We've been using Arlo LMS for some time now and overall, it's been a very positive experience. The platform makes class creation straightforward, and the built-in support features have been reliable and responsive. One of the standout aspects for us has been the email notifications — they're customizable, timely, and help ensure both learners and instructors stay well-informed. That said, we do wish the website functionality was stronger. While Arlo covers the LMS side quite well, the website builder tools feel limited compared to other platforms. A more modern, flexible, and user-friendly web interface would really round out the product. In summary, Arlo delivers where it matters most for learning management and administrative ease. If the website features were enhanced, it would be even closer to a perfect fit for our needs.

Pros

Class management and student management are good and covers everything you need. The costing is decent as it allows you the chance to pre purchase licenses in advance to help save some money.

Cons

Website ability to be able to customize, adjust and add things like video and interface changes is very limited.

Arlo works well for our organisation in managing our provision of training. It is simple to use and does the basics well. It has been positive to see that Arlo are always looking to introduce new features and functionality to improve the product further!

Pros

Arlo is intuitive to use. It also provides a helpful home dashboard to allow you to take a quick pulse check of trends. I like the enhanced report functionality that has been introduced lately too.

Cons

Arlo suits our needs, however it would be helpful to have additional functionality such as formula fields on the contact. Additionally we utilise the Arlo-Salesforce connector and find that duplicate management is quite a manual process currently that requires admin work to maintain.

I really wanted this service to be what it claims to be. When you do get a live body on the phone they are great people. Just doesn't happen often.

Pros

We love the sales pitch and it does everything but only if all your software is derived from the Southern Hemisphere.

Cons

Customer support is so limited in hours NZD with no North American business time zone support. The language used hasn't been adapted to US English. The fact that they cannot integrate with QBO, Hubspot, or LMS's from North America. Nor can it address blended learning. Given the lack of connectivity to North American leading software service platforms the sales pitch of automating our processes did not materialize.

Our two support teams based out of New Zealand and the UK provide business hours coverage across most of the world, but this does leave a small window in North America where neither team is available to pick up the phone. We're looking at ways to increase our support coverage. Many parts of Arlo can be customized to US English (such as all customer-facing content on your website, automated follow-up emails, and your registration and checkout forms). We're also constantly adding further flexibility to the system so reach out if you need any help configuring this on your platform. A great one stop shop for training/course management, suitable for managing in-house CPD or revenue generating short course and learner management.

Pros

Arlo is a very appealing software, particularly in the Shore Course Management Space (as a type of training) - where the training can be managed effectively from store front and sales right through to managing the learner/student experience.

Cons

The store-front and e-commerce section has limited customisability, which is a trade of for its ease of use. Effectively, your training storefront will look very similar to other users of Arlo which means there is a lack of unique appeal. This is not a big drawback though and will likely be improved in time.

The major pro Arlo has for it is its people. The support team, development staff and especially our customer success manager have been consistently exceptional. We have needed additional support, we have had meetings to support our growth plan, changes to our offerings and custom web development work done to the checkout to support and our customer success manager consistently hit it out of the park with the support given.

Pros

Arlos system functionality reliably delivers its core promises, our students can go in, check out and receive moodle access seamlessly. The stripe integration for payment processing works well, scheduling on arlo displays it on our website now without needing manual intervention reducing workload for the scheduling team and managing our teaching staff's schedule and course minimum/maximum student numbers is much easier. All of this works brilliantly

Cons

The API restiction on the backend can cause issues at time, having more reporting/custom reports build being possible in the system would be great and improving the teaching "offering email system" to include more complex courses woudl be brilliant

Overall pretty good. A bit clunky in parts, but I have developed workarounds. Very helpful support staff!

Pros

Love that everything is all in one place and that Arlo handles multiple time zones. also that our website is always up to date with what courses are available for registrations.

Cons

Would appreciate a few more options to tailor summary views of each course (being able to see which trainer is down to take each session from the course summary page seems like a no-brainer), and options to schedule admin tasks. Non-admin staff can't really do much.

### "Software with super support"

I built a website for a client who was an existing Arlo customer as they provide training courses for the trades. Usually, I stay away from projects that involve a third party app/software etc. However this was a referral from a friend and someone who I have partnered with a lot so I didn’t want to completely brush off the project. So I actually called Arlo support before accepting the project to discuss the process of getting it working on a website and from the moment I spoke to them I was very confident that the support was there and that they would guide me through the process. They did just that and after a couple of emails and Zoom calls, the software worked perfectly on the site and looks great!

Pros

From a design point of view I love seeing the different options available to display the courses. They are very easy to edit with simple code and I most love the feature that show live on a website if the house is full or almost full.

Cons

As I came at it as a web designer for my client who was using the Arlo software already, I had to get 30 day access twice so I could do what I needed and it didn’t work initially - I did then send an email and I then got access soon after on both occasions.

Pros

Ease of use, response to questions, lots of ability to self-service changes. It is the best "off the rack" software of any kind i have ever used. I have used it for around 9 years.

Cons

It truly suits our business needs exceptionally well. There has not been any cons of significance - I literally cannot think of any.

The platform is good but to be honest the customer service/help over the last year to two years has gone down hill. Most times no replies or delayed replies or us having chase customer service.

Pros

Most parts are easy to use and can mostly find what you are looking for and easily feeds into our website.

Cons

That there is certain reporting that we can't do and have to pay extra to adapt some email templates.

Pros

Arlo was able to reach out to us remotely. We had group training sessions. I could then follow up in an email with questions. I heard other departments also made queries and received good feedback.

Cons

The information in "sessions" does not carry over to the reports. ie. room number, Name of the session.The sessions do not have individual reminders. The "Event Reminders" only work at the beginning of the Event. We have people who register for only one of the sessions in an event. The reminder end up going out more than a week before instead of a couple of days before in this situation. I have to work around this by creating many events.

Pros

Arlo is very easy to use and the team is always on hand to help should we have any questions or additional changes we would like to make to our personalised system. Some team members have taken the time to come and give us presentations on how to get the best out of the system which was really helpful. Arlo is a great way for us to upload and keep track of our events. The reporting section is especially helpful for running data analysis. The database is extremely helpful for storing details about centres - the full details of the school will populate from just a centre number. Overall, the system has been great and I would definitely recommend for anyone who is thinking of using it.

Cons

You cannot change the event code once the event has been approved - this means you have to cancel the event and create a new one if there are any changes.

Arlo collates all of the information we need to run our events in the most efficient manner. It's customisable and easy to use. Reporting is a breeze too.

Cons

Not being able to upload documents has been something that has caused extra work. Also, being able to duplicate a template would be super-helpful when you need to incorporate a lot of existing information for a new course.

We find the system easy to use. We moved to Arlo from a multi spreadsheet fully manual operation to a much more automated solution in using Arlo.

Cons

We would like to increase the capabilities of the reporting function. It's good, but we have requirements that haven't been met by the system which mean manual intervention.

Arlo is very user friendly. Course templates and offerings are easily set up, customised and integrated with our website. Updates are in real time. All course details, registrations, communications can be easily managed within one system. As a Business Analyst the reporting capabilities are second to none. Reports are easily set up, customised and scheduled to meet all our requirements. The support team are also on hand to answer questions and queries quickly and effectively.

Cons

Arlo is missing a CRM tool, to truly integrate and track communication via email.

Pros

I really like the way they are always adding new features to the software. I love the integration with Xero and the simple processes for managing your events. As we do lots of different types of events, the flexibility to create your own fields & and reports is so helpful. The customer support is amazing, we have the email support package - which usually means someone from Asia emails you back a week later. No - at Arlo, New Zealand based staff answer the same day. They are really helpful with 'how to do this' queries - not just bug support.

Cons

The price - but I think that it does save on lots of admin time. It would be nice if it connected to Flo2Cash.

Easy and intuitive to use - constantly being developed and upgraded Arlo is the best education management and student management software I have used and I've used quite a few packages!

Cons

There are still areas for development - but I've been in touch with Arlo and am told that they are developing these extra features - such as the ability to mark attendance by class and being able to change multiple sessions on an event at once, if a tutor changes - but we look forward to these updates making Arlo even better!

Pros

Able to pull out all the registrant details in one excel sheet, no need for me to click one by one or going back and forth just to see the details i'm looking for. Everything are pretty straight forward.

Cons

when sending payment links, it only shows the email subject e.g. "Payment of ORD 123", the course name is not included on the subject heading that sometimes registrant has to come back at me and ask what is it for, esp for those who couldn't remember about it. Im not sure if there's an option to change/edit it, will appreciate if you could show me how to do that :)
