A tool for modern and successfull CFO, I will take it with me wherever I go

Comments: I first selected GIDE while CFO of a regional airport. We developed a group of models taking into account complete set of drivers of our business including the number of landings, passengers, seat utilisation, MTOW, retail space, ground handling services, etc. We also created individual P&Ls for each of the airport¿s major airlines, giving us incredible insight that helped in negotiations over the contract conditions.

GIDE helped us tremendously not only during budgeting, planning, and new set up for management reporting, but also in capital raising. We raised some ¿50 million from a consortium of banks and GIDE was the tool we used to prepare all the numbers (P&L, BS, CF, KPIs) which the banks requested, during pre- as well as post-raising periods. After leaving the airport I took GIDE with me to my next assignment, the CFO of a media house. In the middle of the budgeting period we acquired a new business, we were also in the process of changing our accounting to IFRS, and closing some other business units. If it were not for the flexibility and agility of GIDE I do not know how we could have coped with all that in the very short period of time that we had.

What I like about GIDE is the level of budget vs actual accuracy we were able to achieve - between 90- 95%. Its ability to be modified quickly when new business requirements sprang up and the great support we received covering not only software aspects but also business and financial consulting. And surprisingly, GIDE is quite inexpensive for what it does.

In my role of an interim CFO, I ensure to recommend that my clients implement GIDE.

Comments: We have started to use GIDE this year to support our budgeting, strategic planning and modelling. We began with a trial and were actually quite impressed with GIDE¿s holistic approach to our needs. After some time we found many other features that we did not expect it to have. GIDE also actually works well as business intelligence above our SAP and other systems, for both financial as well as operational data. It consolidates departments and projects in our company as well as our daughter and JV companies within our business model, converts currencies, handles various source data files, etc.

Prior to GIDE, we had literally vacuum cleaned the internet and tried several products on the market, as we were sick and tired of using spreadsheets. Unlike with others, we got to see the results (data models and reports) from GIDE very quickly. Despite lots of ongoing changes to our data structures and reports since then, GIDE coped well with any modifications needed.

It feels that GIDE has business finance people behind its development; a business user friendly and comprehensive interface, many instantly available features and data views, flexible, all the `dots¿ appear connected.

And we very much appreciate the excellent support from the GIDE team.

Asset Management Tool - Forget using Xcel Spreadsheets in your Company

Comments: For quite some time now we have used GIDE as our primary software tool to monitor several of our investments in Europe, the US and Asia. While it takes a bit of effort to first get acquainted with the software (however, no longer than it would take someone to learn all the tricks of the trade using xcel) we found that with GIDE the accuracy and speed of our financial monitoring has significantly improved (eliminating human cell command mistakes in xcel). Forecasting several multi-currency scenarios is now easy as the software is flexible to adapt to every imaginable scenario which in turn improved our overall risk management. We can only recommend a product trial to anyone working in our industry!
