We have had good feedback from our clients, who use Zoho to submit their expense reports. They meet the deadlines without any problem. It is an ongoing process that facilitates them with easy ways to edit expenses, attach receipts, and send reports. Pros Set-up, implementation and training was simple. Zoho support was all the time helping us to go through all the steps to customize the application according to our needs. It is a friendly user application. Integration with QuickBooks Online was not an issue at all and doesn't need extra software to connect. Cons There are some banks that don't facilitate the automatic integration. However, this can be done manually. The statements are uploaded into Zoho without any problem. Finance Manager Religious Institutions Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Zoho Expense has been perfect for a mid-size church" December 3, 2019 5.0 Zoho has allowed us to store receipts digitally (saving space in my file cabinet) and get better descriptions of purchases. Using Zoho has definitely cut down on the number of lost receipts on staff credit cards (even by youth workers)! It has been reasonably easy for staff to figure out how to use on their own and works equally well on Apple and Android devices. Pros Function for the cost. It does everything we need and keeps us within budget. They even gave us a discount as a non-profit. It was also intuitive enough that I was able to get it up and running without a lot of extra training/issues. I watched a couple YouTube videos and called customer service with one question. Cons When I add a new budget category, it is automatically added to everyone's policy list instead of being able choose the often one or two who actually need it. I would also like to be able to completely eliminate mileage as a category. It is great for those needing structure and really don't know what is needed from an accounting perspective, but also for someone that wants to DIY the process to better understand what their account/bookkeeper needs. The customer support are reasy to work with. I was able to get started on my own really quick and was able to implement the expense module pretty quick. Pros Affordability, has all the functions I need to record, reimburse expenses. Good reporting. Cons I love Zoho expenses but the reporting feature for parent/child category works well only if yuo also use zoho books and see it under general ledger. Since we are also getting zoho books for our accounting needs its not a problem. I'd ask the developers to give the general ledger type of recording for the expense module also. As well, the ability to edit them and put them in reports that are made automatically and that saves a huge amount of time! Pros Love the app, and the ability to be able to just drag and drop receipts. The automatic scanning feature is great, you just upload it and leave it. As well, having a dedicated email to just forward your receipts to makes things easy. All these features allow me to easily capture my receipts rather than hunting them down at the end of the month. Cons The user interface could be updated to look more modern. On the app, some of the PDF's don't show and it would be nice to be able to view what the receipts are without having to download them and open them. Also has mileage tracking and timesheets if needed. Pros The features I like the most for expenses is the mobile app. You can easily scan a receipt and it uploads to the app. Very simple and easy to use. Cons The feature I like the least is how to add a receipt to a report. It seems that you cant create a report name and it appear in the drop down menu it seems that you have to create a new report of each receipt. Very confusing and not user friendly. Pros The approval workflow is commendable for this software. I have not experience a loophole on the process itself. The use of this expense management is really easy as I have used this without any training whatsoever. Cons Creation of the reports folder and the actual expense report may be tricky. I have had a difficulty in identifying which one should be done first and the correlation in between these parts. However, I may not know this because I have not gone into any user training. November 28, 2018 5.0 For quite a few years now, we have used Expensify.com to manage our trip expenses and receipts for 8 different cross cultural month long experiences. It worked well, but unfortunately in addition to a extreme increase in their rates, it was also not compatible with our newly purchased department devices that were acquired for the purpose of expense tracking. After finding Zoho, we realized how many features Expensify was actually missing, that we were paying more for. Zoho is highly customizable, works with every device and works better for our purposes than any other program we tried. We are so happy we made the switch and would recommend it to any company looking for a new expense program! Some of our employees have even started using it for personal expense tracking. It is an all-around winner! Pros I love the small features, like itemizing receipts and adding and matching expenses from cards. It's extremely easy to use and there are so many features, I don't think there is a thing Zoho doesn't have. I also love that it is compatible with all my devices, even Amazon Kindle. Cons It was a bit confusing at first, there was a small learning curve when I first started but I highly recommend watching a few videos and reading the help pages. September 4, 2018 5.0 We have departments that handle a higher volume of receipts using this tool to help better manage getting receipts attached to expense reports timely, especially while on the go! They can then submitted completed reports with receipts attached electronically. Pros Zoho Expense's ease of use both from a computer and a mobile device is excellent! We really like the mobile app because it allows easy capturing of receipts and adding them to expense reports while on the road. Cons The only thing that I feel like I can put as a Con right now is the ability to because to have multiple levels of approvals through like a workflow. This would allow a person immediate supervisor to approve lets say an expense report and then once they approve it gets kicked up to Accounting review team/management for second level approval. May 3, 2022 5.0 Pros Once it's set up, it's easy for our drivers to upload their receipts on the road. For our sales and office managers, I love that they can forward their emailed receipts to their Zoho account; no printing needed, and no more fuzzy pictures of computer screens. Cons Setting up the app was confusing for most of our users. When you first download the app and create your login, it moves you into creating an Organization immediately (thereby creating their own personal Organization, which is of no use to us), instead of steering them to link to our company's Organization. AI on receipt scanning is excellent. Pros Price, integration to Zoho Books, speed, security, receipt handling. Cons No integration with Fujistu scanners. Here in the US we still deal with full sized paper invoices and receipts. A phone picture does not get a good receipt on full sized paper. You need to integrate with Fujitsu Scansnap scanners.
