With a diverse team of volunteers and stakeholders often spread across different locations and time zones, coordinating meetings used to be a challenge. Doodle has made it significantly easier to find suitable time slots for everyone, reducing the back-and-forth communication. This efficiency means we can spend more time focusing on our mission and less on administrative tasks Cons One aspect of Doodle that I found less favorable is its user interface when integrating with multiple calendars. Sometimes, it can be a bit unintuitive, and our less tech-savvy members occasionally struggle with it. Additionally, while Doodle offers many advanced features in its premium version, as a non-profit organization, we're always conscious of costs, and it would be great if some of those features were available in the free version to better support our cause. I tried the free version and it was a real surprise but a little disappointed because ads but otherwise it's really good. Pros Advantages: The software is free, ergonomic and functional Registration is not compulsory One can easily choose a meeting date that suits all participants. Possibility to see the answers of other participants Possibility to carry out polls and the poll can be exported in Excel or saved in PDF. Does not require online registration There is no limit to the number of participants to invite. Cons Its disadvantages: Creating the form is tedious and not easy for a beginner. Cannot attach a file. And there is too much advertising. Once I set up the survey, I can easily disseminate it to everyone via email or group text. Overall, I'm highly satisified with this tool! Pros Doodle is an online meeting scheduling tool that is fairly easy to use. The free version has all the necessary functionalities, including setting up polls, scheduling meetings, sharing with colleagues with a simple link, and getting email alerts about responses. Overall, the interface is simple to use and highly accessible. This is a great tool for academic institutions and small businesses. Cons I would love if the free option had more options to customize the background, fonts, etc. The mobile version is also a bit clunky to use as compared to the desktop version. There are not too many features of the product that make it confusing or hard to use. I have been on both sides of creating the poll and completing the poll and it has been a relatively easy software to use. Pros Doodle is very easy to use and can make scheduling a meeting time or event for a large group of individuals very efficient. It is a pretty self-explanatory tool and no training is required. You can also utilize a lot of the features with the free version. Cons There are some features of Doodle that could be improved, such as how events times/dates are scheduled. It is not very intuitive at first about how to select multiple days and times that individuals who complete the poll can choose from! Sometimes it takes some digging to find the feature you are looking for. Also, there are more beneficial features that are only offered through the paid subscription. It's removing the need to email a million times to only keep emailing because one person may not be available. It's removing the need to send a calendar invite to all joining, doodle will do it for you. Doodle is saving time and making scheduling efficient. It just makes sense. Pros The group scheduling is my overall favorite feature within doodle. I use this for work alot and due to the size of some of the client meetings its imperative that we make it easy and as seamless as possible. Doodle does that with ease, you can select the times that you are free and allow others to pick when you've got a good time that everyone agrees on you schedule and doodle does the rest for you. It is free and less expensive if one upgrades their plan. 2. Getting a common time for a group meeting is made easier without the back and forth emails and text. This is made possible by the doodle polls. 3. It is easy to learn how to use it. 4. Synching my google calendar has allowed me to manage my meetings from one place without jumping from one app to the next. Everything accessed on one page. 5. It Saves on time. The time one would have used on phone calls, emails and texts is saved and put to a better use. Cons 1\. A lot of advertisements when using the freemium version. Since professors are extremely busy people and don't really have time for a bunch of e-mails, Doodle software makes my and their lives so much easier. Pros Have you ever tried to get a bunch of science professors to meet in the same room at the same time for a few hours? It's like herding cats, but luckily there is Doodle. The best part about Doodle is that I don't have to e-mail people back and forth to try to coordinate an event from multiple perspectives. Doodle eliminates ambiguity and allows everyone to see everyone else's exact availability for multiple weeks at a time which saves time and effort. It is so interesting to me that meetings can be scheduled really without any words from any of the participants, and I think that is beautiful. Bonus points for not having to try to sound really smart in multiple e-mails to people who are way smarter than you. Cons The calendar syncing function seems like it could be a really good idea, but I have had some trouble syncing up all of my calendars in the past and I usually can't see any of my events on there. Pros Ease of use and simplicity make this a brilliant tool that anyone can use. The simplicity of setting up events as well as being able to remove them once they have completed. The tool is a true life saver when it comes to finding dates & times that work for everyone Cons The fact that I still struggle to connect my calendar to Doodle is a bit of a pain, it would save me some time if I could do that. Also, the time-zones are not displayed well enough in my opinion and it happened to me several time to have to redo the whole thing as I realised at the end that the time zone was wrong. However, the past few years, Doodle has really gone down hill. Part of this isn't their fault: Calendly and other scheduling tools gained popularity and were more convenient for people to use. Part of this is their fault: - Their redesign was a big step backwards - Their user interface is now worse and harder to use - The free version is virtually pointless With all of that said, if you do pay for Doodle then the product is a decent tool. Is it better than Calendly and other tools? It depends on your use. But, if you are looking to just use the free version, I would steer you in a different direction. Hopefully Doodle will fix their issues and get back to being an extremely useful tool. The thing I like the most is that it provides you with a link that can be easily copied and shared. Moreover, it allows you to propose numerous dates and times and the group can see the ones most preferred without much effort. I highly appreciate that Doodle allows you to sync Google Calendars and compare your availability with the proposed options. Cons I am a bit disappointed that it does not offer a way to add my own fonts and characters and customise my experience, making it more user friendly. Pros You don't need a lot of instruction to share with external guests when you invited them to use doodle. When someone is invited to join your poll and vote for one of the option, email that is sent by doodle is self explanatory, so you do not need to educate your guests on how to use the voting system. Cons Design of the poll could be more creative. Also, if you like to upgrade to be user of one of the featured versions, it could be bit pricey. Pros You can create any kind of poll (day/time for an event, what to order on the food delivery app for the whole office, what movie go to see at the theatre) and invite people by email or simply sharing a link. People can respond with a simple click, no need to be registered. Options are quite a lot also in the free plan.
