### "Diving in to a new partnership!"

We've been quite pleased to date with all of our interactions and when problems or deadlines have moved - the EA team has worked with us to ensure we meed our organizational goals.

Pros

Our organization had been with a Blackbaud product for many years and were challenged in ease of use and functionality. We were excited to find all of the assets as part of EveryAction that would allow us to engage with our donors, advocates, pet passionate people and pet parents in a very different way. As of now - we are smack in the middle of our data conversion. It is not without some pain points but that is absolutely expected in any conversion. But, I've been impressed with the quality of customer service, availability and commitment of the EA team to getting it right. As of now - I'd absolutely suggest exploring their tools and their team! We've been most happy!

Cons

We are not deep into usage to be able to honestly answer this questions. We do know we one of the negatives in the selection process was the inability to embed video in outbound emails. But we understand many clients are requesting this option and are working hard to roll out that tool soon!

Overall, my experience with Bonterra Development + Digital's tool EveryAction has been overwhelmingly positive.

Pros

I've been using EveryAction for 9 years while at various non-profit organizations. I really like how easy to use the tools are, including mobile messaging, online actions, and targeted email. It's been great for our digital organizing program.

Cons

I feel the de-duplication tool could be made stronger

Overall, the program is not bad, but it is certainly not great. I do think that the updated help center has been informative, and I can see that the EA team is working hard to optimize the systems regularly. I just think that the system is not as user friendly as it could be, and it is hard to find a handy step-by-step guide for getting the most out of your account.

Pros

The thing I like most about EA is that I can see both payments and client relationships as well as use for a email campaign manager.

Cons

The site is not user-friendly in the ways that make sense. For example, there are many detailed options of unique things I can do but none of them are what would help me on a regular basis. For example, I cannot organize photos in targeted email. Most frustrating though, I cannot "Group by" and "Edit Columns" whenever pulling a contribution report. This is so frustrating and makes me have to do extra steps each time I pull a report.

### "A Must Have Platform"

Overall it is an excellent and essential functional tool that our organization could not operate without on a daily basis. It provides numerous options and we have integrated it into every piece of our membership management and listserv outreach.

Pros

It is a very well setup platform for internal and external use when it comes to recruitment, membership management, event building, phone banking, and the email outbox scheduled and response systems.

Cons

Occasionally some of the more nuanced features do not work. For example the social media integration function does not work at all. Likewise there can be some nuance that gets tricky when uploading information from social media back into the database.

EveryAction was a superior product, with a better user interface, as well as direct integration into our preferred platforms: Civis, VAN, and Google Suite. This couple with the support available from EA was essential in making it the only choice.

### "Poor support services"

Poor customer support. Tried to escalate questions and no one responds.

Pros

It has a few more features than our last platform.

Cons

Bonterra purchased EveryAction. The minute our integration was done and we were operating on EveryAction from the old software support stopped. 60 days later we still have a few specific large issues and cannot get anyone who knows anything on the phone. We are searching for a new platform.

Pros

The functionality/ features offered are really helpful and extremely versatile - we use EveryAction as our volunteer management base as well as our donor CRM.

Cons

Be sure to dedicate the organizational/company time and capacity needed to customize it for your needs and to align across your teams about how to properly use the systems and get practiced with them. That is the biggest pitfall we've had as an org.

Overall, EveryAction is a good product. My only complaint is around customer service and the availability/reachability of tech support. If those two functions could be improved, EA would be golden!

Pros

is effective, affordable, and provides a lot of value for the price point. It has nearly all the functionality a development shop would need.

Cons

It is sometimes hard to get responsive and timely service from the help desk. However, once I'm able to get the help desk's attention or a paid 4-hour session, the quality of the service is wonderful. I would like better client services/sales rep interactions. My assigned rep is not very responsive or knowledgeable about the product. I recently bought some additional services and it took four weeks to get them scheduled.

Easy to use. Web-based - Not hard to integrate The onboarding/donor transfer team took care of most of the trouble for switching

Cons

This is a tech-heavy CRM compared to it's competitors. There is a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it there is no desire to go back to older software.

### "Product is limited and customer service is the worst"

Over the past two years, we have helped on partner migrate to EA and two partners leave the EA platform. The functionality of the system is limiting, to say the least. In doing so, we engaged with customer service for a variety of reasons. In the case of onboarding a new client, it was mostly crickets, our questions often went ignored or it was a "whatever" kind of answer. Then just recently we helped a partner migrate from EA to Salesforce because EA was never going to be able to provide the layers and levels of functionality that this customer needed. Our experience was TERRIBLE!! The EA team held the org's data hostage, prolonged the process of migration, and made the customer pay for extra months that they didn't need because of EA's delay. Their responses to our questions were ambiguous, unhelpful and mostly petty. If I could, I would blast how horrible EA is to everyone I know. I promise, as a consultant and a long-time nonprofit professional, I will NEVER recommend this product or this team to any of my clients or colleagues and if I run across people who are on EA, I will do my best to get those orgs to leave EA as soon as possible.

Pros

There was nothing that I liked about the software.

Cons

\- Reporting is limited - "Lists" are difficult to query and use - Mass editing is impossible - No forward-thinking functions like actions or reminders - Record pages aren't laid out in any usable fashion - "Help Articles" don't help at all - Editing individual data is difficult - Account model is limited = orgs vs. people vs. businesses - Campaign and event hierarchy and construct is confusing

Overall it's been a better tool compared to past systems used.

Pros

The integration of multiple components, fundraising, volunteer management, communications, advocacy, etc., make it simple to get a snapshot of each member in one location.

Cons

While the system is highly customizable this too can become stressful and burdensome. Online help tools are good but not the best solution when trying to maximizing usage. The system has its limitations like any other and could be more user friendly. The initial Onboarding should include more extensive training and not just at the beginning.

We rely on a variety of different software to manage different components of our fundraising drives. Suited for both online giving, live event donations, and recurring giving management, I am glad to say that EveryAction provides a well rounded solution that suit a wide variety of fundraising needs

Pros

Everyaction provides a wide ranging assortment of complementary services that allow for effective management of fundraising campaigns. The volunteer and logistics management features were ones I certainly did not expect. With these, we are able to manage all elements of our live fundraising events without needing to use any other software to coordinate those tasks. This makes planning very effective and highly streamlined.

Cons

With all these great and sophisticated features, it can be a bit overwhelming during first time use. The learning curve is therefore a bit steep before you get adequately comfortable, but then it pays off at the end with great campaign performance.

### "Look elsewhere"

OMG-where do I begin? I inherited this system that was implemented right before I started. It was clear to me early on that the implementation team gave NO GUIDANCE to our side. Hence, it is a year later, and I am STILL cleaning up duplicate gifts, etc. In addition, their customer service is nonexistent. When I have submitted help tickets, I am usually responded to within 2-3 weeks. I have advised my organization not to renew, but our \[sensitive content hidden\] worries we will look bad to others if we jump ship in less than a year. Speaking of renewing, our contract expired on March 16th. I still have yet to be contacted by anyone for a renewal. I've even had to ask them for it. Twice. Today is March 26th. Lastly, they charged us $300 for text functionality that didn't go live until 6 months into the contract. And when I asked for a refund, crickets. The only person I hear from regularly is accounts payable. We've had 3 or 4 account managers in less than a year. Clearly, something is going on there. At this point, an Excel spreadsheet would be preferable. Ugh.

Pros

Our marketing department loves it. But they are not using it like I am for fundraising.

Cons

Terrible customer service, terrible onboarding process, and questionable billing practices.

### "Good tool for sending targeted emails "

Pros

The software works in partnership with other platforms like zoom and mobilize which makes setting up events and publicizing them seamless. We use Bonterra Dev for mass emails with weekly calls to action for our membership. The emails look professional and allow us to add photos and other content when communicating with our groups. We can also create specific lists to focus communications when emailing from the database.

Cons

The text generated portion of targeted emails is very clumsy and requires a lot of time and effort since the formatting puts one word on a line and runs down the page. I have to delete, cut and paste a lot to format it well. The emails won’t send with tracking links but the software doesn’t identify which link is the culprit. I have to manually check every link to find the one preventing the email from sending. Would love for the software to take me to the link that needs editing.

### "Easy, "glitch free" CRM with lots of features"

I was dropped into this system with no training, only having used other CRMs before, and found it overall intuitive to learn and blissfully glitch free - that is, it does what it is supposed to do, and even though it is missing some features I would like or we have to pay more than we want for certain features, I'm very grateful for such an overall reliable and easy to use system.

Pros

Having worked with many different CRMs, I appreciate how reliable EveryAction has been in terms of designing and sending emails to our base and in terms of tracking fundraising.

Cons

They use alternative descriptions of common industry terms and it complicates learning the system at first. There are also certain features like "discount codes" that seem standard on other systems that are missing though the core capabilities are strong.

### "Raise more revenue in no time with EveryAction "

Overall, EveryAction is a means to and end. The tool raises revenue to sustain democratic causes and political campaigns through Election Day and beyond. You can even group audiences based on certain characteristics, such as gender, age, household income, and party affiliation, volunteer status, and more. The administrator has complete control over the messaging and branding on the back-end, so it can be as basic or complex as you want.

Pros

I like that EveryAction allows our organization to recruit volunteers, mobilize members during key moments, and cultivate relationships with small-dollar donors in order to increase social awareness, engagement, and website traffic for liberal and progressive issues on behalf of democratic clients. I especially like that events are simply to manage in the CRM platform and campaign metrics are easy to understand for reporting purposes.

Cons

This is a technical issue, but for some reason, it is more difficult to embed EveryAction links into the body of an email, digital or social media ad soliciting revenue for a political campaign or cause compared to other software.

### "More time & money needed supplementing EveryAction than what it's worth"

We've had to buy 3rd party software for each of these to supplement EA. We use google analytics, BLINK, Peak Metrics, and have someone contracted to keep track of emails because of how lacking the available reports and warehouse data is. I want to see what list I sent an email to and who sent the email and what campaign it was for.

Creating lists. Managing users and user profiles. Flexibility with tags.

Cons

Online actions. Email performance reports. Spreadsheet like views to edit info. So! Many! Duplicates! Bulk upload matching- selecting what to match on.

The events and social media match tools have never quite lived up to their promise. Integration -- with 3 months of paid support -- was okay, but not great (but that was 2 years ago for us, so can't speak as much to present day).

### "EveryAction - powerful, and can be difficult to use"

As an integrated solution for organizing, fundraising, and outreach, it's really hard to beat EveryAction. I have not used the other products. I am in accounting, so mainly use the donation tools for recognizing and managing income. I have done some troubleshooting with the wider team, however, and would use EveryAction again if i moved to a different organization.

Pros

EveryAction is a large and complex database system that can be highly customized. As flexible as it is, it can be difficult to know which parameters affect which queries. EveryAction is the gold standard, and it's great when there is already a power user on the team. Without an EveryAction power user on the team, some amount of skilling up is necessary.

Cons

It's a complex database and as mentioned in "pros" it can be difficult to know which parameters affect which fields. There is a lot of help documentation--but that too can be a con, getting to the correct article can be difficult. EveryAction help is very good--the help team did some one:one trainings for our team and they were fantastic.
