### "A brilliant all-in-one solution for any alumni and fundraising function"

ToucanTech has been pivotal to the success of Hurt's mission in connecting with alumni and others linked to our school. It enables us to communicate efficiently and effectively with our database, track emails and ensure accuracy of information. We use the platform for all event management, and have found the process of organising various reunions and dinners, and managing payments, seamless and reassuring for the user. One of the missions of our office is to raise money for bursaries - ToucanTech has been central to this and we can proudly say that due to this effective and efficient MIS, more pupils now are attending Hurst on bursaries. Above all, this system, and the support that ToucanTech give, is exceptional and we couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Pros

Ease of use, back-room support, simplicity for posting news items, security of information, website interface, value for money in terms of the huge range of operations that it can undertake. A positive experience for the user.

Cons

Nothing - any suggestions for support or changes are actioned quickly and we feel that the company not only listens to its users, but actively goes out to harness feedback to improve the product.

The onboarding was very detailed and the team were very supportive. We had a lot of training before we went live and again once we had started using it which helped immensely. The team are always on hand if there is a query and \[sensitive content hidden\] is brilliant at sending loom videos which visually shows how to do certain tasks. There is a lot of schools using ToucanTech so there is an instant network of users to tap into and learn from.

Pros

The software is user friendly, logical and easy to navigate. We use the reporting wizard a lot and there is so much information you can get out of the database. The customer support is amazing and they get back to you very quickly if there is a query. The event management side is so much better than our last database with alumni and parents being able to book straight onto an event.

Cons

There is so much information held within the database that it took a while to find out where it was in order to run the correct report. Once you are used to the navigation then the reporting is much easier.

Our original payment platform wasn’t compatible, however once we were set up on a supported option everything has worked well.

Our experience has been positive, and we would be happy to refer Toucan Tech to other users. We are yet to experience the full scope of the product, but we are excited about our growing connections with our alumni and donors.

Pros

Customer support has been fantastic. In particular \[sensitive content hidden\] has been exemplary in his understanding of our creative needs and considered in his design approach which is reflective in the quality of the site we now have to gone live with. His attention to detail is next level and we are excited about what comes next.

Cons

Initially putting our alumni and giving site together had its challenges, but these were soon addressed with Support teams and Account Managers. A huge thank you to the team!

We have been really impressed with the level of customer service - ToucanTech colleagues are always very prompt replying to queries and resolving any issues. They show a genuine interest in the School, even coming to visit as part of our onboarding process. The system is very easy to use and suits small teams like ours, with colleagues needing to wear multiple hats. ToucanTech also do great notebooks!

Pros

The best thing about ToucanTech is having a back end fundraising and alumni CRM linked to a website / portal in the front end. This makes it easy for our community to engage with our School, and it is great for us as a small Development team, as it minimises data entry. It is fantastic to have events, email and donation functions built into the product - this means we are just using one system for all our fundraising and alumni needs. The filtering and reporting functions are very easy to use, and the email sync saves many hours manually uploading emails.

Cons

The Wonde API hasn't quite worked for us in our first year, but we are working together with ToucanTech to resolve this.

The team at Toucan Tech did everything they could to support our site build. I was very keen to move quicker than perhaps they normally would, but they supported and backed me every step of the way. The support portal is incredibly helpful and I have found the support helpdesk to very responsive on the whole. I have previously used Raiser's Edge, and this database is so much easier to use and understand - I was able to do most of the front facing site alone, and then use the included in person training session to drill down into specific elements. I very much appreciated having one single person looking after our account and knowing that I could email them at any point if I needed clarification, and it was never a problem if it was something trivial or something I had already been told. Any tech issues were escalated quickly. I'm looking forward to using the full functionality of Toucan Tech as the weeks and months go by and the developments they bring.

Pros

Toucan Tech is an intuitive system to use with an easy interface. The reason I chose to go with TT was because of the multi functionality - comms, payments, website, database all in one. It really is a one stop shop.

Cons

As with any platform of this nature, there are restrictions on things like images, you need to make sure they are edited correctly before uploading for example - once you get used to it, you just know that they have to be edited first.

Fantastic, we couldn't recommend it more highly amongst the school alumni and engagement community. The staff are always outwardly proud of their work and what they can achieve and very helpful to any enquiry no matter how big or small.

Pros

Such an accessible, user friendly and intuitive system. There was so much support throughout the whole on-boarding process and working in a school they met us with patience throughout long periods of busy patches.

Cons

I can't comment on anything further than the team already know about some functions/changes to some features that would really benefit schools using the platform, but they were already on it and I was impressed by the response to my feedback

The experience has been very positive and every staff member from our account manager through to designers and the support team have been extremely helpful and easy to deal with.

Pros

Detailed help guides and a generally logical system that's easy to use. Responsive support team that are always available to help when you occasionally get stuck! Also the design team have been very helpful in totally changing the look and feel of the site for the better.

Cons

Occasionally you might want enhancements or new functionality that is more unique to your institution. These understandibly take longer to implement but are always taken into consideration and logged.

Pros

What I like most about ToucanTech is the excellent support team—they are always very helpful. Additionally, the platform offers a lot of functionality, making it a versatile tool for our needs.

Cons

There isn't anything I dislike about ToucanTech. However, if you're not tech-savvy, you'll need to dedicate some time to learn and understand the platform's functionality. That said, it's manageable because the support team is fantastic and provides great assistance throughout the process.

ToucanTech has been incredibly easy and flexible to work with and they have provided us with excellent support along the way. Their product is already intuitive, however, when we do have questions, they have easily accessible support tools for self-support and a super responsive tech support team.

Pros

Creating our site with ToucanTech has been incredible for our school community and far exceeded our expectations. We started with the goal of having a central place for events, news & information, and a way for parents to network. All of these goals have been met and with better results than anticipated. The Event function, probably our most used, has brought our community together so that our events are more discoverable and inclusive. The number of events, type, and number of participants have all increased. For news and photo/video galleries, our site has lessened our reliance on email and allowed us to share more and have a central place for parents to search for anything they may have missed in newsletters (so much better than searching through emails). We have also expanded our offering of parent interest groups, allowing parents to take the initiative to create and manage groups on their own. This has been really fun and helped to create the “close-knit” community we hoped to build. Another great function has been networking – great for parents, but also great for our high school students looking for guidance about universities and career paths. It feels like the sky is the limit!

Cons

There are a lot of functions the site has to offer that we have not yet fully explored & mastered. Our plan was to start slowly and then expand, but the lure of all of the features and potential positive impact for our community-led us to take on a lot all at once. We are still finding our way with managing content, and I think we will have a better plan in place for our 2nd year. Our first year was amazing, but we just made it up as we went along. Next year we’ll be more organized in our approach.

The Support Team is phenomenal, and it's amazing to have access to a network of other international schools that use the same platform.

Pros

Our alums love learning about the university/industry/geographic Hubs they can join to connect them with other alumni. They are always keen to learn how they can use the platform to network. The Resources section, with digitized yearbooks, is also very popular, as are the Photo Galleries. It was very easy to migrate our data at the beginning.

Cons

There are many features that I forget to use, but ToucanTech sends out newsletters with examples from other schools that are always so useful.

ToucanTech are very supportive and continue to support us. Nothing is too much trouble.

Pros

The look of the system and how easy it is to use and manage. The Events feature is great, it has really helped me plan, organise, track attendance and promote our events. I also like the Advanced Filtering function where you can drill down specific user groups to send mass emails and analyse the data i.e whose reading your emails. The Fundraising section is excellent and direct payments updates the record automatically saving time and resource.

Cons

I do not have any dislikes, we are very pleased with the system. The only one thing I recommend is that you need to keep your data as up to date a possible. You data is only as good as the information you put in.

It has been an excellent product so far. The only exception is the app which I wish we had waited for as we are promoting half a product. We should not be paying for this.

Pros

I like the user friendly platform. I think every organisation has different needs and TT are first class at customer service. We have not used it to the full, but are trying to engage our users and drive traffic to the platform. The database is excellent for segmenting and creating a pipeline.

Cons

I do realise that I need to learn more on reporting to present to our board. I would like to see families recognised in the database for fundraising as we work with the family unit.

Reason for choosing ToucanTech

People! It was sold to us through the team. We needed a database and alumni platform and TT was within our budget. I think that it is important for ad ons such as admissions, database and app, but it is very important that the features available are to the level of the TT platform as there will be an expectation. I love the app but feel disappointed that it is a year later and we still do not have phase 2. I am not sure how we will get our members on board.

### "Three years in with Toucantech and it just gets better and better"

For this review, I'd like instead to illustrate the answer to this question with how a specific problem was dealt with.Being new to using the fundraising module Toucantech was kind enough to "road test" what we had constructed to ensure it would work. This brought peace of mind.Then shortly afterwards, I felt confident to implement a further measure. This went horribly wrong. I was not sure if it was a problem with the software or something I had done.The team at Toucantech immediately responded to my urgent request for help. Following a 2-hour Zoom call, we worked out what I had done wrong, and Toucantech put it right so that it presented on the website as it was supposed to. (They were gracious enough to say that what I had done wrong could easily be done by other new users of their software, and so were going to improve the instructions for that part of the site.)At no time did I feel embarrassed for getting it wrong, and I was so grateful for their patience in putting things right as part and parcel of their normal, fantastic customer service.

Pros

I like that you get to know the staff at Toucantech; and that they get to know you as well. This means we all better understand how to deal with problems.

Cons

Although "glitches" appear in the software from time to time, even this "down arrow issue" is usually dealt with speedily and efficiently. I assume rival software also can have these problems, so I prefer to work on the basis that Toucantech resolves them more quickly than its rivals.

Reason for choosing ToucanTech

Toucantech's customer service was head and shoulders better than all of the others I made enquiries about, including pricing, speed of response, and willingness to respond to problems.

Overall experience as been nothing but positive. ToucanTech is a joy to work with, both in terms of its people and the product itself.

Pros

The friendliness and efficiency of all the ToucanTech team, from the initial sales enquiry and contract negotiation through to the onboarding, data migration, training and support. The whole team have been extremely supportive and patient when at times we were not in a position to make immediate decisions.

Cons

We have found nothing that we dislike in our use of the product to date.

Toucan Tech were extremely helpful during the decision making and transition phase and since we began using the software have been incredibly supportive and taken any feedback on board and further developed the product. We now have over 300 members of our online community since we launched it 6 weeks ago and the numbers are climbing daily. Communications with alumni are simple to use and look fantastic. Record keeping is also easy and efficient. We are absolutely delighted with the product and very happy to recommend it.

As previously described, Toucan Tech could offer all the features of an online community, communications, alumni relations and donation records under one umbrella. Although a higher cost than our original provider it was less than other competitors and offered more features. It was a very easy decision to switch and we have been very impressed with both the service and expertise of their staff all the way through the process.

Our previous provider was able to supply a rudimentary database for alumni and donor relations but could not offer the level of online presence we required and was in danger of being "left behind" in the development of the product compared to others on the market. Support was poor and the product was inefficient and cumbersome to use. We wanted a piece of software that could do all the things we wanted in one place at a competitive price and Toucan Tech perfectly fitted the bill.
