The one time I needed assistance, I was greeted by staff respectfully, where the customer service agent resolved my need while on the phone. Pros Text in Church is a user-friendly app that allows storage of information of guests/members as well as the ability of communication through texting/messaging. Cons I do not have any cons about Text In Church. Every aspect of use has been positive and attention from customer service was impeccable. I could have used it as much as I could. I learned how to send a mass text out. I know that there is a way to set it. I don't have to send one out every other week. Pros I like that it is easy to use. The customer support is very helpful. If you get stuck. I reached out once; the person walked me through the process over the phone and sent a video in the chat. Cons hard to link to or edit QR codes once they have been created. Example: We have a QR code on our Connect card that should send you a link to a digital Connect card, but the QR code was made a few years ago. We have not been able to edit it. We used them at my previous church and when we launched three years ago we started with them here. The organization has done a great job to seamlessly connect with other platforms like planning center. Pros Our church is three years old and so trying to stay in contact with people and building community has been critical. We send a weekly text message to the church to check-in and ask how we can pray for them. Our other ministries from Abortion recovery to students, groups, or family ministry use it to connect with different individuals and because of the price we have purchased 3 different phone numbers and we don't have to worry about private information getting into the wrong hands. At one point we went over our messages and their team worked with us to bless our church and blessed us with a few more messages for free. Cons It not about Text in Church but with people. We are so skeptical of different things and I personally don't like giving out all of my information. So getting guest to fill out forms, or our food pantry is almost impossible. Text is church has created a simple and easy to use platform we have to sale the reason why its important to be in community. Has capabilities that I haven't utilized to the max as of yet. Pros It is great for connecting with the younger generation in a meaningful way without spamming people. Many people want to be updated and included but not lumped into a giant group text where they become spammed by responses. This product has helped greatly with this! Cons As of this moment I don't have many cons. I have had some issues with connectivity with third party services while using but that could be based on the other companies side not TIC. The processes help create meaningful connection without becoming overwhelming. It has been a lifesaver in helping us make fast contact with first time and second time visitors. It is also a great way to communication to the entire church family in many different ways. Their customer service team is responsive and has fast solutions to any communication problem. Cons There is nothing that I dislike about Text In Church. It has many different layers of applications to church communication. It's deep and we are learning how to leverage it in an even greater capacity. We haven't had a need for customer service because everything has run so smoothly, but they have reached out just to check on how things are going and that's always nice to see from a company. Pros Set up was so easy as it integrates with Church Center. It's easy to navigate and send/schedule messages to our entire congregation or small groups easily. Cons Uploading files to send is a little "clunky" as you can only upload one file at a time and then only attach one file at a time to emails. We are able to provide phone access to multiple staff members and volunteers through their system, and their customer service team is always very responsive when we have issues. They provide us with multiple voice mail boxes and the ability to communicate with our clients and volunteers via text very easily. Cons There was a steep learning curve as our staff and volunteers have learned how to navigate the Text in Church system. Cons The one aspect of the platform is some difficulty I have had with adding on bundles when needed. But they do offer a wide range of packages so you can discover which works best for you. The customer service is also outstanding and they have been very present to walk me through any difficulties! Cons We need to build in some personal elements in the middle of the workflow to stay connected. We would love to be able to add our name or church name as the number so people don’t think it’s a spam call or text. We are considering addressing ourselves in the message so at least it’s possible iPhones would recognize and list it as us. It seems like people either really love it or really hate it. We found it expensive and cumbersome. GLOO is a much better platform and way more economical. Pros The ability to communicate with people quickly. Cons The texts were not reliable. Often we would schedule them and they'd either not go or be sent at the wrong time (was not operator error). It allows time for other areas of ministry, yet ensures we value our guests with effective follow up. Their customer service is quick, responsive, and compassionate. I can tell that each member of their team genuinely cares about churches and people. Pros Text in Church enables me to communicate with hundreds of people at the same time, in a personal way. This has enabled our church to grow exponentially by being able to connect more effectively. The Plan A Visit features through Text in Church allow guests to be connected and for barriers to be removed before they even enter our parking lot. Cons I wish that they offered multiple lines / user accesses within the same account. I also think that the "app" for mobile use is rather clunky and slow - this is probably the only piece I don't like. I expect that they will improve this soon. Support is exceptional. We have not experienced loss of service or loss of delivery in the texting. All in all I would say the software is valuable, flexible and reliable. Pros Automated responses and keyword texting are our favorite features of Text in Church. The ability to set in motion automated responses is both time saving and provides consistency to our constituents. Keyword texting and the automatic formation of groups within the software is especially valuable with first-time guests and useful when we are interested in building a group for communication within a specific interest or project. Cons Have not found one "con" in almost two years. Pros They ability to set up guest follow up so those who are new do not fall through the cracks. It has helped us stay in contact after someone has come and be able to minister after that initial visit. We also like the ability to put a plan a visit on our site so someone we can communicate with them and give them some invite on our church before they come. This helps out with those awkward feelings for new guests. Cons only thing I have is about setting specific dates for txts to go out, which they listen to our feed back and are working on this. It makes keeping up with my team easy and communication with the entire church a breeze! honestly, I'm forgetful most days and will remember to send someone a message at 10pm and that's not appropriate so I love that I can type it out and schedule it to send at a more appropriate time! I also LOVE the groups! you don't have to go in and select each person each time hoping you don't forget anyone! you can just click the group you want, one click! easy peasy!
