Cons Even if allow us to register all our work and make a very professional invoice, the payment option not can be easy integrated, some banks accounts don’t accept JON export or have web integration options, also if the client made a payment using other methods, all the information need to be added by hand and take time. The app for mobile are very low on features, could be a great option to bring more features or more access to all that freshbooks allow, for views it’s ok, but for work, need a lot improvements. Since then, I have adored it. What you get for free is amazing! They would have greatly impacted the way I managed previous projects if I had known about them. Their customer support is helpful and cordial. I heartily suggest them. Pros My clients now pay me on time because of . Previously, I sent invoices to clients by email and normal mail in the form of PDFs, but the problem was that they didn't always pay. Because you just throw the invoice in the trash and try to remember to pay it when you can, I'm also guilty of this. However, with Freshbooks, I probably get 10–20% of clients to actually pay on time because there is a quick online option of paying with a credit card right there and then when the invoice is sent. Using credit cards obviously results in a 1-3% loss, but gaining speedier payments is more significant than that amount. Cons Can have issues linking to a credit union account if that is what you use for your business. Might want to consider switching to a bank that is better accepted. Pros is beginner friendly and integrates with Gusto payroll. For a solo owner with very little finance experience this may be a good enough option. For businesses with complex reporting needs, I would run not walk away from this software. Cons I've experienced many problems with automatic entries being incorrect. Very simple things that I can easily adjust in QB or QBO but create a nightmare in and support was never able to fix them. Also, I think the cartoony financial statements are embarrassing. Most everything we used or tried required multiple systems that either didn't integrate at all or didn't integrate well, and required a lot of time to prep invoices and collect payments. Frehsbooks eliminated all of those issues and paid for itself in the first month. Pros It saves my team hours of time every month. It easy to manage clients, track subscriptions, track hours and send invoices. Oh and it makes taxes season a breeze! The milage tracking feature has saved me over thousands per year in taxes since they released it. Cons The only complaint I have with is the Expenses feature. It has the ability to connect to your bank account to automatically pull in your charges, however, it never stays connected to our bank and it becomes a hassle. But they are great about helping to resolve the issue when it happens. Owner Construction Used the software for: 2+ years ### "The Worst online Invoicing System on the planet" December 17, 2019 1.0 is the worst company I have every dealt with. I had a legitimate complaint about the software duplicating, triplicating and some times four versions of the same transaction. They ignored my complaint for over a year and when I finally reached a VP to discuss, then cancelled my account in under 48 hours losing years of business information, including invoices, contacts etc. Freshbooks goal is to get your money and then destroy you business. To add insult to injury, 18 months after Freshbooks canceled and deleted my account, they charged my credit card for another year subscription. Basically Freshbooks wants your money, prepared to sell you a horrible solution, will kick you off if you complaint too loudly and then charge you for another year with zero accountability. Freshbooks should be facing fraud charges and or a Class Action lawsuit. I expect either very shortly in the future. Pros The software was easy to use and did allow me to set up a single customer with multiple email address (you can not do this on Quickbooks) Cons The software was horrible. It would duplicate, triplicate and sometimes four times recreate the same bank account or credit card entry. this made life for my book keeper a nightmare. You then complain about this oversight and would ignore your complaint, indicate it was a once only issue (which it never was) and eventually will kick you off their platform with less than 48 hours notice losing years worth of business information, including invoices, contacts etc. Freshbooks will go down in the Hall of Fame of worst business software platform ever. My advise to all is avoid this platform at all cost and use another online solution. Freshbooks will screw you over the first chance they get. It integrates nicely with my existing technology stack, so when a client books a session using my booking tool, via zapier, an invoice is automatically created and sent. Only downsides I have is that for the price I am paying, 50 active clients is not enough (I keep having to archive clients). I don't use any of the other features, and so while the pricing is competitive when you factor in everything else. For my use of just auto-invoicing and collecting payments via Stripe, it's a bit much. But there is no other option, or ateast one that I have found. Pros Being a Canadian business it was important that I find something that can integrate with local banks. does just fine. Tax management is simple and straightforward. I can use my existing Stripe account without paying additional fees. And my biggest need was automated reminders to collect payments. " June 12, 2018 3.0 Pros Simple invoicing tool especially who need it for API integration. Very good tech support. There were only few problems for the last five years. Cons We've used Freshbook for five years since 2013. Very simple invoicing tool with limited functionality though. But it worked good for us and the support was fast and helpful. We paid a little bit annually for "evergreen" plan. We integrated FB API through our websites and our payment systems. But last year Freshbook suggested a new plan which was three time more expensive. We declined it and after few emails back and force we accepted the apology from the freshbook's staff along with the promise to keep the existing plan for us. Yesterday I had a phone call , who offered us a new plan again - six times more then what we pay now. It is obvious Freshbook is transforming from an invoicing tool into a merchant. But we have our own merchants including popular paypal (it looks like won't be supported soon at Freshbook) and all we want is to keep what we came here for - invoicing. It will cost us lot (more then triple yearly fee I figure) to move data, set and tune a new API invoicing tool. So if you decide to do business with Freshbook - think twice about possible "new plan" trap we ended up with and read their terms well. There are other cheaper and better solutions available. Also, certain functions like time tracking for multiple users, was an added expense on top of everything else. I needed something simpler, but that covered the basics of time tracking for multiple users, invoicing, and basic accounting, while not charging me for bloated features that a small business like myself would not need or use.
