### "For simple website design and amangement look no further."

June 3, 2023

4.0

I think squarespace is great. For a non technical user what this provides me with is a very simple and quick way of developing and managing an attractive website with all the functionality needed.

Pros

Squarespace makes designing and managing your website simple. Making edits, implementing redesigns are quick and easy to complete. This was the main reason we switched as we wanted anybody to be able to manage the website with no need for technical web skills.

Cons

Sometimes the way things work are not intuitive, they remain easy, but initially the way to achieve something is not always obvious. Additionally Squarespace in my opinion is not designed for high end, high functionality websites so for some the service may be limited.

### "Best SaaS provider for Beginner Bloggers"

May 29, 2022

5.0

Email and Content have been my main strength and selling orders. With Squarespace I can build a skeleton in few seconds. Add the content and changes the design in the backend and simply push the content to my email subcribers easily.

Pros

Easy to create a website within seconds. Change the templates and design with few clicks. Email management to gather subscribers for 2x conversion. Content management done easily between creators and managers. Best CMS to work on limited sites.

Cons

Navigation options are difficult to move. Cost for small bloggers is little high. Platform has fierce competition

### "SquareSpace: Web Design for Non Web-Designers"

December 6, 2022

4.0

SquareSpace is a balance of ease of use and feature availability. Many more advanced web design programs and services would allow for greater customization, which in turn allow for better control over things like site speed and style - but also are much harder to use. For a beginner, or a company that cannot hire a dedicated webmaster, SquareSpace is an excellent platform to host and design a website.

Pros

SquareSpace is designed with user friendliness and ease of access in mind. It is extremely easy to pick up and use, and it is entirely possible to create a custom, professionally built website, within your first hour of picking it up. Its newest version has a drag and drop feature that dramatically improves on the old version, using a grid to position elements. This is hands-down the easiest way to design a site, and the reason that my company uses SquareSpace.

Cons

SquareSpace is difficult to optimize for speed, which has been a consistent problem for our site. While there are ways to improve it, we are not able to speed it up to the point we would like. It's important to note that our site is not slow, it is just not as fast as other sites we see.

### "Squarespace is wonderful to take my business to the highest level."

July 25, 2022

5.0

We find Squarespace as a web builder to be just great, regardless of your skill level or the type of website you want to create. Focusing especially on designs and their very effective versatility, which you can check on your own when you buy it.

Pros

The Squarespace tool offers a wide selection of exquisitely designed templates that span a diverse spectrum of styles and industries. drawing the attention of the client or viewer instantly, producing a positive effect on your website. Another of its advantages is that its templates can be adapted to devices such as tablets and mobile phones, without having to create versions to use smart devices. Another particularity is that it allows you a 14-day trial period, so that you can decide in this period of time if it is convenient or not to acquire it.

Cons

Perhaps a disadvantage could be that it does not have the manual editor function for mobile devices.

### "Best in class product by far for several years now"

June 25, 2021

5.0

I teach classes on digital marketing and entrepreneurship and ask my students to build a website without coding within a week that looks professional and generate sales from their website. SquareSpace has always helped them build a best in class product. The website we have built quickly to get our companies started have resonated well with investors and everyone always compliments the look and feel of our sites.

Pros

I have used SquareSpace for over 5 years now, using the platform to build a minimum viable product before scaling to custom built websites, to putting up new websites that look extremely professional very quickly. Everyone who looks at the websites are impressed with how they look, not knowing it only took a few minutes to build. They continue to add functionality over the years. They have a great dedication to customer service as well that responds quickly.

Cons

Moving some objects around was not always as intuitive as I thought they could be. If there are a tremendous amounts of data on a screen it may be slower to edit than it always was. Very minor bugs discovered on rare occasions. Just nitpicking, wonderful product.

### "Not the best "

July 31, 2022

4.0

Overall I do not recommend. I changed to Shopify because it’s easy to use. Also I find their customer service friendly and helpful.

Pros

I liked that they had a variety of website layouts and a lot of ways to customize your website. But I did find it overwhelming to a point. When there’s too much information it gets muddled without clear instructions to complete the processes.

Cons

Where do I start? I don’t like how clunky going into each section is. The interface is not user friendly and jumbled. It takes way too long to set up everything. Even uploading each item is a tedious process and cryptic. The user manual videos are not helpful and I had to hire an expert to help me.

### "Squarespace remains my top choice, but just barely. "

September 7, 2018

5.0

I used to build my own sites - first manually then through Wordpress. I used to have a lot of security issues. Multiple hacks and breaches. Lost sites and downtime. I haven't lost a wink of sleep over a website since I signed up for Squarespace. For me, that's worth the money I pay. The software is beautiful, slick and simple (once you understand it - it's a bit quirky). But the cost keeps rising while other, cheaper options keep getting better. I still love Squarespace, but it's increasingly tough to recommend based on price.

Pros

Squarespace is easy to set up (a site can be completed in an hour or less if you have all the info you need ready to go). Once a site is live, it rarely has any issues, becomes visible on Google fairly quickly, and there are no security worries to deal with as everything is hosted on THEIR servers, not mine. The templates are the best in the business and it's difficult to make a Squarespace site look ugly. Not impossible of course, but tough :) Drag and drop interface is great and integrations abound.

Cons

Squarespace has become increasingly expensive, moving more and more features to higher and higher tiers. Their e-commerce options are great for a simple store with few product options, but you cannot change the image of a product when a customer selects a variation of that product - like a different colour of shift, for example. This was a deal-breaker on a recent project and drove us toward Shopify. Wix sites used to look terrible. They can now look pretty good (again, mileage may vary with templates and design skills). Bandzoogle has more features for bands at a better price point. Weebly has great design options. All claim easy drag and drop interfaces. All offer cheaper options than Squarespace for a similar feature set. Squarespace domains are free for the first year only. Then, thye cost more than many other options. I found that one out the hard way.

### "Squarespace: Best and fast website builder"

August 8, 2022

3.0

If you are a beginner and want to build a website as quickly as possible without any prior knowledge, then you can go with Squarespace. But, if you are willing to invest some time to learn about website development, then nothing is better than WordPress.

Pros

Squarespace is a good option for beginners who want to build a website without any prior web development knowledge. They provides lots templates to design the website, which are mobile-friendly. First you need to select one among 100+ templates and start buliding your website with it's easy website builder. You can easy sell products in Squarespace and track product orders from the dashboard. It also has a Financial dashboard to track earnings. And ff you have any concerns about using Squarespace, you can contact customer service at any time.

Cons

Squarespace sites are not good in search engine optimization, making it difficult to rank them on the first page of Google. Limited software and service can be integrated with Squarespace. It is also quite tough to migrate from Squarespace to another website development platform.

### "Great for Freelance Web Designers!"

August 6, 2022

5.0

Making bold and impactful websites is incredibly achievable through Squarespace. Squarespace in general feels uncluttered, approachable, and non-intimidating to use. I also appreciate how Squarespace includes the fundamental tools of a business. However, this may be too basic if you need a more robust system. Many integrations can help with more functionality but may come at an additional cost, may not match the branding of your website, and too many extensions can be overwhelming to keep track of.

Pros

As a designer and developer, I enjoy designing on Squarespace because of its minimalistic and simple aesthetic. The menu is easy to navigate, and the editor is intuitive. Their new fluid editor update makes it easier than ever to create unique designs. It's fun to play and experiment with code blocks using the custom code feature. I like how CSS changes are live as you're typing. Squarespace also has a great community in its forums. The forum has many people who are always willing to help with anything. Client handoff is especially easy. After the design is finished, the client can manage and update their website without needing web development experience.

Cons

Because of how simple and basic Squarespace is, some features can be limiting. Email Marketing might be the biggest drawback. The extra cost for email marketing is not worth it compared to other platforms that offer most of the features for free. Selling digital products also has limited options. Third-party plugins and extensions can help with extra functionality, but too many can be overwhelming. Custom designing can be challenging because you need extra tools and willpower to target certain elements.

### "Beautiful websites!"

August 5, 2022

5.0

Pros

Before switching from Wordpress to something more contemporary, I thoroughly researched the offerings, and a lot of website-building platforms seemed to have little difference between them. But I trialed most of market leaders every since, and I can surely say, squarespace websites are the prettiest. For businesses that rely heavily on the visual element of their marketing, that is super important. And the recent update (the possibility to overlap blocks and place them anywhere on the grid, regardless of the page structure) is an absolute game-changer, and I am totally in love.

Cons

The only thing that I am not entirely satisfied is how Squarespace approaches multi-language websites - I had to turn to a third-party plugin. It is not a deal breaker for me, but it was just strange not to offer this in the first place.

### "Best Website Builder for Average People"

December 27, 2021

5.0

I was hired by a few different people now to help with their Squarespace websites. I usually work in WordPress and build relatively custom websites. I found it easy to pick up where things were and how things worked. Their tutorials were outstanding! When I had issues, I hopped on the Chat and got help right away. I've worked in the old Squarespace and the new one. The new one really fixed a lot of the issues I had with the old one, but I hope they continue to listen to feedback and improve.

Pros

While the options are limited, they're limited in a good way. There are sufficient options for any person to choose whatever layouts they need for their content, but not so many options that it makes things overwhelming (Wix).

Cons

The switch from "old" to "new" Squarespace was not handled well by the company. While you weren't forced to move, they didn't make it very easy. I also don't like that there's not a Media Library.

Reason for choosing Squarespace

I've worked in the W's. Weebly is way too limited and very difficult to work with. Wix is great but has way too much "personal freedom" for the average person. Squarespace is a nice happy medium. The price is super reasonable. You can even do E-Commerce and it's pretty easy to set up too.

### "Squarespace Makes My Web Presence Easy to Manage "

June 18, 2021

5.0

I have enjoyed building websites with Squarespace because it allows me to get online quickly and then deploy additional components as I work through the logistics. The versatility Squarespace offers beats the competition. I have. used Squarespace for Airbnb locations, boat rentals, laser cutting and more.

Pros

Squarespace makes deploying your web presence super easy while also looking professional. I love the versatility Squarespace provides. You can customize so many aspects of your workflow, marketing, customer interactions, orders and more. It is robust enough to grow with you as you grow your business.

Cons

You most definitely need to upgrade to a business account to really leverage the functionality Squarespace offers. The basic service is not much more than a static 1 page site.

### "Great design features but need more e-commerce support"

December 6, 2022

4.0

I enjoy using Squarespace. If the e-commerce features are more competitive, it would be a perfect website builder!

Pros

Squarespace is amazing for putting together an attractive, professional website in no time. Having used various website builders over the years, I'd say Squarespace is the most beginner-friendly. The website templates are beautiful and very easy to edit - no coding or design skills required! Because of Squarespace's extensive customisable design elements, it is best for portfolio websites - where stylish layout is important and you don't need advanced e-commerce features. And being one of the most established website builder platforms around, you can also trust that your website will be secure.

Cons

Squarespace isn't so great in terms of e-commerce integration. For example, it lacks the infrastructure to create useful shipping options (e.g. free delivery over £50), which should be an essential e-commerce feature. If you're looking to build an online store, I wouldn't recommend Squarespace.

### "Makes web building simple"

March 19, 2023

3.0

Using Squarespace has overall been pleasant. While there are difficulties editing websites on mobile devices, most features are still functional. Squarespace helps me stay on brand.

Pros

Anyone with any level of skill or knowledge can make a website with Squarespace. The features are easy to use, branding is fully customizable, and possibilities are practically limitless. Editing is easily accessible as you can edit your website from anywhere on any device.

Cons

Squarespace is finicky and difficult to use on mobile platforms like smartphones and iPads. Squarespace also charges a monthly fee to keep your website up and running once the editing is done, and charges extra for certain features that are absolutely necessary depending on what kind of business you run. I’ve had fees increase on me without any notice in the past, as well.

### "Design your website like a pro- they don't have to know you're not!"

May 24, 2022

5.0

Squarespace had allowed our company to put out a professional looking website at a fraction of the cost of hiring a website designer. The features are generally easy to use and intuitive, and changes and updates are easy.

Pros

I like Squarespace because of it's easy-to-use customizable templates. There are so many pre-designed templates to choose from- it will give you suggestions based on your industry or you can just browse the templates to find the design that suits you best. You don't have to be a website designer or know how to code, if you know how to type then you can use the templates with ease. No need to hire an expensive website developer- you can do it yourself and make it look just as good! It also gives you several features to integrate with social media platforms. You can accept payments through integrated payment platforms with ease.

Cons

The one feature that I wish the payment processed had is the ability for a customer to choose a payment price instead of having fixed price options. We bill our customers for services that have many different amounts, but unless you already pre-populated that payment amount in your page, the customer cannot pay through you website.

### "Easy to Use, High Quality In-House Website Design"

December 16, 2020

5.0

We researched and previewed a number of website development platforms before selecting Squarespace, and we've been very happy with our choice. It is very user-friendly and easy to learn how to customize and brand our pages. It is a great, cost-effective option that we recommend to other schools looking for a tool to manage their website in-house.

Pros

Squarespace is a very user-friendly and cost-effective product that allows us to create, maintain and adapt our school website in-house. Clean, professional templates are easily customizable and provide us the functionality we need to maintain an active web presence. The phone app also provides a good amount of flexibility to make quick edits and adjustments to our site on the go. The ability to create forms that can be directly linked into Google Drives has been one notable positive for us. It gives us the option to quickly customize and create forms that can then be shared and track responses for us. The website analytics function is very helpful in providing us with real-time insights and date on web traffic and usage.

Cons

There are some natural limitations to the ability to customize pages that will come with any basic website development platform. For example, in order to upload video, it must already be hosted on another platform (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.).

Reason for choosing Squarespace

Squarespace had the templates that best suited our school's needs for the right price. We also felt it had the right balance of options for customization, along with being user -friendly and easy to manage and update.

### "Squarespace is an All-In-One Headquarters for Building and Managing a Restaurant Website"

June 17, 2022

5.0

I love it, it gives be all the tools needed, and the freedom to be very artistic, in creating, updating, and overall maintaining the strong presence the restaurant has online. It's very easy to log into Squarespace and begin making any changes needed, and it updates instantly. I use the mobile version also sometimes and it's come in very handy for simple tasks.

Pros

The ability to not have to know coding to create the backbone and structure of the website. Once that is done, one can learn about adding details and where to find the tools needed throughout the software. Then in the end I can start being more creative and adding the artistic aspects to the final product.

Cons

The option for the TEXT design and colors is limited when I'm trying to vary it throughout the website. If I change some text on one page, it'll change it elsewhere. I understand I chose a template, and it has a structure, but I'd like to have more flexibility with Text formatting. Also, the Email Blast text is very limited. Only one type.

Reason for choosing Squarespace

It felt like a breath of fresh air. I loved the templates, heard great things about it, and other restaurant websites I was inspired by convinced me to join Sqaurespace.

### "Delivers Quality and Most of the Functions You'll Ever Need"

May 13, 2021

5.0

Squarespace works great for me, and the clients I've built sites for on it. It does everything that I have needed it to, and have been able to implement HTML/CSS elements when I absolutely needed to (pretty much on a novice when it comes to code). Whenever I show someone a site I've built, they are usually impressed, even though I'm mostly building on top of the work by the template designers.

Pros

Squarespace has great templates and an easy to use, drag and drop builder. You don't need any technical or true design skills to create a solid website. The high quality templates, with predetermined styling, ensure that even a simple website looks clean and elegant. It's also easy to implement your SEO titles and tags, connect email marketing services, add Google Adsense and other plugins. The price seems pretty good for all that, though maybe slightly more expensive than other CMS options.

Cons

The main drawback I've had is that Squarespace isn't as customizable as other CMS options, like Wix or Weebly. Sometimes I just want to move a simple element over slightly, yet this often isn't possible within the block format used by Squarespace. The flip side is that Squarespace has few if any bugs, while Wix and Weebly can get strange errors in my experience.

Reason for choosing Squarespace

I've used both Wix and Weebly. You can make a more unique site with either, but I didn't want to figure out all the styling (fonts, colors, spacing, etc.) by myself, and I had encountered bugs with each of these CMS platforms. It also wasn't as clear how to integrate other apps and services, such as MailChimp.

### "Clean, simple start-up but not the smoothest system. "

August 31, 2021

4.0

I use Squarespace primarily for blogging and building a brand. It is not optimal for writing, editing and photos, but it makes for a great, clean website with many options with electronic forms, pull down menus and features. Overall, it's a great product, but still very clunky and unsteady.

Pros

It is easy for a non-expert like me to build a blog, navigate a website and make quick edits. Squarespace stands out above the rest in simplicity with drag and drop features. It does a good job with electronic forms to make a way for more to opt in and covers all the bases on what you need for a website. They offer great analytics!

Cons

The software is very clunky. I tend to use it on my MacBook, but have learned to write content somewhere safer than putting it straight into website. It has crashed so many times, and adding pictures often takes a very long time. The iOS apps seem to work better but that's not optimal for my work. I've also struggled some with text editing and formatting. The process isn't smooth.

### "Nice software, but fragile and randomly freezes or glitches"

May 6, 2021

4.0

Overall it’s a pretty good experience. Although there are glitches and times when it simply freezes for no apparent reason . This can be infuriating, especially after writing a lot of content, and it will not save or update the text (we pay for the gigablast fastest business internet our ISP sells). Sometimes it will save an old draft, not the current one, this makes me want to scream. Sometimes it will delete things I don’t want it to accidentally I’m not sure what the problem is, there needs to be a general undo button. Something that can protect you if the website is glitching or acting nuts..

Pros

The stylish look of the fonts and web design. The styles look professional enough, the competitors looked too childlike or complicated to setup. I also like that you can do most of the editing from the app, not just the laptop.

Cons

What concerns me about this software, is the lack of ownership over all the work put into the website. Software companies these days are becoming political and illogical at times. Although my team and company doesn’t deal with anything political like that, it’s in the back of our mind’s that eventually we will need to break off from Squarespace because they have too much power over our website and servers. All it takes is one new CEO who is ‘Woke’ or a Twitter tweet with no accountability or responsibility, to blow up and a company’s online presence can be severely compromised. Like I said what we do is not even controversial, but We have seen from other marketing firms, weird issues like that concerning square space and competitors. So as time goes on and we become more profitable, the goal is to eventually break away from Square space over lack of control over our own website and servers.

Reason for choosing Squarespace

It was a Compromise, but overall Square space was the only one that looked professional enough for our company. We needed multiple websites for different needs, Square space seemed organized and easy to switch across platforms. The app on Square space, was one of the only apps that actually worked without too many limitations. Overall I like Square space, it’s a really good steppingstone. Long-term though, the CEO wants us to develop a website independently, so we have ownership, to protect our company’s web presence.

### "A simple way to set up a professional-looking website"

April 29, 2022

5.0

I was intimidated at the idea of setting up a website after only ever blogging for years on another platform. I was happy to find that this setup was simple and super customizable for my branding, font, look, and everything else I needed. People have often commented on how much they like the look of my site.

Pros

I like how clean the site looks. It has an updated, open look that takes current trends and styles into account. So many sites are identifiable by their overall look, and I feel Squarespace allows for a lot of individuality.

Cons

I don't really have any cons. I don't use every aspect of the site, like selling directly from it, but the one or two times I've run into glitches, the customer service has been amazingly helpful and fast.

Reason for choosing Squarespace

Wordpress has too many issues by the time it gets to the full website level, and I didn't want to constantly be dealing with plug-ins and subsequent crashes (we used to have a WP website at another workplace). Wix just looked like a cheap beginner's site, and no matter how much someone customizes theirs, that aspect doesn't change. Squarespace had a lot of variety in their themes and options.

### "Simple doesn't mean low quality"

October 19, 2021

4.0

My client wanted to launch a new brand with a website fast. I chose Squarespace just to get us going, with the intention of migrating over to a WordPress build in the near future. 2 years later we're still on Squarespace, with no immediate plans to change. The website's performance and optimization is consistently top-notch, edits are easy, tracking code changes work well, and enough third-party tool integrations exist to account for our needs. I wanted Squarespace because I hoped it would be quick and simple to set up. It was. I stayed with Squarespace because it's more effective and substantial than I initially hoped.

Pros

Squarespace really is simple to set up and use. A lot of web building best practices are automated for you, with image auto-optimization, mobile-friendly templates, and ADA compliance features. A few years ago the biggest issue with simple website builders like this was performance - drag-and-drop sites tended to be slower. Not the case anymore. All my Squarespace sites load well within Google Page Speed Index benchmarks, with image compression that doesn't reduce image quality at all.

Cons

Squarespace will cause some issues if you're at either extreme of tech savvy: If you have zero background building sites, there will be a learning curve. I know their marketing makes it sound like you could build a site with your eyes closed, but do not count on it being that simple. And on the other end, if you have deeper experience building sites and working with code, Squarespace can be a bit basic. You can't access a page's source code, block types can't be edited, and design functions are fairly limited.

Reason for choosing Squarespace

Simplicity and speed of deployment. We needed a whole new brand launched quickly, and Squarespace required the least set-up time.

### "Squarespace is the Smooth Operator of Content Management"

July 16, 2021

4.0

I have been using Squarespace since it beta days and it gets better and better. Content management is extraordinary and eCommerce is improving with each and every enhancement and upgrade. In addition to a discount for annual subscriptions, there should also be a discount for multiple account. I manage multiple accounts for clients and the incentive would be a competitive advantage for developers or content managers.

Pros

In an everchanging information marketplace, it is critical to have a software platform that can enable cross sector exchanges of information and ecommerce. I love how seamless the software is from start to finish and most importantly when I collaborate there is a quick learning curve for access and content management. Team building is critical at a time of remote working and I enjoy the ease of access and consistency across all platforms from desktop to mobile device.

Cons

I feel the image library can be improved. At first use it appears clunky, but after a bit of trial and error you see the full functionality of the images. It would be less painful if you did not need to do a deep dive. This needs a review of intuitive functionality. Let a kid try it and they get immediately. For an adult its like a native speaker of English taking ESL.

### "Squarespace, the all-in-one website builder you have been looking for!"

December 5, 2022

5.0

Working with and on the Squarespace platform is a pleasant task. I got fast results that only needed some small tweaking.

Pros

The overall ease of use. With many features already available in the lowest pricing tier, making a professional and responsive website is an easy task.

Cons

Some features, like adding custom code or email integration, are only available in higher pricing tiers.

Reason for choosing Squarespace

The ease of use and drag and drop editor made me choose Squarespace over the rest. I managed to create a professional looking website within minutes, something that is not always possible in Wordpress.

I made the switch for one of my websites to create a hassle-free workflow.Wordpress needs a bit more maintenance, and for that website, I wanted to find an easy solution to set and forget an online portfolio.
