Managing Director Media Production Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "A must have for any business having to deal with contracts on a day to day business." March 30, 2022 5.0 Before we got on board with Updraft, all contracts were put together manually. These were of varying timelines and required proactive monitoring that could be better used elsewhere. With Updraft, we were able to cut times spent on generating, filing and keeping a tab on contracts by nearly 85%. It is only by chance that we came across Updraft, but it has immensely added value to the day to day running of the business. Pros The biggest advantage we experienced was in the time taken to draft a new contract. Using templates that were already available made it extremely easy to pick and choose what we needed. To add to that, dynamic contracts based on a short interview with the clients, while setting up various deadlines and clauses made it so much more easier to keep track of. Gone are the days when we needed to spends hours or days reviewing and checking up on files. A complete time-saver solution with a reasonable price bracket. Cons Our only gripe is the subscription based model. Since 90% of the industry has moved their business to the cloud, it has become common place and we have to take it as a cost of doing business. Until now no complaints about it. Pros The software is customer friendly and back-ups websites to external storage. It is quite flexible and you can store back-ups to several locations. Cons The main drawback is that it does not automatically back-up the website before events like installing updates or plugins. April 2, 2015 5.0 Agreements and other frequently used documents are custom made to meet not just legal requirements but specific client needs. There is less likelihood of mistakes caused by using own precedent data base where one can miss amending certain clauses to cater for a particular scenario/ agreement. It is also useful to know that one has the support of legal experts who provide legal support free of charge. They also ensure that all agreements used by clients are up to date with changes in legislation. Having additional agreements (which are not frequently used by the client) which can easily be generated from the system is very beneficial. The fact that it is web based means it can be accessed from anywhere. It was also pretty useful for the migration of our website. Cons Not that cheap though, but they offered us a 20% discount cause we are a non-profit, which seemed fair to us. We are still in the process of implementing the full capability to allow for drawing reports and end to end contract management. The Origin team is readily available to attend to any development requirements and assist in addressing user queries. It takes only a few minutes to produce a contract that complies with all current and applicable legislation.
