Pros: I can add a project, estimates and budget and track overall progress. It has given us a more robust look at what is happening across all projects.

Cons: Too many features feel incomplete. The invoicing, estimates and user permissions are convoluted and lacking enough that our company cannot use them. Resource Management requires duplicate entry of information between planned and scheduled time. It should be easier to link the two together and plan around exceptions.

Overall: Benefits include matching estimates and budgets to tasks and breaking apart milestones with tasks and sub-tasks. Activity communication is pretty good.

Pros: I like that I can create templates for projects and groupings of tasks. I also like that I can export just about any information I need to an Excel spreadsheet/CSV file.

Cons: I don't like the automatic update to move a date out in Gantt view when I'm trying to create a dependency for a task following a task before it that occurs on the same day. It's pretty annoying.

Overall: This has streamlined project management within our agency, and made us more efficient with our time dedicated to project planning.

Comments: Great for overall Project Management and collaborating on projects with clients.

Pros: I like the Analytics and Insights tab for high visibility into utilization, resources, and high level budget tracking.

Cons: It isn't as bidirectional as other platforms are. The invoicing tool is not robust enough and the user permissions levels could use improvement.

Comments: Support has been willing to work with us on the needed we require.

Pros: It does a good job with hours tracking. I am able to see how much budget is left on a project. They also made major improvements on the ability to approve hours. Previously it was only approved by project which would be hard if you had multiple projects, but instead you can now approve by person when all their projects report to you.

Cons: It is a little hard to manage timeline with resources, but not because it doesnt offer it, but because projects always change and its hard to find the time to modify the changes needed that constantly happen. We find it easier to just manually adjust as things change.

Pros: The interface has some quirks, but overall it provides a lot of value to the end user to quickly carry out the tasks they need to do.

Cons: It still feels little bit of a work in progress. It's pretty snappy to respond, so the extra clicks aren't too much of a problem, but it could be smoother.

Overall: It dramatically improved and centralized our overall time entry and budget tracking processes.

Pros: I like the way you can create sub-data within a project/task

Cons: There are serious gaps in the product. #1: MavenLink does not allow for ulti-tiered timesheet approval process. This capability is a "must have" for any enterprise-level account and is provided in all of the solutions I have used in the past (OpenAir, Changepoint, Sophity, to name a few.)

Only the simplest of organizations can get value from this solution.

Comments: Overall, extremely effective in keeping our projects moving and keeping team members in the loop - may take a bit to get adjusted to the interface when coming from other PM software but that's expected when switching from any right?

Pros: - This is a great collaborative / project management tool that has kept all members of all teams aligned on project status - Love the hierarchy system, and the ability to be notified when my task is ready to be handled that is contingent on the completion of a task by another team member

Cons: - Takes a bit of time to get used to the interface, but once you understand the process it becomes extremely efficient - There are many places to put information, just have to be on the same page with team members where this information will go (description vs. activity)

Pros: Best detailed resource scheduling tool on the market. The ability to see capacity by person and by team has been life changing.

Pros: Master resource planning module, combined with built in BI Tool (Insights) offers users impressive data analytics functionality.

Cons: The only con that I can identify with the software is that it is not extremely customizable, but that is by design. It is straight forward software that doesnt encounter issues associated with other highly customized systems (breaks, lack of user adoption, over complexity)

Overall: Impressive visibility into the state and health of my projects and organization, greatly increased resource management capabilities.

Comments: Mavenlink would be an outstanding solution for anyone in need of organizational assistance. It's flexible enough to meet unique requirements, yet robust in ways that allow for in-depth project management.

Pros: ¿ Campaign-based invitations allowing only relevant team members access to specific projects ¿ Details, Checklists, Notes, Proofs, etc. for each individual task ¿ Post (and pin) overviews, descriptions, files, and comments to the Activity Feed to keep all team members informed ¿ Task-related Time-tracking, Budgeting, and Resource Planning for all types of team members ¿ Proofs section for collaborative reviews

Cons: ¿ Beginners may be overwhelmed with so many options and use-cases. However, the organization of tools and the vast availability of features and documentation help the user establish their own workflow that fits their unique individual needs.

We have been very impressed with Mavenlink so far. As an agile consulting company, we need flexible and responsive business systems to stay ahead of our competition.

Comments: This is far more than a project management app. This is a complete enterprise management platform.

Pros: Mavenlink provides an off the shelf cloud based business operations system that complements our business model well. We took advantage of the MavenOPs onboarding support feature as well and have been very well supported as we transition our current systems and projects into Mavenlink. Its ease of use, comprehensive support and economic price point delivers a comprehensive enterprise planning and reporting suite at a fraction of the costs of larger (more cumbersome) systems. The level of support from the Mavenlink team is really impressive.

Cons: I would like to be able to white label email notifications and organic Xero integration but when weighed up with the pros these fade into irrelevance. And that is saying something for us as we rely so much on integration.

Pros: Since I was hired a little more than a year ago, Mavenlink has been an integral part of how my team and I work on projects. Mavenlink's built-in modules have made it easy for team members to leave feedback on project deliverables. The platform also provides an archive of project deliverables, making it easy for team members to upload and download any given aspect of a job, from images to text documents. Mavenlink's task tracker also helps team members prioritize and stay on schedule. I would highly recommend Mavenlink for any digital marketing group.

Cons: Trying to find something I dislike about Mavenlink is actually sort of a challenge. Email notifications can get to be a little much, but those can be adjusted in users' profile settings.

Pros: Our team loves the amount of perspectives Mavenlink affords us when we need to gauge our incoming work and available resource capacities. The easy to operate Task Lists give our Creatives clear information when it comes time every morning to quickly get to work and know what is important and what can wait. The drag-and-drop gantt charts make scheduling and adjusting projects quick work for our Production team.

Cons: Given how powerful the suite is, it might come across at first to the unseasoned Creative as slightly overwhelming. Though, this feeling is quickly surpassed by empowerment once they understand how intuitive the UI/UX is.

Comments: It goes deeper than some of the competitors but is not very user-friendly when creating projects. Not very intuitive at all. Inability to create "placeholder" tasks within a project and run scenarios. Time tracking is extensive but very confusing. Onboarding fee very high compared to competitors and is very cookie cutter.

Pros: Very deep and detailed project planning. Excellent analytics capabilities. Multiple view options. Solid Mobile implementation.

Cons: Display and printing options very limited. No dedicated Mobile App. Setup and support are pricey for the level and detail of training they deliver. Very difficult to create planning scenario projects. If you want to "spec" out a project plan and not include actual team members receiving e-mails, etc. you can't do that in any meaningful way. Certain actions are "forced" so you can't override certain functions in order to create "what if" scenarios. Additional licenses are required even for creating users who will barely interact with the system. It gets expensive quickly.

Mavenlink is very good.

Comments: The only things I would need Mavenlink to add is as follows: -Have some sort of instant messaging service between members on a project. -Allow us to private more than one person when sending messages using m.mavenlink.com. -Have a real app that we can download from PlayStore/ Windows App Store or any other app store so we can use the full functionality of Mavenlink through the app -Also in the future, we could have some sort of video conferencing ability for persons on a project to have virtual meetings. That would be a dream!

Pros: It allows my colleagues in different countries to be kept up to date on different aspects of the various projects.

Cons: No instant messaging. App needs to available on Windows store/Playstore/other popular app stores so we can use Mavenlink on our smartphones.

Comments: I have been using Mavenlink as the primary account administrator for two different companies over the course of four years. The suite has proven to be an integral tool in my everyday professional life within the Marketing industry. It allows my teams to see only what they need to primarily be involved with for any particular day and clears away other clutter they may not be associated with. However, most importantly, it allows many different views when it comes to upcoming work capacity and profitability. This is the feature we were primarily after when signing up for Mavenlink. The instant-update gantt charts allow us to see both all of our current projects and each individual project. This, in addition to the robust resource management tools that are constantly being improved, as enabled our Production team to kick project input and scheduling into overdrive! Our Copy and Design teams love the real-time proofing module as well. The comparison tools are really slick.

Pros: Depth of data analysis and business intelligence, gantt charts, deep task detail options, resource scheduling tools, built-in expense and budget tracking

Cons: There is an intermediate learning curve and may come across as immediately complex to the uninitiated creative. However, 10-15 minutes of poking around and taking advantage of the learning tools and startup tutorials offered by Mavenlink's stellar customer service program will address this minor concern. Mavenlink is a fantastically powerful information source, and with that power comes some proper approach and learning. It's all intuitive, though!

So, yeah, you could call me an evangelist

Pros: Flexible, provides the ability to set up multiple templates for different types of projects, supports T&M and Fixed Fee contract types, integrates to SalesForce, provides multiple views toward project status, continually adding new features and capabilities

Cons: Gantt charts are still in need of a lot of work and help. Still buggy, no user-defined view preferences can be saved.

Overall: We implemented Mavenlink specifically to disabuse our organization of several disparate systems we were using for tracking time, task-level project management, and reporting on specific measurements/metrics like utilization, margin and capacity saturation so that we could improve operational efficiencies. We've found that the tool is very flexible, has some great native reporting capabilities that become exceptional when coupled with the Business Insights add-on, it integrates well to SalesForce, it has given us a much better ability to manage projects for clients as well as internal product development projects, and it provides us with much better capabilities toward planning organizational growth and managing to margin at the business unit level down to the project level. While there are still some glitches/issues with the Gantt views, and there are still things we wish it did better, Mavenlink has proven itself to be an exceptionally valuable (and very cost-effective) management tool; the company is consistently providing updates that are meaningful and adding value with subsequent releases that clearly indicate a willingness to listen to the voice of the customer in new feature requests. Overall, I'm personally very impressed with the software, given my team's requirements and unique operational environment.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you're not a particularly mature organization in terms of Project Management and governance, I highly recommend sitting down with Mavenlink's consultants and getting help with establishment of best practices and setting up your instance on the basis of those best practices and resulting workflow. Don't thwart your own efforts by simply applying the same flawed processes into a new tool.

Pros: It is effective and has a great user interface. The ability to customize the interface with company specifics is very good. Invoices look very professional as well, and are easy to send, save as a .pdf, and attach. I had a billing problem due to a rather complicated ramp up of my licenses, and they were very good to fix it and refund the overage, without any problems.

Cons: The permission levels seem a bit off, and adding people to projects does not always work like it should. There is a work around. I also have not yet been able to integrate it with quickbooks, however I have not yet spent the time with tech help to get that going.

Comments: We've been using MavenLink for over a year now and we are constantly learning new and better ways to utilise all the tools it has to offer. We use it as our core method of communication with our clients, it helps to have all the information in one place. The Time tracking tool is easy to use and we are hoping to take full advantage of the Resource Allocation and Gantt chart in the near future

Pros: - So many options and ways to customise each feature - Time tracking tool is very easy to use, our team prefers it over what we have had in the past - Custom reporting, especially weekly project reports, have upped our client communication game. Our Clients appreciate the extra level of transparency and it has helped us prevent a lot of surprises when the invoice is sent out. - Resource Allocation and Gantt chart really help when it comes to Project Planning.

Cons: - It's really difficult to see WHO is responsible for a task if multiple people are assigned to it. This is a problem when you are looking at a project and want to see who is responsible for what from 30,000 feet. Instead, you need to go to that specific task and read through the comments to see where it stands. There are a few workarounds for it, but then all involved extra work and monitoring to make sure everyone using the system is doing so correctly. - There doesn't seem to be a way to edit a comment once you post it - You can't customise the status options for the different tasks, so something is either in progress, not started, needs information, or completed. It doesn't really let you customise it to follow your workflows.

Recommendations to other buyers: Take your time when setting up your account and do some planning in terms of how you want to use the platform. There are so many different options and ways to customise it that you might get overwhelmed. Also, do a lot of training with your team as well as offer how-to content to your customers using it. That way everyone is using it the same way and you do not need to go back and double check so that you can run certain reports.

Pros: simple to you use, assigning tasks, creating templates, mobile friendly, integration with google apps.

Cons: not much we can think of.

Overall: We've been utilizing mavenlink for over 4 years and I have nothing but great things to say it. They've come a long way from 4 years ago and there's been many updates and improvements that pretty much covers everything you would need in order to manage any projects with team members across the globe or locally. It's a very robust solution that makes things easier to communicate with team members, assign tasks, dead lines, create templates for projects and even involve your client to review the progress and comment. It also intergerates with Google Apps which is great and you can easily sync your tasks on to your google calendar and attach email communications.

any firm that focuses on team projects should give mavenlink a try.

Recommendations to other buyers: take some time and learn all the features because it pretty much covers everything you would need to manage large or small projects with two or hundred team members.

Comments: Pros
- First and foremost, MavenLink has an amazing support team. They are extremely helpful and responsive.
- MavenLink is clean and modern in terms of the look and feel, plus we are able to customize it for our brand.
- Weekly reporting: Thanks to MavenLink, we were finally able to start sending weekly reports to to our customers so they would know how many hours were allocated to their Project the prior week and what tasks were completed. This is drastically helped our client communication.
- Easy to use: This product is relatively easy to use and get project, clients, employees up and running. Employees love how easy it is to log their time and keep track of various tasks. There is a bit of a learning curve to get people used to responding to and keeping track of tasks since it is set up more like a Social Media Feed than other systems.
- Clients love that they can respond to various tasks directly from their email, it helps keep everything in one place. The ability to start threads regarding specific tasks, upload/share google docs, post messages that also go to email, etc. has been extremely helpful when it comes to managing our projects.
- The team at MavenLink is constantly working on improving the product and educating their customers on best practices and different ways to use the platform.

Cons
- The 'activity feed' can be a bit confusing and cause some issues in terms of using the product. I have found that other options are more intuitive, while MavenLink requires some training and constant review to ensure everyone is using it correctly.
- I really dislike the fact that you cannot determine who is responsible for what task, ie if multiple people are assigned to a task, you cannot see whose hands it is in. There are a few work arounds for this issues (subtasks, only having one person assigned to the Task while the rest are followers) but they require more effort and are often over looked.

Comments: Great product, easy workflow, and integrations with other apps that I use. Their time tracking integration is invaluable to me as I can track the amount of time spent on my tasks and projects and then budget my clients accordingly.

Pros: Their support team is also super helpful. I find this useful as I don't need to train my team members how to use the tool - new hires just got to reach out to their support team.

Cons: Need more integrations with other apps. Probably a Zapier integration would help.

Comments: Mavenlink is on its way. Using it feels like they began with good questions about how a robust project management tool SHOULD look and work, and began developing from there. The interface is clean and open and the tools you have access to are head and shoulders above "free" offerings like Asana and Trello.

Pros: Nested task view is awesome, dependencies and Gantt charts are great and the multitude of ways you can parse the data is peerless.

Cons: Their "app" is a web app, with no offline mode. Really disappointed about this one, since we're moving from Asana, who's app is WONDERFUL.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you need task dependencies, project start dates, or any sort of budgeting incorporated into your task management, look no further. Otherwise, you may want to dig into the details to see if Mavenlink is right for you.

Comments: We use haven link since more than a year now and we can share that a number of insights we gain out of it are highlighting our defects very precisely. We were able to focus on our mistakes and glue solutions where needed. It is versatile too, so you can adapt it to pretty much any situation.

Pros: Features for planning and financial

Cons: A bit heavy to put your hands on at first, but once done you get happier

Recommendations to other buyers: Take the time to really run a project from a to z before making a judgment. Sometimes, heavy projects require robust tools that you can't just run with a spreadsheet.

Pros: Tons of great data.

Cons: Not very customizable. Takes a lot of work just to manage projects.

Overall: Mavenlink is crazy complex. It does A LOT. Which is great... if you need that much data. If you're looking for something a little more intuitive that doesn't require as much work to actually use, there are better options. Managing Mavenlink is a job unto itself.

Comments: I use this tool as an Engineer, to manage small-large scale technical projects. I find the tasking very helpful, but the navigation and interface is not extremely straightforward. I think there is a lot of functionality that I'm not aware of.

Pros: Ability to categorize and organize tasks; assign estimated hours and budget to each tasks, and view the project status and burn rate throughout the cycle of the project.

Cons: The interface is a bit difficult to navigate- lots of clicks to get to the right place. Unable to log time to a deliverable, and lack of options regarding different task statuses. This might be customizable and I just don't have access to do so. The organization of the different permissions is confusing as well.

Recommendations to other buyers: A great deal of assistance was required to build Mavenlink to meet our requirements, and we were very limited on the ability to integrate with our Salesforce system.

Comments: Mavanlink is good for managing projects WHEN it works. Initially when I purchased the software I was expecting a smooth sync between Quickbooks and Mavenlink- not the case. I ended up having to convert from Enterprise on my desktop to QB online in order for the sync to happen. That was not an additional task that I signed up for when I purchased the software. Even with the QB online, many times I am unable to create a project from a QB estimate which was the entire reason I purchased the software

Pros: Great for managing projects

Cons: Doesn't always sync with quickbooks. Customer service sucks unless you pay for it. Does not have a to-do area, only projects

Recommendations to other buyers: Asana is a free project management software that I wish I would have stayed with

Pros: Ease of use and communication. The ability to start threads regarding specific tasks, upload/share google docs, post messages that also go to email, etc. has been critical to successfully completing projects.

Cons: The only dislike I have is that I cannot push a change across multiple projects at one time. We use templates for almost every project we launch. Sometimes those templates get updated and those changes need to be applied to current projects.

Overall: We use Mavenlink to project management all new school openings and are now starting to use it for all of our large national events. Mavenlink has definitely helped us open more schools worldwide efficiently and effectively.

Before Mavenlink, communication and documentation were major issues around our projects. With Mavenlink, we are able to document our calls and follow ups within the system itself. Tasks linked to communications are also very helpful. The features I like best are ease of use, Dashboard view of all projects, Templates, sync to Google Apps, and Gannt.

Pros: Clean look and feel.

Cons: It's not as user-friendly as I would like. I wish it was easier to be reminded about tasks. I'm new to the software so there is still a lot that I have left to learn.

Overall: I've been using Mavenlink for about a month now and I'm really liking the tool. I manage a team of 8 x Account Executives for a Marketing Firm that deals with multiple people billing work on the same customers. As a manager, I've liked the reporting aspect. I suggest adding a feature voting tool so that people can vote on features they need added the most. I have a lot of suggestions. =)

Recommendations to other buyers: I do not like how a new window is constantly opening up. I ended up beginning to use the Timesheet feature to add time and that has been great. I wish it was easier to set reminders regarding open tasks. If I have a task that has started time and then add a sub-task it removes the time from the dashboard view even though it can be seen under timesheets, which seems confusing. I wish it was easier to see if I've already added time to a task and how much time. Maybe it's something I just need to understand better. I wish I understand how groups worked better. I would love a Starting Kit that I can give my new employees which shows them how to learn Mavenlink as a beginner. The Knowledge Base is good when trying to find something specific but not when you are just starting and don't know what you don't know. =)

Comments: We have used this product for over a year and it seems to be the most cost effective software for construction and inspection firms looking to track the progress of projects. We have used this program with ease and kept all of our projects organized and on time.

Pros: Customer Service. Ease of use.

Cons: Projects auto populate at 10 per page. You have to select the option to populate more every time you go to the projects page. I would like it to auto populate the entire list on the projects page.

Comments: Used Wrike for ~8 months and moved to Mavenlink over a year ago. In write you can't track time and expenses. The wrike issue tracking isn't great too. Before moving to Mavenlink, I looked at ~12+ project management tools. It's a pain to move platforms. So we didn't want to make the wrong move. There are so many tools out there. For us, a big priority was being able to track time and projects all in one place. Mavenlink does that and more. It's an awesome tool esp. for design teams and if a lot of your team is virtual.

Pros: - Time tracking integration. Don't have to use a third party tool. - Smart project task management. - Easy to track if "to do" is a "task" or an "issue" (very helpful for website projects where you have a TON of issues to deal with). - Easy to move tasks around and see the overall items you're working on. - Google docs integration. - You can track conversations all in one feed-- on more email. - You can respond via email.

Cons: - So many features. I don't use all of them. - They add on cool features... but want you to pay for them. - Expensive -- but worth it when you're managing a team and don't want to login to a ton of applications. - No dropbox integration. - Takes awhile to get used too. - You can't rename the issue or task items. For example, sometimes I want to change the status title from "needs info" to "client review" -- and I can't edit the status (I could do this in Wrike).

Recommendations to other buyers: - If you're tech savvy, I won't pay for the demo upgrades - Good tool if you have a team to manage and if you manage a lot of details. - Good if your team is virtual or mostly digital. - Not ideal for ppl who aren't tech savvy.

Comments: Mavenlink is hands down the most full featured solution for project management. We've tried just about every major application, and as developers & designers all of them are equally easy to use. However, Mavenlink's big win is the fact that you don't need to be a developer to understand the interface, and you don't need to have project management experience to understand how projects work and how to collaborate with a team online. It's truly the perfect solution for any business that has short and long-term projects where clients need to be involved in the process the entire time. There is no learning curve, and the friction is so low on the client end that adoption is just wonderful - there really is no training or explanation necessary.

Pros: Easy to use interface Project update email alerts

Cons: I wish it had scheduling software built-in.

Comments: When I started my new job as Project Director at Primitive Spark, we had a variety of systems for managing our clients and operations, but most were not connected. After researching a ton of project management tools, we found Mavenlink to be as robust as we needed it to be without being overwhelming. The quick snapshots of the Analytics reports let you know if you're on track while the trends that are pulled from the Insights are very powerful to help us manage and course correct our estimate, resourcing and burn rate. Onboarding was easy and I always felt I had the support needed. So happy to have a single tool to help me do my job successfully.

Pros: Resourcing, Scheduling for projections, the ability to compare actuals vs. scheduled/estimates, timetracking with a timer/timesheet or in the weekly timesheet tool - flexibility to do it however works best for you. Easy onboarding of team...

Cons: The Gantt chart is slow to load when you have a large project plan, there is no in tool estimate feature really that is comprehensive, there are workarounds, but would love to see that added.

Recommendations to other buyers: Great for a small-medium sized company. Really simple to use and support is great. This allows me to manage my team and my company's profits through easy-to-use dashboards to understand what's going on at a project level as well as companywide. I no longer feel like I'm throwing a dart in the dark. Take Mavenlink to combine all your project management and financial information into one tool, you'll be happy you did.

Comments: RESOURCE ALLOCATION
Resource allocation is critical in our line of business and it was a major component missing from Active Collab. It is the norm for us to have multiple projects at varying phases of completion and up to 10 team members working on various tasks. As you can imagine, it can become very hard to keep track of workloads and schedule new tasks appropriately. Mavenlink has been a game changer for us in terms of resource allocation! With the click of a button we can now view every team member and get a detailed view of their workload.
FINANCIAL REPORTING
While Active Collab was not void of financial reporting, we needed a solution that was more robust. Once again, Mavenlink did not disappoint. From financials to projects to people, there¿s a report for that! As the Business Manager, I really appreciate the ability to create custom reports. Every client is unique in their needs. Mavenlink helps me satisfy clients¿ needs as well as our own internal needs.

USER INTERFACE AND EASE OF USE
We really love Mavenlink¿s visually pleasing interface and the ability to custom brand it. We liked that the company utilized features similar to some of the popular social network sites. This helps to give it a familiar feel to new users. We also like that it does a good job being intuitive to users¿ needs. This makes it pretty easy for new users to navigate without much instruction. Although we did put some how to videos together for our clients to ensure that everyone is comfortable using it.

CLIENT COLLABORATION
Our clients¿ perception is our reality. It is essential that our clients be able to collaborate with us on their project every step of the way. We were very surprised at the number of solutions that did not allow this. Mavenlink really goes above and beyond in this department. Clients can even use their free profile to create and manage their own personal projects outside of their CommonPlaces project.

COMMITMENT TO IMPROVEMENTS
No one solution is going to land a check mark for every requirement on your list. The one thing that really put Mavenlink ahead of the other solutions we considered was the company¿s commitment to improving their product. Along this journey we heard over and over, if you notice that there is something that we can improve upon, please take a moment to email us with your suggestions. In the 3 months that we have had Mavenlink, we¿ve already been notified of 2 great improvements!

Pros: The technology that Mavenlink is built on is powerful, both in terms of speed and design ethos. Time-tracking and task management features are strong.

Cons: Initial appearances indicate a high degree of customizability, but the design is fairly restrictive on the whole. Creating custom reporting is very complicated and not intuitive. Mavenlink support's responsiveness to feature requests is not impressive.

Recommendations to other buyers: Jump into a trial and run a project from start to finish. If you are happy with how everything was handled, Mavenlink will be a good solution. If you find yourself wishing that it worked differently, don't expect that you'll necessarily "figure out a solution" or that it will eventually work the way you want.

Pros: We have only been using Mavenlink for a little over 3 month and have already started to see visibility and transparency across the organisation. Mavenlink Insights and analytics reports provide the company with a holistic view of all projects and accounts. We are now easily able to identity project metrics and figures without all of the manual collation and reconciliation which takes an enormous amount of time. Mavenlink have been extremely helpful and accommodating to get us to this point with help of the guys from the MavenOps Program. Mavenlink were very responsive to our requirements and always willing to help and provide alternate solutions or workarounds if system could meet the requirements. Additionally MavenOps were very quick at turning around reports that we requested. The reports were completely customised to our needs. If a feature could not be achieved the company can submit a "feature request" which means there is a chance that feature can be built later down the track. Mavenlinks 24/7 chat support has also been fantastic in helping the wider organisation with any questions. Overall the software is great but the level of support really helps to lift the product and the overall engagement.

Cons: Given we are an Australian based company there are a few things within the software which are set for the US, for example the date is in the wrong sequence and data refreshes happen at awkward times. These are only minor and don't stop us from achieving our main objectives. It would be helpful to have a little more control over these settings. It would be also good for Super Admin users to have a greater level of visibility. At present even admin need to be invited to a project to view the tasks and approve time etc. It would be helpful for Super Admin users to have this level of visibility with having to rely on a project lead to invite them to a project.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would highly recommend the software and the service. Advise I would give would be for the purchasing company to determine their objectives internally before articulating requirements to Mavenlink to ensure the original vision is not lost sight of. Mavenlink will work best if everyone is using the system consistently.

Comments: My company of ~150 reached its tipping point with project managers keeping .mpp projects plans in a file system. Our Traffic Manager was managing resourcing in another separate .mpp, so we had a very difficult time with capacity planning and could not interact well with our data. Mavenlink has hugely improved this with its reporting, resource management, project planning, and time tracking all in one system. We are very pleased with our implementation of this!

Pros: - Ability to compare scheduled hours to actual hours - Robust reporting, both custom and out of the box options - Interactive Gantt - Easy to link conversation to project tasks - Flexible project templates for team re-use - Custom fields - Amazingly supportive Mavenlink team!!

Cons: While these are my biggest cons, I also know there's improvements on the way: - Building a project plan takes a little getting used to if you're a diehard Microsoft Project person. - Timer doesn't allow you to switch between tasks very easily. - Can't easily export project plan or Gantt in a nice view.

Mavenlink will save you tons of time and money!

Comments: Mavenlink is pretty awesome! Though it can seem a bit pricey, the tool itself covers a wide array of what our company needs on a daily basis: from project management to billing integration with our Quickbooks. When it comes customer service, you can get ahold of chat service within seconds any day or time of the week.

Pros: Project Management Milestone Management Task Management Resource Management Invoicing Planning App integration

Cons: Mobile app still needs work Pricey, but not that much in the grand scheme of things. Needs better scheduling views such as calendar or kanban style options

Recommendations to other buyers: Mavenlink can be a "be all" solution for nearly any business. From project management to invoicing, it just works!

Pros: I love the way Mavenlink automates communication as the project moves on down through the workflow. By using dependency arrows on the gantt chart, our creatives are automatically notified when their tasks are ready to start. It's pretty slick!

Cons: How unforgiving the gantt chart is. I realize it's web-based in a browser, but it really needs an "undo" button.

Overall: We took on Mavenlink when we needed a 50,000 foot view of our department's capacity. The levels of organization that Mavenlink has brought our team's creatives have gone way beyond our expectations. People know exactly what they need to be working on when they come in in the morning. Plus, it allows us to monitor our team's capacity so we know when we need to add more than one creative to a job or even gives us backup when we need to prove why we need to hire more staff.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you're looking for that 50,000 foot view of your team's current workload and future capacity to take on more work, then Mavenlink will do a great job of that for you. Also, if you have processes that you do over and over the same way each time, Mavenlink makes scheduling them a snap.

Pros: The solution is clearly valuable. It increases our team efficiency, improves quality of time tracking, and makes data for decision making by managers more organized and accessible.

Cons: One of their greatest strengths can also be a weakness. They continually roll out meaningful upgrades. My experience is they are well tested, but sometimes the changes require people to adapt to a new way of accessing the same information. You need to be willing to adapt with it. You could not write a manual on how to use mavenlink and think it will stay up to date.

Recommendations to other buyers: Start with evaluating what the 2-3 core features are that are a must have for your business/team. Determine which applications to consider and assess them based on usability of those features so you know that you break-even and gain value on your investment quickly.

Pros: Does exactly what it sets out to achieve - provides a collaborative project management environment that hits all the right buttons. It has improved our project control and reporting and allowed us to engage our Clients. We stopped using Clarizen as soon as we found Mavenlink and are now weening ourselves and our clients off Basecamp. Mavenlink covers both deep PM features and functionality with an ease of use that allows clients to see what is happening without need to get involved with the 'how'. Whilst the product isn't 100% perfect - it is heads above other products that I have used and reviewed.

Cons: Needs a company/team calendar function. You need to be able to block out users absence / holidays / etc. easily - and Mavenlink doesn't handle that without having to set up an 'absence' project. GANTT / Project views - need to be able to save your views.

Recommendations to other buyers: Whilst getting to some of the functionality is not obvious to start with - I have found that 99% of the time it exists - and when you do find it (or the Live Chat points you in the right direction) then you think - OK that's actually obvious..... so if you take a trial - take the time to find out how to use it properly. It is one of the best products I've used over the last 30 years.

Comments: We run a small firm of 5-10 employee's and this software has revolutionized the way we schedule projects (MS project was far to aggressive for our requirements). Project flow, resourcing and scheduling are very intuitive and the level of detail is invaluable. The whole experience is easily customized to your kind of business (we have on average between 30-60 projects, up to 140 tasks per project to give you an idea of our scope.) We do not have a formally trained Project Manager on Staff but the interface was easy to learn and looks to be able to expand with us as we grow in size.

Our setup was a logistical nightmare however. Our assigned support expert was often non-responsive to simple requests and provided almost no real training on how to set up the system in a way that was tailored to our specific company requirements and billing structure. There are no phone numbers you can call, e-mail is the only communication method provided. We actually ended up trading in his support for extra time with a training manager who finally got us up and mostly running. I would say we are utilizing about 80% of what the software is capable of at 4 months into implementation mostly due to lack of attention to detail during setup. (We do not bill or invoice through this software.)

On a lower level support is wonderful. We often use the Live Help Chat (with a great success rate) and the knowledge base covers a wide range of topics and seems to be continually developing. If you have motivation and initiative this is a great product.

Pros: The folks at Mavenlink have clearly thought every possible eventuality faced by a user on their platform ¿ most of the time, it's a bit like they're in your head and understand what you want to do. Which is nice ¿ the product allows me to track time in multiple ways, and I don't feel too restricted. Editing time entries is also quick and easy.

Cons: Though the demo videos/webinars provided by Mavenlink are helpful, there aren't any guided walkthroughs for when you use the system as a new user. So if you don't put in the time and effort to find your way around, this could be off-putting (at least for some). Little hints, tips, and highlights of things easily missed could be really helpful, especially as (for some new users) there's already a lot of information to digest.

Recommendations to other buyers: Spend time getting to know your way around the platform, and the rest will fall into place. If you don't, you won't be getting the most out of your investment.

Which is nice ¿ the product allows me to track time in multiple ways, and I don't feel too restricted. Editing time entries is also quick and easy. My company uses Mavenlink for: ¿ Project Management ¿ Project Portfolio Management (PPM) ¿ Professional Service Automation ...and so far, it's helped tremendously to all three of the above areas, and beyond.

Pros: As en end-user (and not an admin user for our agency), Mavenlink helps me stay on top of my deliverables, timeframes and deadlines ¿ the automated email notifications only improve on this. It does this much more effectively than other software we've tried in the past. Having something like the Time & Expenses tab is also very helpful.

Cons: Though the demo videos/webinars provided by Mavenlink are helpful, there aren't any guided walkthroughs for when you use the system as a new user. Comments: I spent a lot of time setting searching for a project management tool that worked well within our company, gave us all the information we were looking for, was easy to work with, looked good and didn't force us to change our existing processes and ways of doing things. Mavenlink was the only software that even came close to our needs and since we started using it, it has really changed things around for our company. Thanks to all the information & financial insights that Mavenlink delivers, we are finally able to make decisions that are based on facts instead of gut feeling.

Pros: Mavenlink is very user-friendly and made it really easy for us to introduce the software to our staff. All information is kept in one place, which makes information-sharing much easier and everyone on the project has a better and more realistic idea of timelines, deliverables, allocated time etc. The support and customer service has been excellent so far, so a big thank you to Vanessa! The live chat is very useful and I also love that Mavenlink listens to its clients' feedback and uses their experience to improve the functionality.

Cons: The integration with Quickbooks UK is still very basic so we can't really make use of it at the moment. The time tracking could also be simplified as it can get a bit confusing.

Comments: As a Project Manager, I'm so excited that our company recently started using Mavenlink. I'm still in the learning stages but can already tell that Mavenlink is going to save me so much time, an amazing amount of time. I can't wait to dive in and learn more. The training that our Client Success manager has given us has been top notch. We have also successfully used live chat a number of times and when I submitted a support ticket for a question, the response time was very quick, the question was thoroughly answered and the follow up was quick and thoughtful. Kudos Mavenlink! I'm so glad that our company found you.

Pros: Initially very friendly and helpful. Project planning, time tracking, and invoicing clients all in one. . We started using mavenlink as an alternative to Microsoft project. Online Customer service chat was always quite friendly, although not always competent at helping solve problems. Although quite buggy, we were usually able to figure out suitable workarounds., and liked that project planning through invoicing clients was covered by the software.

Cons: Try something else. Had it two years, customer service got progressively worse.

Recommendations to other buyers: In October, Mavenlink stopped allowing free accounts to track time on projects from a premier user, and required that all users who want to track time require a full premier seat. As we have many subcontractors and employees tracking time on projects, this made Mavenlink no longer even close to cost effective. We were forced to move to timefox and Microsoft project. Using mavenlink for almost two years has made me appreciate the feature set of Microsoft Project. Mavenlink is not even close. If you are tracking time on projects Microsoft project online with project lite accounts ends up being cheaper than Mavenlink. Mavenlink is now trying to hold us to our 3 year, 3 seat premier subscription, not allowing us to cancel. They are claiming that they have not changed the service, and never meant for free accounts to allow time tracking, and it was just a bug all along that they¿ve now fixed. So go with Mavenlink if you want to be held to a contract you have no use for, and don¿t want to use, even if it becomes unusable because of changes they make.

Used it for over a year, hate it.

Comments: Since our startup we've used basic spreadsheet tools to capture and analyze data. It was possible to generate project metrics and profitability, but the process was cumbersome. That information is just a click away now. We've also eliminated much of the possibility of our employees entering time to the wrong codes with the task assignment functions.

Pros: Our organization includes some office staff, but is mostly made up of remote employees on our client's project sites. Mavenlink has given us a great tool for communicating with our team, as well as capturing time and expense entries via the Cloud. Our employees really like the interface and the ability to log time and expense from their mobile devices. Also, we've found the online workspace to be of great value in transmitting and archiving information and files. Our implementation included support from Laura Pierce and her BIASS team. Laura led us thru integrating our processes with the capabilities of the tool via a weekly meeting. Action items were identified and quickly addressed. Laura was always there to assist with answering questions and being a sounding board for my ideas. It was also a neat experience to have the BIASS team use the Mavenlink tool to setup and manage the BIASS project.

Cons: Most of the opportunities I see with the tool could be considered enhancements to the time and expense processing function and invoicing processes. These include: * More flexibility in the Admin's abilities to review, edit and approve project charges in the invoicing cycle would be helpful. *The ability to provide greater detail of expense charges on the invoice (which is a current action item with Mavenlink for us), and * The ability to push transactions that are not time and expense entries, such as taxes, unit bill amounts, etc. to QuickBooks would be helpful.

Comments: When my team began a search for a new project management and resource management tool we were replacing a file based process, which meant that project information was all over the place. Since we've implemented Mavenlink we've enjoyed a HUGE improvement in team members and senior managers knowing exactly where to find the status of a project, what tasks people are working on, how the budget is burning, etc., all in real time.

Pros: Staff Resourcing - Mavenlink is the only product we found that realizes how important resource planning is to a service company. With Master Planning and scheduled hrs we have added visibility and granularity into our resourcing plans that wasn't possible with our old MS Project based process. Mavenlink is also focused on improving this area even more in 2016, which I am very excited about. Project Planning - By introducing Mavenlink Templates into our Project Management processes, we've been able to standardize project plans and also make them easier to create. Partnership - Throughout my engagement with Mavenlink I have felt connected to their team and like my company was a partner rather than just another sale. They are always available to answer questions and ask for feedback about upcoming features that will benefit us.

Cons: We would really benefit from the addition of a view only user role for senior management, so we didn't need to manually add them to all projects. I would also really value some more search filter options on many pages and including search parameters into the URL so a specific search can be shared.

Comments: Last year, I took on the daunting responsibility of finding a task and time management platform that would strengthen our virtual company. Our internal staff and client workload had increased rapidly, and we were in need of an all-in-one product that would build and strengthen our processes. After evaluating several solutions, we found Mavenlink to be the best fit for our team. The immediate transition to Mavenlink was predictably bumpy over the first month (due to staff adoption), but Mavenlink's robust yet user-friendly (and Facebook-like) interface helped everyone catch on within weeks. Plus, Jacquie Smith (our account manager) really helped us plan for the roll out. We went from a company with no internal workflows to one with defined processes that have really helped expedite project set up and campaign tasks, while creating team bandwidth too. Mavenlink was definitely the right choice for us.

Comments: Our agency had been using Basecamp for project management since we hired the first employee. It was necessary to have a central point of communication and we found Basecamp is a wonderful tool for small agency's/teams. The drawback for our agency using Basecamp was trying to manage complex task schedules and monitoring/measuring the efficiency of our resources. We simply outgrew Basecamp. Mavenlink easily handles complex project mgmt and tracks the time/expenses of your team. The data we're getting out of Mavenlink now that we have numerous completed projects is changing our agency. ML helps us focus on completing projects on-time and on-budget.

Pros: robust project planning resource planning visual timeline (gantt charts) dependent tasks project profitability analysis

Cons: cost when compared to basecamp (or equivalent) the initial transition was difficult (I'm not sure that is avoidable)

Comments: Our website design & marketing team was looking for a project management system that could handle simple communication between ourselves and clients, management of both simple and complex projects as well as management of project financials/budgets. After hours and hours of research, we found that Mavenlink was the only system available that could do all of the above. We've been very happy so far with Mavenlink and their development team's noticeably frequent improvements to it. We look forward to using it in the coming years and highly recommend it for teams that need to stay organized and possibly manage project financials as well.

Pros: - Best overall feature set out of all systems available on the market - Modern, ever-improving interface design

Cons: - Only a small con: The only hurdle we've had so far is that we are forced to use a separate system to handle our invoicing (due to our industry/billing needs) and Mavenlink is built to use either their inbuilt invoicing system and/or Quickbooks as the basis for invoice management.

Comments: My sole purpose in getting this software was to replace 3 applications I was using that Mavenlink did in one. It manages my projects, tracks our time, expenses and reports our metrics.

Pros: I am able to build our project plans, assign users to their tasks, give them insight into their activities, budgets, timelines. We can track their billable and non-billable time easily now. Expenses are logged and tracked to the projects. In addition the reporting available allows me to see quickly how each project is doing.

Cons: The expenses needs to be worked out but Mavenlink has bridged that gap until they can enhance that part of the product with reporting.

Comments: We are using Mavenlink to manage our projects that involve multiple teams and stages of development. Many of these projects have over 500 tasks in each! The UI is intuitive and now we can communicate and visualize the lifecycle of each project and track progress. We used to do all this using Google office products and now that we transitioned everything to Mavenlink, we can operate so much more efficiently! Our team is so happy to have made the switch to Mavenlink. The sales and support team have been outstanding. Greg and Alex spent the time to demo the product and answer all our questions. They didn't need to give us a "hard sell" as the product speaks for itself!

Pros: The gantt charts, the UI, the way we can collaborate and see the health of all our projects. The customer support of Greg and Alex was outstanding!

Cons: Only allows for 5 levels of subtasks. Wish there was 8-10.

Comments: We switched to Mavenlink from several other applications, looking for a single tool to do scheduling, reporting and billing. Mavenlink is an excellent project management tool that is adding PMO/portfolio management features we definitely need and want. Their staff is very responsive and has lots of things planned for 2016 that have us quite excited.

Pros: Quick Web-based service offering most of the project management features we need already. Good roadmap communications with an obvious dedication to improving the product. Customer support is excellent!

Cons: The UI needs some cleaning up and streamlining introduced, which seems to be happening.

So call me a Mavenlink evangelist...

Comments: We use Mavenlink to manage dozens of concurrent project engagements across a number of development teams. I appreciate the elegance of the UI, the ease with which we were able to implement it in our organization, the flexibility and built-in reporting capabilities of the core product. Rate cards and financials integration is well done, and resource planning continues to be improved with intelligent updates. I highly recommend the Business Insights add-on; the extended reporting capabilities are well-thought-out. As important as the product capabilities are, the staff at Mavenlink are superb - Our Client Success rep is communicative, super-responsive and was exceptionally helpful when we cut over from our old tools for time tracking and task management.

Pros: Excellent built-in reporting, easy to set up for all members of the team. Does a great job with task, project, and role-level budgeting and financial reporting.

Cons: Doesn't retain customized views in the Gantt mode. Resource planning is good, but not quite there yet in terms of plotting multiple concurrent and projected engagements at the role level - but they're working on it. Converting estimated hours to scheduled hours works, but isn't as effortless as it could be.

Comments: We used Mavenlink for a few months. We didn't like it. We were conned into thinking there was a feature but there wasn't. This caused problems for our Company. We were never given an apology or a refund.

Pros: If you need to share projects and files with clients but also want a record keeping software this is good. If you don't mind that your clients see the budget.

Cons: Customer Service is horrible. They lie to get money. No refunds. Too complicated to use easily.
