Freshbooks has been wonderful to work with. The customer service is absolutely wonderful. They are always there when you need assistance. It EASY! I LOVE THE SOFTWARE.

Pros

What I like most about this software is the little effort I have to give to the paperwork side if our business. Freshbooks is very easy to use and it makes it fast and simple to do things such as time tracking and keeping track of receipts.

Cons

The only thing I don't like about it is that they do not offer payroll. If they did, I'd fully move back over.

### "Great for timekeeping and invoicing, but challenging for bookkeeping"

Great for invoicing and timekeeping, but bookkeeping function requires a course in accounting or more in-depth training that I just didn't have time for.

Pros

As an attorney in solo practice, the timekeeping function is great. I can use my app or use the computer easily, and it tracks my time in a neat report for clients beautifully. I also find invoicing clients very simple, although I've found some difficulties with customization when it comes to my clients on retainer. Otherwise I've been very pleased.

Cons

I had a very difficult time using the bookkeeping software on the program. I couldn't customize taxes, and I found that because I have no background in accounting I was really messing up frequently. I ended up outsourcing bookkeeping to Bench, which has worked out fine but it's only been a couple of months. the difficulty using Freshbooks for bookkeeping made tax time very difficult and stressful because I had to completely redo what I had entered in the program.

I have been extremely pleased with Freshbooks so far. It has greatly reduced the amount of time tracking, billing and accounting as well as expense tracking .

Pros

I like the fact that it is incredibly easy to start the timer, associate it with the client/project, and then stop the timer when the session/work is done.

Cons

I don't like the subscription model, especially when many new features require higher levels and therefore more money.

### "Accounting software for non accountants"

I used to use quick books and I hated every moment. Freshbooks is for the small business that isn't in business to do bookkeeping. You sell a service, you expense products, you invoice your client. Everything I need, nothing I don't.

Pros

It is so easy to use. I hate accounting, you don't setup a chart of accounts, etc. You track your expenses and time, you invoice them, it just works.

Cons

It would be nice to have some better ways to find old time entries, but its always being added to so it is likely going to be addressed later

### "A SaaS using Freshbooks API"

Prior to integrating with Freshbooks (FB), we evaluated a handful other vendors to use for our billing/invoicing integration (bookkeeping wasn't a concern at the time) and found that the other guys simply didn't handle subscription billing, taxes, and/or automated billing like we needed. During the integration about a year ago, I was blown away with FB's customer service. How many companies these days have a human answering the phone within one or two rings? That's right - no auto attendant, no leaving voicemail necessary. These guys make customer service a priority, hands down - and it's some of the best I've ever seen. Here's an example: a few weeks ago when a DoS attack brought down DNS for much of the internet, FB was affected. I hadn't seen the news, so I called FB to report the problem. During this giant outage where I know they had to be receiving an enormous volume of calls, a live FB operator answered the phone within one or two rings and explained the DNS issue. Logistically I don't know how they pulled that off, but I was impressed. So nothing's perfect, right? Here's the bad - and the reason for only 4 starts on the features/functionality. While we weren't initially looking for a bookeeping package initially, we ended up using FB for this, too. While it's easy to use and does a great job overall, it is missing a key component - the ability to reconcile with the bank. So the task of generating balance sheets & account reconciliation has to occur outside of FB. If you're a big business, this would likely be a deal breaker. I've read there's an update in the works that adds this functionality, and I'm really looking forward to it - but as of the time this is written, it's not been made available to me. All in all, this is a great accounting package - super easy to set up & use, amazing API functionality, outstanding customer service, with one potential hiccup for some clients which hopefully will soon be resolved.

I do the invoicing for my husband on this and quite frankly its so easy to use that he can now do it himself. I honestly like the user-friendliness and the fact that you can add online payment methods and send off the invoice straight to client.

Pros

Ease of use and integration from pc to mobile. The fact that i could copy repetitive invoices and projects saved me a lot of time as well. Availability by the touch of a button

Cons

trial ended too soon... but was worth it! because I purchased the full version.

### "Freshbooks just keeps improving. "

I've grown, Freshbooks has grown; we've grown together over the years. Really no complaints - and a support team that other companies should model themselves after!

Pros

Ease of use, especially since the redesign, integrations with PayPal, etc. does save some time, integrated time tracker (although I still primarily use Toggl), makes book keeping - dare I say - fun? (Ok, as fun as it can be!). Great support - I've had timely replies every day of the week and after hours. Impressive!

Cons

I've had some integration issue (transactions not coming in, duplicates, etc.) but Support has always been helpful. They've offered to manually import transactions for me on more than one occasion. I'm on a paid tier but I'd have to pay more for some of the features I wouldn't mind trying out. Not in love with the subscription model, especially when many of the new features require higher tiers. Doesn't really make sense to be hooked up to an eCommerce platform given their tier limitations.

Overall, our experience with FreshBooks was a positive one. It is a program that is simple enough for our team members to be able to answer customer questions, accept payments and create invoices, yet robust enough to provide our Director of Finance with the financial data he required for his reporting and projections.

Pros

Freshbooks is fairly intuitive, even if you do not have an accounting degree you can find the information you're looking for. Creating and publishing invoices is simple enough for anyone to do. I like that there is a default description line for the product/service, but you can customize the content on an ad hoc basis when needed. Pre-built reports exist to pull commonly requested data from the system.

Cons

When updating the name of a product / service, it would be nice if all existing line items on an invoice could be updated as well, instead of updating each item for each customer invoice manually. When viewing a customer's invoice history, I would prefer to see the total at the bottom of the list be the outstanding amount due, instead of just a total of all invoices (paid or not). It would be nice to have different invoice types/templates/layouts for customers with specific services (to indicate special terms or changes for example). Additional customization of reports would be a nice addition.

I would say it is a fairly easy and good-enough software to use for really small scale businesses, but as an employee working in a SME, it would always be better to have some reassurance that the business might scale and therefore, limitations of the software would start hindering the work process. I would rather opt for a software that is easily scalable and pay slightly more (depends), rather than having the need to familiarize with a new software all over again and port in my previous data.

Pros

Basic set up is fairly straightforward and easy. Interface was easy to understand and I love the overall interface as well- simple and classy. Able to get started within a few minutes. Unlimited invoices and estimates, time tracking, online payments, expense importing for lite users.

Cons

Can't scale easily. Data exporting isn't as straightforward and simple, I had to export data and make sure all formats are in place before integrating it with other systems. Limited mode of payments. Reports available has limited amount of data. No capabilities to address payroll methods.

### "Freshbooks is essential for my business"

I have been using this product for years and have been very happy with it. It takes care of all my time-tracking, invoicing and reports. I purchased it with a special deal way back when and they have honored this price the whole time. I pay about 10 bucks a month for a superior product and it fills all my needs.

Pros

Easy invoicing and time tracking for multiple clients makes it easy to automatically send clients customized invoices that look clean and professional. I can even track expenses on a per-client basis. It also really helps in preparing end-of-year tax reports. It's intuitive to use and easy to figure out how to use event the most obscure of features, plus there is a lot of help files available online.

Cons

There really is nothing I don't like about the product. I tried to think of something, but with the new software version everything was fixed of the minor things that annoyed me with the older version.

I started with freshbooks by chance. I started trying it during the 30-day trial that it provides to the user.. Then I began to notice its accuracy in conducting the calculations. Then I discovered the mistakes that the employee in charge of these matters in my organization was making.. Now I can't actually do without him... Honestly, freebooks has become An irreplaceable employee ..

Pros

freshbooks is a great tool and offers many advantages .. It is confusing to talk about the best feature .. What I really liked most are the charts that it shows me, which shows the amounts due to my company in addition to displaying the monthly profits and many other things ..

Cons

After using it for a period of about 16 months, I did not find any defects in it, but at first it took me a little time to learn to use it and get used to it, but I think the problem was my lack of knowledge about these topics.

Pros

Easy setup, easy to use, and if you ever have a question or issue, you can actually call and talk to a human who will help you out.

Cons

Would like to see a less complicated method for taking alternate payment options. Somemm clients prefer to pay in ways that are not supported. But all the major ones are supported, just not many lesser know ones.
