And knowing which person has what asset is a great feeling, although establishing those fields for the first time was incredibly painful. Pros I'm impressed that Asset Panda didn't fail on us while uploading all of our inventory (that made me happy). Also I've had few crashes with this app as well. While scanning QR tags may be somewhat an issue as the tag can use my phone's built-in camera. That being said I feel like I just care about tracking these appliance. Cons Everytime you go down to the basement storage, we experience connection issues. We have to take numerous photos of the same item of equipment (this drives me nuts), and if a technician drops the tag and dirties it, then the camera will no longer read it, and therefore the passive GPS will never update and you're essentially blind. We no longer lose the expensive laptops that go out on the field which is a huge relief. I can now see at a glance which employees have possession of the projectors as opposed to having to send 10 e-mails to non-responsive individuals. It tracks all maintenance records in one place; therefore the trucks will not break down on the side of the road during a job. Pros The dashboard is fairly well organized. I do not get headaches trying to find the checkout button and I am also impressed that the custom fields function with our unique lab equipment (without crashing). The asset panda software manages the multiple accounts for our company's various branches across three states. Good enough. I like the fact that the mobile app will scan the barcodes (even when I am in a rush) and the warehouse lighting is flickering. I am happy that the api did not take down the entire server when we added it. Cons The search bar in asset panda is almost completely useless unless you know exactly what the name of the cable is that you are searching for and will not provide related searches. My largest complaint is that previous reservations stay in the system indefinitely and you have to individually select delete each time which is an absolute nightmare. Pros Once setup it is very easy to use and way less paper work envloved. Cons In our particular case we have users set to only have the Assets tab, that means they don't even have the settings page as users use SSO and it is not needed. The biggest issue is that it brings users to a total asset count page that is irrelevant and confuses the user when logging in and trying to sign for assets. All they need to do is click the "Asset" tab at the top but with it being the only tab they don't think its a button. I just wish there was a global home page settings for user templates instead of having to go in and set users manually. Users come and go often so its no ideal for us to make that change to each new user. So in summary I would love to see a global home page option for users templates. Reason for choosing Asset Panda More features and we didn't need to buy any scanning hardware. We have used it for more than 2 years now not only for asset tracking, but for inventory management, and reservations. We have been unable to accumulate data and with Asset Panda's help it provided an affordable platform to begin transitioning to a more modernized and sophisticated way of management.
