Overall, my experience with Reward Gateway has been positive. It’s a useful platform for earning and redeeming rewards, and once you get used to it, it’s quite simple to navigate. There are a few areas that could be improved, but it does what it’s meant to do.

Pros

I like how easy it is to use and how quickly you can access your rewards. The platform is straightforward, and I appreciate the variety of reward options available. It’s convenient and doesn’t take much time to understand.

Cons

Sometimes the payout process can take a bit longer than expected, and not all reward options are available all the time. It would be nice to have more consistency and faster processing.

Overall experience is great. The platform itself is very user friendly and straightforward. Easy to browse deals and rewards. I especially love the Easy Saver cards.

Pros

My favourite aspect is the colleague recognition tool. Being able to uplift your peers has definitely kept morale up. The platform also has a wide range of rewards and lots of opportunities for savings.

Cons

The customer service can be lacking sometimes. It would be more helpful to be responded to quicker with the process of getting in touch in general being more simplified than it currently is. However the customer service team is always friendly and helpful when they do get back to you.

In our company, we developed a goal and incentive program a few years ago to encourage our employees to be innovative, creative and productive. Reward Gateway is a recognition and rewards platform with features and functionality that allow us to efficiently manage and administer our program. It integrates well with Asana to synchronize employee data, project participation and achievements, automate workflows, and generate automatic recognition when goals are met.

Pros

There are several aspects of this tool that I like, it allows us to motivate our employees to develop a work culture that tends towards dynamism and productivity with clear and measurable goals and objectives. It allows our employees to choose from a variety of rewards, such as gift cards, days off, or store discounts. It allows us to monitor performance and motivation, measure the impact of the program on our employees, and make adjustments as needed.

Cons

The customization options offered are not very flexible and have significant limitations in adapting the platform to the needs of the company.

Cons

Sometimes adoption depends on communication inside company. If employees are not informed well, they may not use all benefits. Also some offers can depend on country or local market.

Pros

Reward Gateway sends you weekly emails with their top discounts and deals, you can accrue cashback that can be cashed out or applied towards gift cards, as well as associate recognition points that are easy to spend!

Cons

Rewards gateway can be a bit overwhelming, although well-organized there are pages of discounts and ways to spend earned points.

### "They stole my money, and don't respond to emails"

The vouchers I wanted didn't work. I wanted to try again after a short career break, but they just deleted my balance. So basically they stole my money - my employer paid it to them, but they just kept it. I tried to contact them by email, but they didn't even bother to reply.

Cons

I tried 2 vouchers: Uber voucher was just not working. Sainsbury's voucher needed some code which was posted (yes, POSTED in 2024), but I wasn't home, so I couldn't use it either.

I appreciated how easy it made recognising and rewarding colleagues. The platform offered a straightforward way to celebrate achievements and give people vouchers to spend at retailers of their choice. It was also easy to import colleague data and you’d get reminders for your colleagues birthdays or work anniversaries.

Cons

One downside of Reward Gateway was the occasional difficulty in navigating certain features, like setting up specific rewards or customisations, which could take more time than expected.

As a business they are very easy to work with. They are responsive to queries and issues, and their account management is proactive and helpful. Pricing feels fair for the value and quality of the service.

Pros

Reward gateway helps us bring all our reward and benefits information into one reward portal. Employees can find out bout all the benefits, including links to the relevant forms, terms and guides. They can also save from a huge selection of discounted sites, and earn cashback, which is very popular. The recognition tool is quick and easy enabling peer to peer recognition and monitored awarding of shopping vouchers for larger achievements. On top of that you get the total reward statement, which shows employees the value of all the rewards and benefits that they enjoy.

Cons

I think the format could do with updating. It's not bad but compared to some more whizzy sites it looks a bit static.

Visually appealing, simple to use for employees. Terrible from an admin user POV if integrating with an HRIS- no rules engine means we have to manually script all the rules into our CSV file before loading into Rewards Gateway. Not being able to "skip" levels or "send back" awards during the approval process is hugely limiting and creates a bad user experience on approvals.

Easy to use from an employee perspective

Cons

No rules engine for approval process: No way for the system to skip approvers if they've already approved earlier in the cycle (example, Manager may also be the budget owner or HRBP. End of approving twice for the same person). No rules engine for approval process: No way for system to recognize and skip a person approving as themselves. No rules engine for approval process: Cannot use management chain or any other rule for assigning approvers at different approval levels. (Have to script this into the SFTP file and manually maintain). i.e. level 1 approver: use nominees line manager. Or approver 2: route approval to nominee's HR Partner. Or line 3: all people in department x, route to x for approval. For direct cash awards that are paid outside of the platform (i.e. what GUILD calls non-monetary awards), there's no way to edit the suggested amount or "Send Back" the step to prior step. Means if an amount changes through the approval process, we have to cancel the award, ask the Nominator to resubmit, then go through the entire approval process again. Clients have very limited configuration options available compared to what GUILD support can do. Means we need to submit a ticket for basic set-up. Example: we'd like to limit the number of nominations a person can receive (example 1 per month) to help avoid duplicate awards for the same body of work. This is possible on the platform, but only GUILD admins can set it up. Pictures are not diverse (4 white males)

### "Beautiful But Not User Friendly"

I appreciate that we can acknowledge individuals at a company wide platform. I think we would benefit from greater support for ongoing implementation projects, flyers and advertisements created by RG to promote sales in the discounts and shopping arenas and general maintenance processes to streamline the system.

Pros

I have loved the ease of sending eCards for recognition for staff. I also like the options of adding important updates on extras our company is doing to a platform that can keep it all in a reference location without scrolling through emails.

Cons

As the acting administrator, some difficulties we've had include accurately and easily maintaining the employee database, having to create guides on using the software for our staff, getting questions answered timely and with complete information, having follow through from those who stated they would follow up. Turnover with our client success manager impacted holiday use. Implementation has been a struggle and support has not been readily accessible from one person so questions have to be reviewed from the beginning. Often several "success articles" were shared about a question with varying degrees of relatability to the question being asked. It continues to be trial and error.

I would like to be able to run more detailed reports (for example, specifics on each of the eCards - who is using them and what is said vs. just knowing the percentage of usage).

Pros

Reward Gateway's implementation period was fast. Customer support is attentive. If you're looking for integrating an Employee Recognition program, they have all the features you need to be successful. Their marketplace is great too, and employees can really pick and choose how to claim their awards. Also, they're actively adding new features!

Cons

Customization of reports (especially for determining ROI or employee usage) can be better. You're limited to pre-made reports that you might not even use in the long run.Also, customization of names. The system prefers legal names but some employees go by preferred names. It would be great to have the option of using preferred names to make rewards and recognition more personalized.There are lots more improvements to be had, but I know the team is updating features periodically.

Saving money, easy to access information

Pros

Savings! Especially like the instant loadable cards and vouchers. Like that the search searches for pages and savings. Works with mobile version very well; pages are easy to create and view/find;

Cons

Having to log in to site load money on cards (am aware can top by text). Should be easier I.e via an app. An app for the site would be useful. More features would be useful i.e create & amend the tabs/menus along the top; amend colours; more functionality-site is very 'boxy', have a page for forms, policies etc - the downloads area to the right of pages isn't user friendly for this type of page needed; the setting up of blogs is confusion-can't work it out; an email to me as admin when new offers/retailers & features become available; forms would be useful that the user can submit; a function where say, I can upload a new policy for new staff, and there is a function where the user can sign and date to say they have read and understood it, then recorded within the back system (save printing forms for 600 staff!); a catagloe of professional photos to use. Just a few suggestions!

### "Reward Gateway as a Tool at EVP"

I first took on the role as administrator when I join the organization. I was not aware of the vision for RG. I have since fully taken on the challenge of growing the usage of the tool as a recognition platform and "blog" space for the organization. I am also trying to grow the usage of the gift card and discount programs from the teammates.

Pros

Reward Gateway has offered us a tool for peer-to-peer recognition as well as Manager-to-Teammate recognition. We also use RG as a tool for communication to the mass audience of our staff. The access has been easy. The "blog" capabilities haev enhanced our broadcast communication efforts.

Cons

Sometimes the support has been a bit hard to understand. That situation is steadily improving and support has been consistent.

Reason for choosing Reward Gateway

I was not part of the original decision to select RG. Since March 2021, I have been the RG Champion. I like the overall aspects and tools available for recognition and discounts. I also like the messaging availability. I want to grow the usage of discounts and gift cards.

The BI Platform allows us to capture and share these stories, for all of our employees to see, hear, and feel our Mission In Action! All 1200 of our teammates can now actively hear stories from parts of our business corners that they might not typically know or hear about - and that helps keep us all better connected, and helps crystalize what each of one of our teammates does to contribute to the whole we deliver. And perhaps most-importantly, we can now create a storyline for our culture, and illuminate and clarify those norms that we want to be celebrated within our culture: in so doing, we create intimate vignettes of learning moments for all of us, specific images of how we want all of us to "do things around here!" And that all of it is delivered on a customized and very hip social media platform makes it a fun and contemporary space for our employees to navigate to. And when questions do arise regarding site logistics, the BI Team is superfastandfriendly with their support! Take a drive: you won't turn back!
