Pros Definitely the cloud-based solution for tracking assets. We mainly use it to record assets and calculate depreciation so are not currently utilizing the full capabilities of the software (i.e. - bar code tracking). Cons It currently does not have the capability to use the half-year convention for depreciation. It's also not easy to duplicate a record - you can't just highlite it in the list view & copy/paste to a new asset; you have to enable replication in custom settings. We also track damages on assets and generate reports in order to keep up with what is damaged and where it is in the process if getting repaired. Cons The syncing ability does not allow for exclusion of specific OUs in our Google Admin console, so we have to create multiple syncs when only 2 should be necessary. Also the ability to only schedule 2 reoccurring syncs every day can be troublesome. Thanks to Google for stumbling upon Asset Panda. It was easy to import our csv file from years ago, and now since it in Asset panda, it is easier to update. This is extremely needed for our upcoming audit and future GDPR compliance. The best feature I like the most is the ability to create and scan barcodes. Stick 'em up in asset, scan when needed, and easy to identify and update the asset. What we have yet to explore is the use of RFID tags which from my initial readings can be used in Asset Panda. Looking forward to that! Another is the reporting feature, you can easily export and download reports based on categories, the maturity of assets or depreciation, age, etc. This is useful for budgetary purposes, letting us know which assets needs replacement or maintenance. Cons I don't have much to say here since Asset Panda has satisfied our simple inventory and reporting needs. Though, we have yet to figure out how to extend it to the entire company, connect to possible APIs and RFID tags. We tested a few different asset management systems to see what suited our needs and honestly asset panda was the only one that we found useful, all the others were confusing or difficult to set up, but asset panda handled the import of our existing assets (excel documents) perfectly. Pros The support we have received (especially during the initial set up) has been absolutely fantastic. Any questions or issues we had were answered and dealt with promptly and we were always given a satisfactory answer. We have had the system for over a year now and do not regret it. Cons Our only issue came at one time with the mobile app crashing when uploading photos, this only lasted for a few days however and was resolved with an update. We can set up actions that ask only for the relevant fields to what is happening. Having unlimited users means managers can run reports directly rather than requesting from users. Cons It felt like there was a bit of a high learning curve to set things up and get new users comfortable. The flexibility is a two edged sword, since tracking was new for us, we ended up making some design choices that we later reversed, but as long as you think through what you're trying to do it will give you the flexibility to make it happen. Pros We have only been a client for about six weeks, but so far our experience has been tremendous. The onboarding process has been great and they have been incredibly responsive to our questions and feedback. We are moving now from the implementation team to the support team but I feel confident that our experience will be the same. Cons I am a guy who likes to understand things to the detail. The implementation team has done a great job of building what we requested but I am not familiar enough with the tools to go in a tweak the setup. On the positive side, when I tried to do that, I think I messed some things up, but the implementation team went behind me to clean up my mess! August 1, 2018 5.0 Pros Easy to use. The web client has a clean appearance. The ability to create reports and customized actions is great. Cons Images in attachments do not have a button to easily be re-downloaded. Document names cannot be renamed after being uploaded. Very difficult to set up assets and actions that work on assets which are part of "kits" i.e multiple assets are contained/carried in one case or box. More documentation should be provided on how this is implemented, if at all. When giving view-only rights to a field, the field appears grey and the text is grey, it's very hard to read due to the lack of contrast. It would be good if actions could be automated to update fields. i.e. Check if 'next service due date' has already past and then update status field to: "requires servicing". Then assets can be filtered so they cannot be "checked out" if the status field is "requires servicing". Also, reports come through as a link back to asset panda. I would prefer if the report is also provided in the email body or having the pdf document attached. Asset Panda appealed to us because once set up we can book out, reserve and deploy a 'kit' and automatically log all the assets within that kit, saving time in not having to scan each individual item. We're also able to flag items for repair, calibration and maintenance easily so we know not to send back out an asset that's needs attention. Cons We wish the calendar function was easier to use for when reserving and booking assets out for a required date. That said, we are able to complete this requirement. This app will save you a lot of time and worry. Pros Lightweight cloud-based asset tracking platform. Fully functional for any sized company. Asset Panda is s simple app that we used for keeping an inventory of all our assets. We love the barcode feature which made deploying new devices and reading device info just by scanning easy. The reports are very useful and easy to generate. Most important for us is the alerts and notifications to know which items are due for maintenance or replacement via their useful life and depreciation computation. The users are also involved as they have access to the system to see and monitor the assets they have. Since we track a lot of assets, the default types and categories more or less suffice already. But Asset Panda also has a provision to create your own custom fields. Cons It's funny that we all hate the quick session timeouts. Well, this is not customizable, so perhaps Asset Panda can make it editable or at least listen to the request for a longer timeout counter. We sometimes have to juggle using the interface online and having to check the actual assets so it is a bit frustrating if we have to re-login every now and then. Boxes, names, products, records, reporting information, everything is changed easily by yourself - with extra help if needed (not so far) from the Asset Panda support team - means that you can tailor the product to your own needs quickly and easily without waiting weeks for 'one of the IT department to facilitate' which is what happened to us before elsewhere.
