Great. As my first accounting software I can easily make it work in no time, the functions are really easy to understand. The program is modern and functional and the customer service is very responsive.

Pros

Reporting and the ease of access with mobile app makes it great when you are on the move. Being a one man business is saving me a fair bit of time. Also customer service is very professional and efficient.

Cons

That a couple of things you need the laptop to create like certain categories. Would be good if that part of it is a bit more accessible on the phone.

Zoho Expense has been a very solid expense management tool for our business. The automations are one of the biggest advantages, especially for routing approvals, matching expenses, and reducing manual follow-up. Receipt submission is simple from both mobile and desktop, and the mileage tracking feature is practical and easy to use for employees who travel or drive for business. Overall, the platform offers strong value for the money compared with other expense tools, while still covering the core features we need. The mobile app is convenient for quick submissions on the go, and the desktop version works well for reviewing, approving, and managing reports.

Pros

What I like most about Zoho Expense is the receipt submittal process and the automated matching. It makes it much easier for users to submit expenses quickly and helps reduce manual review time. The matching is not perfect yet, and some expenses still require cleanup or manual attention, but the automation is still a major benefit and one of the strongest features of the platform.

Cons

The main downside is that there is a bit of a learning curve at first. Zoho Expense has a lot of capability, which is a positive overall, but that also means there are several settings, workflows, and options to understand before everything feels intuitive. Once it is configured and users get familiar with it, the complexity becomes more manageable.

Overall, Zoho Expense has been very useful for managing company expenses, advances, receipts, and approvals. Once the process is understood, it gives the accounts team better visibility and helps users keep proper records. It does take some setup and training, but it is a strong system.zing

Pros

I like that Zoho Expense makes it easy to record advances, upload receipts, create reports, and track expenses in one place. The reporting helps the accounts team see what has been spent, what still needs to be approved, and what needs to be reimbursed or reconciled.

Cons

The interface can be confusing at first, especially when working with advances, reimbursements, and company-paid expenses. It is not always immediately clear which option to choose, and small mistakes can make the reimbursement amount show incorrectly.

It features a direct two-way sync with Zoho Books. Once an expense is approved in Zoho Expense, it automatically records the journal entry or expense in Zoho Books, categorizing it to the correct Chart of Accounts and reducing the liability or cash account instantly.

Cons

While Zoho’s OCR is good, it can struggle with handwritten receipts, faded thermal paper (common at gas stations), or non-standard layouts. Users still need to double-check the "scanned" data before submitting Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Zoho Expense has simplified our entire accounting workflow. It offers fantastic features for the price point, making it an excellent value for money compared to pricier competitors. It keeps our expense reports organized, secure, and compliant without forcing us to chase down physical paper receipts anymore.

Pros

he automated receipt scanning (OCR) is incredibly accurate and saves our team hours of manual data entry every week. It connects seamlessly with our corporate cards, fetching transactions automatically. The mobile app is also top-tier, making it easy to snap receipts and submit reports on the go.

Cons

the initial setup and policy configuration can feel a bit overwhelming because there are so many settings. Also, while the standard reporting is good, customizing highly specific reports takes a bit of a learning curve to get exactly right

The biggest strength is that it feels like part of a larger operating system rather than a standalone app. When paired with Zoho Books and Zoho Projects, the workflow becomes very smooth. For a growing renovation or kitchen business, that matters more than flashy design.

Pros

Zoho Expense stands out mainly because of how well it fits into a broader business workflow rather than acting as a standalone tool. When connected with Zoho Books and Zoho Projects , it creates a smooth system where expenses flow directly into accounting and project costing without duplicate entry. The receipt scanning feature is genuinely practical for day-to-day use, especially for on-site purchases, and the mobile app makes it easy to log expenses in real time instead of relying on memory later. The reimbursement process is clean and structured, which is particularly useful when managing personal spend for business purposes. It also supports delegation well, allowing a virtual assistant to handle expense logging without exposing sensitive financial data. Overall, it delivers strong functionality at a very reasonable price point, making it excellent value for small and growing businesses.

Cons

The biggest drawback is the limitation of the free version, which begins to feel restrictive as business activity increases. Limits on receipt scans, users, and access to more advanced features can interrupt workflow once you scale beyond light usage, making an upgrade almost inevitable. The interface, while powerful, can feel slightly dense and less intuitive compared to more modern, simplified apps, especially during initial use. There is also a bit of upfront effort required to properly set up categories, workflows, and integrations to get the full benefit of the system. Without that structure, things can become disorganized. Very happy with the product and feel it is great value for the price. Will cancel my quickbooks account and move to all Zoho products.

Pros

I loved the ability to categorize expenses across different business (3+) and the ease of auto imports.

Cons

Wish you could multi match expenses if you're not adding receipts. You may be able to do this in another product of theirs; I haven't checked yet.

I like Zoho Expense overall. I have used other such as Concur before and Zoho is comparable experience for tracking expense but much more cost effective for a small business.

Pros

Zoho Expense is easy and convenient to use, with its phone app and web interface. The AI scan of receipts is very accurate nearly always. I like that I can just e-mail receipts in and the feature that highlights duplicates expenses helps me match the emailed receipt to the auto generated expense from the company credit card charge.

Cons

I don't like that I can not easily enter small towns or cities as the destination for per diem expenses. I have to determine the nearest large city that that is included in Zoho's list of destinations. I know I can create new destinations, but I am not going through that process for every small town I travel to.
