Making my maps have been easy and fun. Pros In Real Estate there are so many moving parts and so many systems and processes. Once I tried MindMeister to help keep my processes in front of me, I noticed I was becoming more organized and less forgetful from stress overload. Associate Professor Education Management Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Not the best product for a casual mapping guy like me" October 31, 2019 3.0 I was trying to solve the first stage of a research project. How to picture the whole process: reading, drafting, and proofreading an academic article. I use maps especially for the drafting part: I sketch the whole article and I include in the map some direct quotes I have to include, which arguments I have to make in every part and so on. Pros \-The best thing was the option of testing the product for free, with up to three maps. -It is also objectively a strength of the app how customizable every map can be. But, as I explain later, that is a little overwhelming for casual, simplistic users like me. Cons The interface is not as smooth and friendly as other mapping apps I have used. There are a lot of options to insert colors, symbols, and images. But, for me, it was distracting and it required a little bit too much of a learning curve. That is why I finally discarded it, after a few tries. Switched from [Coggle](https://www.capterra.com/p/162678/Coggle/) I finally did not make the switch. I was testing both, perhaps not at the same time, but I was exploring if there was a better tool. And, well, I stuck to Coggle. It does not take much time arranging ideas (a wide range of themes, layouts) or decorating it to our liking. Most crucially, it does help me retrieve info logically and not become overwhelming. With it I have all the resources for creating my maps and with that I can better visualize my ideas and projects. Pros I really like the keyboard shortcuts, because it allows the quick construction of children on the map, a function to return to the center of the map, a function of history of changes. Would like to move to a subscription to use its full potential, but struggle to accept the price point (just yet). Pros MindMeister really is an excellent tool to map whatever is going through your mind. It's really easy to use, mostly intuitive and it can handle and display complex maps. Love it. Cons It still is mostly about price - I am happy to pay for MindMeister, but nothing close to what I would pay for a whole Microsoft Office package (no offence...). I was pleased to see this could transfer to computer format. I found it fairly easy to use. I’m not very tech savvy so this is a big bonus for me.
