I must tell you that the price you paid for this app is really worth it when you want to save millions for your company. Assets are really important to track as the simplest mismanagement can bring catastrophic disasters to a company. Finally, you do not need to be much smarter to operate this app because it is very much easy to use. Pros There are many good points to talk about this app. One of the significant benefits; I am enjoying using this app is the ability to get automated reports through Email for the given parameters. Also, those can be generated in PDF/CSV or in Excel; however, I personally like PDFs as they are very clear and precise. Trust me when an asset is checked out or transferred to a different user you can even ask the recipient to acknowledge it through an easy uploadable signature. This can be done on both computers or on mobile/tab. I recommend especially using this facility in mobile/tab to have the greatest experience. Also, allowing to upload pictures before issuing the Assets is another superb feature. This method helps to speed up identifying the assets without worry. There are many other good points to elaborate on this app but I will leave them you to enjoy! Cons I have noticed using this app on a phone is somewhat difficult. However, the web version is not a troublemaker. Asset reminder facility is something that needs to focus on by the owners but this can be avoided with automated report generation. The list can get really detailed (item, model number, status, etc.). It is easy to organize your assets (e.g., according to type, or date acquired) for you to keep track of it. Apart from the list, one can also add updated photos (or even videos) of your assets. I bet this is super useful for the Tech support teams. Doing an asset audit is only made easy via Group actions --- this is especially useful if you have a ton of assets tagged to you. Complete audit can be done with just a few clicks. We usually have a yearly audit (sometimes even a special audit out of season). Doing an asset report is easy as well, just a few clicks to generate and download asset reports for yourself, or even for the department. The other way around, i.e., Asset import is as easy as well. Coming from a different (home brewed asset mgt portal), migration into Asset Panda was done via a simple asset import. This is cloud-based and is supplemented by an accompanying mobile app (for easy update or upload of data/photos/etc). The barcode feature makes life super easy for the auditors. Cons The UX is very plain and the pages can sometimes load very slowly. The system was very easy to configure and importing existing data was quick and accurate. There have been some hiccups with issues that support resolved quickly. Pros Asset Panda is very easy to use but also very robust. Cons The previous system has an GUI frontend on top of an Access database. It was much easier to access all of the data for reports and queries. Some of the things in Panda, such as time stamps, are not fields that can be used in queries. Audit feature is really nice so the history of seeing how people screwed up what they did with an asset is right there. Nice repository for contract and warranty information. Cons Sometimes app barcode will scan successfully but item will show up as not in AP, but when you do a text search of the code you just scanned it will display. Software does not prevent people from entering information incorrectly or uniformly ("garbage in, garbage out"), but that is a personnel issue. As mentioned in the "Pros" piece, the software itself is remarkably easy to learn and use and takes little time if engaged with the process properly for moves/changes. Software does not seem to have a depreciation component for automatically calculating inventory values from year to year (helpful for finance divisions). Not sure what the calendar feature would be used for, but that's not so much a "con" as it is more of a Scooby Doo "RHUH?" question. December 22, 2017 5.0 Pros I love how fast everything loads. I love how easy it is to navigate that main page. It makes you feel in control of what you want to see. So user friendly. Easy to select as many assets as you want and either reallocate them from location, status, etc. Also easy checkout process. The customer service is also what sold me. The most friendly, honest and professional people. You will deal with 1 person who will walk you through setting up your trial period and will customize it to your needs in almost no time. Then you get to play around with it to make sure you are happy and gives you an opportunity to ask more questions over a few days or weeks. Then the implementation expert will take it to the next level and fully customize it for you and make sure you know exactly how to use all of the tools. I didn't think I would ever be excited about something like this, but it will deliver amazing results for a fair price. Cons I would like to have a way to select a date range on the calendar and tell it to run a filter to show what has an available status for those dates. Right now, if someone looks at a particular item and its status is "checked out" or "Request Confirmed" you have to click on the item to see the date range of when it is checked out. The import feature works very well and reporting is very intuitive. We still have a way to go with implementing some of the finer points of the software namely bar coding. We were also implementing a new EHR and Accounting software at the time which reduced some of the features we did not implement. Pros The ability to customize the fields and change them to fit your needs. It was a SaaS type solution and not terminal based on local servers. We also have accounting software, document management software, and Electronic Medical Record software and we have the least amount of issues with Asset Panda. Cons Support is mostly thru emails, but this is true of our EMR software as well, which is the primary software most of our employees use everyday. Therefore, what I dislike a little is more of an industry trend. The positive side of it is assistance is documented. Actually, we haven't had to use support that much. She even got us to use the new embedded groups feature which solved one of our needs for multiple treatment logs. The program is very flexible in terms of application. With a few tweaks, I think it would be a model program for other organizations to use for endangered species breeding and medical treatment management. For standard office and technology asset management, I think that it already fills all the requirements. Pros The amount of customization is very useful, especially for us, as we are using this software in a rather unorthodox manner to track chickens as assets and their medical problems and treatments as support tickets. The ability to update fields on the support ticket side that update fields on the asset side is very useful in our setup. Cons We would like to see more connection between the asset and support ticket fields. Our current weight field sits on the asset side. Since we have a weight change action on the asset side and the medical ticket side, we cannot see a complete list of the weight changes in one action report. It would be very useful for a sorting function on the changes tab, so we could see all the current weight changes whether they originated from an action on the asset side or an action on the medical ticket side. The major complaint from our vet and animal staff is speed of data input. They are moving from chicken to chicken very quickly during their rounds of weighing and treating up to 400 chickens twice a day, so they feel every slight delay in responsiveness. They have also expressed a need for sorting reports by fields residing on the asset when the report is based on the ticket or embedded group side. Pros Deployment was quick and easy with the service provided by Asset Panda. The solution is versatile and allows for a multitude of asset management scenarios. Easy to report on asset information and easy to setup new reports on the fly. The mobile app is a good alternative when on the move and also easy to use. The solution is cloud based and therefore can be accessed from anywhere with very little or no downtime, apart from scheduled maintenance. User permissions and roles can be customized to suit access requirements. There are integration options for other cloud apps and services, such as Zendesk. Cons The Device Data Agent installer could be improved, currently there is an MSI file that relies on an external ".reg" file which we found doesn't work well when not installing as a user with administrative rights. The reg file adds to HKCU and not HKLM so needs adding specifically for the user of the machine in order for the agent to communicate correctly. Also, while the mobile app is good, I found that sometimes the bar code scanning didn't always work as expected. For example, it would pick up a code that is on the edge of the camera view instead of the one being centered on). We have become quite busy, quite quickly and the team are always chasing us to see how we are going and asking us for the details as to how we need the build to change. Brilliant customer service and brilliant technical minds! Pros Our company has really benefited from selecting this software for our start up. Everything can be built to your needs and some of our needs have been a little difficult. But our Implementation specialist and our Customer Success Manager have been incredible. If you're reading this and are thinking about using Asset Panda, you really should. And on that note, you should REALLY ask for both of them to be the people that look after your account. There is some inside information for you. Cons We haven't really come across anything that has troubled us so far. Even being an Australian company and meeting with the team hasn't proven to be a problem, as we find a morning and a matching evening to have our discussions with the build team. She was very knowledgeable about the product and was easy to get along with and worked through all of our questions with us. Pros This product works well for our medium sized company. We just started using Asset Panda and so far have found it to be very user friendly. We are currently using it for internal equipment and find it easy to use and navigate. The configurations are relatively easy to use once you know where everything is. The customer service has been outstanding so far. The rep was great to work with. Cons The app seems to run a little slow and is sometimes a little more difficult to navigate through the different pages and assets. Pros what I like most about the software is the ticketing side. It allows us to create a database that allows my technicians to go in and see what other guys have done to resolve similar problems. Cons I think the thing I like least about asset panda would be the creation of reports. I would like to see charts that show percentage of what my guys are creating tickets for. Director of Technology and Innovation Education Management Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Great Inventory Tool" May 31, 2019 4.0 The onboarding process was excellent and customer support has been very responsive so far. Pretty positive experience with Asset Panda as a company. Pros We love this tool for our asset management. We are a school with a 1:1 chromebook program and keeping track of loaner equipment and repairs is a tall task. Asset Panda has helped us streamline the system and keep tabs on where everything is and what state it's in. We use the report tool features daily to track students who have loaned equipment due to repairs or forgetting their own devices. This has reduced our overall repair rates and decreased the number of devices lost due to theft and student negligence. The interface is clean and reasonably intuitive. We also use the Google sync and Device Management tools and both of those are working well for us. For inventory purposes, it's a very solid tool. Cons I wish some features were easier to do on the main screen. Since we have a high volume of daily loaners, it would be nice to check in and out equipment with one click from the main screen. We also tried the help desk module, but ended up going with Spiceworks instead. The help desk works as a way of tracking repair orders, but that functionality is also covered in the main inventory tool. We were looking for a help desk that would provide communication back and forth with our school stakeholders (staff and students). Also, I wish the Google Device Management tool had bidirectional syncing. As it stands that feature works very well; that is just more of a wish list feature. Information Technology Manager Higher Education Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Very Pleased" November 26, 2018 5.0 We needed an inventory system that was completely customizable, and allowed imports (as many as you wanted) to make updates. We needed to be able to make our own supporting tables. Asset panda had all of that, and much more. The mobile app is a special bonus that makes our job easier. Pros I like that Asset Panda lets me completely customize my inventory fields and supporting tables (groups). I also like the color coding, love the reporting generating interface, and the mobile app with bar code scanning capabilities. Cons There is not much to not like. I wish sometimes that there was a little more control over the layout of fields in the update/add page. For example when you add an image to the asset, it bumps down the fields on one side and everything winds up in a different column then usual and if you have a lot of fields it can be hard to find.
