### "Buyer beware"

Horrible, devastating, painful, left in the dark, and feel like I have be robbed. No difference between this company and one holding a gun to you demanding your money.

Pros

The main terminal works well. The reports are clear and in depth. WHEN it works it is an okay system

Cons

The mobile units do not communicate with the main POS, so we have to had write orders and then type them in. There is NO customer support. We have been waiting one month and there has been NO help or communication. \[sensitive content hidden\] is our salesman and he has done nothing to assist. Even with this issue, which is 2/3's of our system not working, they still take out their ACH payment each month. Lied about what equipment was needed and how it would work. We lose money each and every day we are open, due to this system.

### "REPLACEMENT EQUIPEMENT NIGHTMARE"

Faulty printer! the only printer they support has third party ink, the ink strips the part inside the printer... solution? buy another $500 printer so I can spend money to get the other one fixed and will be a reoccurring break every nine months! SHOULD BE CALLED 24/7 SUPPORT TO HELP YOU FIND YOUR OWN ANSWER. Every time I call in I am either dropped, have to wait 4 hrs for a call back or lied to. One rep even told me my email had been updated... fast forward to an update and I wasn't notified again. Called in and next rep says oh we can't even update that kind of info through call centre!

Pros

It is a detailed app that provides us with time saving benefits

Cons

Buggy system. orders disappear or don't send to kitchen, even though says sent.

Pros

Ease of touching, direct sending to kitchen, really a great system, just a few things could make it better and easier

Cons

Some function are not easy to understand...Don't like having to try and figure them out....need a code set up that is not a login code of a manager that is just for discounts....also a tab that is one touch for takeout and delivery displayed at the top with the name would be good...so it one touch check out for them...also bar tabs should print the customers name, so when a bar tab customer decides to order food the chit in kitchen has their name on in and not just "bar Tab"

They don't answer their phone, they don't call you back, they don't do anything after they sell you the product

Pros

It's easy to use. That's it. it is intuitive enough to use which lulls you into a false sense of security at first because as with any product you are bound to run into problems and then who do you call? No one! You would think the people who sold you the product would be happy to stand by their product and help you out. Negative they don't do diddly.

Cons

They don't answer the phone. You will note that I titled this review non- existent customer service because they simply do not answer the phone, call you back... NOTHING. The few phone calls they have returned they tend to call at noon, as in lunch time. lunch time would be a good time for them to take lunch not to contact a restaurant.

They will lie to get the sale, lie about incentives have poor support, thinks a video is training, takes hours to get a hold of someone. It is my lifes mission to ensure no new business owners get screwed the same way we did.

Pros

absolutely nothing - When they are trying to sell the product they promise all the features you need they have, and that they work. Once you actually start using the product all the features i wanted were "future" features. They will lie to get the sale and then screw you in the end once you have everything signed! Forced to use CHASE machines, we advised them 1 of our locations still has 2 years left with their debit machines. said ya no problem. then 3 months later seeks \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] to get back all the incentives (we have 3 locations, and used our own hardware - the router).. What they say and what they do are the opposite. RUN AWAY FROM THEM

Cons

not user friendly to set up, convoluted and support doesn't know how to use the system. BY FAR the WORST product i have used. I regret getting this product, and i hope everyone who reads this does not get this product. i have another 1.5 years left and i cant wait to leave.

Pros

It connects with our accounting software so that our daily sales are uploaded automatically. The app is easy to use and our new staff can be trained quickly and efficiently. The billing features are really great and allow our servers to manage tables the way the customer wants, not the way the POS wants.

Cons

Adding menu items is time consuming and a general pain. We would love to have a web based site that allows easier uploading . The reporting features are a bit clunky - for example we cannot check on single item sales totals. Instead we have to download a entire report with ALL items.

good pricing for a product that meets a small businesses needs

Pros

Price point is great for a small independent business. Ease of use: very easy to train new staff on the software.

Cons

Limitations for custom reporting as well as the frequency of updates - trying when all your programs are constantly changing, albeit for the better many times, tough to keep up with when all (not just touch bistro) your tech is constantly evolving faster than one can keep up.

### "Buyer Beware"

We have not yet implemented after 6 months or working with Touchbistro to resolve our issues. We have dealt with over 15 different people without a solution.

Pros

We liked that it is portable and easy to use with familiar hardware (ipads)

Cons

This isnt a Con for the software but the tools surrounding its use. We clearly defined our needs to use this tool outside as over 50% of our customer seating is outdoors. We have been able to take orders and submit them fine using the ipads, but the tools used to close out tickets and process payments at those outdoor tables did not work as sold or promised. Touchbistro has refused credit on those devices and has yet to offer a workable solution.

I started using TouchBistro as soon as I learned about it. The system has allowed me to streamline the cafe in so many ways. Speed of order process, invaluable sales data and allowing me to be on top of flow are just a few of the benefits that TouchBistro has allowed me. I can not imagine running the Cafe without this invaluable tool.

Cons

Its always about the fixed costs so I have to be that guy and say cost.

If works great but hope you never have a problem because you can't see customers tabs and can't credit card payments when system freezes.

Pros

Easy to use just no assistance if have a problem.

Cons

Don't answer when need them. No contingency to take payments and can't view customer tabs so can't collect. Have closed down because could collect the active tabs. They don't answer at night usually call back 3 hours later and is to late by then. We have had system lock up several times. Turning off and on system does not fix. They have to remotely sign in to fix and takes them 30 minutes to fix.

It has been fair. Sometimes their customer service department is hard to get a hold of. We have found that calling in the morning hours (MST) have proven to be best odds so far.

Pros

The ease of my staff being able to use it on a daily basis to change or revise orders is much simplier than what we had prior.

Cons

The set-up was a little bit of a struggle with nested modifiers. And, we are getting ready to utilize the online ordering feature and found out that nested modifiers do not pull into the online ordering platform, which is difficult and we are going to have to find a work around.

Cost and the interface seemed more user friendly that the employees use.

Horrible service, started right after I signed the contract. Just TRY to call their customer support (technical help, whatever) before you sign anything.

Pros

I liked the price....until I found out that you get what you pay for.

Cons

Random charges, no follow-through, lead person went on vacation during onboarding without leaving anyone else to help. STILL haven't received any equipment (that was supposed to be here 2 weeks ago)....but yet they're already charging me for additional months of service.

I is more efficient than a regular cash register and allows us to track our sales and tax instead of trying to calculate it after.

Pros

That it uses an existing IPad and can be stationary or mobile. Also it is great for tracking sales so that we can keep track of trending up and down of our menu items> It also helps use with ordering and inventory

Cons

That it doesnt include a rounding function for places that have phased out the penny. Sometimes the modifiers are a pain and could be better to add if you could choose all the menu items that could use the same modifier,

I really like the features it offers especially now that recipe costing has been added. Splitting checks is a breeze.

Cons

Having to check every item to put a discount on the entire check. Slows things down a lot when in a hurry.

TouchBistro is central to our restaurant operation. Our servers are happy with it, and overall administration is easy and effective for our needs.

Pros

TouchBistro is very easy setup and use and is truly designed for restaurant use. The cloud reporting feature and customer support are also excellent.

Cons

The one downside for us is that you can't do any real administrative activity without disrupting service, so you have to do it on one of the iPads outside business hours.

Basically, works okay. This is our first restaurant so our only experience with a POS. For the amount of money this costs, I feel it falls short on the reporting side as it relates to accounting. Changes seem to happen very slowly if at all (only 1 year). Customer services getting better. Whenever I have the need to speak with a live person I've expressed my frustration as well as the issue which initiated the contact. TB prefers emailing their tech support team.

Pros

Relatively easy to train new staff.

Cons

On the Administrative side, it is very cumbersome.

### "Very easy to use POS but needs refinement"

you need to be able to authorize users to delete items without granting them void permissions. Also sometimes the POS accepts a tipout amount and passes it to the credit card processor but then forgets that it already processed the tip amount. At that point it refuses to accept any tipout amount and forces us to do an override on the preauthorization, which in turn means manual calculation of total tipout for the server and understates their tip income on wage reporting....

1) some tipouts get passed through to the credit card processor but fail to capture in the POS, then the POS won't take a tip amount and assumes it's neither entered nor will it let you re enter the tip because the final authorization is complete. 2) in security settings for staff, to enable a staff member to correct their own mistakes before sending an order to the kitchen, because of the way you've set things up, I also have to authorize staff to VOID items that have already been sent, which I refuse to do. so I end up having to approve every little change, whether or not they've been sent to the kitchen... bad design!

### "Easy to use, difficult to get help"

TouchBistro is relatively easy to use for someone who has little to no experience with POS. It has a lot more functionality than something like Square, but it still utilizes the familiar iOS user interface and makes training staff/customers easy. Additionally, set up is easy, as it uses Apple Airports and a mac computer, which are all easy to purchase and use. However, if you want to get more technical, TB is not for you. I work in a large restaurant, and we wanted to build a better wifi network for customers and our office as well as POS. As part of this, we installed new access points to provide a strong signal for a very large room. When we wanted to set up TB to work off of the new APs, their customer support refused to provide assistance, and will only work with you if you're using Apple gear. Not only that but the support was slow to respond throughout our time using TB and often didn't provide helpful advice. Usually, the errors we'd experience would correct themselves after TB's engineers released an update (i.e. after a new version of iOS would come out), but we'd lose a lot of money in the process, with system outages and bugs. Overall, I would recommend you either stick with the tried and true simple solution (square) or spend the money and go up to one of the traditional POS systems. If you're set on a more advanced tablet system, I would recommend Toast over TouchBistro.

\-Easy to use (for the most part) -Easy to setup -Replaceable hardware (Apple products) -More features than many similar competitors

Cons

\-Poor customer support -No setup options -Some functions difficult to access/not intuitive -Bugs/issues when iOS updates - unreliable

If you're looking to onboard, they will make you feel valuable. After that - forget about any level decent of customer service.

Pros

Simple interface. Price Point of monthly subscription.

Cons

Once you buy in, you are VERY low priority for them. it takes weeks to hear back by email and hours to connect on the support line. This is all before even attempting to trouble shoot your issues. Dev Team launches updates that arnt tested and working thoroughly. Wish i chose a different system off the bat.

This POS has made my life so much easier. The reporting is amazing and everything is so easy. I haven't had any major issues as I've only used it for 6 months but so far I would 100% recommend.

Pros

SO easy to use - programming buttons, menus, integrating payment, splitting bills - everything about it is so easy

Cons

In person set up would have been alot easier but that's the only con I can think of

Pros

When I started my business, the company that ran the POS system I inherited gave me trouble 24 hours before I opened. In stepped TouchBistro. They went above and beyond to have me up and running in time for my opening. I have never seen support they offered from another company. Their customer service was second to none. On top of that, the system is so easy to use. I set up my menu from scratch, in a rush, the night before opening. Training staff on it is a breeze as well.

Cons

There isn't much to complain about. It would be nice to be able to adjust the menu remotely but they're constantly upgrading the features available via cloud, so I'm sure that's on the horizon as well.

Pros

Track revenue keep track of payroll and clock in and clock out features. Direct tech help although long wait time during peak hours. Easy to add menu items and change prices

Cons

Issues with a simple wire cord from cash drawer to printer. Tech support lacks experience when asked about replacement equipment which was frustrating during business hours

Zero. Wasted money. It has been only 3 days since we started using this . I wish they will take it back and refund our money...

Pros

I like that it uses ipads. Because it gives you redundancy when the end device has some issues.

Cons

Not user friendly interface. No tipping from customer side.. not fully cloud..

### "Touch Bistro: Great for the Independent Business"

I've been using Touch Bistro since 2013 and it has only got better over the years. They are a very dynamic company with frequent updates which serve to keep your system always performing better with greater functionality and better reporting. Every update is like a little present in which you can unpack more and more features! Their support network has never failed us in our dire times of need when your mac mini crashes 30 minutes before service. This to me is one of the most important functions of a POS provider and Touch Bistro has always been easily reachable and more than happy to get us back up and running.

Pros

price, ease of use and support system in place

Cons

lacks some of the functionality of the big POS systems but frankly independent businesses do not need all that horsepower
