### "Overall, I love the program"

Overall, I love the program. It took me many years working in a very outdated software until I felt I found the right program (Core) to switch to for time and billing. It has met all of my needs so far! Love it. I have not had to call in for customer service often but when I do everyone has been helpful and I have not encountered any issues what so ever. I have not worked in the Project Management or Accounting modules of the program.

Pros

The flexibility for invoicing. The ability to email the invoices right from the program. Being able to use the program from anywhere a browser is available although I personally have not had to log in anywhere other than the office but some of my staff has.

Cons

The downside is the refresh rate. At times there is lag due to internet connection which is obviously not an issue with Core itself but the internet connection. I do regret that when entering time entries the fields do not populate faster. I would also love to see a total by day when entering time entries without having to change the date range. I.e. I set the range for a pay period, I would like to see a total for each day and for the entire pay period as a whole on the same screen without having to adjust the dates.

Pros

The ease of use for time and expense tracking along with quick summary charts is what I like the most. Also, an app makes it easy to record time and expenses easy too.

Pros

Our business has grown from less than 10 to over 100 in a very short period of time, and along the way BQE has been our go-to platform for everything from time entry to budget tracking. The software is easy to use, and improvements are quickly made when needed. We have found BQE to be very easy to integrate with our business. The software is intuitive to use and navigate.

Cons

Sometimes the software was slow to load certain pages for us, but this was resolved quickly, and these issues no longer exist.

Easy to jump right in get things set up and start working. Progressive customization allows for constant improvement of tracking and workflows. There is a LOT of bang for your buck here.

Pros

It has taken a bit to learn how to navigate the help blogs and menus so that I get to the information I need. The search for these could be improved. I love the “real time” time and expense additions so that I can bill time and then invoice in the very next step. Invoicing quickly has helped me get my new business off the ground and some cash flow coming in. Color coding of the status on jobs is a wonderful addition and makes a quick glance to get info very easy. I’m getting better with the accounting side of things, and am still learning. BQE Core is doing what I need it to do to track jobs and invoicing. I feel it can grow along with my business.

Cons

It has taken a bit to learn how to navigate the help blogs and menus so that I get to the information I need. The search for these could be improved. Similar experience of learning how the invoicing adds various fields and to get a format that I like. Normal learning curves.

Cons

this software is more of a US product . i believe if this is to be sold to the Canadian market they need to make sure there are canadian taxes, for the most part. there are quite a few features that just dont compare to Deltek Vision....

Reason for choosing BQE CORE Suite

Overall experience is great. As mentioned we experiencing error free time tracking, billing and the presentation of invoices is far better.

Pros

We use the time, billing and accounting functions frequently and it has made my job a lot easier and smoother compared to tracking down expenses and time for the team members. Processing reports are simple as well. Less error of tracking time/expenses as compared to our previous software. Invoices are more accurate. Invoices look professional and clean.

Cons

Cannot think of anything at this time. We are really enjoying the software

Cons

I wish it would let you edit your entries from the timecard area without having to go into the entries list, but other than that I have no negatives.

We are loving the crisp user interface and customizable dashboards are definitely plus

Pros

After using BillQuick for more than 10 years we switched over to Core. The transition was extremely smooth. Core is an excellent product which my staff transitioned to with ease. The online tutorials were so good that staff just dove right in to working with Core with almost no support needed. Any questions that I have as I was setting things up were quickly answered but staff who are always quick to respond, extremely knowledgeable and always friendly. I would definitely recommend Core to anyone!

Cons

Cannot say 'least' but definitely would like to see incomplete time card notification feature that we used to enjoy. I was told it is on the road-map.

### "9 months into our migration to this new software and still not willing to cut the cord from our current accounting software"

If you are a single division company the migration to this process may be an easier process. But for our seven division business, making the move to BQE has been nothing less than a nightmare. Way more time spent than I expected (which is compounded by the fact that it is time I don't have). The fact that BQE is California based, effects their customer support efforts to those on the east coast ...at least in my experience it has. Be sure to spend a lot of time testing the software before you buy...I made the mistake of buying it based on their sales communications (which you be offered a lot of deals and promotions of the bells and whistles the software has)..I find that it is not easy to use and have found that my clerical support flat out hate using versus our current, more intuitive accounting software.

Pros

It's easy to get sold on it's capabilities and functionality. Real time dashboards and remote access to timesheets via any electronic device are very nice touches.

Cons

Despite being told it would be an easy transition, it has not been the case. Software is not nearly as intuitive as current software (QB), for my needs had to buy a report writing software (SAP) which also requires training. First time through with data conversion on four of our company files, two came back incomplete and wrong, one came back with our project structure flipped upside down, and we never got back the fourth file which may be because it was for a Canadian entity and despite being told they know how to handle the tax issues faced in Canada, we did not have that confidence in them, and we have yet to see the first run through of the data conversion three months after uploading the file. Customer support is also not as responsive as I'd like and I would say working with them is just another negative issue

We looked at many software before picking Core for our office. Overall we are very satisfied with BQE Core. The feature set it offers for the price is definitely a plus. A lot of room for the expansion in using Core.

Pros

It was important for us to get a software for time and expense tracking and invoicing which was simple to use and to the point. With Core we have successfully achieved that which means our staff no longer have to use Excel to keep track of time and expense on the cases. It has saved us time, it keeps the record of our data accurately and we enjoy the insightful reports. Now that our time and expense tracking worries are behind, the billing process to generate invoices is simpler and has resulted in better cash flow.

Cons

There needs to be an improvement in rolling scrolls. Sometime this process slows down.

Time is good and so is billing

Pros

I like using the invoicing and payments process, quick and easy to follow through with CEO and clients. Reports are also great, just trying to figure out the best reports to use takes time and experience. We also use the Retainer aspect which is helpful for our clients, much better than trying to keep track of in manually in excel or quickbooks. My monthly financial meetings with the CEO and Principal have become extremely efficient when using the AR Aging report with retainage by easily showing what is outstanding including the retainage portion is important for them to understand. The Account Transactions report have been helpful when reconciling with clients or even project managers the balances owing by phase.

Cons

Most times I have to hit enter twice for CORE to respond...not sure if I am keying too fast? Being Canadian I would like to see the verbiage of "Retainage" changed to Holdback. Having Retainer and Retainage on the same report can cause confusion here up North! LOL! We don't use the work retainage; we just call it holdback.

I have used BQE product for many years. The product is stable and pretty straight forward to use and today after a long time I needed customer support. The response as always was excellent and the problem I was experiencing was resolved.

Pros

I like the flexibility and design of the software once I gone through the learning curve. The reports are straight forward and give me all the insightful data without customizing.

Cons

I find the billing process steps a bit awkward but I am used to them now. It is annoying to have to look for the most recent invoice under Invoice Review once the invoice is processed as final.

Core has taken the headache out of entering time sheets daily/weekly and with selecting any of the new updated projects that I am currently working. Some things that would take 30 minutes no takes 5 minutes. I am always up to date with my most current vacation hours and PTO's. It also makes booking time and vacation simple and efficient. I recently had expenses that I needed to claim and that took 5 minutes vs unnecessary emailing random people, messaging for updated information. Its seemly and efficient. The updated Core is great!

Pros

Its seemly efficient and seemly to use.

Cons

It take s a bit to figure out where the vacation PTO request page is.

It has the essential features we need to manage project time and budgets. In general, it is a solid and reliable product. We have not had any significant problems over the course of using it

We have used it for quite a few years now and it has given us good insight into the firms overall performance on projects. We have used those results to fine tune or pricing. In general, it is a solid and reliable product. We have not had any significant problems over the course of using it. Support is very timely and accurate. Technical support team clearly knows the product well and has always helped in a timely and accurate manner.

Cons

We have not had any significant problems over the course of using it. At times the interface does require quite a few clicks to get things done.

Pros

This software makes it easier to track hours on projects to better understand profits and the overall productivity of the staff. It is the people at BQE that make a huge difference. Each and everyone of them I have interacted over the years have been amazing. All of them in customer service are tremendously helpful in setting up the software for my new firm. Same was the experience when I was doing this for another company. Support engineers walked me through the process with utmost patience and that tells you they love what they do.

Cons

Would like to have pull down options for tasks so not inventing wheel every time, more intuitive setup as that is time consuming

I have used much better tools than CORE. In a pinch, it gets the job done, but I've heard a lot of complaints from team members over the years and it might be worth it to look elsewhere to save yourself the headaches.

Pros

The tool is cloud-based, which makes entering time and expenses on the run easy. The app works as expected.

Cons

Lots of issues and downtime can be problematic when you're under a time crunch. The interface is clunky and not easy to navigate and use quickly.

Pros

When I have an issue or a problem, and I login and support is logged in right away to shadow me on showing me how to do exactly what it is, I need to do. And most of the support people are very very nice and patient.

Cons

When setting up a new client, I wish there weren’t so many different steps that you had to take to name that client. Because you want a client name you want a client ID and you want a client matter. We don’t go buy a client ID I just wanna be able to put the clients name and say basically with the case is about.

Bill quick is a perfect solution to create invoices and be able to bill many different attorneys on different projects.

Pros

The ability to customize many of its features is great. You can setup and keep track of time associated with various cases, clients, projects. There are so many reports that you can run to keep track of your spending. Able to export invoices to LEDES format. Able to import time from excel spreadsheet.

Cons

It takes some time to learn the software, the tech support team was great in getting me up and running. If you want additional reports they have a custom report group but their cost is a bit high to modify reports. It looks a bit complicated but actually it is easy to use.
