" May 17, 2018 4.0 Pros I like that as long as you have wifi you can share files and images with anyone anywhere. It automatically backs up your information so I don't feel the need to worry about losing projects. I often use drop box with colleagues to go over images or to get feed back being able to share so easily makes collaborating go so much faster. You can also share with your clients making small family shoots a breeze. I can do the shoot go home and edit and send them all of their files over drop box I dont need to meet them again or give them a hard copy. With this day and age most clients prefer everything to be fully digital. Cons Sometimes I feel the program can be a bit slow especially as a photographer moving large amounts of photos. The security reputation of the company is not one of the best and that does cause some concern with the nature of my business not everyone wants their pictures shared some prefer privacy. I would also say the price can be a bit steep. Also, Dropbox allows you to select what is it you want in your local hard drive or not Cons I had once an issue regarding a renewal of the licence, and for 3 weeks I had no access to all the work that on Dropbox! There are other products that provide storage plus better collaborating tools just fine. Pros I liked how much space Dropbox provides premium users as well as Dropbox's ability to be accessed on the desktop. When sharing files with people who don't necessarily need to collaborate, Dropbox Business makes it easy to do from anywhere in the world. Cons When it comes to file editing and collaborating, Dropbox Business isn't the best. If the person who's receiving the file doesn't have a particular program (eg. Microsoft Word), there can be issues. There's no transparency of edits between collaborators. I wish the shared accessibility/visibility was a bit nuanced - but it's all or nothing. I can't tell you how many times I've saved a trip to the office by sending a link to a larger file from my phone. It's definitely a time saver. Cons When you first get set up with an "unlimited" account, it's actually only 3TB... after that you have to chat with customer support to unlock 1 additional TB once you use 75% of your first 3 TB. So if you plan on moving over to dropbox and migrating all your files there, it may be a very tiring and aggravating process. If I knew up front, I might have gone with a different service. Pros We use dropbox within our business to upload and share files with different departments. It is great for that use and makes things very convenient. We have very large files that we need to share at any point in time and drop box makes that possible. Cons We have found that dropbox tends to slow down our computers when it is running. The best is the ability to sincronice files almost inmediatelly from any devide to the cloud. Cons One of the main features I use is photo syncronization from my cellphone. Paying only one account is not enought to sincronize photos from different devices in different folders. Its no so so good for how I use this feature. But when I did I used it to backup photos for my clients and to share the folders with them. The benefits of this were huge at the time because we literally used to post Flash drives to our customers for them to have access to high res imagery. Pros Dropbox was the first cloud storage I ever used. It was a game changer as far as being able to store and back up your work directly onto the cloud. File sharing was made easy and it was the first of its kind. Being able to add people to certain folders so that they had real-time access to anything they needed was a huge game changer. Cons At first, I loved Dropbox, there was really nothing out there that competed. But once I tried another cloud-based service I realised there was something about Dropbox that I just didn’t enjoy. I found the user interface a little cumbersome and complicated. I could honestly never get the syncing to my desktop to work properly. I found the pricing to be high too. Review Source Adity D.
