### "Clean UI and solid for scale, but pricey and not great support"

March 3, 2026

4.0

Before using Lever, we were relying on spreadsheets and a mix of disconnected tools to track candidates, which created a lot of noise and manual work. Lever solved the core problem of centralizing candidate data and hiring activity in 1 place, which immediately reduced coordination overhead. Having a single system made collaboration between recruiters and hiring managers much smoother, w/o constant back-and-forth or status updates. The built-in automations, particularly around follow-ups and routine tasks, removed a significant amount of admin work from the recruiting process. As a result, the team is more organized, spends less time managing processes, and more time on high-value work like candidate conversations and decision-making.

Pros

We use Lever as our ATS in a fast-moving, scaling environment where speed of setup and adoption were important. One of its biggest strengths is how clean and intuitive the interface is. Onboarding time was minimal, which mattered bc we needed to move quickly, and the initial setup didn’t require much external support. Lever became a core ops tool for us and is used daily. The customizable workflows and automations are particularly helpful when dealing with higher hiring volume, as they reduce manual coordination and help keep processes consistent across roles and teams. The LI integration works smoothly in practice, and the in-app support chat is useful for resolving small, tactical questions w/o slowing the team down. Overall, it provides enough structure and visibility to keep hiring on track without adding unnecessary complexity.

Cons

Customer support feels more reactive than proactive in our experience. Outside of renewal cycles, there is limited ongoing engagement, which makes the relationship feel transactional rather than advisory. Pricing can also be a constraint for smaller or earlier-stage teams. While the core product is strong, some advanced capabilities, particularly around reporting, come at an additional cost that may not be accessible to all teams, like ours. Finally, the latest analytics layout is difficult to use in practice. Getting to the data needed for day-to-day decision-making isn't always intuitive, and reporting requires more effort than expected unless you invest in higher-tier options.

### "Lever, easy to use, easy to collaborate"

November 13, 2025

5.0

Lever provided our team with a great degree of communication, whether that was internally or externally, which played a crucial role in our recruitment processes.

Pros

Lever was very compatible with our teams outside of HR and recruiting, hiring managers were easy to collaborate with through Lever's features and interface. Overall, Lever was easy to use, even for those who were not trained on the platform.

Cons

Lever comes with some quirks with implementation, and there are certain features like filtering that I would like to see when considering the value for what you pay.

### "Lever Should Integrate with HRIS systems Better"

May 8, 2025

3.0

It is okay. I can review the feedback notes, send rejection emails from the system. I like that it integrates with Recruitbot which helps with scraping information from the web on candidates.

Pros

I like that is tit serves a repository of information and allows for you to easily archive your candidates

Cons

I do not like that it is a standalone and does not integrate with Paycor or Paycom. This causes duplicity with entries. I also do not like that you cannot include additional documents such as health benefits information along with the offer letters. It only allows the offer to go out

### "Lever for job postings"

February 21, 2026

4.0

My company uses Lever to post open job positions for internal and external applicants and for applications.

Pros

It's quite simple to use and the interface is very straightforward. There are filters that you can use to filter the job postings by location, department, work type, etc. The application form is easy to pre-fill by uploading a CV. We also use it for our internal referral program.

Cons

The interface is too simple and a bit bland. I would add more design on the page. Otherwise, it has all the main functionality.

It’s okay- looking back I would have just spent the extra money for greenhouse. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

### "Lever Rocks"

June 6, 2025

Support staff has been great, lightweight ATS that covers everything you want 1) Candidate and Job management, sourcing, integration with email/calendar, and sequencing emails

Pros

Ease of use, integrates well with scheduling/calendaring, candidate management, job posting integration to the site.

Cons

Reporting/Dashboards are trickier to learn. Still not quite there. The reporting functionality might be a bit too overdone. I'd think of ways to simplify it.

### "Laminar's Implementation journey with Lever (a game-changer!)"

August 12, 2024

5.0

Lever has been a fantastic addition to our team, revolutionizing the way we manage our recruitment process. Its user-friendly interface and intuitive design have made our daily tasks significantly easier. The dedicated customer support and implementation team have been invaluable in ensuring a smooth transition. We've particularly appreciated Lever's ability to streamline our workflow. Posting jobs across multiple platforms with a single click has saved us countless hours. The platform's comprehensive candidate management tools have enhanced our ability to track candidates efficiently, minimizing the risk of losing top talent. Lever's robust sourcing capabilities have been instrumental in building a strong talent pipeline. The analytics and reporting features provide us with invaluable insights, enabling data-driven decisions to optimize our recruitment strategy. Finally, Lever's seamless integration with our existing systems has significantly reduced manual work and increased efficiency.

Pros

Lever has been a game-changer for us. It's incredibly user-friendly and intuitive, making our daily tasks a breeze. The customer support and implementation team have been fantastic (especially Tom), guiding us through every step. We love how streamlined and efficient it's made our recruitment workflows. Plus, the analytics and reporting tools are top-notch, giving us valuable insights. It's clear that Lever was designed with the future of recruitment in mind.

Cons

My experience is from the interviewer perspective. the app does little more then display a resume and allow for feed back notes.

Pros

Lever is pretty straightforward to use. Its function is to display the resume of candidates for a job offer

Cons

The program in our usecase does very little from my view point. It would be easier if there was one application that would just do what the 10 individual ones do in the hiring process.

### "Lever ATS Review"

September 20, 2024

4.0

Overall, I have had a good experience with Lever, however, it leaves a lot to be desired compared to the other more modern Applicant Tracking Systems out there.

Pros

I like Lever because of its ease of use. It's also great for bulk candidate management, especially for those who handle volume roles. It also has integration with a lot of job boards which leads to a good flow of applicants.

Cons

The reporting module is not the greatest, we have had to integrate it with another app for reports. It also lacks a lot of automation, which can be a downside for busy recruiters.

Pros

The interview scheduling capabilities. Being able to reach out to multiple candidates for availability and schedule them seamlessly.

### "A Game-Changer for Hiring!"

March 11, 2024

5.0

Using Lever has been transformative for our team. It's not just a tool, but a comprehensive solution that has revolutionized our hiring process. From the moment we started using it, we saw a significant improvement in our efficiency. The features are easy to use and cover all of our needs, even addressing needs we didn't know we had! While there's always room for improvement, Lever has truly exceeded our expectations and made a positive impact on our talent team's day-to-day operations.

Pros

Lever has been a game-changer for us! It’s like a one-stop-shop for all our hiring needs. From job descriptions to candidate data, everything is just a click away. And the best part? It’s got features we didn’t even know we needed until we had them!

Cons

Well, no system is perfect. If I had to pick, I’d say Lever could do a bit more when it comes to user access customization. It would be super helpful if we could create access profiles for different teams. But who knows, maybe that’s in the cards for a future update!

We picked Lever over the other options because it scored the highest in our rating system. We looked at a bunch of features, like resume parsing, job posting management, email templates, and more. Lever was top-notch in all these areas. It was a close race though - two other tools were just a few points behind! But what really made Lever stand out was how fast we could talk about pricing and get started. So, in the end, Lever was the clear winner for us.

It’s got everything we were missing and more. So yeah, compared to HiringThing, Lever is just plain amazing!

### "Data driven and dedicated "

February 28, 2018

4.0

Pros

We have used Lever for over 2 years, rolled out in countries across and globe and trained hundreds of hiring managers to use the system for feedback and reviewing applications. We initially chose Lever for its data and analytics, which have allowed us to automate reports and KPIs for teams in all our markets. The system is user friendly, and tools like Lever Nurture and Recommendations can help recruitment teams to find and attract more talent. Perhaps the best thing about choosing Lever is the team behind it. The system itself has rolled out many new features (requisitions, approval flows, restricting access to view sensitive information) after carefully considering feedback and suggestions, which are critical for scaling and management for large orgs. The support team is incredibly responsive to any issue and the product team is open to feedback and as transparent as possible about upcoming changes. The customer success team really goes above and beyond to understand and work through client concerns and helps to find innovative solutions to most issues. If you choose Lever and are lucky enough to work with rep - you've struck gold. I don't think I've worked with someone more focused on client satisfaction, able to make tough discussions enjoyable, and who really advocates for his clients.

Cons

While Lever is growing rapidly and adopting more large global clients, there still seems to be a dominance of focus on US tech startups - for example in the Partner Integrations or in offer templates (multiple options for equity and vesting options) but complex package structures can require significant customisations, which can require additional work for enterprise clients. The biggest hurdle to adopting Lever as a global enterprise solution has been concerns around data privacy of candidates and employees as it stores all data only on servers in the US. From a security standpoint, this is worrying, has made it harder to get buy in to roll out in other markets, and delayed several implementations. If you want to consider candidates outside the US, particularly in Europe and Emerging markets, it means significantly more time and checks with Legal, Compliance, and Security departments. There is also the fair concern that non US candidates may be discouraged from sharing their data if wary of surveillance and privacy rights - which are major concerns and considerations in other markets. Investing in data centres in locations that focus on protecting data privacy would make it easier (and safer) to roll out and use as a true enterprise tool.

### "Great tool to support with hiring in a scale-up phase"

July 25, 2021

5.0

My company is going through an exciting scale-up stage and to support the company with hiring efforts we decided to modernize our recruitment stack. Implementing Lever was very easy across the whole organisation - the implementation specialist - \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] - offered top-notch support during the whole implementation journey and the migration of candidate data from our previous ATS went seamless. Since adoption, the hiring team saved lots of time in sourcing and gathering the interview feedbacks, as it allowed us to automate several critical tasks.

Pros

Lever has all of the features we were looking for - an easy to set up careers page, configurable roles and permissions, feedback forms, communication templates, customizable steps in the interview process, scheduling, referrals, internal applications management and a very powerful customizable analytics dashboard. And above all, it has a game-changing Nurture feature that Lever is the only ATS I'm aware of offers that allow the team to engage candidates at scale through personalized email campaigns.

Cons

Not a big issue, however worth mentioning: i)my previous ATS had a mobile app I used on a daily basis - Lever doesn't have one ii) there's no local support in Europe which leads to either asynchronous communication per email or meetings that can take place late afternoon only. iii) impossible to upload a picture (of the hiring team for example) to the job ad, something that was possible with my previous ATS

### "Game-changing ATS for either Agency or Corporate Recruitment"

June 7, 2019

4.0

I've been using Lever for nearly 11 months at two different companies - initially as a super-user, and most recently had the pleasure of implementing it from scratch at the latest organization I'm consulting to. While the full version of the software mostly works while browsing using tablets, support has indicated that they only support Windows or Mac platforms. I have used most features at ease on iOS on an iPad Pro 10", and 12.9" - but certain key features fail, and responsiveness lags despite it being about 80% workable. The sales process was consistently professional and personable. At no point did I ever feel pressure from anyone in the sales organization to make a quick decision on the product as it suited their month or quarter end targets - which spoke to their interest in securing long-term clients. The thoroughness in the implementation process, train-the-trainer, and direct support in hiring manager training further assisted greatly in increasing user adoption. This wasn't just a one-off sale for them, but a long-term partnership - and am grateful to have been able to work with such a superb ATS software vendor from the selection process through post-implementation. I have and will continue to recommend them unreservedly in the future.

Pros

Intuitive workflows whether an expert or notice on the system. User adoption is high due to terrific UI/UX. Responsive technical support. Implementation leads that really care about the success of the implementation. Feature development and road-mapping that is responsive to end-users.

Cons

Lack of calendar synchronization and room availability support for enterprise users not fully on G-Suite or Office 365. Lack of SMS integration. Lack of consistent bug resolution follow-through. Lack of full support for non-desktop/laptop browsers, ie: Chrome on iOS on a 10" or 12.9" iPad Pro.

Reason for choosing Lever

Lever was the most collaborative when it came to finding a long-term solution that worked for the organization, and not for their sales pipeline and end-of-month or end-of-quarter targets. The fact that they are on the West Coast and offer support hours that align with our business was also a big win. The company's intuitive design in UI/UX, 3rd party integrations, and overall ease-of-use put them well ahead of the competition. I was further pleased to see the release of new feature sets in very short periods of time.
