I've been able to create academic and personal projects, and I'm monitoring them through GanttPRO. I estimate that with more time I'll be able to take full advantage of the application's potential. Pros GanttPro offers versatility in importing projects, such as from MS Project, without losing much information during the import process. It also integrates well with other applications that are helpful in daily tasks, such as Teams, among others. Another strong advantage is the flexibility in exporting and printing projects. It allows you to select a specific project, date range, or even individual tasks. Cons There are very few disadvantages compared to other applications. One area for improvement would be the PDF printing format, specifically the page layout options. We were looking for a tool that would allow us to manage several concurrent projects without losing the big picture. The Portfolio view gives us exactly that: a structured, visual representation that supports strategic planning and day-to-day coordination. The design is intuitive and not overloaded with unnecessary elements, which makes it suitable even for colleagues who are not highly technical. As a nonprofit organisation, affordability is a critical factor. Many other tools required a high minimum number of paid licenses to unlock advanced features, which made them financially unrealistic for us. GanttPRO offers a solution that is both functionally strong and financially accessible. Additionally, when we contacted the support team with questions, they were responsive and helpful, which gave us further confidence in continuing to use the platform. Pros What I liked most about GanttPRO is the Portfolio feature. This was actually the main reason we chose it after comparing several project management tools. It provides a very clear visual overview of multiple projects at once, which is essential for our organisation. We manage several parallel projects with overlapping timelines, and being able to see tasks by day, week, or month helps us plan ahead and anticipate workload peaks. I also appreciate that the system does not overly restrict how many tasks you can add. For some teams, strict limitations might be helpful, but for us it is important to sometimes break work down into very detailed task structures. The interface is minimal and clean, which made it easy to understand from the beginning without extensive onboarding. Cons We have not used the budgeting functionality extensively yet. At first glance, it seemed less directly aligned with the specific financial reporting structure we use for our projects. However, this may simply require further exploration and adaptation on our side. It is not a core issue, as we primarily selected GanttPRO for planning and coordination rather than financial management. I was initially looking for a tool that was more powerful than a simple to-do list but not as cumbersome as something like Microsoft Project. GanttPRO is exactly what I needed. The interface is very intuitive and I didn't need to watch hours of tutorials to get started. The drag-and-drop functionality for adjusting task durations and dependencies is very easy learning. I was building a detailed project timeline within my first hour. The visual clarity of the Gantt charts is outstanding, making it easy to spot bottlenecks and see the critical path at a glance. Cons I only wish the Printing options were as robust! The ability to Print each section as a snapshot would be very beneficial for those who like to take notes old-school. The tool is mostly oriented toward digital use and sharing, but the more traditional print format is still very common. You can try exporting the diagram in smaller time periods using the Date range filter and then printing it. Breaking the timeline into segments often makes long projects much easier to print. Pros How comprehensable the software is and how easy it is to understand and learn how to use it compared to other Gantt softwares/websites Cons How overwhelming all the tasks become when having all of them opened. Its also quite annoying to move tasks to subtasks as its not possible to do and having to copy and paste tasks individually can be very time consuming. The user interface is clean and well organized. As a working platform, it supports efficient workflows because the layout is clear and the most important functions are easy to access. During our evaluation, we also had contact with the support team and were positively surprised by their responsiveness. Our inquiry about whether Stiftung Juventus-Schulen could be included in the GanttPro discount program was answered quickly and in a helpful manner. Another advantage is the ability to operate the software reliably using the keyboard, which is an important aspect for professional work environments. Its clean interface, intuitive task-dependency setup, and real-time collaboration features have been especially helpful during busy academic weeks. Being able to visualize deadlines and adjust timelines quickly has reduced our stress and kept the project on track. For anyone managing a complex university project, I’d highly recommend GanttPRO. Cons If I had to highlight something I liked least about GanttPRO, it would probably be the limited customization for certain views. While the interface is clean and easy to use, there were moments during our AGV project when I wished I could tailor the dashboard a bit more—especially to display technical milestones in a more engineering-focused layout.
