Pros

Powerpoint is a strong tool, but it lags behind modern presentation design software and the user experience reflects that. You can still reach a great result, but it takes more time and effort.

Pros

Powerpoint has so many tools to put together customized and unique presentation decks. It has a longstanding legacy and powerpoint files are compatible across almost all major file presentation platforms.

Cons

PowerPoint shows its age in the way it guides you through the design process. Tools are less intuitive than competitor platforms and it can lead to less consistent and precise designs. Overall the tools need a simplification and overhaul to catch up.

Pros

With Microsoft PowerPoint, making custom slide designs is highly accessible. There are also lots of pre-made slide designs available that are just waiting for your content.

Cons

For me, Microsoft PowerPoint is still reliable for those who have enough skill to use it, but for other people, Canva is better.

It's been a key tool for several years. I use it for every presentation, and I present several times per week. I regularly watch YouTube videos to stay an advanced user.

Pros

I love great presentations and PowerPoint is my goto. I've spent many years learning its tips and there is so much it can do to WOW an audience.

Cons

It's not the software but the way it is used. Too many people use PowerPoint without understanding the difference between a presentation and a document.

Overall, Microsoft PowerPoint is a great tool for presenting information. It is easy to put together, saves automatically, and can be exported with ease.

Pros

Microsoft PowerPoint is very easy to use, rarely has bugs and issues, and is a great value for money. It is user friendly.

Cons

I least like the design elements. It does not cultivate creativity naturally. The customization is limited because of this.

Pros

Versatility and number of options for use within app have steadily grown over time, making it even better for creating quality presentations.

My overall experience with PowerPoint has been really good. It’s still the tool I’d trust most for professional presentations because it’s familiar, flexible and accepted almost everywhere. The core product is really good, but the AI integrations feel like they’re still catching up. For now, PowerPoint remains the golden standard for slides, with room to improve on AI-assisted creation.

Pros

PowerPoint is still the standard for creating slide presentations. It’s reliable, widely recognised and easy to share across teams, clients and businesses. I like that it gives you a lot of control over layout, branding, formatting and presentation flow. The Microsoft 365 integration is also a big advantage, especially when working with Teams, Outlook, Word and Excel

Cons

The AI features could be better. Copilot can help with outlines, slide drafts, edits and summaries, but other presentation tools already feel more advanced and easier for AI-led slide creation. PowerPoint’s AI support is useful, but it doesn’t yet feel as natural or creative as it could be
