"We are pleased with the functionality of the TPL software and the technical support available. "
Overall: In 2003 an internal task force examined estimating software packages available. Considerations important to the team were rated/scored including: User Friendly - Cost - Technical Support - Scheduling Capability - Costing Capability - Create Subcontracts & PO's - Copy Other Estimates - Blank Tender Forms - Subcontract Comparisons - Estimating Capacity - Link to Internet - Accept Electronic Tendering. The Ministry of Transportation for the Province of Ontario undertook a similar study and unknown to us at the time, selected the TPL (LUQS International) estimating software as well. Our selection team reported that the TPL software had the features we were looking for with the necessary technical support required and at a relatively agreeable cost. After a transition period the software was reformatted to work on a head office server. This permits access to the system from various divisional offices. The transition from individual estimator method, to a company wide system is not easily accomplished. Of course there is no tool available that can replace an estimator's understanding of the scope of work and the work plan that must be introduced within the bid to be implemented for a successful bid. It is our goal to continue to move forward in standardizing company wide estimating. Review of bids is streamlined, record keeping is maintained and the sharing of information between individual estimators is enhanced. We look forward to our continued association with the TPL organization.

Overall: a must have in the world of construction
Pros: very powerfull to join material resources and workforce under production. you can generate price request form and compare your material ressources. upload the prices after comparison is done. apply overtime fee for some activities.
Cons: complicated when you go off the beaten path. a lot of general data and parameter that you dont really need. but is offer in the price
"Recently moved to TPL Estimate. Still working out the kinks, but progressing in right direction."
Overall: We recently started using TPL Estimate in our office (less than 6 months). We are moving from using an in-house bidding system. PROS: -helped eliminate some of the bugs that go along with our in-house system -good for bid closing -will help with job-costing (since the resources are matched up to the appropriate tender items) -good technical support from TPL when we call looking for help CONS: -it's been tough shifting from the old system to the new system. It requires us to re-think about how we bid jobs. It takes time to make that transition. -we only bid a few jobs per week, so we're not getting as much practice with the system as we would like. This means that it is taking us longer to become proficient with the system, and we even forget some of the things we learn from previous jobs. It is currently taking us a bit longer to bid jobs in TPL than in the old system. Overall, we believe that TPL Estimate will be good for us. We just need to get some experience and manage the change in the process.

Overall: We have been long time users of TPL Estimate and the previous ProjEst versions. TPL is an estimator's software, meaning you can make it work the way you need it to, and it allows you to organize your projects as needed. TPL's standard reports are quick and easy. Custom report creation can sometimes be tedious, but TPL is extremely flexible to the user's requirements. TPL is a time saver when using with your existing resource data base. TPL really shines when you have to make changes to any part of the estimate. Bid scenarios and re-calculations are immediately available for those last minute requirements, and new proposals are quick and easy. Whether your work is in the Public or Private sector, TPL's performance is very much appreciated.
"TPL Estimate - Fanstastic Program"
Overall: This program really help speed up estimating projects. The ability to put together assemblies for parts that are always used together speeds up the bidding process. Vendor Interaction is great for sending quote requests, inputting them as they are returned and checking for the lowest supplier. The Tech Support is fantastic, anytime you have an issue they are very prompt and helpful.
"Just what we need"
Overall: Once you are familiar with the software, it's quite easy to use, and allows the user to pretty much manipulate/adjust the estimate & pricing however he/she would like. Use it to enter estimate items, materials, labor & equipment, material and sub quotes. Can spread profits and indirect costs multiple ways as well, and run all kinds of reports for analysis purposes.
"TPL Estimate is Fast Reliable and Accurate"
Overall: We have been using TPL for 9 Years, and are still very happy with the product. It allows for easy collaboration and fast and efficient estimates. The program is bug-free and has been incredibly reliable over our 9 years.
