Creating invoices takes seconds. I have my business credit card synced up so that all of my expenses are imported automatically, so come tax time instead of spending a week preparing everything it takes me a few hours. I've used it since 2007 and it literally has not been down or inaccessible one time -- which is unheard of for a SaaS product. Everything about it is rock solid. I've had to email support a few times and they always respond within a few hours. I love how it tracks and records time, and has a companion desktop app called Chronomate which is better than any time tracking app I've used. My only complaints about Freshbooks are that the interface looks a little dated and the mobile app doesn't have all the features you find on the web version. Other than that it's perfect. I run a product design studio and have been in the industry for over 15 years. I'm very picky/selective about products I choose to use and Freshbooks is easily my favorite and the one that adds the most value of all to my business. Review Source Syed Ali B. Now that my business is expanding, I'm starting to outgrow the platform, which makes me sad, because I hate Quickbooks for invoicing. My clients love my Freshbooks invoices, and they find it easy to pay me and all of that, so I'm eager for the new and improved updates. I have really enjoyed using it to track my invoices and ensure that I am paid in full for the work that I am doing. Pros The way for your freelancing clients to pay you. I have been freelancing for 2 years now and this is the only software that I have found easy to use and extremely helpful when it comes to accepting payment, tracking invoices that were not paid, and totally the amount made each year. Cons I don't like the cost structure. You pay $15 a month to have up to 5 freelance clients. For starters like me that want to have 1 or 2 for a few years before really building this, $15 a month is a little steep. " April 5, 2018 5.0 Pros Freshbooks is a very simplistic accounting system. It has an easy to use and update interface, it has decent reporting and relatively easy to change up when needed. Cons The API's with Expensify didn't work correctly which was really frustrating. The work around was sloppy and led room for human error. At the time, there was no plan to update the API. With FreshBooks, I received payment from suppliers and customers. It's great that you could do everything from a smartphone, a computer was not needed at all. Cons FreshBooks has too simple functionality. There you can’t manage stocks and discounts, conduct trading analytics, and financial analytics can be carried out only on expense items. Over the years I have started several small businesses, solopreneuer style, you know... the one man show, in charge of everything, including doing the books! Which for guys like me is a bad idea, and although we know it, we rarely ever learn or make a change. My struggle to find the "perfect" system to organize my business left me in a hold pattern of outright procrastination, scrambling to find receipts in a shoe box at the end of the year because I needed write offs to lower my "outrageous" tax bill. Looking for a fresh start with my latest business venture, I decided to get organized step one... that this time it would be different! And it is. Thanks to FreshBooks. FreshBooks has changed the way I do business and has made me 100 times more efficient. I invoice clients for one-time projects directly, I have clients paying for subscriptions on a recurring monthly payment, I upload and track all my income and expenses, and run reports that show me real time numbers. Integration with Stripe means money transfers into my bank account automatically. I realize this might sound so basic, but I think that's the point! I didn't realize that what I thought was an absolute nightmare (doing the books), could be handled very simply in as little as 5 minutes a day. Having sent out over 350 invoices in the last year, I have not received a single client complaint. about the online invoicing. Actually quite the opposite is true, I received a business review online that claimed they loved working with me because of "ease of payment for services". FreshBooks is awesome, I highly recommend it. If your books have ever been described as a "hot mess", then you need FreshBooks. For example, the division into categories like "expenses", "invoices", "time tracking", "projects" and so on is helpful to plan the next move and to be always ahead of time. One of the key features is also the simplicity of using the software itself and the very friendly interface. The mobile app works even better than the software, so I'm very happy with this. Cons Honestly speaking, nothing at all! Maybe I would just change the colours on the main page of the software, but anything else is perfect. I love that I can easily create, save, and send invoices to my client. It was easy to download and install on my computer. I really like the dashboard, it gives me a really good overview of my profits and if any invoices are outstanding. The support function is also easy to use. I haven't used it yet but I think the time tracking feature is really cool. Cons I haven't been able to figure out if it can calculate HST/GST (taxes) for you. It made things pretty simple to setup invoices, send them to clients, and streamline the process of invoicing. Cons The UI feels has gotten better, but for a long time it felt extremely dated. The other aspect is the cost. Quite simply, there are other products that you don't have to pay a monthly fee for just to use the software (like zipbooks), which has made my use of Freshbooks far less frequent. It's very good value for money. Pros For small companies like myself, the good invoice functionality was very useful.Ease of use, simplicity and reliability. Cons It's really disappointing that customers can't pay through the invoice, and the system is down a lot, so the information is lost. Most of our clients use it, and the ability to pay with our PayPal balance directly from the email invoice is convenient. I now use a different app for accounting because FreshBooks was a bit pricey for me, but it is a beautiful app that does its job well. Pros It makes invoicing extremely quick and easy. You can upload your logo and brand colors to make customized invoices to impress your clients. You can also send testimonial requests as a part of your invoicing process.
