Nice invoices and easy for the client to pay on the other end. Overall I have stuck with it for a good long time and I like it enough that I haven't even looked to change it. Pros I have had this software since it was a free program. I use it for time tracking and invoicing my real estate clients. It works seamlessly with Stripe which moves my credit card payments to my bank for a small fee. The cost is very reasonable and if I had a staff of any kind I could give them some access to be able to bill for their hours etc. I now use the extension on chrome to login and track my hours which is incredibly handy and I dont have to have a window open just for that, it works in the background of all the open tabs. Overall I very much like it. Cons As I mentioned I have had the program since it started as a free account and I now pay for the lowest paid account as it is just me. I would love to be able to have some of the other accounting features and add my other business to it but that costs more. My biggest wish would be that they might include a few of them into the cheaper account as I am sure most people need the ones like account balancing etc. Also, it would be helpful if you did not also have to pay for another system like Stripe to get the money from your account to your bank. We just recently switched to another software. I can't really speak for the accounting end of the software, I know it has more features than what we were using. Customer service was OK, but we had problems that just couldn't be fixed and ended up moving to another platform. Pros The feel of the software is very current and easy to use. Cons It does not track employees clock in and clock out time, so we had to use two different systems to make sure our hourly time for our employees and our project time to bill our clients was reconciled. We ended up going with another software. Reason for choosing FreshBooks They give accountants a free account as long as you enroll in their FAN program. It's also incredibly user-friendly for the client, so I never have to field questions like "where do I put in my credit card info again?" I also appreciate the companion app, which is not just a responsive version of the website. It's lighter on features but has all the features you need on the go. Cons This is minor, but I wish they would tell me when I reached the limit of new clients on my account before I tried to set up a new one. Currently, the process is that I set up a new client and when I push "submit" they direct me to upgrade my plan. That's annoying. Just tell me I'm at my limit before I put in my info so I can archive an old client first. Pros For starters, I don't use all the features based on my work. However, the one item I love is the automatic emails that are sent when a payment is late. I like that I can construct the email text and time trigger. Cons One of the folks I deal with insists on a PDF invoice. The software allows me to create one, but then I have to send a separate email. The issue is the client just deals with that email and not the automated one I can send.
