Comments: I changed my retail store to this software when we were one location; we have expanded to two more stores in three states total, and I love that the product grew with the company. It is a great synchronous mastermind behind the scenes!

Pros: The fields are fairly easy to customize, which could be good for a variety of businesses. The software works quickly, on a good internet connection, and syncs very well. The product inventory is also easy to edit, and the invoicing system works seamlessly. I love the minimalist design, which is modern and easy to navigate. The customer records are also great, better than any other database.

Cons: Not a lot of offline features; also lacking a great e-communications/marketing aspect so I have to use other vendors.

Pros: Lightspeed is a really great, user friendly point of sale. It's online, and offers a lot of functionality.

Cons: There isn't alot when it comes to customization of certain things, for instance the receipt or product labels. Customer support can take forever and they are always in a hurry to let you go so that they can help the next customer.

Pros: This software has been a great addition to our family business. The ease of adding inventory into the system and ringing out a customer is beyond what I hoped for. No more paper sales receipts or digging through boxes for serial numbers.

Cons: When an item is not in the database it is hard to add one to your inventory. I do like that LightSpeed will preload vendor item numbers for you but a lot of older items are no longer in the databases.

Terrible.

Cons: They have many known bugs with the product that they are unwilling to fix. We have contacted them and on every occasion, we get the run around about contacting the development team to address the issue or trying to solve it with some sort of workaround. We don't need workarounds for issues that should and do function on many other POS systems. Limited Hardware options that integrate and limited when choosing payment processors. Customer service is of no help. So they will contact development team regarding your problem and nothing gets accomplished.

Comments: Overall I think I have made a great choice for our business.

Pros: It has great documentation on how-to-do each part of the website. The customer support staff are very friendly and helpful to the customers. I have chosen to set up the site myself so it has taken a little longer than I previously thought it would. However the support staff has been so helpful. When I have things fully functional it will be an amazing site.

Pros: Continued evolution and new features being added. Customer service can be good if you hang up on the new people and keep calling until you get someone that is knowledgeable.

Cons: Missing a core element of a POS that they refuse to fix while they continue to add new features. They need to focus on the core. Any retail environment that orders products by the case for any reason will be fed up with this system. The case item when broken down into singles do not communicate with each other for re-ordering. So if you set a level of singles say at 6 you would like the system to trigger an order of 1 case, it will not work. Huge inventory and ordering issues because of this. D- rating with BBB and not even accredited.

Pros: Has many great features and always adding new ones. Customer support is spotty but if you keep hanging up and calling again, you will usually get someone that can help you properly.

Cons: You cannot have or order any items that are not singles through the POS. Meaning if you order any items by the case, the system will not recognize the single case items for re-ordering. This results in a huge mismanagement of inventory and tons of problems ordering.

Cons: The ecommerce platform is a total joke and is in need of a massive UX overhaul. On top of being a pain to use, it has very few options for themes and plugins, which is a quick way to end up with a website that looks terrible and out of date. There is little to no documentation on most subjects, and what does exist is vague and not very helpful. The store search functionality is full of holes, you will regularly have trouble finding items via search, on top of being an absolute mess. There are many other problems, but the real big one is horribly slow support turnaround, which at times is not even remotely helpful.

Comments: I have used this system for approximately 5 years and the team at LightSpeed have continually made improvements. I believe it is a super easy POS to use and the monthly rate makes sense as it is not residing on a single computer. I would recommend and have recommended this product to others.

Pros: Lightspeed is very user friendly. It is super easy to get your new employees trained on this POS. The system is easy to pick up. I also appreciate the ease of creating a purchase order in the system. I can't say enough about having cloud access with this POS system. I can work from anywhere! I use the reports and graphs a lot even though I work with an inventory management system. It seems to give me accurate information for future ordering

Cons: Inventory can be it's downfall. I have spoken with several different retailers and it is consistent about being inconsistent in running totals. I review it weekly just to make sure prior to ordering. I also don't like that the margin is incorrect! One must use a profit margin tool to make sure your markup is consistent with what it needs. Last thing that the system does not have is PO's by category or show inventory assets received in cost and retail. It only shows it in cost which can be cumbersome as our products have several different margins.

Pros: Lightspeed is a good solution for point of sale in a retail environment. It's also useful for customer database, keeping track of inventory, creating reports to track sales, etc.

Cons: There's needs to be more control allocating products so it does not show as available in inventory if set aside for impending use/sale.

Pros: It was a revolutionary tool for us in South Africa when we first started using the system in our restaurant in 2013. It eliminated errors in orders by the waitrons as orders were taken immediately at the table as opposed to the waitron memorising the order and punching it into the system. It also assisted in getting dishes to the patrons much faster as orders went directly to the kitchen with little delay. The stock functionality was also very useful to us.

Cons: Based in South Africa and the exchange rate being extremely volatile at the time, the monthly premium was sometimes quite expensive.

Overall: We started using the software at a time when very few people were using apps to take restaurant orders. It was revolutionary for our market and soon many followed the trend.

Comments: Overall, Lightspeed has been a lifesaver compared the first POS system I was given to use for my bookstore. I would recommend them!

Pros: User-friendly, intuitive - very low learning curve, clean, easy to read screens, great reports functionality.

Cons: When emailing an order I wish that there were some kind of confirmation sent to my email or that the status would automatically change to from "open" to "ordered". Also, when I am searching through the special order list I would like for it not to automatically go back to the top of the list after every change I make. Sometime I need to make several changes in a row for a particular customer and I would like for my cursor to stay where it is after the change.

Comments: There purchasing orders need work. If your a store that deals many orders like a convenience, grocery, liquor store etc. This system is not for you. It's unable to track inventory correctly unless your receive the order immediately before it's out on your shelves. The inventory is unable to go negative which makes it a huge hassle to double check inventory constantly. Your restricted to only a couple credir card processors. There are a couple more cloud based systems on the market around the same price range that have been more stable over the years. I would stay away they may be going bankrupt since they all the customers will be switching after this year because of the performance issues of being down so often

Pros: They got a large staff to apologize for the constant outages that occur with there software English speaking customer service Sleek design Mobile Friendly Comprehensive Reporting

Cons: I've had the system for a little over a year now and it has had glitches at least 10 times to where it is unusable and you have to go cash only. Point of Sale systems cannot have that many issues in one year. It's unacceptable.

Pros: We bought Lightspeed Retail for our shop and bar in London in March. On the surface it all looked perfect for what we needed. Four months on and I'm still undecided as it's still not properly set up yet.

Cons: The biggest issue that I have come across so far (and everybody in my opinion should be aware of this before purchasing the wireless printer) is that you have to have the print receipt function on if you want the cash drawer to automatically open after each sale. If you have the 'print receipt' function switched to off then the iPad won't talk to the printer, which won't talk to the cash drawer. When I asked the support, whether there was a way round this she told me if I don't want to print receipts then I have to open the drawer manually with the key. I just find this incredible! Not only is it a massive waste of paper to have the print feature on all the time, but its a massive security issue for me to have the keys dangling in the drawer all the time. To me it appears that the star printers are out to make a tidy buck on the till rolls, because I cannot believe that there is not the technology to bypass the the print receipt feature and get the printer talking to the cash drawer without printing the receipt

Pros: The low up-front cost of Lightspeed's system was my initial draw, and I'm very happy with the results since. Customer service responds to the few minor problems that I have had, and sometimes our suggestions as to improvements of the software are actually implemented, making you feel as though Lightspeed is interested in providing a quality product.

Cons: While my salesperson was great, I've heard from others that they've experienced pushy or rude salespeople. That, however, is hearsay so I can't put too much weight in it. Every POS system has its problems, but I appreciate that Lightspeed actually seems interested in improving.

Comments: I have always found that support is extremely helpful and will even call back to follow up. When their is a Canada wide issue the wait times are longer but it is very unusual for me to wait any longer then 5 minutes.

Pros: The ease of updating information is extremely nice for our restaurant. When it is busy the kitchen does not get clogged up because our servers can print the orders before moving on to the next table.

Cons: We only have a couple of cons: first that the developer has yet to enable two colour printing on the kitchen bills. Second any power surge I need to update the IP address on both printers.

Comments: Overall the software is amazing and the good outweighs the bad and a tested about 10 different PoS softwares when I was shopping around and none of them encompass everything I have mentioned so i know my expectations are very high....which is why I state again...if they added in these features it would make them industry leaders and really a phenomenal PoS system. (its 90% of the way there for me...just a few more features and if would be the best)

Pros: The integration with xero accounting has been a true time saver for my business. It transfers all sales data at the end of the day seamlessly so I don't have to. The ability to use the front end off site has been super helpful as well as it doesn't tie me down to the store and I can do a lot of my work on the go. Creating products, invoicing clients, setting up the main screen custom to what I want is extremely simple once you run through it once.

Cons: Theres a few simple features that are missing from the PoS software which I would like to see integrated and would make it hands down the best in the industry for small businesses. 1) Getting an integrated payment terminal that accepts chip, pay pass and swipe options would avoid any mistakes between manually punching in the amounts on the debit/credit machine and would avoid any back end work after the day closes to be able to balance the day 2) Allowing me to enter the details of the invoices (supplier name, invoice number, total amount being paid, gst, pst, etc.) that are being paid out on a daily basis and having that information transferred to xero would alleviate tons of paper work after the close of the day. 3) There is no way to pull out a month end statement for corporate clients that pay their account once a month. Checks have to be cross referenced manually with the bills that have been put on tab. You should be able to at the very least select which tab invoices are being paid from the list of invoices on the clients account. This would show which ones are outstanding at a glance rather than having to refer back to the paper invoices that the system creates. 4) A front facing screen to display pricing of items being charged, advertisements, and other information is something I have been asking for since day 1 (3 years now). And I would love to see this feature incorporated. 5) Having the ability to offer a discount for a bulk purchase is something that should be automatic. ie: if you buy 1 cookies its $0.99 but if you buy 6 cookies its $5.00. It should do this automatically after punching in 6 cookies...but it doesn't...I have to have another button for "6 cookies" ...small issue but still a bit annoying. Each item in the product section should just have an option to sell at a cheaper price by "x" quantity.

Comments: Their sales people will tell you the software does everything you need, but it will not. The amount of work it takes to enter products is beyond ridiculous. You have to enter the same info multiple times to get it to work right. Customer service is a joke. You wait forever & once you get them on the phone they don't even know how to work the software themselves. When your problem gets elevated to someone who is supposed to know about your issue they tell you to call customer service to get help. WTF!?!! If your website doesn't work the way they tell you it's supposed to they tell you to call a web designer. Are you kidding me!? So when you call the web designer they refer you to the designer says they don't have the knowledge to do anything with Lightspeed websites yet, but they will. What!?!? Is this the Twilight Zone!! They give you the ability to pay extra for 'Advanced Reporting'. Ha! It's just as much a joke as their basic reporting. None of it gives you correct info or the info you actually need. I could go on and on about all the issues I've had. Just trust and do not sign up with this company! Any of the reviews about LS being great are either fake or from a business owner who doesn't have to actually use the software. I can't imagine anyone loving it this software! It's terrible!

Pros: The only pro to this software is that you can check a customer out and that it does have a website.

Cons: Their sales people lie, customer service is terrible, reports are not accurate & they do not care about the customer!

Pros: Easily get products loaded into your retail platform and eCommerce all at once! Everything flows from one side to the other! I am able to load hundreds of products in the matter of a day. The eCommerce has everything you can think of for features and uses. They have more than enough options to fit anyone's needs for design options on the website. The retail software is immaculate! They have EVERYTHING covered!

Cons: Make sure you look at the recommended sizes for the pictures on the eCommerce. If you dont use the recommended size or resize your images to that size, the pictures will either blow up way too big to see the entire picture on the website menu or it will be too small for anyone to see. It is VERY picky. But we use Canva and we change the size of the pictures in the matter of seconds and everything is working perfectly. I can post hundreds of products in the matter of a day. There currently is a layaway feature on the retail software but it is not yet available on the eCommerce side yet. They said they are working on it but its not there yet so I cannot say if it is good or not.

Pros: I like that the software is very easy to use and just works. One thing I really like about it is that when I'm putting in new inventory, it will search their database to see if the item has been inputted by someone else so that I don't have to put in all of the information. It's really neat. It will also search local inventory to make sure it hasn't already been put in so you don't have duplicates. One other thing I like about lightspeed retail is making sales. It's just really easy to use, especially when you have a scanner. We use an iMac as our till and it just works really nicely.

Cons: The only problem I've had is when putting in new inventory, if it can't find it in their database or local inventory, it sometimes just displays an error asking you to try again instead of saying it couldn't find it. Which can be frustrating if you try multiple times.

Cons: I can't really think of anything negative about this software but I do think it's not that easy to setup custom menus, but it's not that important cause it's something you rarely configure. What I would like it's that it let's you setup your own document number sequence and also more languages and better templates for documents. They are missing out on a big international market because of this, there are countries that have some regulations on the receipt number and also they need to add some specific things to their documents, required by their government.

Comments: Our experience with several POS systems over the years indicates that it is important to understand how a proposed POS system works and what the costs are and what the assurance is that the system will work for us. Time spent in learning how well the POS matches our processes is very important. Fortunately, we took the time to go over our needs in depth with Lightspeed sales and were able to be sure the solution fit our needs before purchase. We are very happy with our Lightspeed product and service.

Pros: We have used Lightspeed Retail for about 5 years and have integrated it with their Webstore ecommerch for 2 years before changing over to Lightspeed Ecom for the past 8 months. Getting POS and integrated ecommerce to work together takes more work than most people realize, so it is important to have technical support available that is willing and competent. We have found Lightspeed to be flexible enough to work with our preferences for POS and ecommerce. And, we have had excellent experience particularly with the Ecom help and also with Lightspeed POS help.

Cons: We have found very few problems with the POS and Ecom products. There is a small rounding issue so that occasionally PO's need to be adjusted by a few cents to match an invoice amount from a supplier. We have almost always been able to get the results we need by calling tech support and telling them what we are wanting to do and getting their suggestions about possible solutions.

Pros: Nice user interface. Good features for a shop that does service work. Cloud-based software makes it easy and convenient.

Cons: Our bike shop has been using Lightspeed for 5 years now, first with their Mac based software, and then with their cloud based software (Lightspeed Retail). There are many great things about the software, but on the whole I would not recommend a small business owner to hitch their cart to this company. There are significant bugs, inventory control is a disaster, but worst of all, fundamentally Lightspeed does not care about their customers. What Lightspeed cares about is their roadmap which in most cases doesn't deal with fundemental issues that their customers have been bringing up for years - if you have any doubt on this, look at their "ideas" page where top voted on features and requests have sat dormant for years. My frustration has boiled over due to an issue with the way their inventory system works, and the way their customer service team has responded to my pleading that they at least give me an ETA on a fix. Here's the backstory: Lightspeed does a very peculiar thing which is that it will auto-add inventory if a product is sold but does not exist in inventory. Not only this, but Lightspeed will auto-check-in inventory off of POs if a product is sold. Now this in and of itself is a disaster as far as accountability is concerned: how is one supposed to track POs when product mysteriously gets checked in! But the worst part is that there is a bug in their system which will auto-check-in product off of POs if product is put into a work order. Doesn't matter if said product is sold or not, it will check-in the product regardless, causing a nightmare scenario where we are trying to figure out what POs have truly been received, and which POs Lightspeed has decided to receive automatically. I brought this issue up for the first time around 6 months ago, and never got any solid response on a fix. I contacted support in April again. After a lot of back and forth about whether this was a real problem (like I love spending time contacting support) the support tech Derrick agreed that this was an issue. I asked for an ETA. No ETA was available. I followed up a month later in May. Still no ETA, but Derrick assured me this was a priority, but also assured my significant problem that is causing myself and my staff time and frustration and vigilance and additional systems and workflows to remedy is "an extreme edge case scenario so I'm curious about how it could be causing you significant workflow issues." So now we are in July. This supposedly "high priority" "extreme edge case" bug is still not fixed. No ETA. No communication. Since we started experiencing this issue Lightspeed has stuck an e-commerce link in the middle of the navigation bar and continued to work on integrating their e-commerece into every other cranny of the software, even if you don't use their e-commerce. They've added a new feature called Analytics which costs additional monthly fees. Their API is still slow and unsupported. Their App marketplace is effectively a Potemkin village of fake apps with no real syncing with the silo that is Lightspeed. The promises of a cloud based POS are so great, but Lightspeed does not deliver. If you are looking to invest time and energy in a retail POS platform, I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. Lightspeed looks very slick on the surface, and it is quite good in many ways, but the underlying company culture does not put their customers first.

Pros: Ease of use, Access from anywhere, Access from any device, Dialed workflows for service department operations, Seamless inventory management, Stable, Reliable, Performant

Cons: Would really like to see tighter email integration. Ability to fire email templates base on system events. For example: send customer an email to let them know their workorder is completed when the workoder is marked as finished.

This company is all about sales and has no interest in fairness or retaining customers.

Comments: I run a tiny seasonal business for which this system was intended. If someone is unhappy with my service, refunding their money is not always my first approach, but if I know that I've fallen short on service, I absolutely look for a fair solution. I was fine with keeping the hardware originally sent to me and even paying for the time lapse on the software, but to say that all software sales are final when they are the one that set the contract lengths to being with is just shady and downright distasteful. It's not like they put money into developing software just for my company. In fact, any time I tried to get support to help tweak things, their support team seemed more annoyed than willing to help. Stay away from these guys.

Pros: I barely used this product. What sold me on it initially were the demos in being able to have a simple interface for my employees on both the retail and restaurant side and a much more detailed backend than square that supposedly integrates nicely with Quickbooks.

Cons: I was very specific about my operating needs. I am also very busy with small children and multiple businesses. The onboarding was described as very simple, and it was not. I needed three systems, and was told that was what I was paying for. They shot me an invoice which I did not read thoroughly enough. They put in fine print on the invoice that the invoice and payment is acceptance or their sales terms which you have to then go to their website to read. Once I asked for the hardware items that they did not send me, they also charged me for a bunch of extra software that were not part of the original sales discussion or even the second sales discussion. They never refunded me for two years of unused software when I decided that I was not interested in doing business with such a shady company. No class.

Pros: The user interface is straight- forward, there are countless articles and videos to help through any confusion, and live chat is also available if you still cannot find a solution to your problem. I spoke with customer support NUMEROUS times, and each time, I was given prompt, courteous, professional care that got me pointed in the right direction and back on task.

Cons: I would like to see a more granular means of searching my reports for data. For some of the information we need, it seems the process could be streamlined to make the data more easily accessible.

Pros: The fact that I can properly input my inventory into the system and get up to the second updates is great!

Comments: Overall, I think Lightspeed is an excellent source for retail sources for point of sale and record keeping.

Pros: Lightspeed's customer service is excellent. They're quick and efficient, even through the chat option, which is what I typically use. I've described my problem pretty simply and three times that i've had to contact them, they've solved it very efficiently.

Cons: it would be great if there was a scheduling capability or alerts you could set on products. neither of these things are necessary but would be nice.

Pros: My absolute favorte thing Lightspeed Omnichannel does for our company is it keeps all our inventory correct online and inside our retail store! When we have online sales, all that data is brought into the Retail Side of the software and a new customer account is created. Even when a local, regular repeat customer makes a purchase online, the software is smart enough to match it up to the existing Lightspeed Account and just adds their sale to the list of sales they already had! Now, that is cool!

Cons: I know they are working on getting more eCom Support Technicians, so that is my only thing. Sometimes I have to wait on hold, but they have an accurate call back system too that is awesome! They call me back so I can move on with my day instead of being on hold! I've tested it many times, and each time they called me back and helped me out!

Overall: It helps my inventory online and instore remain perfect since the retail side talks to the ecom side and vice versa! It is AWESOME! Probably the #1 Feature I was looking for!

Comments: We've really enjoyed the new system and been very happy with its ease of use and reporting, allowing for me to have a better understanding of the business and how its running and how to improve it.

Pros: I came from an older POS system, but in comparison to that, the ability to create and edit products, search and categorize products and general ease of use has been stellar. My staff picked up on it very quickly with no issues at all. The help in transferring over and importing our inventory was smooth and easy. The reporting is also a huge improvement over my previous system.

Cons: There are a few quirkly little things that could be better in the search system as well as in creating products. But they are all small items that would mainly just make it better, not so much as a fault.

Pros: I like that the software looks nice and it's very user friendly. Updates are made often to keep things getting better.

Cons: Sometimes there are features that are fairly industry-specific and can't be customized to work more efficiently for a specific industry.

Pros: -Easy & quick set-up with the help of Lightspeed tech support! I love that they can screen share with me and set up all my receipt and barcode printers for me to save me the headache of figuring it out myself. -Inventory management is perfect for the needs of my small retail boutique. I use the matrix function to easily keep track of size and color options. -All of the basic reports included allow me to view my sales and inventory from many different angles.

Cons: -The only small thing I can think of that would save me time is if there were a space while creating a matrix to fill in a manufacture's SKU, rather than only being able to add it to individual items once they are created.

Pros: IOS software, wanted to switch to iPads and mini iPads and also the idea of the cloud was interesting .

Cons: 20 years in business with multiple locations and decided to try lightspeed at one of my restaurants because i consider myself an apple guy.
Worst decision i ever made, for the most part i got the worst dealer ever, where they don't know what they are selling, most of the issues i have had to resolve myself by calling the company direct, and that sometimes is a challenge as well. A year and half later and the system is still not doing what my old system used to do, not able to print certain reports, most nights can't close out the credit cards( most times i pray that i will be able to do it ).
if you own a restaurant this is not a system for you!!!!! simple retail I'm sure its fine, but busy restaurant its just to able to handle all the customization needed.
RESTAURANTS PLEASE DO NOT USE LIGHTSPEED, YOU WILL REGRET IT IF YOU DO.

Comments: Make sure you have ALL your data ready in a spreadsheet format before you purchase this system. It takes forever to manually enter it. Also, make sure your distributors work with them. Very few of mine do, which means the information it obtains is often outdated and inaccurate.

Pros: Its shiny. It uses ipads, but make sure its not an older model or it wont fit in the over-priced ipad holder. Im guessing the pc version is better. Also make sure you have aplenty of ethernet ports on your router. Each printer for the POS requires its own. Althought they told me that there was a wireless model after I bought the older ethernet version.

Cons: I have literally waited 45-60 minutes several times that I have tried to get an answer to a question. Once you order the system, you will find this company incredibly frustrating to work with.

Pros: Ease of use. Customer service. Online help plus video training. Astounding quantity of catalogs available. Omnichannel is the way to go. With one inventory for web and store sales, the need to manually adjust it is now gone! Less mistakes. Customer info, ordering, stock, fidelity and gift cards managed in the same interface is a time great saver. Ad the fact that you can access it from anywhere and you have a winning combo!

Cons: French customer service (my native language) while always available, has a response time quite a bit longer than the English counterpart. Reporting needs improvement.

Comments: HORRIBLE! They will mislead you to get you into the contract. They do not care about the business or business owner. Their customer service is Horrible. They would rather argue with you than help you and never call back when they say they will. I have been with them for 3 years and would love to get out but they have me locked in for another year and they won't budge. THERE IS NOW WAY TO STOP YOUR EMPLOYEES FROM DOWNLOADING YOUR ENTIRE CUSTOMER BASE AND INVENTORY INCLUDING COSTS, PROFITS, AND MARGINS. Try it. Log in as an employee and click export in the items screen or the customer screen. In two clicks they have your entire business. Managers can not build, send or check in purchase orders without seeing all costs and profits. Unless you plan to always be in store and never have employees alone in the store DO NOT GO WITH LIGHTSPEED. They don't care and will just keep coming out with new items to charge for that should just be ongoing upgrades to their core system such as the new analytics. They have come out with over 4 new items to charge for while not fixing the issue they knew about for over two years. They just don't care.

Pros: Good looking, can be used easily. The software itself isnt horrible it is the service and the fact that they dont care about you or your business and they will not fix major issues within the software

Cons: Customer service is horrible, your employees can down load all items with costs, profit, margin, and your entire customer base and there is no fix and they don't care.

Comments: -We switched to Lightspeed from ShopKeep because we needed to manage the inventory of our 5 locations in one place. That part works okay, once you figure out all the idiosyncrasies of the restock and reorder system. We had to hire a person just to manage the work-arounds we put in place to make Lightspeed a functional system for my business (because there are so many tedious extra steps). -Feeling stuck is the worst feeling as a small business owner. Lightspeed make me feel stuck. I hit a new wall in the system regularly, and when I ask for what I need, the answer is ALWAYS "no, we can't do that." Some examples: -The system does very little to tie sales and inventory together, it does next to nothing. You can export a sales report by item name, which is great. It tells you how many you sold, your sales numbers, and how many you have left. But the vendor information nor the department information for the sold items is not on the export. That makes the report useless in terms of knowing what vendors your business is coming from. Their answer is you can then export vendor sales separately. That is not helpful, because that export does not include item info or department info, nor does it tell you your on-hand inventory. There is not a single way in Lightspeed to view your sales and on-hand inventory in one place, and because their exported reports are so sparing of relevant information, I can't even create my own. This is a major flaw. With ShopKeep, at least I could get my data out of the system to manipulate it how I needed. With Lightspeed, I am SOL. -I don't even call customer service anymore because 100% of the time all they do is validate the problem and then offer no solution. Their consistent response is to tell me to make a suggestion to their developers. -I have been in business 10 years. We have 5 locations, and a website. I have 40 employees. I think Lightspeed would work for a single location or 2 location business. But any more than the system creates more work than it takes away. Looking back, I wish I would have stayed with Shopkeep.

Pros: The check-out system is nice and easy. For multi-locations it is helpful to see sales and inventory in one place.

Cons: -there is no flexibility in the system. The way Lightspeed wants you to see and retrieve your data is the ONLY way you can get your data. And their way 90% of the time is not relevant to the basic needs of a retailer to analyze and evaluate their business. -Customer Service is not responsive. The company does not seem willing to listen to complaints or provide work arounds to the rigidity of the system. - The eCom site is FULL of problems that they do not have a handle on. There are many limitations with the way you have to present information on the site. -It's very expensive for what you get. I was willing to pay a premium for a system I was told would exceed our needs and expectations. For the 2 things it does well, there are 98 headaches. -They do not offer refunds or a way out of your contract if you are unhappy.

Comments: I own a small retail shop and utilize LightSpeed Retail and LightSpeed eCom. I moved from Checkout for Mac to LightSpeed when my needs required more accurate reporting and a more thorough online presence. While I felt a little pushed during initial email/phone contact, the information was complete and to the point. I had absolutely no problems with the transfer of data over and the ease in setting up new products is seamless, once the concept is explained. Their technical support team is wonderful and has always resolved any of my issues right away. I love the ease in use of the checkout. I have several seasonal employees and assuming they remember their passwords, can jump right back in where they left off, no retraining needed. My husband loves the incredible detail of the reports and the import into Quickbooks works just fine. eCom is a huge improvement over the old 'webstore' product. I set this up on my own also...just spending time in the product will take you far, then schedule your onboard training. That way you already have questions in mind and they can review what you have established. We have over 8000 sku's, LightSpeed handles it seamlessly. In the event of an minor outage, the IT team jumps to fix the issue promptly. I also added Cayan payment processing and their Genius terminal. No more double entry and payments are accurately reported. I love that this terminal communicates with the program without the use and expense of a payment bridge. They also reduce my monthly processing charges. I haven't once regretted coming onboard. LOVE IT!!!

Pros: Accurate reporting and a more thorough online presence. Ease of transfer of data over and in setting up new products Quick to respond technical support team ADDED - Cayan integrated payment processing and their Genius terminal.

Cons: No offline availability. If internet is down, you can't do anything. No automatic notice of duplicate customer names. No automatic account creation of customer names with credit card payments. Unable to add single item on multiple item sale to special order.

Comments: I own Homespun, a boutique in Indianapolis that primarily sells the handmade goods of artists and makers from across the U.S. We largely work on consignment with our artists and have struggled to find a POS system that provides the right combination of reporting functions and inventory options to ease the cumbersome nature of the consignment model, particularly the month-to-month payouts after product sales have been made. We have been in business for almost seven years now and have been using another Mac desktop-based software that entire time. The former system served its purpose for the duration well enough, but we've expanded the shop square footage, increased inventory significantly, added more employees and are planning to add a web store very soon. It was time to upgrade. So, we switched to the Lightspeed online POS for retail and it has been AMAZING. The customer service alone is worth the change. We've had a few small hitches here and there in getting the inventory migrated to the new system and some of the hardware components set up, but the customer service is available 24/7 and is so friendly, patient, thorough, and knowledgeable. The customer service with our last system was more or less nonexistent, so this is a very welcome change. In addition to the great customer service, all of the reporting features I need are there, which is making running a large consignment business much easier. We are very happy with Lightspeed.

Pros: - Excellent customer service, available 24/7 via telephone or online chat - Excellent variety of reporting options - Fairly user friendly and intuitive to use

Cons: - A few small hitches in getting our inventory migrated - A few small hitches in getting our hardware components set up BUT, the customer service team was responsive and patient and helped us resolve both of those issues quickly.

Comments: Opened a bicycle shop in March of 2015. No prior retail experience, avid cyclist. A venture with my son. For 2015 we did not have a POS system. Signed up with Lightspeed in Nov/Dec 2015 and had the system up and running by January 2016. The phone support has been outstanding ¿ sometimes long wait times for the next available agent (solution, get up early and call at 5:00am or call late at night¿they are truly 24/7) BUT the agent¿s are knowledgeable and helpful, have found that they will take the time to work through whatever questions we have ¿ they are not on some turn around clock where they have to get you off the phone. This is a Canadian company based out of Montreal ¿ I have never experienced any English language issues and that is a major plus. I am unable to say that Lightspeed has a better program than other POS providers¿in the retail bicycle world Trek offers a system that is very, very expensive by comparison. The benefits of a POS system make the day to day operation of our shop go much more smoothly. I sometimes wonder how retailers managed prior to when the wizards of smart created the bar code scanner and the computer software to run these systems.

Pros: It makes the day to day operation of a retail bicycle shop manageable. Did not have prior retail experience, did not have a POS system for 1st year of operation and Lightspeed reduced the headaches.

Cons: Really have nothing negative to say. Do not have hands on experience with other POS providers. There was a brief time when the system was not able retrieve some historical data. I talked to Lightspeed and the issue got resolved and has not resurfaced

Help! I wish i knew a better system, I have lost Thousand with Lightspeed and they do not care.

Comments: System goes down, they do not answer the phone. We are in California, beautiful weather and they blame it on the weather back east. I purchased lightspeed for the mainly because of inventory, customer and accounting and it does not give or keep accurate information. I call lightspeed and they have no idea.

Pros: I like the fact lightspeed has a Gift card System, but it is not that good.

Cons: Long Hold times when you need them. Customer Service has to always ask the supervisor, or put in a request. Customer data base just disappears.

Comments: When the system is down they turn off their customer service. It is not a system a business can depend on and I am hoping there is a class action lawsuit to recoup the thousands of dollars in losses we've incurred. Maybe there isn't anything better on the market but this isn't a system you can rely on and as long as we keep paying them they don't seem to care. They've even gone so far as to block my comments on Facwbook.

Comments: As a small bike shop, we had the challenge of finding an affordable easy to use, but fully integrated system for inventory and sales. We are into our 2nd season with lightspeed, and we are quite happy with the product, and even added the ecom bundle to our subscription renewal. We are constantly learning new ways to make the product work for us, and help streamline our work from both a sales and service perspective. I don't use the support as much as I should, but have had great experience with lightspeed support on any question or concerns I come up with.

Pros: Cost effective for small business. Easy to learn and fairly intuitive. Great support. The more we use it, the better it suits our needs and they seem receptive to feedback for changes and improvements.

Cons: The ecom platform is great, but has a very retail feeling to it, which I understand is the function. Would love for the platform to have options for a more informative feel and function. Like optional events page, gallery, widgets like weather or trail condition reports etc.

Comments: We recently switched from Clover to Lightspeed. We have not got it up and running yet but we are heading in that direction. I am finding that the features are very easy to use.

Pros: The ease of use as well as the features it provides. I like that fact that it also imports to Quickbooks desktop.

Cons: I do not like that you only have two options of Merchant Service Providers with Lightspeed. I tried to contact these Merchant Service Providers and were unable to get the help I wanted. I ended up going with another Merchant Service Provider outside of the two Lightspeed told me about. However, it has turned out to be more of a headache. So note: Go with one of the providers they tell you about. I guess keep trying until you get someone who is helpful.

Recommendations to other buyers: This product is amazing for any small retail business. I do not know about the product outside of the small business for retail side. The gentleman at Lightspeed that helped me was amazing. He has provided us with great customer service. He is still helping us get off the ground since we chose a different Merchant Service Provider and have had so many issues.

We made a big bet on Lightpseed, and we lost. Stay away.

Comments: Lightspeed suffers from frequent changes in the product. For our store, with over 2000 items and integration with a web store, it is a very big investment in time and money to change systems. Since we've been on lightspeed, they have developed and cancelled three different e-commerce products: OnSite w/ E-commerce, WebStore, WebStore 2 (rewritten and incompatible). All of these have now been cancelled and we are left with a month to scramble to come up with a replacement. They are trying to coerce us to switch to their latest platform. No thanks, we've learned our lesson. One of the *most* important requirements for business software is that it is dependable. Lightspeed treats their products as short-term relationships that can be simply discarded for the next new shiny thing. The real business software would provide an upgrade path and help customers through it. Not lightspeed. Find a company that can provide a stable platform. Lightspeed can not, it's not in their DNA.

Pros: Decent features, though e-commerce is really weak, as is inventory management (you have to export to excel, do counts, and re-import. None of our staff can figure this out--it is complex and error prone).

Cons: Horrible continuity of product. Multiple software products are thrown away with customers left hanging with no transition plan.

Recommendations to other buyers: Stay away. We deeply regret placing our trust in Lightspeed.

Comments: We have been one of the first customers of Lightspeed in Europe. We have decided to rollout Lightspeed as they were on MAC and had a Magento connector for which we could connect our website. Their solution has never been consistent in synchronizing both retail and online stocks. The yearly process of global inventory has been a mess with hours of pain to get it done. Suddenly, 6 months ago, out of the blue, we got a noticed by Lightspeed that Magento is no longer supported and they only support their proprietary webcommerce solution. We have invested massively on developments around this architecture believing that Lightspeed was a serious POS solution and company. Finally, they have pointed out to Accumula, a integrator and solution provider which we now need to pay to have access to their API. We might have found a solution (not yet proven) but we deplore the communication they do with their customers

Comments: Having our POS system in the cloud has allowed us to devote hardware and software IT resources to other areas of our business. Having the ability to access our POS at home, on the road, and on our phones has made us more organized, more productive, and smarter with our purchasing decisions. I have been able to reduce our inventory on hand by about 20%.

Pros: Ease of use, simple and fast loading pages, no more hardware and software issues for our store to deal with. Work order management is very well thought out and organized. No more data to backup.

Cons: Wish they had more users included in our single cash register plan. We have a lot of part-time summer help.

Comments: We are having a very hard time finding a working software that can work in our service are, stores and control our inventory. Oh yes, and did I say it must work with Quickbooks. Well, the Quickbooks interface is horrible. It sends batches of transactions and not the actual customer by customer transaction. Very poor and pretty useless Quickbooks interface. It also does not work giving the information for customers that pay on account. There are no aging reports at all. How can we efficiently call on customers that owe us money? It seemed easy at making estimates but aside from that, pretty unusable for us.

Pros: Easy online interface. Easy to upload the information to start.

Cons: No aging reports. Minimal and unusable Quickbooks Interface.

Recommendations to other buyers: Makes sure it has all the features you need.

Comments: The time clock does not function properly, reports are unfinished and give false data. The invoicing cannot calculate fractions of pennies and actually has a box to enter the error difference that will occur on each invoice. Because they know they can't get it right! This will cause variance in your cost of goods sold. Kiss accurate accounting goodbye and say hello to common core math if you buy this junk.

Pros: They will promise you the moon and a slick interface if you like getting lied to.

Cons: Your accountant will hate it.

Recommendations to other buyers: Keep looking.

Comments: Where to begin. Lightspeed is hands down the best cloud-based POS software around. USE: To begin, it's all in the name! Lightspeed is a FAST point of sale platform. We're able to search through tens of thousands of customers/products instantly. The user interface is VERY intuitive and set-up/maintenance is effortless. INVENTORY: If your business sells items with variants (such as size or nicotine strength), Lightspeed has INCREDIBLE matrix capabilities. Easy to use, edit, and maintain. The platform has outstanding product history including sales, purchase orders, transfers, and manual adjustments. Our shrinkage has almost disappeared! We're on top of our inventory like never before. REPORTS: If I'm being honest, I would have to say that Lightspeed has almost too many reports. However, they are all very detailed and easy to use/reference to! MULTIPLE LOCATION: My FAVORITE part! We have two B&M locations. Lightspeed KILLS the multiple location games! Check inventory from both locations at once. Create store to store transfers. Utilize Lightspeed's time clock feature and export labor reports for each location individually or for both combined! Switching between locations is two clicks away. Most financial and inventory reports have options to populate all or one location data. Lightspeed also allows multiple registers per location! OVERALL: After using nearly every major POS system on the market, I'm confident in saying Lightspeed is the best. They are second to none. Forget Shopify, Square, NCR, Bindo, etc. Lightspeed is the best solution!

Comments: Upon, attending the NRA in Chicago, we thought we found an awesome new POS system for our bistro. We were expecting that we would run our operation more efficiently than we have in the past, but Lightspeed is really not restaurant friendly. The system is so cumbersome and simple operations are very time consuming (our operation, like all restaurants, needs fast and easy transactions). Most upsetting is that we were misled in many ways by the Lightspeed sales rep. Upon giving the rep our list of requirements we were told the system is fully capable. Currently, we are unable to manually process credit cards although the Rep assured us that they work with our processor, Vantiv/Mercury. We were also told our printers would work with the POS system, but after install, we soon realized that none of our printers were compatible and we had to order another equipment which cost us a lot. Lightspeed does not appear to have been written by someone in the restaurant industry as there are certain functions that are common in our industry that is not available. Or if they are available they are so out of wack and really clumsy. If you think you might want this system, here is a list of functions you might want to try before buying: Voids and Discounts, Splitting guest checks, BOH reporting (specifically End of Day, Cashout reporting, if you are going to use registers), Barista¿s claiming tips, To-Go module or fast transaction module (almost laughable as nothing this system does is fast). I urge you not to make the system mistake as I did and look elsewhere. If you have a restaurant think twice, and anything you choose DEMO, DEMO, DEMO. If you do settle on Lightspeed, I would get all of your requirements or a list of things your rep has told you the system will do in writing and get a contract signed because they are probably misleading you just as I was. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere (Revel, Touchbistro, RM POS, Aloha, Micros)

POS is great, but the ecommerce side needs a LOT of work.

Comments: We started using Lightspeed Retail in July of 2016. We love the fact that the POS is in the cloud. We were opening a second location so we wanted a POS that could handle more than one location. Transferring inventory from one store to the other in the system is super simple. I really like the reports. It gives me the information I need quicker than I could get it out of my old POS. It has been easy to teach our staff how to use as well, and we have a lot of part-time staff.

Pros: In the cloud, so I can access it from anywhere. Works on multiple platforms, so I can use the iPad app, or open it on a mac, or on a PC. Easy to use. Great for multiple locations. E-commerce inventory is linked to the main store's inventory. So when something sells it is immediately gone from the website.

Cons: The e-commerce platform has very limited functionality. The website I had back in 2008 had more functionality than this one does. You cannot put an item on sale. You can only use a coupon code. Customer support is very limited. While it is great for the POS side the support for the Ecom side is separate and nowhere near as good.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you have a good website already, (like I did, I had a volusion site), don't do this unless you plan to keep your website. If you do not have a website already, then you do not know what you are missing out on ... The POS is great, but don't take it on if you want a great website.

Pros: Plenty of features.

Easy to learn.

Cons: Incredibly unstable and unreliable.

Poor customer service.

Very expensive.

Lack of updates or further development.

Largely exclusive to Apple products.

Overall: Lightspeed's products have one strong point: A broad set of features. Lightspeed has made sure to buy software with a lot of capabilities to resell. Unfortunately, this means that they don't seem to actually know how their software works. In the three years I've been using their software it's been the most unreliable and unstable piece of software I've ever used. Their desktop program still crashes on a daily basis and many functionality problems have not been fixed. The current version of our website has been running for about a year with major functionality problems that, to my knowledge, Lightspeed hasn't even looked into. The new version (eCommerce) which we're being forced to upgrade to, isn't actually finished or feature complete. They claim to support payment processors that they don't support, and of the few that are supported some of them aren't even functional in Canada, the country where Lightspeed is located. They clearly don't take customer service or their clients' business seriously. With the amount of problems we've had and the amount of money we've spent, I would expect some sort of account manager to contact us and make sure everything is working smoothly in order to retain us as a customer, but that just doesn't seem to be a priority.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure to explore all your options before making a decision if you're considering Lightspeed as your POS system.

Comments: We opened our brick and mortar bicycle retail and service shop July this year. We started with Vend POS, but that was not well suited for our labor-heavy business model. Shortly thereafter we transitioned to Lightspeed, and could not be more pleased. Nearly all our vendor catalogs are already in Lightspeed, so receiving inventory is easy. Further, Lightspeed's item types simplify selling bulk items, tracking serial numbers, etc. Most of all, we appreciate the ease with which we can now log customers, their bicycle information, and the services we perform for them, all in tandem with each other. I would highly recommend Lightspeed to anyone operating a bicycle shop!

Comments: It's not the people, really. Anyone you speak to are fabulous, however, the company ties their hands in what they can do. They have so many qualified and skilled people, but the company has focused on growing worldwide and not actually the logistics of knowing what their own policies and procedures are. Customer Support is constantly trying to put out fires and fix issues in Production instead of figuring all that out in the Testing Phase. And if you actually find a problem in which the Support staff agrees is a problem and creates a ticket for it, when it goes to the next lead programmer, they tend to dismiss it and never let you know.

Pros: The Customer Support Staff that you talk to from, unfortunately, the only one phone number they have available.

Cons: - Expects customer to use the API if they need any design changes - Expects the customer to keep track of problems they find and keep having to contact them - Absolutely no ability to contact any management in any way, shape or form. All emails are the same but are coded in a way that they will go back to them but only if they send you an email directly. If you expect someone in management to contact you but they don't, you're screwed. And since there is only one phone number to use to call, that only gives you the general support staff or Billing. What I have generally found is that Support understands exactly what's going on and understands what you are going through and what needs to be done. It's the second line of defense that who think you're crazy, or the standard comment is that they are aware of the problem and are working on it. However, the problem isn't listed anywhere in the CMS that the customers are allowed to see...which displays only customer requests, not the actual problems that they are working on.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you think this company will have your back, you will be extremely disappointed!!! They seem to only care about growing the number of offices they have internationally and not making sure these offices are completely integrated and the staff that are supposed to be helping you are actually allowed to access the tools, I believe, they are more than qualified to do. My advice: Run. Run far far away!!!

Comments: After interviewing over two dozen POS companies we found that LightSpeed was the right choice for our company. We operate multiple locations and an online store. The largest benefit we saw LightSpeed offered was their integration with the various website designs. I also found the customer service to be superior to all the other offerings on the market.

Pros: Website integration, inventory integration between multiple locations, overall flexibility of the software

Cons: Can only work with an internet connection

Recommendations to other buyers: the cloud-based software requires an internet connection at all times, so I would recommend having a backup like an Ipad with network access.

Comments: I have been using Lightspeed for a bit longer than 4 months, I wish they had Thumbnail photos or indicator's in the matrix to what products have photos with them

Pros: How easy it is to use and teach other's

Cons: Learning all the algorithm's in Excel to re-format catalog's for importing is time consuming

Comments: I have been using light speed for about 6 months when i opened a clothing store in our current mall, it has been a BREEZE i have never used a product that runs so smoothly and has so many functions! (literally anything you can think of it already has) Light speed is an amazing program and I will continue to use it in my business, I do however wish it was a little bit cheaper but it is worth every penny and helps my business succeed!

Comments: Couldn't have found a better retail POS software that works right from my iPad, or phone to check on inventory from the sales floor or ring up customers in line or at vendor holiday shows. Easily place products into a website which has some great free themes to choose from. Love that integrating a blog is there but it's not as well set up as it could be for a profitable blog which is key for any business now. I'm sure they'll have an upgrade soon. Great customer service from lightspeed at any time of day with little wait time.

Pros: Easy to use, with minimal website knowledge you can build an online presence from your inventory. Great customer service and IT department.

Cons: Few integrated credit card processing companies to choose from.

Comments: Lightspeed seemed like a good solution for my small business after doing some research and speaking with their salesman. What they don't tell you is that they rush you into a sale with an offer that "expires" in the near future. They don't give you an opportunity to test the product to see if it will work for your business. In our case, we asked very specific questions about the management of multiple repairs for a single customer to which our salesman assured us their product could handle. Unfortunately it could not without adding numerous steps to the process thereby making it extremely inefficient and prone to human error. Their solution was to use specific functionality like "layaway" to circumvent their own products flow. After several sessions with their orientation specialist (spread out over sever weeks due to their limited schedule), even she said that their product can't really do what we need it to the way we need it to. During the sales cycle, we told the sales man numerous times that we do not print paper receipts; we email receipts to our customers in order to be more environmentally friendly and therefore do not need/want a paper receipt printer. The salesman "gave" us a cash drawer as a part of our sale but the catch is that you have to have a receipt printer for the drawer to work. There are several other issues similar to the ones above where we were mislead into paying the upfront fee. Now that we've figured out that the Lightspeed product will not work and we'd like a refund, their customer service is nowhere to be found. They do not respond to email in a timely manner (usually weeks) and do not respond to calls. I would avoid Lightspeed simply because of their customer service and sales. Their product seems decent enough for the right business but be prepared to be swindled.

Pros: Seems easy to use once setup

Cons: Does not easily handle multiple line items for a single customers. Salesman will tell you that you don;t need all the hardware but you actually do and they'll happily sell it to you. Communications are exceptionally poor once sale has been made. Does not handle customization well.

Recommendations to other buyers: Avoid Lightspeed... They will tell you anything they can to close the deal... up to and including outright lies.

Lightspeed is a lifesaver.

Comments: We opened a small retail store and in the first 3 months went through 2 other POS systems. We had not chosen Lightspeed initially because of poor reviews. However, after using two other systems which couldn't do half of what we needed, Lightspeed was a delightful surprise. We haven't had any of the problems we had heard about and have consistently had good service and results with the program.

Pros: Flexible, robust. Has ability to do layaway, discounts, full item descriptors.

Cons: Some features must be done in the back office. Layaway can be a little complicated to complete from the sales register.

Comments: I started up my retail store from scratch and Lightspeed made it so much easier. The vendor catalog import feature makes finding products a snap, especially for special orders. I can't lose the special orders because they are all computerized and attached to the customer. When I had to go offsite, this cloud based system let me do every transaction I needed to do (sell inventory, email receipts, special orders), it was just like taking the register with me. The system is very intuitive. It takes me about 10 minutes to train someone on the system, even my children (ages 15 and 11) picked it up quickly and can help all my customers. I haven't used the eCommerce feature yet, but it looks promising. The customer service is spectacular! Firefox had an update that knocked the receipt settings off. I had to call every day for 5 days because what they fixed would reset in the morning. They finally figured out the problem, but every call they were polite, cheerful, and respectful. They didn't talk down to me like some IT do when explaining the setting configuration and even called me on their own to check that their fix had worked. I felt that they cared about my experience and wanted to help me, not just because it was their job to.

Comments: Have used Lightspeed for over 8 years. It is expensive and it is very difficult to sync with Quickbooks accounting software... causes many headaches. Customer service is terrible and the service contracts are very expensive for small business owners. I would not recommend this product. They have made very little improvements in the 8 yrs I have been using this product. It is a huge time suck.

Pros: works with Mac ... but in hindsight I would have set up a PC POS.

Cons: expensive, doesn't sync well with leading accounting software, not compatible with Quickbooks online, poor customer service, does not track sales by hour, can't find problems with Unbalanced GL Accounts, difficult to analyze sales. managing a large inventory is difficult with this POS.

Recommendations to other buyers: Use Quickbooks.

Comments: Lightspeed is a great product, very easy to use and the customer service is excellent.

Pros: The customer service is probably my favorite feature of Lightspeed, not only the live chats with techs, but the videos are great. After 5 years of using Lightspeed I'm still finding new and improved features to help make my life easier.

Cons: Lightspeed is a little on the pricey side, about 3 times a year we need an extra register because we run a remote location, the cost for the use of an extra register is not worth the time and effort to do stuff by hand.

Recommendations to other buyers: This is a great product, we are a small business (no employees, 1 register, 1 location) and have had little problems. When we do have problems the customer service is great.

Comments: I have only been using Light speed for about 10 months but have no desire to try anything else it is always working and if there are any updates or possibilty of down time they are great about given a heads up before.

Pros: Very dependable

Cons: I have not had a negative experience at the time.

Recommendations to other buyers: Hands on, just get in there and search, if you think you might mess something up... you won't!

Comments: In a sea of POS/Retail Software, it's extremely hard to weed out the good from the bad. After months of research I was confident in choosing Lightspeed for our company. The ease of the retail software and training for sale associates on using the software was the best quality. You don't have to be a computer genius to use this software and even if you are it stands up to that as well. The amount of features the software has is amazing. Being able to track sales and discounts, from customer purchases, the list is long is it's great features, plus the ease and integration for having an online web store.

Pros: Tracking inventory, sales, being able to track employee performances. Integrated credit card terminal and shipping software with eCommerce. Easy purchase order creation, being able to do so many different reports as well as creating them for each store and even broken down by register as well. A great customer service company. The customer service is very helpful and will walk you through any problem or situation.

Cons: There's only a couple, but most people don't mind yet I'm a little extra computer savvy so I don't like that I can not do our own inventory uploads. Also not being able to upload different pricing levels, and wish there was a way to add notes to inventory adjustments as well as download all the created variables for all customer data.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you have outgrown square, or really need a software that you can easily train your employees on Lightspeed is definitely a great choice. The customer service alone is great. They will help you with anything they can without charging you an arm and a leg to talk to them like other companies. If you write your own software then maybe you need something else, but if you need a great Small to Large Business POS software system Lightspeed is your choice. I think Lightspeed is the best choice for cost and features for this level software.
