Really! Every phone support experience I've ever had with them has been impressive. Every SaaS company should use Freshbooks as their standard to look up to and strive toward. Seriously, they're THAT GOOD! Pros Customer service is Freshbooks super strength. You won't find another company that has a better more competent support team. When you call, you get a human that answers the phone. And they know how to help you without having to transfer you around to different departments. I'm in love with this company. Cons I wish they would add signature integration with their invoices. But I understand they're not DocuSign. But if they did offer that option, their value would skyrocket in my opinion. Pros As a small business, FreshBooks is an easy to use system that let's you jump right in and do what you need to do. It's simple to navigate the features and the customer support is great if you may be struggling in a particular area. I enjoy using the system. Cons Cost is a factor, but not a deal breaker. It can take a while for feature updates to take affect and I would prefer to see more feature consistency across platforms between the desktop side and the mobile app. There is limited options for customization of simple features, as well, as it needs to benefit enough users as a whole to bother implementing. I immediately ran into roadblocks when I started using freshbooks. It seems more like software designed for a child in elementary school. Pros I like that it's super easy to create & send invoices, I like that it saves my customers to a database Cons The system is too simple. I dislike their childish prompts & hints that pollute every page regardless of the fact that I might already have used that feature. The general ledger is very poorly built out & difficult to use. There are very little customization options for invoices & estimates. They ran my cc on the weekend and suspended my account on the weekend, but they are not open on the weekends, and can't talk to anyone. October 7, 2022 3.0 Started out great, mostly because I didn't know any accounting concepts. The whole thing came to a head when I was billed twice in one year. There had been a mess-up in the accounting, I don't think I was overcharged, but when your accounting software can't keep their accounting straight you probably want to look elsewhere. I've since switched to Wave, and I deeply regret choosing FB over wave initially. Pros The invoicing and expense tracking are very well implemented, the mobile app works great. For these basics, it works fine. Cons I started on Freshbooks Classic, and after a few years, the lack of accounting features simply became too much to ignore. Coupled with the frequent price hikes, it's just too much for too little. Reason for choosing FreshBooks The time-tracking was easy and convenient, and Wave doesn't have that. Also, my first contract was using it and it was easy & free to bill them with freshbooks. In hindsight, I saved hours and wasted weeks due to the lack of proper accounting features, all while spending thousands instead of free. Pros 2 years ago when I started using FreshBooks, everything was perfect but recently they are having issues with their third-party apps and can't deliver the services they advertise. Cons Accounting is the most important function that FreshBooks offers and due to connectivity issues, they can not import transactions from banks. It's understandable that there might be issues with these platforms but I have had this problem since January 2022, which is over 5 months now. It's not." March 20, 2016 1.0 As a freelance bookkeeper, I hate Freshbooks with a passion. My client uses it, and he loves if for invoicing, but it's really not good for anything else, and without even a basic reconciliation feature, it's an absolute nightmare to try and figure out if any of the information is correct on the limited reports it allows. Even a report listing just the entries for reconciliation would be a vast improvement. Also, there is no way to reverse entries other than just deleting them, which is absolutely ridiculous. Overall, I will probably turn down clients rather than work with this software again, unless there are major changes. It needs VAST improvement. It doesn't even integrate with common accounting software. Pros I honestly can't think of any. It's easy to invoice for computer illiterates? Cons It's touted as accounting software, but it isn't. It doesn't even work with actual common accounting software, making it functionally worse than useless. Advertising it as accounting software is fraudulent. You can see a list of entries by running either the payments collected report, or the expense report. If you want to get into details for your sales, you can also run the items sales or the tasks invoiced report to help you with your reconciliation. We offer an Accountant Center feature for bookkeepers to be able to export their clients' data to IIF journal entries file that can be opened in other accounting softwares, and any entries deleted are counted as a reverse entries in the journal entries that are tracked in the background.
