Pros contract/change order management, Red Team chat support is quick to respond and helpful Cons 1\. Need to be able to use the same email address as a contact for different entities. + messaging is not a good solution as most companies will not change settings to allow this. 2. There should be a way to do a 2nd, 3rd, etc. estimate/proposal without it overwriting the original. Most everything else in RedTeam gets replaced (superseded) but not deleted/overwritten. This should be the same. 3. You can not delete/cancel an executed sub contract agreement. 4. There is a lot to learn beyond the training provided. 5. Anything sent from RedTeam (progress reports, proposals, etc.) are sent as a link. No way to send as a PDF. Links get caught up in spam/junk folders. Review Source LAS Lou Ann S. We need a program that helps eliminate time-consuming processes and redundancies. While at the same time track time-sensitive communications. Estimates, budgets, buyouts, and billings can bog you down in tedious detail. But have a system that tracks it from day one thru the full life of the project is a great benefit. Also, having the ability to link with QuickBooks makes our office manager grateful she doesn't have to learn a new system. Pros Systematic process. The program is well tuned to help eliminate the pitfalls of being so busy and missing a step or piece of information. The process forces you to not shoot from the hip, as we all have done and been bitten by it. The customer support can't be beat. The techs know their stuff and help you get going quickly, even when you ask the software to do something it was not designed to do, they still help you figure it out. Cons Implementation, with any robust complete software program converting completely over to it takes time. The transition is challenging if you are busy. You will be tempted to stick with what you have always done due to being comfortable with it. However, that said the RedTeam support has helped me time and time again as I use the software more and more. September 29, 2018 4.0 Pros We are a mid-size commercial construction general contractor that uses this software. We used to use Microsoft project and this is a HUGE step up from it. I know you can use the software for estimating, bidding, and a lot of other features but we strictly use it for scheduling, submittals, and closeouts. We might use it for estimating and bidding later in the future but for now scheduling works well for us on it. You can upload all of the plans to the software in the cloud and you can also include all of the RFIs, PCRs, punch lists etc. If you are using it to manage submittals it is kind of like a Newforma for the GC end of things. Scheduling is very convenient and you can add all relevant parties to view the schedule. This is nice because everybody can see in real time if we have a delay or scheduling conflict. There are smartphone apps for this as well. Customer support is excellent on this software if you have any questions or run into any problems. I would try it out if you are needing a good construction management software. Cons The estimating portion of the software seemed a little buggy and difficult to understand. The support was excellent the one time I used it and I didn’t feel rushed or like I was taking up too much time. You can tell that they want this software to be the best that it can be and I appreciate their continued investment in making it better. Pros I have used RedTeam at my job for about 5 months now. It is designed for contractors by contractors which gives it an edge some competitors don’t seem to have. It’s easy to connect from anywhere with any device from pre construction to post construction including estimating, bidding, scheduling, etc. It has streamlined a lot of our day to day work. Cons Sometimes the estimating portion can be a little glitchy. Also updates can take a while to get used to as at times they have made drastic updates to the interface. For users who don’t like change, I could see them struggling. It allows everyone on our team (contractors, employees and the clients) to keep in touch and know what is required and when. The challenging thing with the software was to ensure everyone is using it and checking it regularly Pros What I liked most about this software is how well it helps us keep track of any project at any time. With the mobile app at your fingertips it is easy to take pictures and make a report about issues, milestones, or even the project is completed. Cons What I liked the least about this software is that there isn't tier pricing. Being a small company, there are many features we didn't need so it would have been nice to have a smaller/condensed/ stripped-down version made available. Pros Mobility of this software is effective in that it is easy to learn how to use and is compatible with most mobile interfaces for improved communications with those involved with the project. It also has the affordability that smaller businesses will be able to utilize this application as an advantage. Cons Some features are not fully developed to their true potential which shows in the difficulty to follow how to use such as the submittal process. October 29, 2019 4.0 Like I said, Know your Project Managers' IT capability and commitment before buying this. When we bought this, we did not get our PMs' commitment on migrating to this software from Google Drive. It was not implemented well. Although it has a lot of helpful features, it will not be helpful if the user is not tech savvy or does not have time to learn. Being an IT who landed in the accounting department, this would have been useful to our company if the commitment to utilize this is strong. Pros It is an all in one project correspondence to customer, accounting, subcontractors, and suppliers. I like its user friendly built and its professional look on their templates. Training for users on different roles are also available. It is very easy to contact help via chat. The builder of the software is in Orlando. We are also in Orlando. Cons It does not integrate with our accounting software QuickBooks Desktop. It can integrate with online software though. Pros RT's ability to track cost and invoices in real time. RT is much better than previous tracking method.Detailed breakdown Cons Adding Labor and Expense Authorizations is extremely time consuming and tedious. especially when you have a lot of smaller projects. if we could add an expense authorization and a labor authorization to group of employees and assign employees to a group that could enable us to assign labor and materials to a Group 1 at the same time and Group 2 at the same time for example. however you can make it happen, having the ability to add labor and material authorizations all at once would be huge. it takes us about 30 minutes to set up a project and it's really inefficient (and frustrating) the way it is set up now. Lately, the "freezing" up and being slow is quite frustrating. Pros Time and expenses; invoice entry, employee, vendor components are easy to use. The audit feature on the buyout is extremely helpful. Overall, the software is easy to learn and use. Cons Some components are tough to edit. It's easier to go through the deletion process than to edit. Expense and labor authorizations should have audit feature. The software FREEZES often -- very frustrating. Must log out and start all over. Should be able to see the names of projects -- the project numbers to ID the project does not work well with multiple projects happening at the same time. There is not enough space allowed for invoice numbers. Unless, I am unaware, you cannot run project reports from this software Review Source AJ Adam J. It is currently being used on a multi-family project and definitely has some pros, as it keeps up with agendas, meeting minutes, submittals, and other project management items. The benefits I've come across using RedTeam is that it documents everything. If on the off chance something is deleted due to user error, their support team is fantastic and pretty responsive. They can usually rectify an issue if given some additional information (i.e. when the error occured, what was deleted, etc.). Pros It is cloud based that can be used via web browser or on the mobile application and can be used anywhere with an internet signal. Cons The user interface is not fluid and user friendly with regards to daily items (i.e. RFI's, submitting multiple submittals). Review Source AF Andrew F. Its given us the ability to centralize our estimating process such as entering inventory items and getting pricing from subs. This has saved us a good amount of time. Looking forward to a couple " Pros I like the fact that you can have "inventory items" saved into the system which helps a lot when putting together estimates and not having to go back and forth from word to excel when putting my estimates together anymore. Also helps a lot to be able to see the our subcontractors proposals within the same software. Cons It would be nice to have a bit more freedom on customizing our proposal format. I also feel that it is missing the quantities in each estimate line item. One more very helpful thing would be to have the ability to "sign" or insert a signature into the files without having to go through Docusign and in our case turning the file into a PDF signing and then having to email from another platform and not emailing through RedTeam Reason for choosing RedTeam I chose redteam because it had the features I was looking for and was not full of other things that I would most likely never use. President Construction Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Great product and company" March 21, 2017 5.0 We are a small company and were looking for a back office solution to help us manage the growth we were experiencing. We were frustrated with duplicating our effort and the time we wasted tracking insurance expirations, releases, duplicate invoices, etc. Most of the solutions that we found provided features that we didn't need since we use QuickBooks Online for accounting and didn't want a product that included managing that aspect of our business. I happen to come across a link to RedTeam on the QBO site and contacted them for a demonstration. It was very obvious right away that RedTeam was exactly the solution we were looking for. We could not be more pleased with our decision to go with RT. Not only do the product features fit our needs, the service and support we have received has been outstanding. This company puts forth a lot of effort providing the user with tools to get up to speed quickly and their Help Center is the best I have seen. I cannot say enough good things about RedTeam and their product and would definitely recommend it to others searching for this type of solution. Pros Integrates with QuickBooks Online and PlanGrid. The submittal process and RFI process is very clean and can be displayed to clients in an easy to read fashion. The bidding process is super helpful & intuitive and proposals look great using the RedTeam template. Pros I like how easy it is to organize the project from the bidding phase, to the construction phase, and to the billing/closeout phase. Pros I like the simple format and layout of the budget sheets once completed with a job set up. Cons when I login I'm always given the "incorrect or unknown name/password" notice to which I always just re-click and then it logs me in. This is fairly minor but a little bit of an annoyance. If you could have save or memory of based on previous use to help streamline the process that would be nice. Finally, when things need to be changed such as pay rates and descriptions of services for miscellaneous items it would be nice if that were a little simpler to adjust, especially since we often deal with different pay rates. Cons There are still items to be improved, however they take the suggestions seriously and those are usually included on the updates. I am very impressed and very content with the customer support Redteam has provided thus far. Pros it has all the tools I need for construction management. For the cost this program is really an investment. Cons There are some issues but it is just a learning curve for this software. The tools are not arranged in a user friendly format as compared to for example Prolog by Meridian or Expedition by Premavera.
