Owner Accounting Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "No Other Services Fit our Needs until eSign Genie" November 22, 2019 5.0 Pros eSign Genie allows tons of customization. We are an accounting and tax practice and send documents frequently for both our own purposes (contracts, engagement letters) and documents that need to be filled out and forwarded to the IRS and other tax authorities. These documents need real signatures, not the type-written signatures that most eSign software lets clients use. With eSign Genie, we can limit our clients to only have the option to draw their actual signature, allowing us to use this for more documents than our previous solution. Also - I cannot speak highly enough of eSign Genie's Pay-as-you-Go plan. Most eSign providers no longer (or never did) offer this type of plan, and it is perfect for my type of business that doesn't necessarily need to send hundreds of documents per month. I pay a $10 fee for 5 documents at a time, and they don't expire. When I run out, I just "top up" with 5 more documents at a clip. Cons I really haven't seen anything negative about eSign Genie as of yet. The only small issue sometimes is the speed - I've had a few clients say that it is sometimes slow to load, but it's infrequent - so not enough of a problem for me to look elsewhere. (Trust me, I have already looked elsewhere and was utterly dissatisfied!) As with all things, there is a curve of learning. Because it is browser based, I can be anywhere and log in to send or review my documents. Pros Overall this is a relatively easy software to use. Once you get the hang of how to add documents and Templates and recipients, it is simple enough to use. I was able to sign up for HIPPA compliance; this required the business plan. Works with Safari on my Mac. :-P Cons I had issues logging in during the free trial and the first couple of times after my purchase. Support was able to fix the problem. I also like least that for my small needs, I had to purchase the largest business plan for HIPPA compliance. I thought it would be a "flat rate" to add to any Plan but it was not. Every option to being transfer on the recorder prompts back to an initial menu unless you pick specific options. As I am writing this today, I already called thrice for an issue we've been having since October and this is for a renewal already approved, with a set quotation and pricing already agreed upon. We ran out of envelopes because of this and can't work properly. I have been waiting on a chat response for over an hour as well. We receive emails regarding the tickets and we respond, but don't get a follow up back even though we give our approval on the solution to our issue. The experience was definitively better when it was under eSign Genie. I don't know why you offer a renewal if you are not going to comply when we gave a green light months ago. Pros Hardly anything positive to say about what's to like, given the recent experience. Cons Customer service is disorganised, lacks communication within themselves, follow ups are ambiguous even though we give approval on the solutions of our issues. Agents take forever to respond, don't give a promised callback either and the ticket is still ongoing. Being able to sign electronically is great. It saves the tenant time because they don't have to print and scan the lease. It saves me time because I can reuse templates instead of doing each lease separate. I don't have to drive to get contracts signed. It is awesome. Pros What I find the most useful about eSign Genie is that I can pay for their services as needed. The other companies we looked at all want a monthly fee whether we use the service or not. In my case, I only need the service two times a year. eSign Genie gives me the flexibility I want! Cons I suppose the interface could be a little more intuitive. The software is very powerful and because it has lots of capabilities, the interface can be a little confusing if you just jump right in. It provides you detailed information on document signing sequences and progress. You can enable automatic reminders for your documents to speed up the document signing process. The pricing was reasonable for our use. Within a year and a half, we have grown. While the product is efficient, the cost is considerable for the plans we may choose from. If business could receive credit or partial credit for documents sent that are unopened or unreturned this would be a plus. Pros Foxit software is relatively easy to learn and use. Uploading documents and being able to edit as needed (on each page) is a plus. We are a small business and the software has allowed our business to reach individuals who live outside of our locality. The electronic signature documents provides our business a much more efficient way to obtain releases of information, client registration, and other business related documents. Cons Some clients have complained of having difficulty opening or signing documents (using phones or iPads). We have experienced minor issues with sending errors which seems to have been resolved. Often we will receive documents that are not completed or not signed (multiple pages required to be signed). I needed a software that was HIPAA compliant, affordable and easy to use. I could not find another one to accomplish the same things at this price. The competitors would not give a Business Associate Agreement unless and Enterprise Plan was selected which tend to be pricey. Pros Esigning is a snap. The signatures are secure. The portal is easy to use. You can set this up in minutes and customize to fit your business needs. Customer service is readily available but the only time I call is when I want to modify a form and I have questions. The chat customer service is very responsive and helps you immediately. When I had some ideas for my business and I had some more advanced questions, I was put in touch with the specialists and had my ideas implemented on the spot.
