### "Easiest GIS platform to get started with"

June 9, 2022

5.0

So flexible I hardly feel like I need knowledge of lower level web map libraries for application creation

Pros

The MapEditor web application is a great balance between functionality and complexity. It isn't just a portal for authoring a map and sharing it, but acts as a browser based full featured GIS interface. The feature set isn't quite as extensive as desktop software, but the critical requirements to achieve most day to day GIS tasks are present. This means a single platform to learn for most casual GIS users/administrators.

Cons

Because of how GIS Cloud manages map projects and datasets, some of the functions provided act in a way that is a little unexpected. The interface also lacks some additional features that could help in long term data management, though incremental improvements are being made.

Alternatives considered

[QGIS](https://www.capterra.com/p/185949/QGIS/)[ArcGIS](https://www.capterra.com/p/93333/ArcGIS/)[Mango](https://www.capterra.com/p/158615/Mango/)

Reason for choosing Map Editor

Transparent pricing, security compliance, easier customization of interface, easier to train new users, good amount of core GIS features

### "Cloud mapping and editing"

November 7, 2022

3.0

A very good beginner platform for a small structural enterprise. Very much useful for data collection, monitoring and editing over a period of time. Works smooth for smaller projects with less elements and variables.

Pros

This software is easy to deploy on multiple devices. Users don't need much time in training hours to use. Efficient software for data mapping, geofencing, data points logging, and retrieve-implement co-ordinates over a specific location.

Cons

There is not great online support for the application software. Also, the users have to pay a lot when compared to other GIS mapping services in the market. Too much data would freeze the UI and takes a longer response time.

### " A Versatile Tool for Creating Custom Maps"

April 9, 2023

4.0

Pros

Easy to Use: The Map Editor is user-friendly and simple to navigate. Even those without experience in map-making can easily get started with this tool.Customizable: The Map Editor allows users to customize maps with different styles, themes, and colors. This feature makes it easy to create a unique map that fits any project or presentation.Versatile: The Map Editor is versatile and can be used for a wide range of purposes, including creating maps for personal projects, presentations, or business use.

Cons

Limited Features: While the Map Editor is versatile, it does lack some of the advanced features found in more professional map-making software. Users looking for more advanced options may need to look elsewhere.Limited Sharing Options: While it's easy to create a map in Map Editor, sharing it can be a bit more difficult. The sharing options are limited, so users may need to use other software to share their maps effectively.

Reason for choosing Map Editor

is a great tool for those looking to create custom maps quickly and easily. While it may lack some of the more advanced features of other software, it's a great option for those looking to get started with map-making or those who need a simple, user-friendly tool for creating custom maps.

### "Full GIS Solution"

November 30, 2021

5.0

I have already created different maps and projects using GISCLOUD. From Land Registry and Value projects to environmental projects. It fits really well when I think about publishing GIS data for my clients and the general public. It is the first choice when GIS Desktop software (such as QGIS or ARCGIS) is not sufficient to present maps and data.

Pros

The software has many qualities and differences in relation to other software. One of the main ones is the ease of use for creating maps online. Another important difference is its flexibility in working with different GIS data and their respective projection systems. Its ability to connect to external databases is also amazing. Another important point is the easy customization and design of layers. The map publishing system is very simple and intuitive.

Cons

A possible integration with client data is a gap that I think the software still has. If it can evolve to something like a BI, or to be integrated to an existing BI software, it will grow even more.

### "Great GIS Solution"

August 18, 2022

5.0

Pros

Easy Integration within the business and simple to set up for our clients who are not as experienced with GIS. Great solution for setting up as many maps as required, a lot of options for styling and complex form building and good at handling a lot of layers compared with other web map software. Allows connections between external databases which has proved essential. GIS Cloud have been very helpful implementing our customisation suggestions and along with the MDC which is a great tool for using out in the field, this software has provided exactly what is required for our clients. The customer service is excellent and they are quick at responding and looking into any IT issues that may occur.

Cons

The main home page interface lacks the ability to sort maps as required and although customisation is possible it is not very simple. Can sometimes be slow when handling very large file sizes and when moving layers around

### "Best solution for specialized projects with small budget"

August 2, 2022

5.0

GisCloud Map Editor provides a simple solution to collect the data I need from my network of about 75 collaborators. Unlike others, gisCloud was willing to implement a few initial customizations required for my use case and was able to provide me with the number of accounts I needed, well below our in-house cost. Their service is excellent, with real people who do their best to be helpful and are always a pleasure to deal with.

Pros

GisCloud Map Editor was intuitive to learn and has all the functionality necessary to collect the data I need through my network of collaborators, while keeping technical issues to a minimum. For situations where the web-based interface is too limited or too slow, the maps can be created in ArcGis or QGIS and uploaded to the Map Editor.

Cons

Editing feature attribute values by selecting features on the map, can only be done one at a time.

### "Gis Cloud in HEI context"

August 10, 2022

4.0

I used Giscloud Map Editor as a collaborative tool with my Students at IPMaia (https://www.ipmaia.pt/pt), in the context of a course on Geo-Spatial Web and Location Based Systems. Giscloud revealed to be a perfect bridge between the learning needs of my students and a mature market solution and service, thus fostering students' "contextual learning" and preparing them for the future. Giscloud team backed up the initiative enthusiastically and gave me great support. Overall, I recommend everyone to try GIS Cloud if you are looking for a replacement for ArcGIS or QGIS.

Pros

Overall capabilities and data integration, user and collaboration management, support.

Cons

Nothing relevant to point out, it completely covered up my use and collaboration requests.

### "GIS Cloud for Educational Use"

July 12, 2022

4.0

Great tool for teach GIS field data collection.

Pros

I have used GIS Cloud in my class to teach about GNSS and Field Date Recording. GIS Cloud along with MDC is help to teach about developing and implementing GPS data collection forms. Students also learn to download the data as a CSV file and transfer it to other desktop GIS applications. The customer support was very helpful in letting the instructor and students use the application for free during the semester.

Cons

I liked everything about this product.
