Overall, my experience with Phocas has been positive. It provides useful insights, makes reporting more efficient, and helps with data-driven decision-making. While there is a learning curve and some features may require additional setup, the platform is valuable once you become familiar with it. Overall, Phocas has been a reliable and helpful tool for managing and analyzing business data.

Pros

What I liked most about Phocas is how easy it makes it to access and understand important business data. The platform provides clear, insightful reporting that helps turn complex information into actionable insights. I also appreciate its user-friendly interface and the ability to quickly analyze performance, identify trends, and make more informed decisions. Overall, Phocas has made reporting and data analysis more efficient and valuable for our team.

Cons

What I liked least about Phocas is that it can take some time to fully learn and understand all of its features. Some reports and dashboards may require additional setup or customization, and new users may need training to get the most out of the platform. Overall, though, these are relatively minor challenges compared with the benefits Phocas provides.

We use Phocas because we needed to stick analytics into our own platform and I really didn't want to code a whole BI layer from scratch. The white-labeling is okay and clients can see their metrics. It saves us engineering time I suppose. Im just glad the natural language query thing actually functions because the non-technical users kept bothering me. The customer support is good also.

Pros

The widgets are fine I guess and it connects to our databases without catching fire. The drag and drop stuff for the dashboards actually didn't break when I used it which is a shocker. My screen didn't freeze when connecting the data warehouse so that is something.

Cons

The cube builds fail a lot when there is heavy data loads. I really hate how hard doing translations for the dashboards are.

Spreadsheets were located everywhere before we implemented Phocas. I thought for sure Phocas would break the system by bringing the financial reporting for different countries together. The P&L structures are automatically set up with phocas, therefore, I have less manual work. I suppose it saves time and I don’t have to think about as much.

Pros

I've never been surprised by how well Phocas doesn't crash when I input the data. I could rearrange the models. It's able to bring all the various ERP metrics into one location therefore I do not have to review 12 different screen locations. Flexibility is okay I suppose.

Cons

Reports are difficult to create since Phocas does not include normal drag & drop functions that are common in almost all programs. If too many images or categories are included the entire report will freeze and you'll lose your filters if you reload the page. It took me way to long to figure out. I really need to clean my glasses.

Phocas is a reliable BI platform that makes data more accessible for business users. It’s especially useful for daily reporting and decision-making, though deeper customization and advanced analytics require some effort to master.

Pros

Very user-friendly for data analysis and reporting Strong dashboards and data visualization Good drill-down and reporting capabilities Helps centralize data from multiple systems Reduces reliance on IT for reporting

Cons

Learning curve for advanced features Limited customization in some dashboards/visuals Can feel restrictive for complex reporting needs Performance can slow with large datasets

All in all, it is a good option for data lovers. It’s powerful but easy to use for someone new to it. This makes my research life a lot more organized and professional.

Pros

Phocas is what I use to dig into data because I can “drill down.” If I see a big number and I want to know where that came from, I just click it. It starts with the small details right away. It really helps me to point out mistakes in my research data very quick. It is quite friendly and not scary interface.

Cons

Its mobile version does not work as well as the desktop one. If I’m traveling and want to see a quick report on my phone, it seems somewhat clunky. I only use it on my big office monitor.

I use Phocas on a daily basis for a variety of reports and pulling data. The very easy way to pull large data sets and manipulate to produce bespoke reports is a key part of why I love Phocas.

Very easy to use. Ability to manage very large data sets and manipulate into different views.

Inability to export dashboards into excel.

Good product but poor service, so wouldn't recommend!

Pros

Great software, really user friendly, and cuts the complexity out of data analysis.

Easy to use and intuitive. Our sales teams are the primary users because it is simple

Cons

On the financial side - syncing. We need to run this manually at month end as we complete journals, we want to see updated reports more timely.

Hi Stephen, Thank you for taking the time to review Phocas. That's awesome to hear that your sales team are regular users - we aim to get your data into the hands of the people who need it as easily as possible. Postive. Again, I like how user friendly it is, but I think it just needs to have the function to import data so you can get values faster.

Pros

I like that is very user friendly, and that is not hard to figure out.

Cons

I don't like that you can't import data into it so that you can return values that reflect the imported data. For example, instead of clicking on each SKU you want to look at, I think it would be beneficial to import a large dataset that involves SKUs so that you can see their data much faster.

Hi Omar, thanks for taking the time to review your experience with Phocas so far - we're happy to hear that you're finding Phocas so easy to use. If you're not getting the SKU Level of detail you need from your ERP, it is possible to load in additional data into Phocas using file uploads of Formatted data: https://docs.phocassoftware.com/other-information/upload-a-file This does require some additional configuration to setup. Please reach out to us using the usual channels or at hello@phocassoftware.com if you have further questions about this functionality. Warm regards on behalf of Mike Hills Global Head of Customer
