My experience of using Ticketsource for setting up Dulwich Players bookings

Comments: I have only used Ticketsource two or three times so far, but on the whole I find it a useful and relatively easy to use tool. It took me a little while to get used to it, being mainly a case of trial and error, as there are no real guidance notes; but some advice from a previous user helped considerably. With a bit of experience it is relatively easy to use, although I do have trouble moving between screens to check entries. I also have trouble swapping between data entry and viewing the public screen; it won't always let me view the public side after I have been entering information. It seems to get stuck in one mode at a time.

I have had problems with customers making bookings which Ticketsource has not notified me of. They do generally show up in the daily summaries, and in the summariesd when bookings close, but I don't always get individual emails to tell me when someone has booked tickets. A few times customers have turned up at the show, with copies of bookings which I knew nothing about. This can be a bit embarrassing for us, and it risks double bookings, if we then sell more tickets by other means.

The information available on the people making the bookings is useful, as it gives us an idea of where the bookings are being made, which helps with publicity.

The ability to add or reduce the numbers of tickets available is useful, for reallocating tickets depending on where we are selling most at any time.

For our last production, we wanted to add a few notes to the booking information, but couldn't find any obvious place to do so. I did eventually find somewhere (I don't now remember where) but not everyone making a booking found the note, it being hidden away a bit. It would be good if there was an easy way of adding explanatory notes, which everyone would get to see.

Overall, Ticketsource is a good and useful way of selling tickets. Once familiar with it, it is relatively easy to use. If it could be made a little easier to use, and booking confirmations made a bit more reliable, then it would be even better.

If there are still things you find unintuitive and the video tutorials and knowledge base (under the "Support" tab) don't help, then please don't hesitate. Call our Support Team on 029 2071 3200. They're really friendly and guiding new users is what they are there for. Booking confirmations not coming through consistently is unusual. Normally they either do or they don't. I've checked your account settings and everything as it should be. Can I ask you to check that the missing confirmation emails weren't caught in your spam filter? If you find any there just mark them as "false positives" in your spam app and that should eliminate future problems. I hope that now you're familiar with the system it serves you well. Comments: We have been using Ticketsource for at our theatre for approximately 5 years now. The system works well for our customers who can book seats at a time that suits them and we do not have to be on site to take bookings. As a small venue this is very cost effective for us as we do not have to staff a 24hour box office. Our staff we find the systems straightforward and reliable. We have all the booking details at our fingertips, so we are able to answer customer queries efficiently. Archive materials are easily accessible which makes financial reconciliation straightforward and transparent.
We are able to link directly to our website and can also benefit from the wider Ticketsource community on line.
Ticketsource allows us to customise each event to our own needs allowing us to create tailor made seating plans, pricing structures and booking discounts and incentives. We can add information and publicity material to each performance.
Customer support is very good with a number of options including FAQ's to assist with basic problems, an on line help facility and a telephone help line. The site also includes very helpful tutorials for setting up events and trouble shooting, which are brief and not at all patronising.
Ticketsurce also allows us to run our own box office at strategic times and as much of our business is from schools, dance schools and local amateur companies within a small radius of the venue, it means that customers have the option not to get involved in the extra cost of booking fees.
It would help us greatly as a venue if there were an option to print off whole shows with all the ticket prices on one ticket, as many amateur groups who sell within their own small community like to take possession of all the tickets to sell directly. I am aware that this does not benefit Ticketsource and would make accounting for ticket sales impossible, but many of our clients would prefer to have multiple prices on each ticket, enabling them to highlight the price paid or to cross off the other prices. I'm not sure if other venues would benefit from this service and I fully appreciate that we may be in the minority.
I would certainly recommend Ticketsource to venues of all sizes as it really is a complete package. The rates are reasonable and the support is excellent

Comments: We have been using TicketSource as our sole provider for Box Office solutions now for just over a year. During this time, they have continued to improve what was already an excellent product! The service provided when cancelling a show or encountering a technical issue has been superb. Issues are dealt with efficiently and you are kept informed of progress at all times.

New features are introduced at a steady pace, allowing for casual users to maintain their knowledge at all times - vital when operating with a core of voluntary staff. Many of the new features introduced have been as a result of requests and the feedback system for suggesting these improvements is again very useful.

There is a flexibility throughout the modules that allows for any possible outcome or request to be solved. Whilst this does not boast as many built in marketing tools as other Box Office solutions, steps have been taken to improve this over the past few months. MailChimp integration has now been added which allows mailing lists to be updated automatically (drastically reducing time spent exporting customer lists and updating manually!)

Reporting and maintaining records has been a real improvement for the Box Office. The system tracks customers and all of their purchases meaning targeted marketing is always an option. Sales reports as requested by many commercial users of the theatre as well as hirers are easily run, though be warned it is not possible to schedule these.

Overall, whilst there is not some features of other Box Office solutions, the service and quality of product provided at no cost is excellent! We would thoroughly recommend the system to any other theatres or ticketing establishments.

Comments: I have been using TicketSource for 18 months and once you get to understand what the various options are and how to deal with the charges (fee added on in full or fixed amount etc) it is simplicity itself to use thereafter. Help is at hand if you don't understand the online instructions. Copying and then amending an existing event to create a new event makes life very easy as you do not have to enter all the regular details each time. Reporting is excellent on both customers and event ticket sales and having emails when there has been a sale is an excellent facility to keep track of progress on ticket sales.

Funds are always trafsferred soon after the event has ended and there has never been any problem reconciling the amounts received as each event is paid separately and matches the sales report. Could not be simpler.

As a rural venue it has added to our customer base with almost 20% of ticket sales now being online rather than purchased in our two local shops or at the door. Furthermore most new customers tick the box that allows us to add them to our emailing list for event information. Our list has doubled in the past 12 months, mostly due to new online purchasers asking to be added to it.

Comments: TS is one of those rare services that delivers exactly what it says. For a small arts organisation that is always looking for cost-effective solutions, TS has proved invaluable to us. It is easy to use, provides a variety of information in formats that can be exported to our other systems and flexible enough to not only serve as an in-house box office, but also as an on-line customer service which can be managed off-site by our volunteers - everything we need.
Its customer service is truly outstanding. On the rare occasions when we have had to contact them with a technical issue it is resolved quickly and efficiently. Sometimes we have asked for slight changes to made to the system and, when possible, these have always been made.
The only small criticism I would make is with regard to the ticket printer which every now and again stops working. This seems to be caused by a problem with the printer cache which, because it is not on our network, has to be cleared by TS. Again, technical support resolves this quickly and has made suggestions for preventing future problems.

Comments: I don¿t often leave feedback when asked, but I thought I would this time.

I haven¿t checked our bank account yet, our finance dept will do that, but from my point of view, as the administrator of the event and the manager of the venue where the event was held ¿ I have nothing but praise for your system.

It is quick, easy and painless to set up; it takes the hassle out of everything; the options of either the customer or we pay your small booking fee is excellent; the reporting is the best I¿ve ever seen in this market and the whole experience was professional and easy. One of our sister sites used a rival of yours and paid for the privilege ¿ the service was comparable but far harder to set up, changes needed to be emailed to a thurd party and all of that takes time. With ticketsource all I needed was my log in and my smartphone or laptop and I could make instant changes from anywhere.

A truly standout, free service is hard to come by online now since every market seems to be flooded with style-over-content packages with hidden costs that put me off at the last minute. I am delighted I stumbled upon TicketSource and though we don¿t do a lot of them I will be using you for all my ticketed events in the future.

I look forward to working with you again.

Comments: The service is great and fairly easy to use, I particularly like the options to customise the landing page with your personal banners. Customers who are issued tickets have commented how easy it is to use and The paper ticket service is faultless and great value for the purchaser.

Areas for improvement would be the affiliate sign up page. It is off putting and soulless with too much information required of the person signing up on one page, maybe spread over two or cut down the info required until they actually put an event on? Simplification and friendliness are what is needed here.

The option to use your smartphone is great, however the option to download the sales to the device would be very useful as I have put events on in a crypt venue and found out that I could not get a data signal there and had to find somewhere to print out the list at the last minute. I have had an affiliate at a rural site suffer with this surprise too

I love the Facebook api and although it is not as big yet can something be designed for google+?

Overall a good service which can awesome in the future.

Comments: 1, Good customer service and very helpful to provide solutions and ideas to suit the clients needs
2. Simple to use system, however we still have issues with the scanners and collation of scanned users
3. Versatile product - but the functionality to allow the client to associate a bar code with a particular seat for Season Ticket holders would be useful. For example we need bar codes printed onto cards before a person has chosen an actual seat.
4. Competition is growing from other similar companies offering to charge ticket commissions of 5% and payments made as they are purchased by the customer - From our company viewpoint we are very happy with Ticketsource but we have to evaluate options, especially commercial ones that serve our customers and cash flow better from a commercial standpoint.

We're also looking to improve existing features with scanning tickets (i.e. TicketSource Express for Windows, enabling you to upload scanned bookings back to the website) and season tickets, being amongst our current priorities. Please keep in mind that other solutions which offer a cheaper ticket commission also require you to plug-in your own payment gateway, which will also incur additional costs. And many will charge you for the privilege of entering your own in-house bookings, something that will always be free with TicketSource.

Comments: In general, I like this software. It does the basics of ticket provision well and is easy to use from a ticket buying customer point of view.

From a seller point of view, I think it would benefit from further development. For larger / fixed venue amateur theater companies who have lots of data to add, making the interface more user-friendly and cohesive would be good. It's all very small things that you get used to but should be easier.

They also offer no season ticket function or ability to print and pay for multiple bookings in only one or two
Clicks.

The negatives said, their customer service team are brilliant. Their support is great, they are unfailingly polite and pleasant, and never make you feel like your question is daft.

Using TicketSource is revolutionizing the box office of my theater group. I love it!

Comments: Ticket Source is a very able ticket sales solution for events (we use if for a Fireworks event). It has lots of functionality and flexibility which is what we need. The only con I can think of this that it's a bit expensive in terms of the cut Ticketsource take from sales - we're a non-profit / fundraising event and we would have hoped that Ticketsource would have let us keep more of the profits for the charity donations we make from the proceeds of the event.

We have kept our customer booking fees as low as we can while still being a sustainable business; able to afford the resource to keep supporting and developing the system; and to continue providing the system FREE of charge to event organisers. Our margins are pretty thin, but it's worth it for us to stay competitive. One thought - I don't know if you are aware that we do offer a fixed 5% fee rate for transacting online donations for registered charities, which includes handling the Gift Aid processing. We can do that with donations because - unlike ticket sales - donations carry absolutely no risk to us of incurring a second set of credit card provider fees (as is the case when we have to process customer refunds for cancelled events). Hope you continue to feel that on balance we provide value for the Round Table. Regards Alex

Comments: When we decided to open up the then Writhlington School theatre as a small professional venue, a robust box office system was essential. The venue was run by one full time and one part time staff, so minimising effort was very important for us. TicketSource makes everything so easy. It took less than an hour for us to set up the system, from scratch, including seating plans, venue details box office front-end and Facebook integration. Customer support from TicketSource has also been first rate. One one occasion, I had to phone them an hour before a show went up and they quickly resolved my problem over the phone.

Overall, TicketSource has been a fundamental tool in our development of the venue. TicketSource Express allows us to have volunteer ushers scanning tickets from iPads at the auditorium doors. But the thing I value most about TicketSource is that it is still evolving. They are constantly listening to feedback and adding new features, most notably the rework of reservations. I've recommended TicketSource to many other small companies who have also reported great success with it.

If you're a small venue or company looking for an all-in-one box office solution, you need TicketSource.

Comments: I use ticket source for 90% of my events. I found them via The Pumphouse Children's Theatre in Watford UK, and have been singing there praises ever since.

There are some usability issues in the ticketing (the iphone app is MEGA slow unless you have phenomenal lighting which is not always the case in a theatre) and there are some confusing issues regaring the best way to set up ticket prices, nevertheless staff are helpful and usually pretty quick. idance® is happy to recommend (and have many many times done it) TicketSource !

Re. the issues with iPhone ticket scanning app in low light conditions: We are currently dependent on the technical limitations of the iPhone camera itself, which is what the app uses to scan. It is great when you have normal lighting in a theatre foyer, but not so good in low light within an auditorium for example, To overcome this problem, the next version of the TicketSource Express app will support the use of a clip-on accessory for your iPhone/iPod that actively generates a laser beam to scan with, rather than just relying on the ambient light present. This functionality is at a fairly advanced stage of development so we should hopefully be announcing its launch quite soon.

Pros: they have a very systematic solution and addressing the user data for the ticket collected and resolve it with the very fastest and reliable way possible.

Cons: Submitting the ticket in the system is a little slow if they have a huge queue. i suggest an improvement there if they can.

Comments: Ticket software was fine, analytics were useful, not particularly stand out amongst competition, what did make ticketsource stand out was the availability of ticket scanning hardware, unfortunately hardware did not work (most importantly incorrect charger for base station laptop), causing a great deal of extra work during the event and cost of temporary universal charger to get the thing to work. Faultiness of charger then completely denied by customer service, will not be using ticketsource again, is ridiculous after they made around £1300 from the event.

To confirm, we use the same make of laptop for all of our scanning kits so its not possible that an incorrect charger could've been dispatched. The scanning hardware was analysed by the technical team upon its return, and the supplied charger was found to work correctly with the laptop. That said, we really do value customer feedback and are always looking to improve our offering. To this end, we will shortly be introducing a brand new scanning solution which will better anything else available in the marketplace, so I do hope you will reconsider using our service in the future. Comments: Great back end functions etc but interface is a little ugly especially on mobile devices. Wish could bulk update events, i.e. if change general terms and conditions, it's very painstaking to indiv modify each upcoming event. We really use the public facing ticket remaining function, it would be great if this was visible on mobile view and not just desktop.

Also mobile view doesn't work if trying to refund a customer, the boxes all overlap so you can't click them to check bookings. this would be handy when checking a booking at the box office where we don't have a PC.

if you add an extra date to an event which is already on sale, you want to copy it to keep all the info.. if you copy it , there is no way of indicating which is the copy (to then change the time and date) it's way too easy to change the time and date of the original event that already has tickets attached so involves lots of going back and forward.

Pros: Once set up, this software takes most of the trouble associate with ticketing away. The interface is fairly self explanatory and if things do get confusing the help site is both intuitive and informative.
There was no claim process, as soon as the event was over funds were credited to our accounts and there was a full detailed report regarding every transaction.

Cons: The initial planning is a little long winded. I would like the ability to customise the seating plan layout further. There's nothing wrong with the current set up, I'd just like to be able to configure it to look like my theatre.

Overall: Took away the hassle of ticketing almost completely.

Pros: We've been using TicketSource for many years now and the customer service team are exceptionally good at getting you started, helping to iron out kinks and give support when needed. However, the system is really intuitive and easy to use. They have added extra functions over the years and it feels very bespoke given how it can be adapted to different venues and events. I feel it is by far the most friendly and easy to use system out there.

Cons: The only thing (as a charity) we don't like is that any donations also get a surcharge as it feels like a heavy penalty on people's generosity over and above what they pay for their ticket fee.

Comments: I've been using Ticketsource for nearly four years with a Live music project in the Yorkshire Dales. the system allows multiple venues to be stored so setting up a gig is as simple as copy event and change the band name. I use a bar code scanner at event which makes entry easy and looks awesome. most of my guests just use the home printed tickets and the system alerts if someone tries to cheat. Support is great, but hardly had had to use it. it works best with wifi access at the venues but can be ran off line if down loaded once online ticket sales close. A great advantage it that cash sales pre event can be entered free of charge for those guests without internet. The only disadvantage is the sales payment is not made until the Wednesday after a weekend event which effects cash flows if you have a expensive band to pay on the night. In conclusion its a fab system which is easy to use and sell tickets online, hopefully I will be using Ticketsource for years to come.

Comments: This is the second time we have used TicketSource and this time round it has been great! Last year we had a couple of problems that didn't help the way we handled our tickets but we went back with ways of how they could improve and their technical team worked together to help us. With their help we were able to sell our tickets with no problems at all. The back of house system worked really well for us, as a company we sell lots of different ticket types and its important to be able to pull off reports, check customers details and doing this with TicketSource was very easy. If we had any questions or were struggling to set up the event the customer support was brilliant and very helpful! As we are a seasonal event we only use TicketSource for a certain amount of time but we will certainly be returning to use them again. Highly recommend!

Comments: The customer support was great, I especially liked the fact the team could view how I had set up our event page and provide step by step advice. The FAQ's on the website were helpful too.

I often found it difficult to find the right set of data and became confused at times when trying to understand the difference between two data sets eg. sales report, the front of house report, price category report etc. However, whenever I had a query, customer service was always available to take my call.

One suggestion for improving the system would be to have a function where customers who buy tickets can be directed to share their purchase on Facebook or Twitter.

Comments: My amateur dramatic society have no need to look elsewhere in order to sell tickets for our annual pantomime. Should we have any questions or queries there is someone to come to our aid either by phone, online chat or email. The customer service personnel are very patient and helpful.
As someone who has limited understanding of technical knowhow I can get frustrated when trying to follow tutorials as there can be points that look simple enough but I get myself into difficulties. I seem to find things can't be completed as easily as TicketSource would think. I am someone who has to to have every move clearly explained and not assumed we know what to do - hence for me 3 Stars.

We try to strike a balance in the level of detail we provide in the tutorials, however "one-size-fits-all" will always have its limitations and one of the considerations already discussed at this end in relation to our upcoming website revamp is making it easier to find user instructions on specific processes. Comments: The TicketSource site is quite the best I have found for on-line booking for our shows. We are just starting to accept bookings on line and were very nervous about the things that could go wrong leaving our customers frustrated and angry. I am pleased to say that nothing like this has happened and the feedback we have had so far is very favourable. The reports that are readily available keep us in control of the sales and monitor their progress. The detailed financial reports and the prompt payment of receipts are a boon to our treasurer. I particularly like the way we can integrate the on-line sales with our over the counter sales as many of our older patrons are uneasy about using computers to buy things on-line.
The facilities in the software range from very simple to the most elaborate you could imagine.
I would not hesitate to recommend this site to any Amateur Groups.

Comments: I think Ticketsource is a very good website for amateur companies to use. The seating plan side of things is quite difficult to create but once you have the main template for your theatre its great that this is added top you account and reused.

The one aspect I find difficult is keeping on top of bookings made outside of ticketsource (i.e phone, at rehearsals) and then integrating those into the system so you don't over sell etc.

I don't know if it will be of interest but I'll just share what the ticket secretary of a local am dram group that I used to be a member of did to deal with the ticket requests at rehearsals etc. She instigated a "friends and family" discount code for online bookings so that the cast and crew just provided the discount code to their nearest and dearest. That little incentive discount drew most of those bookings online, lightening her load. It also had a cut off date a couple of weeks before the show, which encouraged earlier booking. Just an idea. Anyhow ¿thanks again for your support and for taking the time to review us.

Comments: We've been using TicketSource for a few years now for our amateur theatre, and have been very happy with the service. It's pretty simple to use, and a lot of extra functionality has been added since we started using it. Unlike Microsoft, however, they don't completely rewrite the interface every time they make a change! One of the unexpected side-effects of migrating to online ticketing is that, because they can see how many tickets are still available, our patrons often leave it to the last minute before booking, which gives some directors sleepless nights!
In our experience, customer service has been brilliant. We haven't experienced many problems, but any issues or questions raised have alway been dealt with very promptly, and the technical staff seem to very be open to sensible changes requested by their customers.

Comments: This is such a useful service for small organisations who want to sell tickets over the internet. We are a small amateur drama society who do no more than £4000 a year ticket revenue but find it is well worth while. It is very flexible and if you are reasonably comfortable with using the web it should not take more than an hour to learn how to use it.

The only cons
* To use it efficiently (so e.g. you are not copying out the same material frequently) takes a bit of time to master.

* It is not free. As a small organisation we pay 10% extra for the service which we make the customers pay. This is a fairly substantial increase although I can see that Ticketsource has to pay for their service somehow.

Pros: It is comprehensively able to take care of all of my needs.

Cons: My previous criticisms were answered satisfactorily by customer services.

Overall: Ticketsource has all the functionality I could possibly want from a ticketing site, and is user-friendly to boot. I run uk based events and find it far superior to any other ticketing site I've used. The fees are reasonable, especially for higher priced events. Would thoroughly recommend.

Recommendations to other buyers: No... use it, it's great.

Comments: I have been using ticket source on behalf of The Kings Hall and can say just how pleased I am with the service. It's very easy to use - customers have given great feedback and I've been able to edit events with no fuss. On a couple of occasions I have called the help line and they have been very quick to answer - no long waits which is so often the case with other companies and they have been able to advise and sort my question straight away. If I have to mention an improvement I would only say it would be good to see our events go out in their Twitter feeds occasionally. Overall, top marks!

Comments: I find you site easy to use once you know what you are doing but it would be nice if there is a guide on how to use Ticket Source. If there is already one, I couldn't find it so you might want to make it easily accessible especially when people first sign up.

Also, the charity I work for doesn't have a credit card so it's a bit more difficult for us to get the ticket paper. We can get it but only by ringing up and asking for an invoice. I did this but no invoice came so I had to chase it, which just added time onto my busy plate.

Comments: We've just used ticketsource for our first event and it was a fantastic experience for our admin users and our clients using it to book the event. Easy to setup, simple to use and it has some great features too. The only two improvements I would suggest is with the free scanning app for iOS and Android where it was sometimes a 'hit & miss'. The other improvement could be with the 'refund' process where one can only refund in full and part refund requires ringing in to their support rather than having to deal with it ourselves online. But overall it was an excellent experience for us and we will certainly be using them again! Highly recommended!

Comments: As a society we started using TicketSource a few years when we started our website.
We were told about it by another local company ( Concept Players ) and I was charged with finding out what they could for us. I went to the website and the site was simple and informative and within minutes I had all information for me to advise the committee about it. The commttee deceided to use them and I was instructed to to go ahead and I then went back to the website and within minutes I had arranged an account and it did not take long to get our tickets online. The tickets sell well and we can get all the information about our ticket sales and at the end of the sales period the money is transfered to our bank account with no fuss.
It would be fair to say that they offer a first class service with no fuss and if you need any help then it is only an email or phone call to get it sorted.

Comments: I researched reviews of on-line ticketing services before selecting TicketSource to sell beer festival tickets, based on the experience of other Campaign for Real Ale users. Even though I was a first time user of on-line ticketing, I was pleased by the ease with which I could set up details for the event. I used the system at a basic level but there is plenty of scope for more sophistication, for example, bar code scanning. Over 70% of our tickets were sold via TicketSource.

Pros: I could do almost anything I wanted. Reports were easy to generate. It was extremely easy to make alterations to people's bookings, or recover customer details. I needed one phone call at the start just to sort a couple of minor things, then it was really easy!

Cons: I had no real issues. From initial set up, I was not sure how the ticket booking fee would work, but one phone call sorted it out.

Comments: We decided to offer online booking to our audience members and found TicketSource by looking at the online service provision offered by other local amateur dramatic groups.

We made the right decision. Our audience have responded positively to our email marketing and a surprisingly high percentage of our older audience (Over 60's) have taken to ordering and paying for their tickets online despite certain of our members believing they would not be sufficiently I.T. literate to handle this "new fangled" method of booking their tickets. How wrong they were.

We have full control over the booking service and can output a wide range of excellent management reports which have been impressive when presented to members and Committee members.

Comments: Really useful resource for selling tickets to all manor of events (£ and free events). Easy to use, lots of flexibility: can set up offer codes and discounts, brand your page, summary reports etc. All the usual options for tickets, self print, post etc. inclusion of bar codes/QR codes and readers gives security as well.

Payments are always prompt. Recent addition of mailchimp option is really helpful.

Better functionality for customer details would improve the whole package, but that's only a minor point.

Comments: I did a bit of searching on the internet before eventually going with ticket source. You only know at the end of the process whether it was a good decision or not, and I can say now that I'm at the end, it was a good decision. I'm a fairly competent user of IT software and found my way around everything ok. I've marked it down to a very good 4 stars on 'ease of use' as I feel that it probably could be just a little bit more user friendly to people who aren't IT literate. The FAQ section is also very useful. I would recommend this to others and will also be using it again in the future.

Comments: Would have liked to have been involved in the chip an pin trial but never got a reply from you?
We are looking to use card machines and your trial would have let us trial if it would suit out group. Your programme is very easy to use. We don't have a huge audience but they are starting to use ticket source via our web site. The tickets people can have sent to them look very professional and those who used it were impressed. Being able to print ticket or have on phone has worked well with our audience and is used more at pantomtime time.

Comments: Some people thought we were wrong to sell our tickets online - it was the best decision, relatively straightforward but from the organisers point of view, easy and less time consuming.
We had a few issues setting out the different times and numbers - for example the penguins for little people and the disabled chairs - and have learned a lot for this year.
Yes, we will use them again - we now know where to get support and help.
The tickets looked lovely - we got them sponsored which helped towards the cost...2016 learning groove, 2017 learned!

Comments: Following the closure of our in-house box office, we needed to find a reputable ticket agent that could offer a cost-effective ticketing solution and whose software was continually updated in line with developing technologies.
Ticketsource provides all this.
The website and back office is very easy to navigate. Purchasing and selling tickets is a quick and painless process, and the software design very user-friendly.
The software provides real time reporting and the provision to sell tickets in-house when required.
The customer support is outstanding. Issues are resolved immediately and instruction when given is systematic, clear and precise.
I would recommend Ticketsource to any event organiser.

Comments: The website is easy to use and offers a comprehensive range of features. Some of our customers struggle to buy tickets when accessing the website from certain devices, though. It would be really helpful in it could be possible for customers to buy tickets from mobile devices as well as desk tops. It would also be helpful if we could arrange refunds when necessary, rather than having to email for support.

Comments: Overall I find Ticket Source excellent and find website integration very easy. An option or tick box of what events to be listed to the site would be an bonus as we like to great tickets for competition or complimentary tickets but if you create an event for free tickets they will automatically be listed on our website - I hope that makes sense.

A reduction in fees for non profit organisations or charities would also be a bonus and I'm aware of so many organisations looking for that cheaper ticket option.

Comments: We had to set up our own system in late summer following the closure of our previous outlet and as Ticket Source had come highly recommended to us by a smaller user we decided to try it. The system is easy to set up, even for the complicated ticketing systems we need for some venues. Once in place, it is easy to adjust and, more importantly, our end users find it easy to use. The reports are excellent and one key area we have never been able to look at in detail before is our marketing. We are now able to target the right places for marketing our events to ensure maximum take-up of tickets. Overall we are very happy with our first few months of using Ticket Source

Outdoor event using downloaded database and scanner

Comments: The event sold around 200 tickets with differing values.
We knew that the customers would all arrive in a short period of time so we opted to buy a scanner and use this linked to a downloaded customer database on a laptop.
The system worked fine for 10mins then started to freeze but with a reset worked again. This occurred several times. I'm not sure if it was the laptop or scanner/connection that was at fault but without doing another event will not know.
That aside, the system worked well and the ticket that I made purposely void was met with a loud refusal bleep.
Overall the system is good and kept a large sum of money in electronic transfers rather than cash on the gate.
Recommended.

Comments: Very happy with the software and the enhancements that come out from time to time. Also appreciate the ability to be able to influence new features using the feedback sections.
Web based so there are the usual problems that that technology creates - occasional speed issues (could be anywhere in the loop) and print difficulties; but balances by no hassle looking after the system and no hassle updates.
Brilliant support people on the few occasions I have needed it. No thought of going elsewhere.

Comments: Having battled for a two year period selling my tickets on an international ticketing website I decided that the options for our customers and the time it took to upload our events was not sustainable.
We had used ticketsource for one of our very large events and it worked well and we have now migrated all of our ticketed events on to ticketsource. The system is intuitive, straightforward, easy to use, understand, based in the UK and the costs are cheaper for the customer too.
I have been contacted by a few other ticket sites to try their product but the service and product offered by ticketsource delivers exactly what we need and the customer can use easily.

Comments: We have no ticket office other than very limited hours in the Council Office in Ledbury. The majority of our tickets are sold through TicketSource and some through a mobile phone that we man ourselves. We have had very few problems and the helpline has been very helpful when we have. The TicketSource website is not mobile phone friendly and we have asked if a mobile phone App could be developed but I understand there are no plans to do so at present. Otherwise it works extremely well for us.

Comments: The one function that i believe is missing from the package is the ability to communicate effectively with our customers. We should be able to use the system and the data that is collected to communicate effectively with our audiences . Overall the booking system works effectively , the only issue we have is trying to to check the seats that are allocated by name and it is very difficult and long winded to establish this

Pros: Useful reporting, quick and easy booking features and settings are easy to amend and use. Useful add ons such as wristbands and E-tickets, which is very helpful.

Cons: Not much in the way of 'cons'. I wish there was a summary sales report that broke the information down in one swift form. Including : Open Tickets, Sold, Comps, Unpaid.

Comments: We love TicketSource at WTG. It's easy to use, we can put on special offers easily, we get comprehensive reports and we can set up events using our template in minutes.
The charges are at a brilliantly competitive rate, we've found ticketsource to be very helpful with event problems (on our end!) and we love that there's no charge on our cash/cheque sales!
We are also a fan of the publicity functions e.g. we can drop all email adresses (of those who have agreed to receive marketing) into a CSV file and it takes just seconds to mailshot an email publicising our latest event or sale!
All in all I don't think we will ever use another company now. Thankyou TicketSource!

Comments: All I can say is this is the best service I have ever come across in and I have tried a few for it's easiness it's cost effectiveness and the ability to call upon somebody instantly for the one little problem that I did have amazing. Hundred percent five stars. If you are choosing between another company and this one - you will end up coming to this one eventually because it is just too good so you might as well just come here straight away.

Comments: We are a small An-Dram group based in East Hamphire We have used Ticket Source now for a number of recent productions; they provide exactly the service we require and we have had problems with them. Our audiences, when booking direct, get a seamless professional service and our administrators all find the website easy to use. The reporting system is excellent and having a day to day review of ticket sales enables us to target our marketing where it is needed.
One minor quibble: The "Next" , "Print tickets"and "Back" buttons are placed at the bottom of each page and can be missed. We had two customers who didn't realise they had to print their own tickets and we had rather fussed 'phone calls.

Comments: Used the site to sell tickets for my one time event in London. It was easy to use and the customer service was great. The fees are lower than other similar sites,
The only thing I would have wanted would be a choice to make the event site a lot more attractive. I will be repeating the event this year and will definitely be using this site again!

Comments: We are a small amateur theatre company and stage one open air production per year. In the past we only ever offered the option of paying on the door, but we started using TicketSource a few years ago and since then we have seen advance ticket sales grow year on year.

This helps ensure people turn up and gives us an idea of income in advance, which is extremely useful.

The site is easy to use and payments due to the group are made very quickly after the close of the event. We would highly recommend the service.

Comments: Easy to use, very user friendly. Helpdesk are really responsive and can soon diagnose any issues you may be having. Would be useful to have better options when doing refunds or exchanges, i.e. being able to exchange different ticket types over various dates and refunding the difference...

Pros: Easy to set up in the first instance, very easy to operate both from a customers point of view and from an administrative point of view. Easily amendable and controllable for an admin, if changes needed to be made and on top of that, paid out extremely quickly.

Comments: The purchase process is cumbersome for our patrons. The site hangs at the point of purchase locking up tickets at the worst time as people make multiple attempts. Many, many, many fields and dates reflect London standards and not the US. Specifically, reporting draws inaccurate information because it will juxtapose the month and day. So will searching. Great features, good pricing, but a very buggy platform.

Comments: We are a small theatre, entirely run by volunteers, with 80 seats for 50+ events a year. I am very happy to give help and advice to any potential customers with similar theatres. We transferred to Ticketsource 3 years ago and have seen our online ticket sales increase to about 60%. This saves a huge amount of volunteer time in dealing with ticket sales. The support has been first class with prompt replies to emails and fixes for most of the problems and individual requests eg for membership numbers to be included. We started off using the system for free for 3 months, getting used to the system with our volunteers, before going online for customers once we were used to it and then paying the booking fees. Comments: We've used Ticket Source for our concerts for a couple of years now and have found that online bookings have increased steadily . The site is easy to use and customer support is friendly and very helpful - not that you'll need it very often. The fees they put on tickets aren't outrageous and we also used them for a free concert we offered because they don't charge anything for ticketing these! Shortly after the event, the money appears in our bank account and always tallies with ticket sales.

Comments: We are a small private community theatre and it was not envisaged that it would be used by many of our patrons, but after a small number of years, we have greatly increased use online, and the charges are reasonable, I do wish some of the better known venues would use this service, as recently I booked to see an Andre Rieu performance, and in addition to the high card fees, I had to pay delivery on the tickets, so, I opted to collect from the box office, but was charged an identical fee to the deliver charge, as a collection fee, come on promoters, switch to ticketsource..

Comments: I have used Ticketsource on a number of occasions. Some with individually numbered seating other simply with a number of available seats.

The overall product is good, resilient and more than adequate. I haven't always found the software a naturally intuitive product but have learned to get round it.

Funds come through quickly after the event and data about the audience are readily available.

I have recommended Ticketsource to other organisations

Comments: We began using TicketSource about 18 months ago after having used a competitor for a couple of years. TicketSource is great giving you a great deal of flexibility - far more than we, a small local amateur dramatic society, need! Ticket sales are easy for our clients, and we receive a daily sales list to keep us up to date with how they are going. We then get a compilation list for each evening to use in the box office. I wish all our clients would use TicketSource, it's easier for us than selling tickets ourselves or through local outlets!

Comments: Fantastic service with a sensibly designed and easy to use the system. Excellent re-tweeting as well much appreciated.

Only small suggestion for improvement would be the ability to edit multiple items (for example if you want to change the pricing of a category being able to do this in one rather than go through each date and change).

Comments: Better than most alternative systems because it allow seat plans to be created that are roughly to scale, with angled seats. Customers have to choose a seat price before seeing the plan which I don't like, but otherwise the customer experience is OK. The system can also handle thermal ticket printing which I haven't tried (we just use emailed tickets and there's no internet access at the door) but might be very useful for some.

My main issue is the commission charges, which add up to hundreds of pounds for us so we have used an alternative self-hosted system (Stageshow WordPress plugin) instead.

Comments: I had spent ages trying to work with MusicGlue, but found it very difficult to get exactly what I needed. Eventually I gave up and tried TicketSource as a last resort, not expecting to solve the issues I was having. I was amazed at how intuitive TicketSource was. I had spent literally days toiling with MusicGlue, but I set up my TicketSource event and started selling tickets within a couple of hours! I will definitely use TicketSource for all my events in the future and would recommend TicketSource to anyone.

Comments: On the whole it's really good. Ticket bookings (ie when they are paid for) works better than reservations. When I reserve tickets it doesn't always send a "reservation e-mail" to those making the reservation and it is difficult to change a reservation to a confirmed booking. I now get around it by completely cancelling the reservation and starting a new booking, this does however make the reports a little confusing and take a little more time than I would like. Your customer service team is spot on though. They are great.

Comments: The system is great and way out ahead of other ticketing systems in terms of ease of use, access to information and being able to present a good fresh interface for customers and as a back office.

The team have been very responsive in terms of dealing with queries on the phone and web chat for support and all questions answered. They have been very responsiive to development suggestions and have even built a few of my requests into the product (in a matter of days!).

I'd place it as the number 1 system to look at if you are thinking of using a ticketing system.

Comments: As a regular event organiser I have used several ticketing companies over the years, I have settled on TicketSource because it offers me a complete solution to ticket sales; whether I want to sell tickets from my website or social media or whether I want to offer a telephone or postal booking service - TicketSource does it all.
It's a very easy to use but fully featured 'front end' but if I do get into difficulties there is plenty of help available online or on the phone, the customer service is excellent.
TicketSource are constantly improving the features and have recently provided integration with MailChimp. I can't speak highly enough of them!

Comments: The app seems to drain device power at an incredible rate. But other then that a great app. Was very impressed with all the features, being able to sell your own tickets and having them all on the same spreadsheet for ease and speed front of house. Back of house reports were quite comprehensive for what we needed them for.

Comments: Over the years I've used several websites to provide ticketing for small scale events I've been involved in. TicketSource is by far the best solution. The interface is fairly intuitive. Creating new events, for a play with numbered seating, a cinema screening or a poetry event with more casual attendance was straightforward and the results were attractive. It was easy to interface the site with our theatre website via HTML code. It is also excellent for filtering the customer data for marketing purposes.

Comments: I really like Ticketsource, and find it very functional and user-friendly. Two improvements I'd suggest:
1. It can be difficult to get the FOH report to the venue. An emailable PDF would be ideal, rather than having to print stuff from screen.
2. It would be good to have a secret ticket link function, where you can sell tickets at a discounted price, but have them invisible to regular punters. We find that having a password-protected cheaper price is annoying to full-price customers, so we'd rather it was invisible to them.

Comments: It is a user-friendly system for customers, and the process of money transfer for organizers is great. Setting up events in the first place is a little quirky, but it's easy to get past this. A demo thermal ticket app for Mac would be brilliant

Comments: Site is very easy to use, easy to navigate and get event set up (I'm fairly good with computers but not a total whizz and this is the first event I'd ever run).
I like that there are lots of customisable options and that I could put my event "stamp" on it, so my audience felt involved before the night - they were buying tickets from me, not a generic site. Customer service was good, I didn't have any issues to report but just after I set up the event, I got a call advising of some other options I could use within the event page for ticketing (which was very useful!) Other producers I know have decided to use TicketSource based on my experience and I will definitely use them again for my next show :)

Comments: We sometime have customers tell us that the transactions buttons are not visible on their screen, it is too low to show. We usually have the same problem but the slider bar allows us to scroll down - annoying but not a show stopper.

Also could do with a mobile compatible version of the website.

Otherwise great product that makes our life a lot easier.

Comments: Does what it promises.
Editing entries is harder than it needs to be. I never click on the correct menu option the first time - definitely not intuitive to anyone other than the writer of the software. This would be less frustrating if I used the system more often but with only a couple of events a year I have to learn the quirks again each time.

Comments: Used Ticketsource for all our ticketing for past 3 years. Brilliantly designed, its ease of use both for the venue operator and online for customers is outstanding. Customer support is the best I've had from ANY software/IT supplier. In my years as a venue manager I've operated numerous ticketing systems including BOCS (!), Databox, ENTA, and others. Ticketsource is streets ahead of them all!

The most important thing for me is the customer service. When ever I have had a problem, you can get quickly through to a very helpful, real person, who understands the system and is more than willing to listen to what you have a problem and comes up with the solution or answer to your issues. Comments: My only negative is: we usually have a different layout in our auditorium for each of our 5 plays and we offer a password early booking week for members. This means that for each block of seats (typically 3 and sometimes more) there is a lot of setting up for each production. A way of making this easier would be great. Otherwise a great product and great support whenever needed.

Comments: Once I'd taken a good look round the system I found it all very straightforward. And whenever I've been unsure I've had a speedy reply to my query. It's great that I can brand our sales pages to match the website - that gives people real confidence as they buy tickets for our events. All in all, Ticketsource is fantastic.

Comments: I work on the box office as a volunteer for our theatre and am not particularly "technical" but find the system easy to use. I've also tried online booking and couldn't find much wrong with that either. A few of our customers have reported problems printing their e-tickets but I can't comment on that.

Sadly any time you are reliant on customers' home printers, there's that potential. The other thing to look out for is where the booking confirmation email gets caught in their spam filter. Thankfully those issues are pretty rare, and easy for our support staff to resolve quickly.

Comments: Several local theatre groups have taken our lead and now also use TicketSource. It's so easy, even for the non-techie. The printing is so simple and reliable, bookings can be made by anyone you give access to it (all our members booking their's and their families tickets themselves) and it even has a simple CRM system inbuilt now. Great, just great.
We hide the credit card charge in our ticket fee to encourage online sales and although they started slowly we now see 30-50% of sales going through the service. It costs us a little more but we're too small to have a dedicated booking office person so it's ideal.

Comments: As a long time established pantomime group we have been stuck in our ways for many years running a manual cash/cheque based ticket sales system. We decided to explore online ticket sales this year after a rise in non collected & non paid for tickets and also move into the 21st century! We cannot fault ticket source in any way! The support we have received for little niggles & how to's has been exceptional on the odd occasion we have had to ring them we are always greeted by a very friendly, knowledge member of staff who couldn't do anymore for you!

Functionality has been great! Could recommend it any more highly! Keep up the good work guys, exceptional product.

Comments: This is the first time we have used an outside agency to sell tickets for our Festival. As the Box Office manager I have found it brilliant. It's quick, easy to use and every query I've had has been answered simply and straightforwardly. Everything I thought might be an obstacle just wasn't!

Our first event is next week, and we'll see how the system works after that - hopefully nobody sitting on each other's laps.

I cannot comment on any other aspect of the system, such as finance reports etc, but so far I think it's terrific.

Comments: Ticketsource is, on the whole, easy to use in order to add concert details and update any changes to details as necessary. I'm not so happy with the recently slightly changed formats of the Daily Summary sent by email but am getting used to that. If I've encountered any problems, technical or otherwise, customer support is excellent - helpful, speedy and efficient.

Comments: TicketSource has been simply superb. The service has taken the hassle out of managing our box office and online sales now make up a significant proportion of bookings. The website is straightforward to use and on the odd occasion where it has been required, help is never far away. It is refreshing to find a company wanting to help you out so much, you genuinely feel like a valued customer. Highly recommended!

Pros: I have not done anything like this before and was a bit nervous but it was so straightforward and easy to use.I liked being able to check the ticket sales and was simple to do refunds.

Comments: I use TicketSource about 6 times a year for selling tickets online for concerts. The site is very good, it is generally very simple to see how to set a concert up. The fees are very reasonable and the money gets paid without fail promptly after the event. The 'Help' facility is good and the customer service is excellent. I got a phone call from them a few days after I registered simply to see if everything was ok and to make a connection with me. That was a good personal touch. I have recommended TicketSource to several friends who now use them for their own events.

This is a big market and I know with a few tweaks you could open up more opportunities.
Example instead of door opening times could provide coach pick up points

Comments: There's a choice when considering who you should trust with your external ticket sales. However TicketSource initially explained everything in an easy to following format and in over three years as a customer they've never disappointed.
They are constantly improving their product and updating customers with a regular newsletter. On the very few times I've needed to contact the support team whether by email or phone my query has been dealt with in a prompt and efficient manner.
TicketSource are a company that I would have no hesitation in recommending.

Cons: Reports selection is poor. We were mailing our own tickets and to do the weekly mailing I had to download two reports into Excel, join using VLOOKUP and then manually check as the address report does not have the customer reference and if there are two people with the same surname the address reports sorts differently to the sales report.

Overall: The ability to easily sell tickets online

Thanks for the great review Colin, sorry you struggled with our reporting. We've designed it so we handle as much as possible and this makes it tricky when organisers want to fulfil their own orders! But watch this space, reporting is getting an overhaul next year.

Comments: I found they system a little difficult to understand until I had the guidance of the support staff. Following that was less of a problem but I still found some of the menus in terms of ticket display a little confusing. The search for a gig on the customer site is not always foolproof as well

Comments: Delighted with ticketsource, which I find extremely user friendly and simple to use. I have now converted our local theatre, our local music concert organisation, and our local festival to on-line ticketing through ticketsource. The other organisations involved like it. There's no registration for purchasers, one-off events can be easily included, and amendments to events are easy to do. The reporting system is fine, and moneys are paid efficiently.
All told a very satisfactory product.

Comments: Could be simplified for ease of use.
It would be good if free places didn't have to pay a booking fee. We want to include free spaces on at our events so they are accessible, but if folk still have to input credit card details etc. and pay a fee it doesn't really work.

Overall: Amazing ease of use even for me - who can't even do Facebook - brillent customer service - value for money, I just wish infoind these guys earlier.

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't bother searching for another piece of software. This one does it all and so easy.

Comments: I think it is a good way for people to book tickets and it is easy for a user to go through the process. i just wish that the printing go tickets option was still available as not having that is a bit of problem.

Comments: We are a small singing group using a small local theater for our performances. We sell most of our tickets via TicketSource and have found their system invaluable, especially for a small group like ours with few resources. The system is easy to use, both for us as a group, and for our audience, and we now wonder how we managed without it in the past.

Comments: We have used Ticketsource for 2 annual music festivals held in October, in Buckinghamshire. We were able to set up the venues and events with minimal support from Ticketsource. The system enabled an initial 'in house' box office followed by online and telephone provided by Ticketsource. Support from Ticketsource was easily available on the phone, in a user friendly fashion.

Comments: Ticketsource provide a very intuitive and easy to use system that was a perfect partnership for our theatre group. It allows a great deal of control and provides brilliant reporting facilities that we have found very useful for managing and analysing our events. The merchant/sales service is great for an organisation like ours where setting up our own online merchant service is impractical. The Ticketsource team have always been on hand should we need any questions answering or help with the system.

Comments: TicketSource offer a great service. We chose them because we operate reserved seating at several different venues and the programme allows you to create seating plans. All their staff are knowledgeable and helpful and don't make you feel an idiot! There is quite a lot to learn at first, but the it gets easier. We are now finding the reports on sales and who purchases very useful. Thank you TicketSource!
