As more companies adapt low code solutions they will definitely be the front runner for such solutions . Pros K2 Smartforms and blackpearl was an easy transition from an C# SQL .net developer background to their latest Technologies. No more tedious code to step through , easy code control , GREAT deployment features with ease of use . Pros The combination of easilly creating maps, sharing them with the organisation and storing these in one system for easy access. Cons Smaller technical functions could be improved such as copy and paste activities between maps, ability to hide tags and the build in the ability to loops. Through the maps we have found people more likely to follow the process / procedure that the map applies to Pros The ability to configure without being an IT geek. The system comes with standard settings which are really easy to change to suit your business. Promapp has a look and feel that is familiar to most users so it so "comfortable". As a quality manager in a regulated environment I am also a huge fan of the audit trail that the system maintains - every change is tracked and logged. Our overall experience with Nintex has been less positive, it is more of a corporate organization and seems to be lacking the personal touch we experience with Promapp. we have found Nintex very rigid and unwilling to work with loyal customer needs. Pros Assisted in defining business processes and employee roles. Tied in multiple roles within the business. Inducting and training new staff simpler and more time-efficient. A useful tool for refining and simplifying business processes. Cons Following a review, comments were required, this can become time-consuming and not beneficial in all cases. The construction of a process is very simple and intuitive, with tags and a description each process can be described exactly. Processes are easy to map and new users can be quickly integrated into the new system. So far Promapp has reduced onboarding time for new staff, given us a central depository for all our processes, and has given us a way to receive suggestions and feedback (in a productive way) to encourage process improvement. We used to keep everything in SharePoint in individual files that were stored in many different locations, all written in a different way. Promapp gives us more control as to who can write and edit processes. Cons A bit of a learning curve for process writers, but ultimately not an issue once you get used to it. It has a pretty steep learning curve unless you're a programmer/admin. Support is very responsive with any questions, however, so getting a resolution should be quick and easy. Pros \+ Easy to install and fast to learn and implement. + Easy to get a quick solution up and running! + Designing a working solution in a matter of minutes rather than weeks or months with custom coded solutions. + Simple drag and drop interface allows you to demo other end users on how to use it and enable other areas of the business to create their own workflows, thus engaging them throughout the process. Cons \-> Troubleshooting a workflow is a cryptic process. Adding "Log history" is a good debugging approach, but if there was a way to "Preview" the workflow somehow it would be awesome! -> Performance: If it is installed in On-premises version of SharePoint you might have no issues but if it is installed in online/O365 application performance is very slow and would definitely need improvements in performance aspect. -> If we have an option to restart the workflow at any particular stage, it would be more helpful. -> I don't think it will scale well for Big projects. Since it is so tightly integrated with SharePoint, we cannot move Nintex with solutions that have outgrown the recommended SharePoint list size. -> Would be nice if we can increase/decrease the viewing area so that we can see more actions of the workflow. -> I think adding more features like Reminders can help end users. It improves and expands the capabilities of SharePoint workflows significantly and allows for a lot of functionality that is not possible with the SharePoint 2010 workflows, plus you do not have to install the obsolete Workflow Manager in 2019. Cons I am glad that SharePoint on premises is still supported. This is where the strength of the software is. March 7, 2018 5.0 Pros Being able to merge documents into templates for our staff. We are a legal firm and we need to have the ability to create many documents based on our Salesforce instance. Whenever I have a chance, I recommend Foxtrot to others. Pros It is easy to use and there seems to be no limit. We use Foxtrot not only for mass file maintenance, but we use it as a loan interface to set up loans, we use foxtrot to extract information, and use Foxtrot in place of a tax service interface. I like the simple drag and drop feature of the target. I've used Foxtrot for almost 20 years and each version gets better. I enjoy the latest update as it allows me to see more of what's going on. It would easier to determine what I don't like. Having become foxtrot certified, we are able to do much more. Cons The one thing I found with the latest version (12.3) is when importing data (specifically a .csv file), if the file is currently open in excel, I am unable to import the file into Foxtrot. Also, if I am running different scripts one after the other, I find that I have to close out of Foxtrot completely in between scripts, otherwise I am unable to import the new data. November 18, 2018 5.0 Pros Is there anything you can't like about the Foxtrot? It is all-in-one tool for all automation needs within the Windows environment (and more). What I like about Foxtrot the most is that no matter what do you need to automate, you can always do it many different ways. Also you don't have to be some rocket scientist or programmer, you can start automating with Foxtrot even if you know just how to use all the software you are using on daily basis within your work. On the top of that, Foxtrot has a group of amazing people behind, who are always here to help you! Cons There is nothing on my mind at the moment. Usually a response to a question is received within the same day. The answers usually include helpful additional information as well like tutorial links, manuals etc. Pros \- Easy to use - Great way of visualizing processes - Outstanding customer support - Maps that show processes are very clear Cons \- Attachments can be saved in specific formats only - Display of images in processes is not very clear - Linking a process with other processes does not work all the time depending on where the link is placed. - Entering Inputs/Outputs is not easy understandable for a user - Small adjustments to the processes take quite a while. Cons Performance of the Systems, it takes times to load the Nintex form in SharePoint online, take time to start workflow, no option to track status (Cannot show in visual as in Nintex Workflow for SharePoint 2010) of the workflow instance, the system/workflow is currently not support setup delegation. Pros As far as the Workflow and Forms products for SharePoint, it has no equal in the SharePoint world. You can create custom and advanced forms and complex workflows to do nearly any job imaginable. They have a great community and there are many consultants available for anyone to work with Nintex programs. The customization and automation we were able to put in place with Nintex let our entire organization be more efficient . Cons It is an IT piece of software and therefore few users will be comfortable with using it. But as an IT professional or SharePoint admin that understands logic and flow, it's the best software available. Also the cost is expensive, especially with the subscription model.
