The Customer Care team is top notch and has a clear onboarding program for customers that is direct and easy to understand. As mentioned, the fact that ExpertFile builds most of the content pages (Expert Profiles) is a big value-add for customers. ExpertFile understands the SEO value of the content they publish and they can provide tremendous expertise in this area. With the expanded product offering, there are many upsides to using the ExpertFile platform as part of the content marketing mix. Pros \- ExpertFile does the heavy lifting, writing biographies, assembling the assets, and building the individual profiles (at a very reasonable price -- lower than you might expect) - product is easy to use; adding new members is a simple process; publishing new (optimized)content takes minutes - customer care team works with customers to make recommendations and manage updates - exposure to media (for Public Relations) through Associate Press is a major benefit to users Cons \- better analytics native to the content would be nice (can be managed through tools like Google Tag Manager, but would be better if this was native) - custom tagging of content is limited (but ExpertFile says this will be resolved in the future) - support for structured data is limited, would be nice to see custom schema support in the future Alternatives considered [WordPress](https://www.capterra.com/p/131687/WordPress/)[Umbraco CMS](https://www.capterra.com/p/210590/Umbraco-CMS/) Reason for choosing ExpertFile ExpertFile was the best best fit as it is offered as a SaaS model. Pros ExpertFile not only helps us get our faculty experts onto the radar of memebers of the media, it also keeps us thinking about that aspect of our jobs as a top priority. One of the biggest struggles is building a maintaining an in-house system. It often takes months or years to develop a system -- and as soon as the system is built, the technology changes and something new is required. Also, the time it would normally take to compile data and write engaging profiles for each faculty member is daunting. ExpertFile takes away all of this angst. They've built a user-friendly platform that is customized to our university. They employ a staff of writers who take the first crack at writing and editing the profiles. When technology changes, so does ExpertFile -- taking those challenges off our shoulders. Their simple-to-use Spotlight feature and their easy-to-edit profiles have freed up more time for us to do the important work of recruiting and training faculty experts. And faculty appreciate the look of the profiles, which make them (and us!) look good. Pros It needs to be said that the ExpertFile software is an innovative and positive game-changer for the "experts" industry. The integration of this professional software into our daily push to position experts has been worth every penny. But the true magic comes from the ExpertFile team. Their responsiveness and their customer service is among the best I've ever experienced -- and that service starts at the top. They've never ignored an email and always return phone calls. They've taken nearly every ounce of feedback I've shared and worked with me and our team to make our experience the best it can be. Their innovation and problem-solving skills have helped us to be more competitive, driven more media inquiries, and taken what used to be hours of work and cut that down to mere minutes. I can't say enough about the ExpertFile team. Cons ExpertFile continues to work on its analytics and is always looking for ways to improve in this area. Building IFAs Expert Centre around our priorities including healthy ageing, ageism and age discrimination, addressing inequities, adult vaccinations and eye health (to name a few) positions us to powerfully communicate the most up to date evidence in a timely manner. Profiling our thought leaders builds their reputation, but that's not the only reason IFA invested in ExpertFile. Our Expert Centre grows almost by itself because thought leaders want to be contactable in an easy but organised manner; and be influential in their respective fields. The software and its applications are accessible to all people regardless of their competency levels. Customer support is excellent, timely, efficient and effective. ExpertFile cares about their clients and helps them maximize opportunities. Cons ExpertFile is not time consuming but requires an investment that pays back 100 fold. February 5, 2020 5.0 Pros There are so many things about ExpertFile that make it the best expert database management tool I've found. First of all, customer service is king. They go above and beyond to help you set up and maintain the database. It's easy to use and update. Integrations to our website are seamless. Journalists are using it regularly to find sources for their stories. I couldn't be happier. Cons Honestly, I haven't found anything I didn't like. If there is a feature you feel like is missing, the representatives and technical teams work hard to implement if it's on their road map. I've never had an issue with ExpertFile. We get emails from our account reps weekly on opportunities and responses to questions we have within an hour. Pros I really like how the end-product looks (faculty profiles) and how there are multiple ways to promote experts through spotlights, social media, etc. Cons I almost feel like there are too many options to customize profiles.
