I am so happy I did. Perfect for qualitative analysis which is often more tricky to dissect. Pros So easy to use, visualize themes and to move things around as the data became clear! From there, a video about Quirkos emerged and I watched an introductory video about using Quirkos. After that I went to the Quirkos site and began researching prices, availability, etc. The price was so reasonable I thought to myself I couldn't do without the product and I was right! Imagine I was going to code my data using different colored post-it notes or different colored highlighting markers. Instead, I was able to create Quirks, or categories, which were easy to manipulate with the software's drag and drop features. In addition, the ability to create reports and classify data was also easy to use. At one point, I had a question about one of the features and someone from Quirkos returned my inquiry within 24 hours. The support was amazing and the product was simple to navigate, especially for someone who is not that tech savvy. In short, Quirkos is essential software for data analysis. Cons I can't say there was anything I didn't like about this product. It was very easy to use. Pros I really liked how easy the whole software was to use as well as the different colours that highlighted the text to make it easier to see what was done or not. Having the data password protected was very important to me for my research purposes. Cons The software was at time a little slow to load all the data but I had a lot and the design is a little out dated but it does the job and I was able tondo what I needed. Cons Un punto negativo del software es la imposibilidad de trabajar con otras fuentes de datos no textuales, es decir, información captada en formatos multimedia (videos, imágenes, audios). Thank you! Pros The visual representation and the options for how to organize each data point made it easier for me to identify important patterns and outliers in my qualitative interview data. Also, it was a huge time-saver to use the various text search choices as I worked through my iterative coding. Cons At first, I had some difficulty combining data points (quirks) and then separating them if I needed to, but this got easier as I kept going. I am also so grateful for all the useful blog posts and video content on YouTube explaining the various research philosophies and techniques for analysis - this piece of the puzzle was something that I had been struggling with, but clicked into place after watching just one nine minute video on YouTube - so thank you very much for creating these. I recommended and shared with some of my uni colleagues. Pros The software is very user friendly, I really enjoyed how easy it was to create codes and the drag feature was very handy. The overlap feature was perfect for the type of analysis required for my project. Initially I got a lot of value from the videos on YouTube explaining qualitative analysis, it was through these that I found the software in the first place. Cons I had some issues with pasting text into Source, I had to change the colour of the source text to white sometimes when pasting in - this could be a Mac problem, because I didn't experience this problem using a PC. I had some issues using the drag feature, again I think this is a Mac problem (I have the latest MacBook Air with M2 chip), but after trying out various wire and bluetooth mice (I should note that the mouse on the PC where it worked was bluetooth too so I don't think the issue is a mouse one), I discovered that I could use my touchpad. Support were very quick to respond, which was appreciated despite figuring it out for myself. This could be user error, but I found the overlap feature only presented in concentric circles using the desktop version and was not available in the Web version - this wasn't a problem in the end, as I just accessed it via the PC. If I was unable to travel to the PC then this may have presented a problem. Pros I greatly appreciate the visual color element to coding. I tend to work very well with color coded labeling, and this helped greatly in identifying different themes. Additionally, the colors make work more interesting, which, when you're spending hours upon hours analyzing, makes work much more interesting. This is what I have been waiting for. Cons I didn't get to try out every single feature, but I do think I needed a more thorough introduction to be able to smoothly get around, even thought I watched the video and went through the little arrows. I need more than a quick start. I had a few problems with how to do certain things, and unfortunately didn't figure out how to do them before the trial ended. Switched from [NVivo](https://www.capterra.com/p/171501/NVivo/) It's more affordable, it's more colorful, and I wanted to try something new. I think it might be simpler to use, but I'm not sure yet (haven't used it enough). Pros First and foremost, as mentioned in countless reviews, I too have found Quirkos to be the easiest CAQDA software to use. It allows me to focus on my work and not how to do it. Its coding visualization feature (visualizing individual quirks from my text data) is exceptionally powerful and again easy to implement right away. Additionally, two features for me that I found exceptionally powerful (since I work on both macs and windows) is the ease at which I can work cross platform. Since, the interface is the same on both macs and windows it is very easy to switch back and forth. Most importantly, I really found the autosave feature a lifesaver by keeping my most recent and up to date version always available to me (one computer at a time). Lastly, and to me, interestingly, although I have access to other more feature rich CAQDA software (NVIVO, Atlas.ti and MaxQDA), I use Quirkos most, I think due to its ease of use and ability to not interfere with my workflow between computers, albeit within the textual environment (rtf, txt, doc). In essence, it allows me to jump right in and get my work done. Cons I think at the top, would be its less robust feature set of working primarily with textual formats (text, word documents and rich text formats). Would like to see future support for pdf (natively) and multimedia objects in the future. Since most of my work deals with my pdfs, I have learned to work around this limitation by exporting my highlighted summaries from the pdfs sources and work with these snippets within Quirkos. Quirkos works perfectly within my workflow and create a nice export summary of all my relationships and insights.
