Pros

It is colorful, and can be easy to move around in as long as you are not going too fast.

Cons

Retro numbers (closed periods) changing with approvals on expenses or an updated salary rate changing retroactively. Having to figure out if the way a report generated is actually giving the correct information. The "Red "X" of Death" when it is overloaded and shuts you out of the software. Not being able to changing the check box from billable to unbillable or reimbursable to not reimbursable even when there is nothing wrong with the entry.

I would not recommend this product for any small firm who requires integration with Accounting Software. The level of effort required to utilize it is very high. I honestly think your money is better spent to pay someone to print the information from your accounting software on a project-by-project basis. Or spend the extra and use something like Deltek.

Pros

The software platform seems to have all the information to review project time/expenses/budgets etc.

Cons

Cumbersome integration with QuickBooks Online. Requires a lot of manual correction which is extremely time consuming and defeats the purpsose of having such software. If you do not get the full package of subscriptions (Time/Management/Accounting), it is pretty much useless, and you end up doubling up on information. Maybe it would be different if you solely utilized this software (i.e. without a reputable/reliable accounting software like quickbooks).

Pros

Invoice time has been reduced by 50%. EPayments have saved us time and money. Statements can get glitchy but CORE is working on that. We are benefiting from Scheduled reports, epayments, batch updates, batch everything!, ease of workflows and the tap to talk app for exceptional support. Coming from BQ, CORE is amazing! It's a steady process but all aspects are saving our company time and money. AR is easy to see and clients have fewer questions about projects. Game changer

Cons

Initial training wasn't that helpful. More structured training, like a class, would have made a huge difference.

Pros

We went with this software because it was easily accessible but there are so many other downsides. It is new software so the hope is that in time it will become a more stable and effective tool.

Cons

Errors are common. They push updates out the door before properly testing and it creates new issues.

Pros

Technical Support is available, that's great. You can do some project management.

Cons

I don't have a lot of problems with BillQuick desktop. But WebSuite and Agent are incredibly buggy. The timecard monitoring is basically useless, the automatic reporting would be fantastic if it wasn't so buggy. It's seems like they didn't do any load or stress testing. If you send the same report out to multiple people for multiple projects, it will often fail. If you send too many reports to a single individual, most of them will not go out. And it only lets you send reports once a day, so you can't even stagger it to try and avoid some of these problems. I'm very frustrated with it, yet it could be so great. WebSuite also -- people are able somehow to select an activity that doesn't go with the selected project.....our end users hate it.

Pros

Mary is very knowledgeable and always makes me feel better after I'm done talking to her because I actually understand how to solve the problems now. With other support staff I always end up really frustrated because they can't answer my question or they explain something to me that wasn't my question. And when I try to explain that wasn't what I was asking they tend to start being very condescending with me. Now when I have questions I always automatically go to Mary because she has never failed me yet!

Cons

I am getting the hang of BillQuick a lot better now thanks to Mary but one of the things I really hate about BillQuick is how you have to refresh/close and reopen things a lot for it to work. For example if I make a change sometimes refreshing the page doesn't take the change so I have to refresh, delete, refresh close the tab, reopen the tab and re-enter. Sometimes even doing this doesn't help so I have to redo all these steps again like 2 more times just in case and if it still doesn't work I try optimizing the tables, then repeat all the previous steps. I've even closed the program completely or shut down my computer to try and make things work in BillQuick.

So we have been using Timeslips for a long time. Good quality product. However, once we made the transition to BillQuick I am totally on board. Keep in mind that we made a huge up front investment. It was a leap of faith. I liked everything I was hearing, as did our team members. In the end we could not be more pleased with the results. Everyone from the sales team, trainers and tech support helped us with the transition. We have 40 licenses and not in 6 locations. While we are still only a couple of months into this we are starting to get a nice pay back. We have some distance yet to cover but we can see the path clearly now.

Pros

Lack of bugs in the software. Speed. Lower long-term cost of ownership.

Cons

In our situation we had an additional investment into SQL software based on the number of users and to assure high performance. This, plus alot in software and significant training made this a hard decision for us.

Pros

The flexibility of Core is exceptional, and their technical support is top notch. Core has helped us manage our projects and streamline our billing process, which includes 3-tier structure. Prior to Core we use to use excel to manage our multiple database.

Cons

I hope Core is going to have the payroll module soon. This will help cut down the manual steps and use of multiple application.

Pros

I like the ease of use, i am an architect, not a financial type, i understand this product and am able to use it effectively. It has helped us control our billings and receiveables. I also really like the customer support, Alan Schlieper, is very good at working with me in any issues that come up. I tried to mark a 10 in the ratings below, but the survey would not allow. He is that good!

Cons

I wish i could better utilize all of the services the product offers, but we are a bit entrenched in our own processes.

Inputting descriptions between separate time and expenses can be tedious as it pops up a window requiring a description. Usually I copy and paste from the previous days/weeks input.

I am a Gold Care technical support member and for someone like me who transitioned from an extremely out dated software, it is 100% worth paying to have this service. The software itself is fairly self explanatory, but when you need help in seeing the Big Picture, BQE tech support is there for you and they stick with you until you get it.

Pros

With regards to the accounting side of software, BQE having an accredited tax advisor is a Great help when transitioning from one software to another. I found this support extremely complimentary to the overall transition and knowing I can call and set up a GoToMeeting if need be - is another bonus

Cons

My team when it comes to Simple Time Cards using Websuite, wish that they could have the Project ID and Project Number both visible at the same time instead of having to choose one view over the other.

Pros

The product is great and makes the tedious aspects of practice more bearable. BQE (Denise in particular) is consistently the best customer service experience our firm has -period. Has been that way for years. It is amazing. And the ability to receive prompt and helpful guidance when we run in to issues (which is rare) often immediately is the icing on the cake.

Cons

We have been using AO for 10 years now and I cannot think of anything but when an issue arises BQE has been there to Support us.

Our employees are based all over the country, this program is very user friendly and their support is excellent! Any time I call for support, I am able to speak with someone immediately. If they cannot provide a quick solution, they research the issue and always come back with a resolution in a very short time frame.

Cons

I can't think of anything that I do not like about this program, if there is something, you have the opportunity to voice a request or change and they will add it to the "wish-list" and try to work it into the program.

Pros

Absolutely Nothing. Their software doesn't work yet they sell it as a "solution".

Cons

I have no confidence the software is doing what it should and always have to manually double check to make sure it's billing all time at the correct rates, and that it does the math properly. With the online version, you have no guarantee that your month end download contains all your data, and you may end up not billing critical time on your invoice. This cost us lost revenue with one of our clients. The desktop database (MS Access version) is unstable. We had the database get corrupted (become unusable) and lost a week worth of data. Besides becoming completely unusable, we have seen past data within the database change: hours being lost, rates being deleted, expenses being deleted, vendor hours being reallocated to another vendor’s bill, and others. There is no guarantee that past data within the database will remain accurate. Billquick is aware of these two major issues (online version not downloading the entire dataset, and the instability MS Access version) yet they continue to sell both of these products as "software solutions".

Pros

It an excellent software for our architectural firm and we so far we have received a great service. We use bqe for timekeeping and billing. It goes without any doubt our billing process has been simplified. In less than six months we are up and running in AO, keeping track of time and invoicing our clients.

Cons

Too early to talk point out Cons. We have been in the software for less than 6 months but whatever we use it for is working out great.

Pros

I use time cards to track my hours and billing, but that’s really the extent of my knowledge in this program. Easy and straight forward once it is learned, but it can be a little tricky to navigate.

Cons

I’m not a fan of the home page redirect to the log-in page. The button is tiny and every time I look up “BQE Core” it’s not the top result. Maybe boost this?
