Pros: I'm too disturbed by the customer service to comment positively about the software

Cons: We had been with Fleetmatics/Verizon Connect for 12 years. We rec'd little support though a couple of years back, a sales rep called to have us sign a new contract with an annual autorenewal. This November we were researching Fleet tracking options and called F/VC to find out when our contract was up. We were told at the end of January so mid-December, we reached out to them to tell them that we weren't going to renew (we found another provider with more services and lower prices) and asked what we needed to do. The man who introduced himself as our "Customer Success Partner" told me that our contract requires 60 days notification so we were stuck through Jan 2020. I explained that we hadn't been informed that when we called. He sent me a copy of the contract and told me "too bad" that my company should understand who it is doing business with. He said in no uncertain terms we were locked in through Jan 2020. I asked to speak to his manager but was told she was out of the office but well aware so if I called her the next day, I wouldn't have any better success.

I did a search on New York State law and learned that a contract w/ autorenewal needing notice of more than 30 days requires the vendor to notify the signee of their renewal timing by certified mail (or in person) betwn 15-30 days of the deadline or it's not enforceable. Within 24 hours I received confirmation that the contract will terminated this January and not the following!

Overall: Awful.

Basically, a very good product. I highly recommend that you consider it for your fleet management.

Pros: Allows me to spend less time on fleet management and more time on other duties. Allows for driver accountability. Before we used manual logs to write in mileage. There were many gaps. Vehicles would be driven 100s of miles with no documentation of where they had been. We were also able to identify dangerous driving habits (90+ mph with a vehicle load of students!). We use it to provide dynamic routing to pickup students that have had their off-site schedule change. Finally, I have a good handle on maintenance and vehicles are serviced on time, because I can plan ahead. We even use it to track car washings. Training is great, customer service has always help me out in that regard.

Cons: There is no way to easily display current mileage. You must go into the edit vehicle function to display current mileage. There is no way to display the mileage of the vehicle during a trip. It will display the mileage traveled during the trip but not the actual vehicle odometer reading. Not a huge deal, but there are times where it might be useful (forgot to write down mileage of service that I performed in-house). Calculated mileage will drift over time, sometimes by a few hundred miles, so you should be adjusting about once a month by comparing actual vehicle mileage with program calculated. Add a driver as user is challenging if driver is not defined as a user first. Customer service is usual great, but it took me almost a month to get additional fobs last time.

The technology and product work reasonably well. The information is an asset to managing the fleet

Pros: The software is relatively intuitive....which is good because the customer support is the worst I have EVER experienced with any product! If you enjoy figuring things out on your own, you will really love this product. You can make it work for you with a little experimentation and some extra time invested.

Cons: The customer support is non existent. They have a lot of nice people answering the phone that are very sorry for your troubles...."someone" will get back to you within 24 hours. Unfortunately when they get back to you they are unable to assist you so they will elevate your issue to the tier 2 rep. The tier 2 rep will then get back with you in 24 hours. The tier 2 rep will likely be unable to help you...but they are also very nice, courteous folks who are sincerely sorry for your issue. The tier 2 rep will elevate it to a high priority and you will be contacted within 24 hours. The high priority rep will email you and ask if you have completed the proper documentation and send the forms to you....these will be the same forms you received and completed prior to this whole cycle beginning. Save the original forms so you can just resend it. It will save you time. I am sure by now you get the point...I have waited well over 6 weeks to get a device installed in a vehicle for fleet expansion. This has happened on more than one occasion. At present I am looking for another vendor who has equivalent technology with a matching suite of genuine customer service. My advice would be that you continue to look elsewhere and see what you can find before you are trapped in a 24 hour service cycle!

Good product, HORRID customer service.

Pros: ease of use, easy to install

Cons: Customer service is HORRID!

Overall: I've had this product for just over 2 years now tracking 17 trucks. Overall, I like the software, the mobile app, the fuel integration, mileage tracking, and service notifications. We've had a few issues with the installed units, but the installation team (which is subcontracted out) is very prompt and responsive to getting the issues resolved. My account rep and sales team, however, are a different matter altogether.

First off, most of the time I call customer service, I will inevitably be transferred at LEAST 2 times to a different department, and will have to explain the issue in full each and every time. I had a billing dispute (where they charged me for an add-on e-log that was never received nor installed in my trucks) and they refused to issue me a credit or even really address the issue. Their entire attitude is basically "well, we shipped them out (to the wrong address) and it's not our fault you didn't install them". I've spoken with my account rep, his boss, and even the Customer service manager. Not only will they NOT respond to calls or messages (they never answer the phone), but emails go unanswered as well. I'm currently fighting them to buy out my contract so I can find a company that will actually provide service to their customers. Do your homework folks... Good product, TERRIBLE customer service!

Pros: We've been using Fleetmatics, now Verizon Reveal, for years. We initially signed up with them because we wanted to keep track of what employees were doing in our company vehicles, but this software is capable of so much more. From tracking our oil changes to sending us alerts when employees are speeding, we use this every day. The customer service is amazing also, and there's a pretty nice referral program.

Cons: It recently went through a revamp, and we did a training for the new system about a year before it was actually released. It was a little bit of a messy transition, but once we downloaded the new apps to our phones and got over the hump of getting everyone back on the same page, it's been amazing. The upgraded graphical user interface and new features are great.

Overall: We love this software, and we have cut down on employees unapproved use of company vehicles and improved employee driving safety by using it.

Pros: Location tracking for assets as valuable as vehicles and trailers is essential for businesses our size, and has proven helpful almost immediately in tracking vehicle history and managing logistics in day to day tasks.

The driving habits they track as well are very informative and beautifully compiled with this software.

Cons: Customer Service has always been spotty and seems to still have issues after being bought by Verizon. Hopefully, these are just complications due to the transition in ownership.he

The Driver ID functionality is not as secure as it sounds, and the driver ID keyfobs are a hassle for companies with many drivers and constant new hires.

Tracking with trailers could also be improved, the struggle I understand as a trailer doesn't have a battery to connect to when not being towed... but we have trailers that are still reporting after 3 years or more and some that have stopped or needed repairs after only a few months. The companies that install the tracking units is outsourced, so this could be why we have noticed so many discrepancies between regions, which also adds unnecessary complications when scheduling installs/repairs.

Overall: Satisfied, but not WOW'ed

Pros: I work at a Fleet business where we have diesel technicians on the road performing emergency road service for diesel vehicles 24/7. This system helps us not only track our technicians locations, but so much more. We can guide them in their travel where there is less traffic to get to breakdowns faster, we can find parts stores faster for them and it keeps track of small things as in their oil changes and lets you know when the next one is due for each work vehicle.

Cons: There is nothing I do not like about this software. So far so good.

Overall: Overall we have solved problems in business with knowing where are technicians are even when they say they are somewhere else. It gives us proof of their locations in real time. While the technician is driving the unit on your computer screen will move as well. Great stuff!

Comments: We have been completely satisfied with the performance and functionality of Verizon REVEAL.

Pros: The stability has been flawless and the ease of use has made Verizon REVEAL a "go-to" for everything from quick reference location checks to detailed driver safety and vehicle performance monitoring. The fuel card integration has enabled us to monitor fuel purchases to ensure everyone continues to abide by our fleet fuel guidelines. The driving behavior reporting has dramatically improved our fleet's driving.

Cons: We really don't have many objections to the software. Possibly the developers could provide a screen saver function to protect large TV's like we use to display content from the application.

Pros: I'm not quite sure if the issues that our company has had with the new ELD's is a software matter or rather with our hardware. The main issues our drivers have had are with status changing by itself. A good example, when a driver has changed status to off duty for 30 min, break, suddenly the status changes on its own back to driving or something. We've had several occasions where the drivers havent been able to use the ELD's due to either not being able to log in and get to the dashboard or the app just not refresing .

Cons: Sometimes it doesnt work properly and therefore drivers have had to run paper logs in the meantime

while we try and get it, our drivers have to

Overall: I think it would be a lovely service once all the bugs are worked out of either the tablet or the connectivity.

There are an amazing amount of features available that are really cool and can come in handy. Although, I do hope they will get better so that our drivers can operate with them like they are intended.

Pros: We utilize this software for GPS tracking on our company vehicles. Since our employees are all over the place, it is crucial that we are able to see where they were and how long they were there. It helps with time clocks as well as ensuring productivity.

Lots of different report options. You can learn a lot about your fleet's daily activities with this product.

Cons: Editing geofence areas can sometimes be finnicky. Also, the search function can be finnicky as well. You can't just type in one word of the entire name of the place, it has to be the exact words in the correct order or it won't find it.

Pros: Been able to track vehicles when it actually worked and detailed reporting where necessary.

Cons: Reporting false location and telemetry. The car was parked in the workers home driveway of the home, (Physically inspected). The Verizon Connect System revealed the car was parked in the local park some 1klm away. Not very accurate reporting at all. Transponder Unit eventually swapped.

Another device reported a truck driver doing excessive speeds, however the truck has a speed limiter and was simply not possible to do that speed on the suggested road way when the device said it was in the middle of bushland where there are no roads.

Getting a detailed report can be slow if your downloading it and waiting for it to compile. Sometimes it would freeze up despite running all day. Most times, Had to close the browser and restart. Other times it was a little faster and did deliver the report.

Overall: Customer Service is a below average in my opinion. If your transponder unit fails or is not functioning correctly it takes weeks, if not months before someone investigates and actually does something and you must constantly complain before they will even consider replacing the unit. This is simply not practicle if your running a business.

My customer service representative, was quite happy to point out conditions of contract terms and costs but randomly listened when there were problems. At which point these were passed onto other agents.

Having had contract review time, I was told pricing would be looked into. A few weeks went by and was quoted that standard contract terms pricing applied. Definitely would not re-sign a new contract period with a lack of customer service I've experienced. If what they did not like hearing did not please them, their tone would change and definitely not in favor of helping or delivering that "Customer Service" you'd come to expect. It would simply be, "well sir, as per the contract". Do not expect discretion in their service delivery. It is a no from me.

Pros: Tracking option is excellent. ELD option is easy to use for drivers. The maintenance option helps our fleet stay on top of our preventive maintenance scheduling. IFTA reporting is done with just a few clicks of the mouse. Offers several reporting options to keep track of every aspect of your business.

Cons: Syncing with engine diagnostics fails sometimes. Having trouble with identifying unassigned miles. Editing options are difficult to do sometimes.

Overall: Verizon Connect has helped our business get in compliance with the new FMCSA ELD mandate relatively easily. They completed the installation on site and we were able to implement the new ELDs quickly and easily. The software and back office all work well with one another.

Pros: I love that I can access my druver's routes from not only my desktop or laptop, but my phone, as well. Once you get the hang of how the softwate works, it's pretty easy to use and gives me the ability to offer reliable ETA's to my customers, while giving me piece of mind knowing where our fleet is at all times.

Cons: It does take some time to get used to, each truck must have it's own unit (Which is expected, however, it is something you have to remember whenever selling or buying an addition to your fleet)

Pros: We use this software to track our assets but also to route our service department. Its efficient and accurate. It ties into our fuel cards so I can run reports to make sure gas use is not being abused.

Cons: There are a lot of other things this software does but we only use the basic functions. Seems a bit too much but I am sure if I ever have time to learn all the other functions I might start using them :-)

Overall: Seems over built for my needs however does what I need and does it great so no complaints.

Pros: Parts of it are user friendly when they are working.

Cons: This system is extremely unreliable. We have had a ton of problems with our trucks reporting on the GPS in locations where they are not, sometimes for days at a time. Also showing the incorrect driver on some reports vs others. Drivers on trucks changing mid day on the reports when they didnt actually. Stops at Geo fences not being recorded, Geofences being suggested in places we already had Geofences and the data only showing on their SUGGESTED Geofence but not on our already existing one. We bring concerns to their attention and either don't hear back or they tell us its resolved, only to have it happen again. There's also been problems with Customer Support communicating with each other and to us to arrange for new GPS units to be installed which therefore took over 2 months to receive instead of 2 weeks. The GPS is based on Google Maps which is 5 years old in our area and therefore inaccurate with speed limits in a number of area's, growth of businesses and homes in the area are not shown, etc.

Lastly, when they sold us the product we were told that they would have the Electronic Log Book available soon. Once we signed on they informed us that because we're located in Canada, it wouldn't be available to us for another 3 - 4 years!! "oops, sorry about that misinformation". Ridiculous.

Overall: This platform should not be sold to anyone else until they have worked out all of their kinks. It is NOT worth its cost, not even close.

Pros: We love how easy the interface is, how flawless the updates are, and how accurate the location feature is. With reveal we can accurately track how long one of our service guys is a t someones house, which helps us out with time allocation and billing.

Cons: They used to run off of AT&T satellites, but I believe now it'[s Verizon. Basically it means sometimes you can lose your gps view completely if the satellite you're on goes down or is out of range.

Pros: user friendly, helps to identify where our drivers are. it's the first thing i open up on the computer every morning. also helps that it can be used from another location (home on the weekend). also many vital reports, from verifying time cards to service alerts. really helps rescue drivers when lost, especially with the new upgrades, where you can see satelite images of the area they are in. just yesterday we helped out agian with the use of this tool.

Cons: hate that is a 4 year committment, but don't know what i'd do without it. that's the thing about a product/service it sells itself and shouldn't need to have a 4 year commit. my committment is coming up soon, now i have to decide whether to remain with Verizon REVEAL or shop around. i'm defenitely sold on the concept, performance and ease of use.

the one thing i really dislike is the property tax that the third party vendor attaches to these units. i don't know if it happens in any other state, but in the state of michigan equipment that is in a vehicle is not subject to property taxes. i know this as we used to run with radios in the vehicles to dispatch our drivers. this was never part of a property tax bill, even though those units ran around 1K each.

Overall: i love this product, the fact that it is consistantly upgraded and tweaked. i really never have taken advantage of any training because it is so easy to use, even a dummy like me can utilize it, and my other managers get the reports they need.

Pros: The interface is very functional. We now have 8 vehicles on GPS at all times, in our business many times you'll need to drop everything and find help. The GPS allows us to our closet tech in the area. The Geofences also allow us to see how often we visit our favorite vendors which has provided essential info on our decision to begin stocking inventory.

Cons: The alerts are pretty unclear when there is an incident. Our drivers tend to give a bit on push back on their weekly driving score. If there was a bit of definition behind "hard braking or "quick starts" I think that would go a long way.

Pros: It is great at estimating routed delivery times, and keeping personnel accountable, as the manager can always track where they are. Easy to integrate with our invoice system, pulls orders straight through.

Cons: It can be a bit cumbersome and slow, especially when it has to re-optimize a route due to the addition of a stop.

Overall: It helps improve employee accountability. Very easy to use, and helps me manage throughout the day, adding or taking away stops and jobs is also a breeze.

Pros: We use the program to track our six trucks. It is simple to use and straight forward. The real time updates are helpful.

Cons: Occasionally the web pages don't update very quickly. I also found that it was not easy to tag locations that are used regularly. (ie employee homes and suppliers). It would be nice if you could set it up to flag whenever trucks were certain places, or when they were travelling at certain times.

Pros: The GPS system works fairly well and the reports are handy. The online interface is easy to use. Drivers are simple to set up, customer service is awful.

Cons: Our rep had no idea how the ELD system he was selling was going to work. After asking numerous questions about mobile device compatibility we ordered and installed 9 logbooks into our trucks. Before installation we were told that they would work with iPhone, iOS, and all Android devices. After they were installed they told us we had received ELD devices that would only work on Android. No Apple devices were compatible. We then ordered 3 Android tablets for our apple users and setup data plans for those . We still can't use all of the ELD required features because now they don't work with Android phones, only tablets! I talked all of this over with our rep before we ordered. I don't think he lied, I think he had no idea! The updated App we need for the phones is still "being developed" and we still don't have it. I can't get thru on the phone and our rep was either fired or quit. His replacement won't call us back even though we have left him countless messages and emails. This is the worst customer service I have ever received.

Pros: Live updates and vehicle tracking. It's the first program I turn on every day and I monitor it constantly. It's a very useful tool.

Cons: It's almost too fancy as I don't use a lot of its features. I also don't like the billing as it comes in now as Verizon and I also have their phone service. Last month I paid my phone bill with what I should've been paying the Verizon Connect. Now I have a credit on my phone and a late payment to Verizon Connect.

Overall: I found it easier to use than my old GPS system and the pricing had gone down since Verizon bought our Fleetmatics. I had started with Fleetmatics before GPS tracking was a big market but it became too costly as I had downgraded my fleet and had to still pay over a month with no active vehicle to assign the GPS to.

Pros: Tracking, some reports, dashboard is, fleet service

Cons: support is not good at all. information provided varies from person to person. switching reps every 2 months it seems

Overall: The support you receive from this product is non existing. What they sell you is not supported at all. They change things around and never let you know. Trying to get anything resolved is like pulling all your teeth at one time.

Pros: I love how easy the software is to use! The live map shows you were all your trucks and equipment are. You can easily tell if they are moving, stopped, or idling. We recently had a truck stolen and without Verizon Connect we probably wouldn't have found our vehicle for days but we got our truck back the same day with no damage!

Cons: I have the most difficulty keying in the key fob numbers. Not that it hard but the numbers on the fobs are very difficult to see!

Overall: Verizon Connect Reveal is very easy to use. The customer support is excellent! It saves us money by allowing us to track our vehicles and know where are employees are at. We know which drivers are speeding and driving the vehicles harshly. I schedule a weekly report to see who is speeding and driving the vehicles harshly. I also schedule a Time Card Report each week so that I compare their time sheets to it. We are very happy with the quality and service we have received!

Pros: Easy to use online platform except electronic logs.

Cons: Electronic logbook solution did not work consistently. Was not able to be installed for proper operation of pre-2000 vehicles so when a driver would change vehicles there was no way to log trips.

Overall: Worst Customer Service Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Promises not kept, support not received, would never recommend to anyone. EVER.

Comments: Research other vendors - We have been told ERoad is great. Don't waste your time with this company. We are actively looking for a new provider.

Pros: We love the live map feature and many of the reports - so long as everything is working properly in the system.

Cons: Customer Service is absolutely horrible. We have been with Fleetmatics for close to 4 years now. Often times, I have the solutions to the issues long before anyone at Fleetmatics does since I have been working with the product much longer than the majority of customer service. I feel like I should be on their payroll. Currently, they are refusing to reactivate a unit in our system even though THEY are the ones who made an error and swapped the unit with a different unit on their end. We have not been able to "see" this truck on our map in well over a month. We have experienced a complete lack of service, our account rep only addresses what she wants to, my emails regarding trouble tickets go answered for several days, weeks, and lately we've even had a few cases that have been opened for months. As far as calling in for help, don't waste your time. I've sat on hold for well over an hour and refuse to call them now. It's sad that this company has zero loyalty to their clients that have stuck by their side as they've grown through the past few years. As of this morning, it has taken our Safety Department an hour or better just to get the live map to come up on our computers however, every single other program we utilize is working just fine.

Run away! Use someone else, anyone else!

Comments: We liked Fleetmatics well enough but Verizon is beyond horrible. We are currently looking at how to get out of the contract we had as the service we pay for is not being provided even remotely. Find someone else, anyone else.... the Big Corporate Attitude is alive and well with Verizon and they just don't seem to care about the customer.

Pros: GPS units are really good for machines that may sit in 1 position but are not truly 'idle' as the engine is engaged; fairly easy to navigate the dashboard

Cons: It doesn't work! The system is glitchy and all customer service does it ping the unit and say "there are intermittent glitches that should be expected". Despite telling them a list of units have been faulty for some time, they just tell us everything is fine and we just need to deal with it. Which brings us to the next problem - customer service is HORRIBLE. They are impossible to get a hold of, don't answer questions and just flat out deny anything is wrong. We even tried our new sales rep and he refuses to respond to any emails despite numerous attempts over the last month to correct issues. Managers are no better - they really do not seem to care.

Very helpful in keeping up with our vehicles, and keeping our customers informed of their status.

Pros: I like that I can replay each truck's route, I use that to verify timecards. We can look back to see if there was any time that wasn't work related. Very detailed reports of location and time at each location of each truck .

Cons: Nothing really, I don't have any issues with the software. I would love to have cameras in vehicles, we may add that later .

Overall: We save gas & payroll expense while using this software to track our vehicles. We are able to tell if vehicles are left idling which wastes gas.

Pros: Verizon based communication works very well for us in this area. Reliable. Ease of use. Handles geofencing very well. Reporting is very good as well.

Overall: Needed a GPS/DOT log solution.

Pros: This software when it works is great, we use it daily and require all drivers to use it for logs. Also love the fact that tracking trucks is much easier and very visual, easy for our operations guys to use.

Cons: This software can have issues if not 100% updated and also we use this in conjunction with our own software and have seen some issues with our MDM and launcher while using

Overall: If you need fleet software and tracking and help with compliance this is a good option

Pros: We've been a customer of Fleetmatics/Verizon Connect for nine years and the software has been an integral part of our operations. Multiple office staff were constantly logged on and this has been instrumental in managing our operations.

Cons: All is good until a couple of trackers stopped working in October and we are still playing phone/email tag with support- now in February! The dedicated support rep is rarely there to answer the phone and emails can take days to get a response. Asking for a manager helps but the result is the same: "We are so sorry..." But the tracker still does not work, they still cant get a tech to come install it, etc etc. Time to move on expect they have an auto renew clause that if you miss the 60 days prior auto renew, youre stuck for another year. Advice: Shop around. There are many fleet tracking companies and I'm taking time out of my day to share my experience with you so hopefully one less company will have to deal with this poor level of service.

Pros: It is very easy to Navigate thru the dashboard. The live map is current within 2 minutes. The dashboard is visually appealing. Our sales rep stays in contact and if any problems helps out immediately.

Overall: We can track all our trucks, keep track of job times easliy.

Pros: The reports are by far the most accurate I've seen from any other tracking software. Verizon has great coverage so if you are looking to go cheap on your business this is not for you. If you want real optimization and ROI. These guys have one of the best products in this space.

Comments: I have been back and forth with them since last October. they have changed names , and im sure its for reasons like mine.

Pros: nothing. not one thing. I have asked for one reason to stay, give me anything. I don't want to go through looking for another company. just give me more trackers. but they want to downsize instead. good customer service.....not.

Cons: worse company service ever. asked to get more trackers. the company rep suggested that I start down sizing and cancelling trackers. I of course agreed , she said she would start taking them off as they were out of contract... great until the last four came out of contract , then refused to honor what the rep suggested. they have called me a liar, threatened to report me to a credit agency, when they continue to steal my money every month. taking from my checking account. all of a sudden they need 60days written notice, but didn't need anything in writing when they took the first 4 off. they are con artiest and thieves

Pros: Once installed, the online portal is easy to use. ELD tracking is accurate on the map and easy to use. Very self explanatory online.

Cons: Customer service is horrendous. Can't get devices in a timely manner, sales person never responds, customer service on hold is HOURS... a driver on the road called the "dedicated driver line" and waited three hours for someone to pick up. Glitches that log a driver in even when not driving and other issues. Some issues could be overlooked if customer service were responsive.

Overall: Inexpensive and compliant.

Pros: The live map function to view where your team is in real time is my favorite part of the GPS software.

Cons: The program itself is a bit harder to navigate in terms of looking for reports on certain situations. For example: to run a report for Speeding over the last week is an easy button to get your report, but to find the speeding for one vehicle over the course of a few weeks is a much harder task to accomplish.

Overall: REVEAL has allowed us to cut costs with "emergency service orders" by giving us information on the location of employees in the field. With this feature, we are able to find the closest worker to the homeowner, and then send them to fix the problem. This solution is much quicker than calling each of them individually and trying to pinpoint where they are in reference to the homeowner.

Pros: We can track where the company vehicles are.

Cons: Their incompetent IT department that hasn't the first clue on how to fix issues that arise.

Overall: All's this program is good for is seeing where your vehicles are. Do not purchase this program if you would like to take advantage of it's reporting and vehicle assignment function. We have had two other issues with the reporting functions in the past 8 months and are now on our third. We were using vehicle assignment function to produce the daily time card reports to distribute to supervisors for time card review and approval until the clock time assignment stopped working. We are now going on five weeks and their incompetent IT department still has yet to fix it!!! I have spoke to three of their IT representatives, between my co-worker and I we have spent probably close to three hours each explaining and reviewing this current issue at hand. I just keep getting bi-weekly calls to let me know they still have yet to fix it and are still trying to create a "patch" or correct this issue and the problem is still in "development". We pay $2,000.00 a month to have this program work, this is just down right ridiculous and very frustrating!!!!

Recommendations to other buyers: Yes, do further research before you consider this program, their customer service is terrible and their IT department is incompletant!!
