Billing is pretty straightforward for our team size, too, no surprise line items to deal with. For a dev team already juggling deploys, support rotations, and timezone coverage across different offices, Sling basically cut the scheduling overhead to nothing. Pros We got the on-call rotation for support engineers set up in less than an hour. Shift swaps aren't a mess in Slack anymore, and those overlap alerts actually caught a gap right before a release weekend. Setting user access by team meant junior devs couldn't accidentally mess with senior schedules, which is great. Plus, exporting time tracking directly into payroll saved our team lead a few hours every single sprint. Cons Mobile notifications get kind of laggy when someone swaps a shift at the last minute, so I still make sure to double-check in the browser before our standup. I really wish the API would let me pull schedule data straight into our internal dashboard instead of having to export CSVs manually every single week. I wish I would have been using it for both much earlier. Still a great value for the resources it provides. I encourage all medical offices to utilize it to stream line communication between management and staff. Pros I have multiple work locations, and what I love most about Sling is that it allows all three of these locations to operate under one profile rathe than having 3 separate accounts. The platform is easy to learn, and very user friendly. I doe like that it allows for scheduling, as well as a time clock function: much easier to have it all under one app for managing my team. Cons I don't like how it cost more the more the more users you have on the platform. It used to not be that way. We would still be using sling today if not for those issues Pros Easy to setup and use. Employees also like ease of use and overall simplicity. Scheduling was great, especially the labor cost percentage based on projected sales. Cons I didn’t dislike anything feature wise, but rather had issues with reliability for notifications coming through to mobile devices or the app not loading chat messages. I like the ability to filter through employees, groups, locations, etc. It's also easy to look at past schedules. Cons It's getting more expensive as our team grows, as it's priced per employee. RE Reviewer Language Instructor Used the software for: 3-5 years ### "Sling is used to assist in co-ordinating our small teaching team." 4.0 May 26, 2026 Sling is adequate for our small language centre to use for some basic scheduling. It's much better than our old way of keeping track of it in an Excel spreadsheet. Overall, the price is good for the service we receive, but I wish we had more education specific features such as knowing which instructor was teaching the language level we were at. Pros The swap shifts save literally hours of my life. If teachers want to swap classes, they do so themselves within the app. Also, it's nice to see who's available in case I need to call someone up to fill in for my teacher. I can use the mobile app to view the schedule between lessons without having to get to my desk. Cons Occasionally, notifications are delayed which led to confusion when one of my colleagues' classes was rescheduled. Syncing of calendar does not always work well with our Google Calendar. We switched over from a different scheduling program, and there was no learning curve. The integration with Toast is ultimately why we chose it. Pros It's very easy to use. Syncs back and forth with Toast with sales and time punches used in toast. The data sync helps with scheduling to projected budgets. Employees like the app platform. Looks clean and is streamlined. Cons There really isn't anything that I dislike about it. The only thing I find annoying is that employees are sorted by first name only--and I can't adjust to sort by last name. I use it daily to check my shifts and clock in. It’s very user-friendly, and I didn't really need a "tutorial" to figure out how to use it. It’s a solid 4-star app—it does exactly what it needs to do for scheduling, though a smoother mobile experience would make it perfect. Pros I love that I get instant alerts when a new schedule is posted or if a shift changes, so I never have to guess when I'm working. It's really easy to put a shift up for grabs or trade with a coworker without having to text everyone individually. Having the schedule, my time clock, and team messages all in one app is much better than using multiple platforms. Cons The app can sometimes be a bit slow to load or "cramped" on a smaller screen compared to the desktop version. Occasionally, there’s a slight delay in notifications or syncing when my manager makes a last-minute change. On the mobile app, it can sometimes be hard to see the "big picture" of the whole team's schedule for the week compared to looking at it on a computer.
