### "brilliant presentation editor for anybody"

May 12, 2026

5.0

Really positive, the upgrades in tools and templates have been fantastic over the years, including some really slick animation slides and shadows.

Pros

It's still the simplest presentation creation platform to use. Keeping the same user interface whilst adding useful tools, templates and features has been a key reason it's still my go-to.

Cons

For the price point of the software it's really hard to find negatives about it, as the platform does many tasks incredibly well. One feature that could be improved in my opinion is the ease of removing background from images, with many sites now finder introvert ways on acheiving this Microsoft Powerpoint still lacks a quick and crisps removal of backgrounds.

### "Great Microsoft PowerPoint"

April 9, 2026

5.0

Overall I would say that Microsoft PowerPoint is amazing and I have had a great experience using it over the past few years!

Pros

I like that you can create your own power points with Microsoft PowerPoint and that it is easy to use. You can use templates that are already incorporated in it, or make your own. Great customer support and value for money, no bugs or issues and it is great for video editing and document management!

Cons

The only thing that I can say that I dislike about Microsoft PowerPoint is that sometimes I have issues with incorporating my own video or voice over into my power points, which is something that I have needed to do for an assignment for a class.

Switched from

I made the switch because Microsoft PowerPoint has great template choices available to use as well as the video and voiceover options, which I think is awesome!

### "The former leader in presentations"

June 3, 2026

2.0

Powerpoint is a strong tool, but it lags behind modern presentation design software and the user experience reflects that. You can still reach a great result, but it takes more time and effort.

Pros

Powerpoint has so many tools to put together customized and unique presentation decks. It has a longstanding legacy and powerpoint files are compatible across almost all major file presentation platforms.

Cons

PowerPoint shows its age in the way it guides you through the design process. Tools are less intuitive than competitor platforms and it can lead to less consistent and precise designs. Overall the tools need a simplification and overhaul to catch up.

### "PowerPoint is still the presentation go-to"

May 19, 2026

Good experience creating a variety of presentations, be they simple or complex and design-intensive, with functionality being consistent throughout product.

Pros

Versatility and number of options for use within app have steadily grown over time, making it even better for creating quality presentations.

Cons

The insertion of outside content, be it audio or video or some other type, is often still a challenge and not nearly as seamless as it should be at this point.

### "Microsoft Power Point: The Best in Presentation Software"

April 30, 2026

5.0

Overall, I am quite impressed with MS PowerPoint. Using it to create presentations for clients or complex corporate structure charts has made look like a dependable professional and that's what really matters when it comes to what makes the cut in my tech stack.

Pros

MS PowerPoint helps me create clean, concise and simple projects/presentations for both clients I work with and other professionals. It's easy to use, has very little to no bugs or issues, and can incorporate multi-media aspects (e.g. videos) with ease.

Cons

There aren't many cons that come to mind, but I have had some issues with some specialized charts not formatting properly, which did some create issues for me when I was preparing important charts for a client.

### "Versatility and a wide range of tools"

July 14, 2025

5.0

I use PowerPoint for various purposes, such as presentations, project boards, educational materials, flowcharts, and even content for social media, often replacing other, more specialized software due to the greater creative freedom it offers. Recent updates have introduced features that bring it closer to image and video editing programs.

Pros

What I like most about PowerPoint is its ease of use and the fact that it's part of the Microsoft Office suite. Even those without design experience can create presentations using basic or advanced tools with a clear, organized, and functional aesthetic.

Cons

The lack of precision in measurements and scale. Although it is not a technical drawing software, using PowerPoint to support architectural project presentations is limited by the difficulty in maintaining alignment and consistent scale across slides.

### "\*\*A Reliable and Versatile Presentation Tool\*\*"

February 4, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience with Microsoft PowerPoint has been largely positive and reliable. It’s a powerful, familiar tool that makes creating and presenting information straightforward, whether for school, work, or presentations to large audiences

Pros

What I liked most about Microsoft PowerPoint is how quickly it lets you turn ideas into something visual and shareable. It’s flexible enough for everything

Cons

What I liked least about Microsoft PowerPoint is that it can encourage cluttered, text-heavy slides if you’re not careful. It’s easy to overuse animations and transitions

### "PowerPoint - Old Faith Is Still Around"

March 21, 2025

4.0

I was once Microsoft Certified on all products including PowerPoint. The overall shell hasn't changed in the last 15-20 years. It is a handy 'go to' in a pinch. But I'm learning from younger professionals how they can jump into Google or other software and make some really exciting presentations in half the steps and time.

Pros

PowerPoint continues to be a main staple for a quick pinch presentation to a small to medium sized group. I think it's bound to stick around. Microsoft is looking at the competitors and seeing more options for presentations. I think PP will always be the starter for any good office setting.

Cons

It's gotten really kind of aged hasn't it? I mean they are repackaging old features and enhancing them to stay relevant. But realistically one could easily pull off a presentation on Google and easily share and collaberate.

Alternatives considered

[Visme](https://www.capterra.com/p/153139/Visme/)[Google Workspace](https://www.capterra.com/p/247901/Google-Workspace/)[Fotor](https://www.capterra.com/p/181589/Fotor/)[Prezi](https://www.capterra.com/p/140325/Prezi-Business/)

Reason for choosing Microsoft PowerPoint

It was simple - it was included the overall suite our company purchased since we are PC office. I don't hate PowerPoint, but compared to its peers, it's lackluster and underwhelming in today's market.

### "Reliable and Easy-to-Use Presentation Tool"

November 20, 2025

5.0

PowerPoint continues to be one of the best tools for presentations. It’s reliable, flexible, and powerful enough for anything from quick meeting updates to full professional decks. Whether working alone or collaborating with a team, the workflow is smooth and intuitive. Despite a few small quirks, it remains my go-to platform for creating polished and engaging presentations.

Pros

Microsoft PowerPoint is incredibly versatile and easy to use for creating professional presentations. I really like how many templates, design ideas, and layout options it offers it makes building slides fast and visually appealing. The integration with Microsoft 365 apps is seamless, and features like animations, transitions, and embedded media help bring presentations to life. Collaboration is also smooth, especially when multiple people need to edit or review slides.

Cons

Some advanced design features can feel hidden or take time to learn. Large presentations with a lot of media can slow down or lag, especially when switching between slides. Cloud syncing works well most of the time, but occasionally changes take a moment to appear.

### "The Easiest Presentation You've Created"

July 5, 2025

The skills I've acquired with Microsoft PowerPoint have proved to be useful in my life. I've been using PowerPoint since I was in middle school and it has taught me that a lot of good work IS about presentation.

Pros

Microsoft PowerPoint has become integral to my every-day work life and a tool for tasks I never expected to use it for. It's easy to use and can also be quite fun when you've got an eye for creativity.

Cons

I think the only thing I dislike about Microsoft PowerPoint is that the web version doesn't have some of the same features as the desktop app.

### "Effective and User-Friendly Presentation Tool"

August 23, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with Microsoft PowerPoint has been positive. It is a powerful tool that helps me create clear and visually appealing presentations. The features for adding text, images, charts, and animations make it easy to share ideas effectively.

Pros

I like Microsoft PowerPoint because it is easy to use. It helps me present my ideas clearly with slides. I enjoy adding pictures, charts, and designs. It makes my presentations more interesting and engaging. Microsoft PowerPoint offers good value as it provides many useful features for creating presentations. PowerPoint has many ready-made templates that help create professional-looking slides quickly. It allows basic video editing like trimming clips, but it’s not as advanced as specialized video software. Support is available through Microsoft’s help center, but sometimes finding quick answers can be hard.

Cons

Sometimes PowerPoint files can be too large to share easily. It can be hard to keep the audience’s attention. Animations and transitions sometimes do not work smoothly. Working with many images may slow down the program.

### "Training Opportunities "

January 4, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience is positive as I love the ability to create a slide show to help in the training of new employees or even for staff meetings.

Pros

What I like about Microsoft PowerPoint is the ability to provide a slide show during meetings to staff members or to better explain a new policy, software, or communication method. It's a great way of training someone new.

Cons

What I least like about it is the ability to get used to it. I use this to conduct easier to use method for training the new employees and sometimes it can get confusing to make it more interesting by adding effects to make the slideshow interesting and not basic.
