### "Solid Site Builder"

January 22, 2024

4.0

Squarespace is overall a very fast, smooth and easy to use platform - perfect for companies or brands looking to develop a professional presence without needing coding or development.

Pros

Squarespace is an excellent no-code site builder. It has an easy to use visual editor making it flexible to create aesthetically layouts without constraint. It's quick and easy to start a site with a range of starting templates but can easily be adapted and expanded as your brand grows.

Cons

The settings list can be somewhat overwhelming when editing branding of theme settings due to the amount of options and how it's laid out. Greater visual heirarchy could help improve users navigation.

### "Squarespace the best web designing tool"

February 27, 2024

4.0

Pros

Squarespace stands as a beacon of simplicity and power in the realm of website creation and management. As a user who values both aesthetics and functionality, I found Squarespace to be an exceptional platform that caters to the needs of beginners and professionals alike, offering a seamless experience from start to finish.

Cons

While Squarespace is known for its user-friendly interface, there can still be a learning curve, particularly for users who are new to website building or design. Some features may require time to fully grasp, and users may need to invest time in learning the platform's intricacies.

### "Squarespace has all the tools for running a business website"

January 20, 2024

4.0

Pros

The easiest thing about Squarespace is how simple it is to arrange the components needed to create a professional, effective, and well-designed website. It takes some time and practice to become proficient with the software and tools, but once you do, the creative element comes naturally. Since I've been using it for the past three years, I constantly eagerly await using it.

Cons

It has been difficult to set up a hosted domain name and/or switch from another website. There were instances when Squarespace provided instructions for transferring domain names that differed from the actual step required.

### "Great for basic websites but complicated for more advanced websites"

May 30, 2024

4.0

Pros

Squarespace is great to get a decent basic website up and quickly. The website builder is pretty easy to learn. They have lots of templates and layouts for you to pick and choose from.

Cons

You can’t add your own brand fonts without css making it hard for basic users to maintain brand consistency. The same goes for the layouts, if you want something outside of the grid or want advanced features you have to resort to code.

### "SquareSpace helps me on our website"

June 14, 2023

4.0

SquareSpace has been extraordinary for storing a website and having a blog. Within internet commerce, it may possibly make use of certain refinements. It is surprisingly intuitive and compassionate, and anyone can use it. It eliminates the need to learn coding or possess a good sense of design. I won't say it's an uncomplicated surface, however, it's very likely to make you feel that way.

Pros

SquareSpace technical support is about the sovereign. The live chat conversation + the active email response make it again an experience of great sustenance. I love the simplicity with which it is possible to create a page with a dynamic structure, combining the different component possibilities, among them are integrations with social networks and photo galleries. The templates alone have saved a huge amount of time, energy and money, which is very intuitive and perfectly designed for someone who doesn't have a lot of design experience and doesn't know how to code.

Cons

For the program, we have a fairly large section of events and, from time to time, it contains more than thirty events. We have created a shortened version of the calendar below the calendar that will present the most important events in a more attractive way, as the calendar function is not very nice to look at. We would like to see more calendar display possibilities, plus the maximum limit of closing components to be displayed increased from 30 to untamable.

### "Proprietary Platform - Not Recommended"

April 1, 2024

3.0

I only use it when a client has already bought it and doesn't want to move the site, and asks for my help. My preference is to immediately move their website onto WordPress, copy the content, reformat it and move on.

Pros

It's a good option for someone who has no to little expertise in building a website. For a one-person startup, it's cost effective.

Cons

Proprietary platforms are not something I recommend to any client. The lack of control, the ability to move your content elsewhere easily, the lack of a testbed, the inability to customize some of the code, the fact that you are bound by their terms of service rather than your own are just a few reasons I don't recommend it for anyone serious about building a business online.

Alternatives considered

[WordPress](https://www.capterra.com/p/131687/WordPress/)

Reason for choosing Squarespace

I didn't. Sometimes a client has bought Squarespace and I have to use it. But WordPress is a much better website builder and content management system. Not WordPress.com, which is similar to using Squarespace. Getting your own hosting and installing the free WordPress software is much better. Keep in mind, I built my first website in 1996. I've used a lot of platforms.

### "A powerful website building solution"

August 8, 2023

4.0

Squarespace has been a strong tool for my photography business. It's allowed me to easily create and update a portfolio website. While there are some customization limits I've been happy with Squarespace overall for years;

Pros

Squarespace offers great design templates, a user-friendly interface, and buit-in, reliable features. Gone are the days of dealing with plugins, updates and other headaches that come with some other tools.

Cons

I've run into some customization limitations, their update to the most current version was far from seamless, requiring customers to rebuild their sites rather than be upgradeable. There are cheaper options out there for sure as well.

Alternatives considered

[Webflow](https://www.capterra.com/p/136159/Webflow/)

Reason for choosing Squarespace

I like the end design of many webflow projects but it didn't seem as easy to build and manage on a day to day basis.

### "The Best, Most Affordable Professional Website Builder Available"

May 11, 2023

5.0

This platform is a no brainer in my opinion. For any small-medium sized businesses, you cannot find a better platform.

Pros

I love Squarespace's accessibility and flexibility. As a web designer, I have used Squarespace for a large number of websites for clients and I am pleased every single time. It is hard to find a better, more affordable, website builder that provides what Squarespace provides.

Cons

Some of the features require a higher level of subscription, which is a little more expensive, but that is a very small complaint. The other is more in depth as a designer myself: the process of inputting additional code for special touches is a little finicky, but once you learn how to it isn't a huge issue.

### "Squarespace Review by Mike Tonga"

December 9, 2022

5.0

Although there have been some cons towards Squarespace, my overall experience has been great. One of the best features of the software, is its price. Unlike other software programs that require loads of money to start off or to go premium, Squarespace provides a suitable price that all small businesses can manage. The websites that can be made from this software look great if made correctly and function as any website would.

Pros

One of the main things I liked about this was its user-friendly interface, which made it easier to make the website. Another would be the wide variety of templates offered.

Cons

The only disadvantage of this software is the lack of customizability given to the creator of the website. You can only customize the templates preset rows. Plus the fact that it cannot autosave, but will suggest you to manually save after changes.

Switched from

[Wix](https://www.capterra.com/p/169007/Wix/)

Although Squarespace is cheaper, the interface of Wix is just more comfortable. Main reason being that it allows you to make a website with its own AI technology, in which you just select which template you want and where you want your information to be. The support offered at Wix also greatly surpasses that of Squarespace. There are more resources to that are provided and help can be found easily on the app, with videos to help even more. I just feel like I can make more quality websites with Wix rather than Squarespace.

Well, overall, I could say that my experience using squarespace has been satisfying.

Pros

The website has been setup in Squarespace for years now. It’s not the best but it’s not so bad that I want to change websites.

Pros

Aesthetically the website looks great and it’s simple to choose an awesome template.

Cons

Editing the website can be challenging with the non-intuitive tools.

### "Squarespace: Giving a Space for Every Creative"

August 25, 2023

4.0

My overall experience with Squarespace has been efficient and consistent with my needs. A must-try for creatives out there!

Pros

Web design and customization that’s easy to navigate is one of my most liked feature about Squarespace. This gives an avenue for a creative like myself to put our own branding online. Love this!

Cons

I think what irks me about my usage of Squarespace is the expense of the subscription. But this gets compensated by the great service it offers. Definitely, still a win-win for creatives and Squarespace.

### "Streamlined Website Creation and Management for Modern Businesses and Creatives"

May 10, 2023

5.0

Squarespace provides templates and customization options that make it easy for me to create personal websites or online portfolios to showcase my art. It offers a variety of design options, including layouts, galleries, and media integration, allowing you to present your content in an attractive and organized manner.

Pros

Squarespace excels at handling media content. You can showcase high-quality images, embed videos, and create stunning galleries to display your work or products. The platform ensures that media is displayed beautifully and optimized for different devices. It offers the tools and flexibility to design a visually appealing and functional website.

Cons

I feel that the options for creating custom navigation menus and structures could be expanded. i will like more flexibility in organizing and designing navigation menus to suit their specific website needs.

### "Sehr Nutzerunfreundlich"

November 1, 2023

2.0

### "Squarespace isn’t so bad!"

June 11, 2023

4.0

Pros

What attracts me the most to square space is the ease of use, helpful customer service and the perk of it coming with google workspace. If you are a new organization and know that you’ll need more assistance with the platform at some point I’d choose Squarespace for the customer service experience alone.

Cons

My two cons with squarespace are that you cannot add the email campaign to your monthly payment option. When you’re a new organization on a budget being up-charged for critical services seems like a cash grab. Finally, no stock photo gallery. Obviously you can source and use the internet for stock photos but it would be easier to know that “cleared” images are available to you with your subscription.

### "A Trustworthy Website"

March 19, 2024

4.0

Good intro to websites. Not fully capable in the multi-currency arena.

Pros

I like the easy of use of SquareSpace, and the thoughtfulness of their integrations. Having the eCommerce engine and a calendar integrated has made things very easy for me.

Cons

The thing I like least about SquareSpace is how locked down the templates are when it comes to currency. It has been very difficult for me to provide a clear currency experience as I have people who buy internationally and there is no where to add the currency to an invoice.
