I was able to achieve my goal. At the time, I needed to create a User Persona, and I was able to do that seamlessly. Pros The customisability of the templates. I loved how easy it was to customise the template to fit my vision. When done, it was also very easy to export and use. Cons Honestly, so far, nothing. September 30, 2024 5.0 Overall, I've been happy with my experience with Xtensio and have found it to be a great tool in my toolbox. Pros Xtensio has been very reliable for me as a UX/UI design student, inspiring user research (personas, SWOT analysis, empathy maps), diagramming, and much more. I've been an intermittent user since 2018, when I received my first degree in UX/UI in 2020. Xtensio is very easy to use and quick to get started. Instead of wasting time wondering how to get started, I can enter the important information I need to capture, and Xtensio takes care of the layout—a convenient way for me to get my ideas on paper and roll on from there. Cons The only thing I wish Xtensio would do is update its selection of templates. Although the existing library is helpful, it would be nice to see some fresh stuff. However, I am grateful for some template structure to establish my ideas. Perhaps Xtensio could start an incentive program, allowing users to submit template designs in exchange for a certain amount of credits to pay the monthly subscription fee. Their corporate customers would also benefit from this as their library of templates would be expanded, and businesses would still continue to pay their subscription price—just a thought. :) Review Source TS Timothy S. It is a good platform with tons of templates available for free. I also appreciate how there is no requirement to spend money as you can do almost everything needed for free. Pros I liked the sheer volume of templates available allowing many different kinds of tasks to be accomplished. I used it most for product target audience personas and it has worked great. Cons I don't like how sometimes it was hard to use when first getting into the platform. Sometimes it was hard to manipulate images or text boxes but I can still work with it well. However, the product is quality. Pros I love the aesthetics. I once had a professor in a business class say our team had the best personas. The work is clean. I mostly found it for their templates, and then decided to try making a client report in it. I wish I had know ahead of sinking a good amount of work into the document that clients couldn’t comment. It’s not as easy to use as a Canva but much more beautiful than a Slides or PowerPoint. And less finicky than InDesign. Pros Helpful templates and very easy to brand your materials with your own colors or your clients. I’ve gotten a lot of positive reviews and comments from clients on how the report I created for them looks Cons The interface can get pretty clunky, especially if you are making a longer document. It is annoying to move sections around the document. I also wish there was a review feature where clients could leave comments. However, I would use it more for other UX design tasks if they can add or improve some features I mentioned on the rating page. Cons There are key features missing, such as layout, size, and typography customization, that are standard features of other applications I use, like Miro, Lucidchart, Google Docs, Powerpoint, and even MS Word.
