### "Get rid of touch bistro while you still can "

I did enjoy using the software, but dealing with tech support and closing my account has been absurd

Pros

It was a very good system while in use, the ease of adding chairs to tables, and the simplicity of swiping left to remove items was great.

Cons

I just recently closed the doors to my business and wanted to let you all know that, although I used TouchBistro, it has been a nightmare trying to close my account. I called early December, before we closed our doors, to let them know I was closing my account with them. I then called them January 17 asking why they were still charging me, a manager escalated my case. Woke up this morning, another charge. Called again, found out that I’m still 3rd in line to have an agent assigned, which means even though I “closed my account” it’s still considered active and I have to keep paying them until they get off their lazy asses and actually close it. THEN after they do an investigation, they’ll decide whether I get refunded or not…

Overall I'm very happy with TouchBistro! I think this system fits my needs and I love how accesible the staff is for questions and recommendations. I highly recommend to restaurant owners or anyone who needs a pos system!!

Pros

Customer Support is second to none!! I call frequently and find the staff always helpful, kind and knowledeable. They want to get you back in order quickly! I highly recommend!

Cons

The only drawback is things cost extra for add ons to enhance the system, for example I'd love to sell gift cards but as a new brick and mortar I can't afford an additional huge expense to be added on monthly.

### "TouchBistro is NOT Your Answer"

TouchBistro has been one of the most stressful and unreliable systems I’ve ever used. The instability, lack of support, and billing issues make it more of a liability than a tool. Based on my experience and the consistent feedback from other business owners, I would strongly advise choosing a different POS. 10/10 do not recommend.

Pros

Honestly, none after the most recent software upgrade. The system became more difficult to use, less reliable, and more frustrating overall.

Cons

Confusing and time-consuming to program, unstable system (menu items, modifiers, and printer settings randomly disappear or change), frequent glitches and crashes that disrupt service, ;ong wait times for customer support, questionable billing practices (incl. continued charges after cancellation), overall poor communication and a lack of accountability.

### "Cheap but ineffective"

Overall it is clear that this software was created by someone that has never worked or managed a restaurant. Our buyout was also insanely high ($7k) Look elsewhere!

Pros

quick support and simple setup. You can call the 1800 number and get someone on the line within a few minutes. They are able to see your ipad which is helpful.

Cons

HORRIBLE CONNECTION PROBLEMS. Used a Moby8500 that would disconnect every single day leaving us with a terminal down. Offline mode is an absolute joke. You have to turn it on before your connection signal goes out meaning you have to deal with manually batching out cc payments. If your internet goes out and you don't have offline mode on you are SCREWED and can't even send an order to kitchen. The ipad is completely unusable, sometimes we were resorting to using paper and manually calculating taxes. We were unable to take credit cards which is 80% of our sales and it is the main reason we are moving away. Absolutely redundant steps such as FAAs required to clock in and clock out like an hourly employee or having to manually enter doordash orders and creating a discount to close those orders. They also charged us for loyalty services and never set it up.

### "Terrible company"

Very negative. legitimate charges not delivered, promised service, constant interruption, and loss of sales.

Pros

Nothing Unfortunately they take advantage over their customers. Overcharge, break contract never delivered service that was promised.

Cons

This company has consistently failed to provide reliable service—experiencing outages nearly every day or every other day. As a result, our business suffered a loss of sales exceeding $$$$$ over a 7-month period. Despite our agreement, this company did not deliver the marketing services as promised. Nevertheless, I have been charged for them. They sold me outdated equipment, including a discontinued payment terminal. It is now clear why they are unwilling to take it back—because the devices are old models that are no longer supported. It was nearly impossible to reach any of their managers, despite multiple requests. This lack of communication only added to our frustration and further delayed resolution of the issues we faced.

I balance the night before using TouchBistro and our cc payment system, pulling reports from the online portal and inputing them into an Excel spreadsheet, making sure they match. I wish I could make changes to the TB numbers after the day is closed, so it refects online what I had to do offline to balance.

Pros

for the most part, information is easy to access thru the online portal for reports. Generally I do not have issues, but when I do, help is hard to find.

Cons

pages sometimes take a long time to load, the date switches in my reports when I switch pages, there are sporatic glitches where reports don't match between the machine and online and the snapshot sent to me to work from. Getting help from a person is a nightmare.

Poor customer service from the beginning. Mislead by sales rep. Inadequate training through Zoom. Missing/Unusable equipment. Calls not returned; advised to use email but no response to those either.

Pros

TouchBistro is iPad based and almost all-wireless system. It's very convenient to walk around with the POS system.

Cons

Customer Service is the worst I have ever encountered in any setting or in any industry. No response or resolution to most problems.

### "Avoid TouchBistro at all costs."

2 weeks now I have been trying to cancel our subscription with TouchBistro. For 2 weeks my case keeps being escalated and I’m assured customer care will reach out to me so we can cancel. This is after being with them for 4 years without contract. Constant POS crashes (almost every order), poor customer, expensive integrations and little to no customer or technical support. Processing fees are set to rise this month as well. Do yourself a favor and avoid doing any business with them.

Overall, my experience has been negative and I need to switch to another POS company. There are many features that other POS companies have that TouchBistro does not.

Pros

I can't think of any at the moment, unfortunately. We will be switching POS companies.The company is aware of the issues I have had with them.

Cons

We lost $18k because TouchBistro set up our system incorrectly and then their service department repeatedly gave me incorrect advice. Also, with each successive update, we lost some degree of functionality.

Nightmare. Over and over I’ve called for 10 months now for a resolution to a restart issue. Ive concluded that this company has no personnel capable of correcting bugs and badly written code. I am warning everyone I know to stay away from Touch Bistro

The best thing is that in one more year I will never have to deal with this company again and I will be with another POS that actually works

Cons

It’s hard to choose what is worst when everything is horrendous The tech support is a joke. The customer service is non existent and they have new weasel words every time you call them in order to delay your resolution.

Nothing about touch bistro is worth the cost of this point of sale system. There are much better alternatives

It froze and had to restart the point of sale all the time. The button layout was an absolute mess..

Pros

It was very user friendly! Easy to train staff how to use and very straightforward format. Very nice for event based or restaurant based sales. Also great integration abilities!

It’s a bit more expensive of a product in a competitive field. Great product but the cost is a downfall.

### "RUN the other way!"

We are opening a restaurant and wanted a Valentines POS, they wanted $300 a month for hardware and licenses. We signed thinking we could cancel if we didn't get to open. Our financial advisor told us that we could get a POS for $30 a month and its ridiculous to pay 10 times that as a beginning business. We can't open due to structural issues now and in trying to cancel - when we never received any of the hardware - they want $16,000. Don't care that we can't open and don't have their hardware. Won't negotiate any fees or anything. Highly suggest we get their hardware and start using it when we can't open. STAY AWAY

Nothing they scam people to bind you in contract if you want to walk out they want you to pay full amount of services. They never provide any equipment and charging you for services.

### "STAY AWAY FROM TOUCHBISTRO!"

Horrible. I seriously don't understand how this company gets ANY positive reviews. Reports are difficult to interpret. Tax calculations are inaccurate - which is a HUGE liability. Processing fees are volatile. Tech support (while they are nice on the phone) takes a VERY long time. For us to spend hours on the phone with tech support weekly is not out of the ordinary.

Pros

The low cost is NOT worth the headaches. Talk about "buyers remorse". We are counting the days for our contract to end so we can go to a competent company.

Cons

Where to begin? We literally have pages of complaints about this system.

### "Do not even consider if you have more than one location."

This has been the single most frustrating, stressful and painful process in 40 years in the restaurant business. Customer support is absolutely terrible after you pay them. I have 300 emails with them about issues, and just today the same problem occurred today. More bugs than a picnic on a trashpile.

Pros

The system seems like it should be great. The loyalty options seem great. They problem is they lie about features and the onboarding support is basically zero. To quote the onboarding rep, "As soon as you process your first transaction, my job is done". It doesn't matter that over 80% of the features aren't working and we don't have any online menu working, once one transaction is processed, you are on your own.

Cons

At this point, I have personally spent over 200 hours of my time to get this system running and I have 50% of the system running at one store and 25% at another. The system has zero support for multi-units and everything has to be repeated numerous times to make any changes. For example, for two stores, every change has to be done 4 times: 1 for instore, 1 for online and then the exact same changes again for any other location, every with the exact same menu. This is a terrible system for multi-units.

### "Total disappointment "

Where do I start? Have been using it for less than 3 weeks and it has been a complete nightmare. First, the sales person sold us equipment that "we didn't need" as per the install guy. Over $300 in equipment still in their box... the initial onboarding guy said we didn't need that for the size of the venue. Second, the second iPad does not connect to the touch bistro network. Third, was basically told we had to switch our payment processing to Chase because the integration wasn't going to work with other providers for much longer. After lots of time and paperwork ended up switching to Chase for TouchBistro and guess what? the integration doesn't work. We have had to switch to the stand along mode to be able to take payment from our customers. We have spent hours and hours on the phone with customer service and no one seems to be able to figure it out. Yesterday I was on the phone again for over 2 hours, first with one guy who tried everything he could and finally said he had to transfer me to a senior department because he didn't know what else to do. After having to explain everything again to the "senior" agent, then she tries to follow all the same steps that I had just gone through with the previous guy and still couldn't figure it out. After basically turning everything off and back on 10 times, it worked once so I ended the call!!! Then today, we get to work and guess what? It doesn't work again. I wasted over 2 hours of my day for nothing!!!

Pros

The idea behind it it's great, if it were to actually work as it should.

Cons

Our team is hating that we changed the POS because this one is so slow and gives them connectivity issues daily. We were sold a product that does not actually operates as they tell you it would. - You can not restrict servers from opening someone else's table unless you assigned sections. Seriously? - You can not use the main iPad to try to input a reservation because the second iPad won't work unless the main iPad is on the TouchBistro app? lol are you serious? - The integration of TouchBistro POS with TouchBistro reservations system that I was told was gonna make everything so smooth is a complete joke. As I said, you can not try to take a reso or waitlist with the main iPad. You basically need an iPad that's gonna sit there and look pretty but not be used for anything beside clocking in/out, otherwise it will compromise the entire operation. - The payment integration is ridiculously slow (when it actually works) but it has only worked a couple of times and the rest of the time gives an "error connection". It's a brilliant idea, if it were to actually function.

### "Using Touchbistro at Your Restaurant (aka Your Second Job)"

I wish any part of it was reliable because the ease of use and customization of so many things is great. As a small business owner I really only have time for one job, running my restaurant not chasing down the solution to why my POS system isn’t functioning properly.

Pros

The only area I am happy with is the reporting. Everything else is truly terrible, time consuming, frustrating and a detriment to my ability to focus on my restaurant.

Cons

They may claim to have 24/7 customer service but that has only worked for us for two of our more than 30 issues in the past two years. The vast majority of issues must be sent off to a different department that does not work nights, weekends, or apparently ALL the holidays that exist in the US or Canada. There are issues on average every week, I have made six calls this week alone. On average I probably spend three hours a week dealing with issues, some weeks over 10 hours spent. There also seems to be issues with the hardware. We used to payment devices at our restaurant, so far 10 have failed. When these issues arise that also results in hours on the phone and days of communication to resolve. I

### "Industry Standart for Restaurants and Cafes"

If you are running a restaurant, you need rock solid working system especially in rush hours. It is touchbistro.

Pros

It is super easy to fill your menu in and start using. There is high possibility your crew is familiar with it and if anything goes wrong just call the support and they gonna help you.

Cons

Some features needs extra clicks and attention, like updating menu, photos and prices etc. it is not a daily task, but would be nice to make edits on better ui.

### "Excellent POS system"

Touch bistro has been a vital part of my business. It was easy to set up my menu and any modifiers, which is important for not missing things on an order. Getting daily, monthly or even yearly reports is very easy. The software is easy to use, so you don’t have to be tech savvy to understand how to use it. When you link your payment terminal with the system it is only a push of a button and the customer can use the terminal. There is no change of discrepancy between the register and terminal. Overall it is a great system and I have had no issues with it in the almost 3 years I have been using it!

Pros

I love that it is so easy to navigate through my menu. Payment options are made simple and easy for the employees and customers. You don’t need to be tech savvy to understand how the program works so it’s great for all age employees.

Sometimes it takes a while to reach support

This software has steadily gone done hill in the last 3 years. Tech support is horrible, unless you get a mid-level person who knows something. The movement to everything being cloud-based sounds great, but makes daily server reporting tedious and time consuming. HORRIBLE. If i didn't have so much money invested in equipment between multiple restaurants, i would change. If you're new and considering purchasing TouchBistro....DON'T! Look elsewhere!

Table side ordering. Menu flexibility. Expandability.

Cons

The more they add features, the worse it gets. I highly doubt that the development people have any restaurant experience. Refunding a cc that has been wrung in is ridiculously difficult. To top it off, they have just recently started to move EVERYTHING to the cloud. Including the server end-of-day reports which makes it extremely hard to check credit cards, voids, comps, etc. It's ridiculous at best. No thought whatsoever on user friendliness.

### "Unimpressed 8 year customer"

After the devastating problem 2 years ago, I have hated TB ever since. Not to mention it has consistently gotten slower and slower. I just had to upgrade my wifi router for the 3rd time in 8 years (upgraded today in fact), going from Apple Airport, to Amplify, and now Cisco; we'll see if things are better now.

When an update about 2 years ago made every IPAD in the building unusable, and there was no way to undo the update. Made my restaurant not have a POS for 4 days while i waited to find 8 new IPADS, a new Mac Mini, and 8 new IPAD stands. There were emails sent about the update but they went into the clutter/junk folders\\...WHERE WAS THE PHONE CALL??????????????????????????????????????????????? ANd then the sad "here is 3 months of free touchbistro". This cost us thousands of dollars in new equipment, lost sales/transaction, and man hours. It also meant that for 4 days every employee had their worst days ever in the building, hand writing orders, hand delivering order to the kitchen, hand writing CC orders, tax, reciepts, etc (many payments didn't end up going through either)

This is the first POS system that we had where we have nothing but problems. They do not listen to customer feedback, and I would not want to recommend this POS system to anyone. I was contracted with them for one year and when I called to cancel, they told me that the canceled is automatically renewed and I have to pay additional charges for cancellation. I agreed to pay the amount because I do not want to deal with them in the future.

I wish there is something I would’ve liked

Nothing. Lack of support and inconvenience

Great. "Callback" feature for customer support is invalueable.

Pros

Ease of use for FOH, timekeeping for staff, reporting for administration

Cons

Lack of integrated payment options. Only Chase and Moneris are the only options in Canada.
