A really good solution with an excellent price compared to many software options. Very easy to use and simple to expand and contract as needed. No huge investments required. A few areas to keep improving. Hopefully the changes can keep up.

Pros

The software is easy to use and full of features. Really well suited to straightforward rentals and a small to medium business. Cloud based makes it excellent from a hardware requirements and access point of view.

Cons

There are areas that need more flexibility especially once you want to move away from the basic to anything more complex. It can be difficult to make it work to your own business rather than as per the original.

### "Enjoying our experience but room for improvement"

Overall we are very happy with current-rms and the few cons are vastly outweighed by the pros of the system. It's a good fit for our company and it's been a pleasure to use for these past ~5 years.

Pros

The UI and UX on current-rms is fantastic and very intuitive. It's very easy for us to onboard new hires onto the system and the support materials and tutorials online are good. It has a good level of functionality for our needs and does almost everything we need to operate our business. The cloud based design is also very convenient and the ability to customize documents within the software ourselves is very appreciated. It is also great to see new features and improvements consistently implemented. It's a joy to use everyday!

Cons

My biggest area of frustration with current-rms are with the inventory checking module and functionality, while it does work it's very bare bones and when we do our annual inventory check it's constantly causing us headaches and we often have to use other tools simultaneously (spreadsheets, documents etc.) to properly keep track of where we are in the inventory check process. The way the inventory module is laid out makes it very difficult to look up the status of a specific item during an inventory check. My other frustration is the lack of custom reports, you can create custom fields and lists of values, however reporting on those is not possible, we had to hire an outside developer to implement a tool via the API in order to achieve the full functionality we needed for our business. The software would be pretty much perfect in my mind if it had a robust inventory checking module and the ability to do custom reporting.

I really appreciated the great UI/UX design on current-rms and by using the free trial I was able to quickly determine it would meet almost all our needs. The integrations with quickbooks and the open API were also selling features for us.

I have recommended Current RMS to many companies in the past (who are now also Current RMS users). However I have not been able to recommend Current RMS recently as I feel like the development has come to a complete halt. New features take months to be released (if at all), and old releases are still in Beta and in desperate need of updates. Currently in the market for an alternative solution with more advanced features, and a better development lifecycle.

Pros

Current RMS is great if you need a simple, one-stop solution for a small or medium sized rental company with basic feature requirements. Their support team is very efficient and helpful. Great documentation and easy to integrate with other products, either via built-in integrations or the API.

Cons

They have been very slow to implement new major improvements to the system, especially given the extensive list of feature requests by the community. Mobile application is terrible, and there are long periods where no features are released at all. Current RMS was designed to be as universal as possible, which is both a positive and negative. Reporting function needs a lot of work, and is currently BASIC.

### "Our Experience with Current RMS"

Current RMS has been great for us so far, but we make up for the lack of pretty key features like payment integration, and online booking with lots of hours of extra admin and processes that we'd love to see automated and integrated into Current, to make it streamlined for our customers and free us up to spend time improving our business rather than maintaining it by being buried under lots of computer time.

Pros

Current RMS provides our company with a great asset management tool and the necessary systems to ensure that stock is managed well by our team and delivered properly to our clients.

Cons

It would be great to see a credit card payment link integrated into the invoices produced by Current, much like Xero integrates a payment link using Stripe on the invoices it produces. This would reduce steps in the workflow for our administration team and reduce confusion with our customers. Currently we have to post an invoice in current and then generate another invoice in Xero to create a credit card payment link when our customers want to pay that way. Another issue that would be great to see resolved is part payments. When a customer pays a deposit and it is credited towards the invoice, it would be ideal if the next invoice that is generated automatically takes what has been paid and applies it to the invoice so that when the outstanding amount invoice is generated, it shows the amount left owing automatically. Currently it seems that it needs to be worked out manually. Another feature that we are desperate to see is website integration for online bookings. Currently we have a website that accepts equipment orders, then we get the order and have to manually add it to Current RMS. The issue is that customers can't check if the product is actually available before booking, can't book for multiple days and have to wait for us to check and confirm the order after we've manually done it on Current. We would gladly pay more for the service if this feature was integrated, much like what Booqable offers, but with the features that Current provides.

There has been a long period of no development and new features. It seems to be picking up now. Some obvious functions are still not in there. They are on the 'under consideration' list but would love to see them released.

Opportunities to invoice needs some work for the hospitality industry as client makes changes very often. New document process is very long winded. Can take up to 6-8weeks to have new documents developed hence we tend to stay away.

Pros

I like this software because I find it easy to use and the customer service is very efficient. If I am unsure on how to do something and I contact Current via their online chat, I usually get a response almost straight away. Previous rental softwares that I have used over the years have not had this option and it caused a lot of frustration.

Cons

We do permanent installations which involves a lot of sale items. The process for booking items out are treated the same as rental i.e. book out, check in, finalise check in. It would be good if the system could identify a sale as not requiring check in.

Hi Alison, Thanks for your lovely feedback! Your thoughts around sale items automatically being marked as sold as soon as it's been booked out is very good feedback. When we initially designed this, we allowed check-in for those businesses that put 10 consumable items out on an order, but perhaps only 8 were sold/used and 2 were returned, and this is what the check-in process allows. However, we understand there's lots of businesses that don't want that extra step. I've submitted this to our product management team as a potential development quick win and our team will have a discussion on what's entailed to make this change.

Overall, happy with the software. The only times we've had struggles, it was down to us needing more training rather than the system itself.

30 day trial - Full ability to try the software before making a commitment to it The price includes YouTube videos and live zoom sessions The support team gave me import templates to easily upload my equipment Not locked into any contracts Can access the system on mobile whilst out on the road Ability to speak to the support team instantly on the phone

There's been a couple of times I haven't had the response I wanted from support, but when I escalate this, the senior members of the team are very knowledgeable and happy to help.

Flexible and customisable, the system is relatively easy to use . I like age addition of pictures for all equipment and pricing structures.

Cons

Lacking in clear instructions on some of the features, integration with 3rd party crm non existent. Template. Reaction is not automated and takes quite a while for the staff at current to build your templates

In regards to instructions on new features, someone will be in touch shortly to find out whether you're referring to the update messages we send out, or our guides. If it's our guides, we're currently updating these throughout the system. The Discussion template feature is going to be released very shortly. Although we send automated email reminders regarding invoices, we are also looking at the option for customers to reactivate their own system if this cancels due to, for example expiring cards. Lastly, we are also working on the timescale of our free document layout customisation service by putting better processes in place and growing the team so that we can look to increase our turn around time but still ensure the customised layouts we complete are to good standard. However, in busy periods, the turn around time may increase but we try to set expectations upon receiving the first request. Thanks

I dry ran 2 other programs. I didn't dry run RMS for very long as it was so visual. If you don't understand something the staff at RMS will ease the pain. If you have staff who hate change then this is the one of the best solutions as it keeps them away from the accounting hassles as well. XERO plugin works well for accountancy purposes only. XERO doesn't do subtotals, and they don't care, so you won't see any of that come across or the descriptions from RMS. Just send all invoices from RMS and statements from XERO and it soon looks like one program.

Pros

You can see the week or month at a glance. Posting to XERO is painless.

Cons

I would like see the sales pipeline for each month available so you can see confirmed orders at a glance for the month

The fact it makes us more efficient in the warehouse and the prepping and shipping of new work. The system also allows you to see not only your equipment but your staff and vehicles whereabouts too this enables us to plan efficiently for future work

No internet no system this can cause an issue of working on the cloud however touch wood it hasn't happened yet :-)

### "Can't live without it"

We were looking for software that had great off the shelve functionality that could also allow us to customize in the future if needed. This was 6 months ago, now not only do we have the system to where we want it, being so easy to use we have customized it to automate a whole manor of previous manual tasks such as automated run sheets, bespoke proposals, power consumption calculations, costing automation. Not only this but the wish list system is a great idea and we can see what ideas are in the pipeline for development and progress on ideas that have had the green light. Updates to the system are frequent meaning that functionality is always improving. Love it.... Finally, customer service is impeccable. I have been taught so much but the RMS guys through the web chat. I have pretty much learnt the basis of liquid syntax thanks to them. Response time is always amazing.

Pros

User friendly, clean look and approach.

Cons

Wish the ideas that have green light on the wish list or planned would get released quicker as many are important functionalities.

Pros

We really like the online access and the ability to keep all information relating to jobs with the job for all staff to access. It's great for information access for meetings or the jobs themselves. It's great fro scheduling our team and also keeping track of equipment in multiple locations. All in all it's been a good asset since we moved from our previous software.

Cons

There are some limitations with formatting of the emails and also some limitations with reporting. This doesn't outweigh the benefits by any stretch though.

I moved my small rental business to current from a much older legacy platform that required me to maintain a local server. Cloud access was not an option. Having moved to current, I can now maintain my assets much better, and with the new API I have been able to create custom tools to further improve my workflow.

Pros

Flexibility, constant updating and improvements.

Cons

Lacking a couple of core feature sets (overall job pricing, test and tag) that most other platforms support.

Pros

Current allows us to work from one central point no matter wether we are on site or in the warehouse. It allows us to plan the use of our resources better and the acquisition of external sources in a cost effective and timely manner. The CRM means that project managers can easily transfer parts or or entire projects to better suit work patterns or account for staff illness. Mistakes are easy to spot.

Cons

We're still getting to grips with picking and pricing non standard items, but we'll get there. The organisations import is simpler, but so far removed from the export that our current software will do, that I'm having to go through our current database one entry at a time in order to import it... But that says more about me and my way of working. We could just add new organisations, venues and contacts as we go.

### "Worth every penny"

Working with current has greatly improved our workflow, eliminated all spreadsheets creating a tool our staff is connected too and up to date on every instance.

Pros

1\. Its an online software where I don't need to worry about updates and I have access from any machine: phone tablet or desktop 2. The support is Awesome! Always available and ready to help and personal, I know the staff and they remember me. Its obvious that the tech support are very knowledgeable and part of a small team not outsourced!

Cons

We work in Hebrew, (right to left) I would be nice if there was more flexibility for right to left languages like Hebrew ( or Arabic) That being said I was able to set up all the documents I need for my customers in Hebrew, so dealing with an English interface is not a problem.

The team at Current have always been very helpful - the cloud based platform has been really easy to use for all members of the team to use. We use Current for both hire and sales, it's been great to see the features develop and is really encouraging to see the updates released regularly with functions that are really useful. We've also just integrated with Xero so are hoping to continue the easy-to-use systems of work that Current has given us.

Pros

As a relatively new user, I have found current easy to understand with plenty of help and information available on my journey to fully understand the system.

Cons

No dislikes found yet. Seems like a solid product and is popular among more experienced users in the company

If your running a hire business or event production business I would certainly recommend Current RMS... Its a colourful well laid out cloud software you can easily access from your own desktop through a standard web browser or in costa coffee on any other device. You can quickly manage equipment, pull of equipment preparation lists, assign staff to jobs, send invoices to clients and prepare quotations. There is no complex setting up of servers and the support from Current RMS is superb. There are constantly adding free updates as suggested and voted by users. Highly recommended.
