Used the software for: ### "Pleasantly surprised!" October 26, 2016 5.0 I have used a competitor for years which became problematic when its direction was changed. I found Itemize on the web and on the surface it looked to be a possible replacement. I spoke with their team during my evaluation and all my questions were answered. I have been using the premium offering for a couple of months and find it to be a great improvement over my old system. Rarely do I have to make any entry adjustments and reporting is fine. I save a great deal of time and can do entries on the fly so no waiting to build a stack of paper to upload. I am very satisfied with this solution. The photo OCR seems pretty good. I rarely have to adjust a receipt. When a tip is involved I always have to add that in. I would like to see it do a better job in the text boxes. It doesn't switch back to the alpha screen after punctuation and doesn't capitalize first words. Annoying when on a smart phone. " October 26, 2016 4.0 It is kind of slow when taking pictures of my receipts and uploading them to your server and sometimes, it crashes on me, one time causing all pics/receipts to get lost. My only misgivings come when dealing with larger receipts, like say from a grocery store, where many items are purchased and the receipt is longer. The app has had some problems in picking up the information. That problem probably has more to do with the size of the font/receipt than the app, but it has been a bit of a frustration. Other than that, my main displeasure isn't with the app so much as my use of it, which y'all can't control. My use has been spotty at best. My son even does this for me-great to be lazy!!! Cons: No offline mode Sometimes slow load (This doesn't really bother me) I don't know what some of the other reviews are talking about. I have had great customer service by just calling their number located on their website. However for my purposes, it works. When I'm traveling, I use Itemize to capture all of my receipts. Additionally, customizing reports is cumbersome and inadequate. Because some of the categories are available on the mobile app but not the desktop, it further complicates consistency when trying to run expense analysis. Itemize won hands down when it came to ease of use and functionality. I love the way it turns an image into a record. It saves so much time and you are more inclined to use the app. Another feature I love is the reporting ability. At tax time I run a report that lists all my work related expenses. Used the software for: ### "A great Introduction for the Not-so-Savey Techy " November 3, 2016 4.0 I used Itemize in my first job that required an expense account. The whole experience was very new! I will say getting use to everything takes time, but once you are over the initial learning curve the product is easy to use. The auto fill function works well for receipts and I like that you can just forward emails to your Itemize account. The only downside is some functions never worked for me- I could never get pictures to actually rotate and the email function had a time lag. Overall I would use it again in my next job.
