### "Squarespace reviews"

August 26, 2023

5.0

Overall I'll give Squarespace 4 out of 5 stars, the price could be a little cheaper compared to other hosting company but the interface and easy to use website works great

Pros

Easy to use and understand and customize your blog, their templates are well designed and can be editable, and have a lot of plugins

Cons

I think for the hoasting the price migh be too high, and for the new features also you need to pay

### "Squarespace Makes small businesses look good."

November 25, 2022

5.0

I have been using it for almost 4 years. I will continue to use it for my existing business and new ventures.

Pros

I love the ease of use. With little to no skills you can use this software like a pro. Squarespace was easy to optimize and transferring from another software was not an issue. I was also able to integrate another software that I was using.

Cons

Setting up mail marketing was a bit difficult to figure out. I wish it was simpler, I would use it.

Reason for choosing Squarespace

I was easier to optimize.

### "A website-builder following the K.I.S.S. mantra"

December 11, 2019

4.0

Squarespace can't do everything you might want from a website. Or... well... it probably nearly can. The devil is in "how" it accomplishes things. Essentially the whole product keeps you "on rails" as you roll out a website. Every element within the builder has maybe one or two customization options, but the rest is hidden behind an impenetrable interface. But, Squarespace isn't just keeping functionality out of your hands to be cruel, it is often saving you from yourself. By limiting the options available to you, they also limit the potential outcomes of your foray into web design / ecommerce / etc into mostly desirable ones. Sometimes, rules/restrictions can be good! In this way, I'd say they are kind of like the "apple" of website-building platforms.

Pros

At one time, Squarespace's slogan was "build it beautiful." They take this mantra seriously, as the platform makes it almost impossible to NOT make a beautiful website. Can it be restrictive? Yes. But in limiting the user's options, it often is doing them a service. If you absolutely must have functionality or an type of implementation Squarespace doesn't support, then you probably need the help of an expert (either a dev agency or a marketing/design agency) or you are yourself an expert – in which case, you probably should have started with a more sophisticated tool.

Cons

The one area where customization is often necessary is in CSS. A bit of custom CSS goes a long way toward making a site look less like a template. Just as having a clean crisp UI/UX is the bread and butter that makes Squarespace sites so attractive to small businesses, having a "one-of-a-kind" look can go a long way toward making those businesses look more credible. It is a delicate balancing act, which Squarespace usually nails quite well... but the lack of documentation on how the site treats custom CSS is a shortcoming. I basically end up anding "Important!" to everything, because it is impossible to tell what elements of my CSS Squarespace is going to arbitrarily overwrite with no explanation.

Reason for choosing Squarespace

Listen... don't let their newly expanded advertising budget or the way Godaddy pushes them fool you. Wix makes ugly websites. I'm sorry, but it is just the facts. Squarespace is a bit pricier (although the pricing is more transparent in my option) but you get what you pay for.

Being creative takes more than just a mind, it needs tools to facilitate and brings out to showcase creation. Squarespace provides ample ready-made templates of designs to choose from for your social media requirements and is not limited to SEO tools, Marketing and Ecommerce functions, Email purposes, and other integration such as with PayPal and G Suite. Astounding!

Pros

Astonishing block templates are ready for every need you wish, be it for creating resumes, blogging, photography, ads, and whichever flares your imagination to create related arts and crafts purposely to showcase creation. Perfect tools available.

### "I never thought I would be able to build and maintain my own website."

September 8, 2022

5.0

Once I got a handle on building and editing, I was good to go. I have already recommended SS to others; I preface to give it some time. I would use SS again if I were to do it all over again.

Pros

It took me 100 hours to learn how to use Squarespace and to build my own website, and I know now why website builders cost what they do!! I self-taught myself using videos SS provides and using YouTube. Once I got the knack of it I could get creative (which took up a lot of those 100 hours) and build it on my own.

Cons

It was so much to learn, and a lot of trial and error to go through until I could use it with confidence. I thought it would be a bit more user-friendly for newbies. If someone was not technological this would be a tough software to use. Fortunately, I have the determination and some background in our digital world.

### "Good for the inexperienced"

December 2, 2021

Pros

Cons

### "Excellent service provider but can be better"

October 20, 2022

5.0

Overall very good. Templates help get things up fast but can be limiting at times. For example, product description can sit between product variation and the buy button which has the price value. It's painful to choose product without instant feedback on the price, scrolling back and forth.

Pros

Ease of use. Templates help us get our website up and running in no time at all. There is no need to know coding to get started. Things work well on both mobile and desktop.

Cons

There's no way to submit request for reviews. Review requests are sent out immediately as products are sent. Customers receive their product in 2-4 weeks. When they're waiting for the product, some of them get frustrated and see the review request as the last correspondence and leave a bad review. When clients are happy with the product the review request is already stale or deleted. Without a way to resend a request, happy customers don't leave good reviews.

### "Using Square for your small art-based business"

December 1, 2022

5.0

Pros

I really like square. I have it downloaded on my computer and my phone. I can easily send invoices to customers from my computer. This lets them pay for orders securely with their cards. I do several arts shows a month. Square turns my phone into a mobile cash register. I can accept cash, checks, and cards. I have a chip reader that also accepts tap and go cards. One of the greatest features is that it allows me to take credit cards offline. Sometimes I can't get cell service at certain locations. I can still swipe cards. As soon as I have a signal again, Square automatically uploads the transactions. It is just a really convenient way to do business at art fairs.

Cons

I find with almost ALL software that it could be a little easier to talk to a human.

### "Great design, great features, great support"

December 13, 2019

5.0

I was first introduced to Squarespace when I hired someone to design the website for my business, and he showed me how to make changes myself. From there I started to play with it and ended up creating simple websites for several clients, many of whom were then able to take over their own upkeep and maintenance. And in the three years I've been working with Squarespace sites, the features and support have only improved. I also love that they're very attuned to what's trending in graphic design, so their templates never look dated.

Pros

The aesthetic. Squarespace's design templates are fresh, current, and appealing to begin with, which provides a lot of options for customization.

Cons

It's not the most intuitive interface ever, but that said, they provide outstanding how-to articles and videos and infinitely patient customer support, so it's not hard to figure out how to do what you want to do, even if you have no coding experience.

### "Squarespace helps make solid websites with great design"

December 27, 2021

5.0

I’ve used Squarespace for a year and have been really happy with it. I tried Wix and Weebly, but Squarespace had the best templates for me, and a simple process that I could quickly do what I needed to do and get back to my business.

Pros

As a one-man band with little funds for expenses, I needed to build a website myself and I wanted a modern, well designed look. Squarespace helped me easily do this and looks so good. The building block system works well, the templates bring a modern, clean design, and the analytics provide a comprehensive view of my visitors. And the price is really reasonable.

Cons

There isn’t an auto save feature. Several times while editing a web page, I have worked for an hour or two and made a lot of precise changes—but then I accidentally hit escape and it exits the Editor view and I lose all of the my work. As a small business owner I can’t waste time like that.

### "Squarespace is such a client-friendly web tool!"

May 18, 2022

4.0

Overall, Squarepace is a great website design and development solution that's constantly improving, especially in its ecommerce capabilities!

Pros

I love how user-friendly and easy to learn Squarespace is as a website platform. Squarespace really provides a great user experience and makes it easy for our business to design and develop customized websites for our clients!

Cons

The main thing I dislike about Squarespace is its limitations when it comes to templates. I don't love having to always start with a pre-made template rather than being able to start from scratch as with some other web platforms. However, their templates are top-notch.

Pros

The design and the visual uniqueness of the prebuilt templates really distinguish SquareSpace in the webbuilder space, especially for people that need an absolutely gorgeous storefront or landing paged.

Cons

The clunkiness in some parts and how difficult it is to temper with and play around with - especially when customizing content or webpage flows. Additionally, the lack of wide variety of plugins can hurt.

### "Overall good Web Creating package"

June 7, 2022

4.0

Since this was the software in use for our church when we took over this role, we have stayed with it. The learning curve is not bad, but it is not as user friendly and "plug-n-play" as some others. But for the price and the options it is a good option.

Pros

It is fairly easy to learn how to use. There are some areas that take getting used to, like adding the various blocks and using spacers. You have to make sure you line it up and insert it in the correct spot to not offset the other info.

Cons

The inability to resize graphics. Difficult at times to place a new block in the desired spot. Sometimes the lines that appear to show where it will go don't always give you the specific spot you want. You have to move the cursor up/down/sideways to trigger it.

Pros

Squarespace is my one and only website builder that is more than that. I started using it in 2013 and never looked elsewhere. ### "Squarespace is great for ecommerce"

May 4, 2022

4.0

When I was looking to design a professional site with portfolio options, I did some research and decided to go with Squarespace because the promotion price for the first year, the options, and the template styles seemed to fit the bill. I had the website live for one year and decided not to renew when it came due for one reason, I decided that I could move my site somewhere else for less. Squarespace performed well, had tons of features and editing options, looked good, and made me look like I knew what I was doing (as far as web design goes) but in the end, the pricing was a more than I was willing to pay.

Pros

I liked the template choices, the portfolio building options, the pre-designed yet editable pages. The sites are slick looking and can be as simple or as complicated as you want.

Cons

In the end, the features offered weren't enough for the annual fee. If I was setting up a full-scale ecommerce site, I believe the fee would be absolutely worth it as there are A LOT of cool ecommerce features.

### "Incredibly easy website management"

April 22, 2019

5.0

I help manage several Squarespace websites, and have found it very intuitive and quick to set up and edit pages. It's easy to manage your plan and I haven't found their campaigning to be annoying at all while a plan is active or after it's been disabled. Overall, I've been really happy with the experience of using Squarespace and have recommended it anytime someone is looking to set up a new site.

Pros

There's a reason that these guys are probably the most well-known website solution product out there. The user interface is super slick, and so easy to use. The price is right for what you can do once you get your feet under you. I've worked with a handful of different websites in Squarespace now, and it makes it easier to recommend it each time I set up or collaborate on a site. The knowledge base content is pretty comprehensive and I've never had an issue finding an answer to a question. There's a (fairly new, I think) mobile app that is handy to have access to while on the go. Pages that are deleted can be recovered, making it easier to trust handing the keys over to someone to get familiar with it. There's options to sell products directly from your site, which means one less thing to set up elsewhere.

Cons

The templates are pretty limiting. You can try them out, but honestly, with the options that are there, there really seems to be just 3 or 4 general layouts with minor differences template-to-template. There are some annoying little things like not being able to move a gallery of images from one page to another unless it's been saved as a gallery, but they're all minor things that can be avoided as you become more familiar with the platform.

### "The All-in-One Website Building and Hosting Solution"

February 28, 2023

4.0

Overall, Squarespace is a powerful and user-friendly website builder and hosting platform that provides a comprehensive solution for individuals, businesses, and organizations to create and manage professional-looking websites and online stores, with some limitations in terms of flexibility, pricing, and integrations.

Pros

Squarespace has a user-friendly interface that is easy to navigate and use, even for those with little to no web development experience. It offers a variety of customizable templates that allow users to create unique and visually appealing websites, with little effort. Also has many built-in features, such as analytics, SEO optimization, e-commerce functionality, and mobile optimization, that make it a comprehensive and all-in-one solution. It provides reliable website hosting, ensuring that users' websites are up and running at all times.

Cons

I personally find the limited flexibility of its templates, pricing, learning curve, and limited integrations to be potential drawbacks of Squarespace. Its integrations are with third-party apps and tools are not as extensive as other website builders, which can limit its functionality.

### "Out of all the website hosts I have found Squarespace to have the best templates and interface."

July 4, 2018

5.0

A clean professional looking website with easy to modify templates. I've also never had my site go offline or become 'slow-loading' when trying to view. Server issues are virtually non-existent and that's important with a business website.

Pros

The templates are number 1 for what I like most about Squarespace. They are professionally designed in a way that is highly customizable and very clean looking. You can have a great looking website quickly and with customization you can make it look original. I started using Squarespace over 4 years ago and still haven't come across a better website builder and host. The interface for adding content is a more accurate WYSIWYG(what you see if what you get) management system. Anybody can signup with Squarespace and adjust a template of their choice quickly and aesthetically with the admin interface. There is also advanced options for adding in your own code when needed. I've tried many hosts in the pasts and usually website builders are riddled with issues in spacing, formatting and errors - squarespace just doesn't have this...and for that reason it's a pleasure to use.

Cons

Price. Unfortunately Squarespace has gone up in price over the years for monthly and annual plans. If the cost is within your budget then it's highly recommended.

Website creation was quite simple, and using it is a delight. The interface is pretty easy to work around, not confusing at all. All presets' construction is their most outstanding feature. Regardless of whether you are not a pro, it will look sophisticated. It is simple to pick from the variety of templates to create your own design.

Cons

### "Beautiful Templates but lacking in Clarity and Customer Support"

August 8, 2019

5.0

The intent of this site was I thought to make it possible for anyone to easily create their own website and get it up and running quickly. I didn't get that and felt I was making compromises again and again. I started a blog on Squarespace with the intent of linking it to my website - Squarespace said it would be a seamless process - followed the instructions could never get it to happen so it's still not linked. There was a challenge with my G Suite registration when I went to renew and after days of frustration and the risk of losing my domain I found out it was something on the Squarespace side that had not been completed. Definitely not what I thought I was getting.

Pros

I am an experiential designer so my website needs to really give a potential client a feel for what I do. After looking at several products available I selected Squarespace because I felt their esthetic best fit mine. There many beautiful templates to choose from.

Cons

I'm not a web designer but have clear sense of what I want my website to look like. I thought starting with a template close to where I would like the final site to be like would make the process easier and I could get it done on my own. Not the case. Step by step instructions are lacking in information. Inserting text and content is complicated and the final results were not what I originally thought I was getting and found myself making compromises left and right. The template you choose is populated with the elements (font & images) that caught your eye but you have to remove it all to build your content. If half way through you realize as I did this might be the best way to display my images after all you have to start all over again nothing transfers.

For me to get to the same place on WIX or Wordpress it was, it appeared, to be more work for me.
