Setting up role assignments, rules, and workflows was fairly straightforward, and any challenges we encountered were minor. On those rare occasions, the onboarding team was incredibly responsive, helping us resolve issues by the next day and sometimes even the same day, despite the time zone difference. Overall, Calamari has proven to be a reliable, user‑friendly solution that has greatly improved how we manage leave. Pros My company switched to Calamari from a competitor about two years ago, and the difference has been night and day. What I love the most is that they will make it happen for you, if you have an idea of what you would like to accomplish, they not just explain how to, they will even do it for you if you are not able to do it yourself. Cons The portion size felt a bit small for the price. Some pieces were slightly overcooked, making them a bit chewy. The seasoning could have been more balanced, as it was slightly too salty. Pros We have found Calamari easy to use, and it offers just about everything we've needed. Installation was straight forward too. The team were very supportive and helpful, but we found that the product was very intuitive. Personally I always prefer a trial rather than a demo (which often does not reveal weaknesses). Calamari were happy for me to trial the system warts and all..... although we didn't really find any warts. Cons Difficult to think of any weakness. The system is intuitive, transparent and significantly improves absence management — both for employees and the HR department. Pros Booking a holiday takes just a few clicks, and the entire company has a real-time overview of who is absent and when. Cons I have reservations about the configuration of holiday limits. In my opinion, this area is not very intuitive and quite complicated, especially with more complex rules (e.g. different types of contracts, proportional calculation, transfer of unused days). Our employees have been very happy with the switch. Cons Because of the customization options, it was a little complicated to set up--we definitely needed support for that. But, the team from Calamari was very responsive and helped us get it set up correctly.
