### "Great product, price is becoming a barrier "

February 13, 2026

5.0

Good! The platform is easy to use and set up for any website owner. The Squarespace team has a lot of different tutorials as well. The price point is starting to be the biggest pain factor for myself as a small business owner.

Pros

It is very user friendly for people who have limited-no experience with website design. I love the ability to integrate third party apps.

Cons

The cost keeps rising for the same features. The value of the items for the price they charge is starting to become a problem for me as a small business owner.

### "Clean, Easy-to-Use Website Builder"

April 27, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Squarespace has been positive. It’s a very user-friendly platform that makes it easy to create a clean, professional-looking website without needing much technical experience. The templates are well-designed and the all-in-one setup (hosting, design, and basic marketing tools) keeps everything simple. That said, it can feel a bit limited when trying to make more advanced customizations, but for most standard website needs, it works really well.

Pros

Squarespace is extremely easy to use, even if you don’t have any experience building websites. The templates look modern and professional right out of the box, and everything is organized in a way that makes editing simple.

Cons

One downside of Squarespace is that it can feel a bit restrictive when you want more advanced customization—compared to other platforms, you don’t have as much flexibility unless you know some code.

Alternatives considered

[Wix](https://www.capterra.com/p/169007/Wix/)[Shopify](https://www.capterra.com/p/83891/Shopify/)

Reason for choosing Squarespace

I chose Squarespace over other platforms because it offered the best balance of professional design, ease of use, and all-in-one functionality. Compared to options like Wix or WordPress, it felt more streamlined and required less setup or maintenance, while still producing a clean, polished website.

### "Praise for Squarespace Customer Support Team"

April 29, 2026

3.0

I am so grateful to the team of live experts who was able to troubleshoot my technical challenges. It took perseverance to finally connect to these people, but once we started emailing back and forth, I got the help I needed. They were all polite, prompt and never closed the door on the chain of communications. I am legally blind and they came to my rescue.

Pros

As a first timer, I was able to design a basic website. It was easy to edit. I liked the templates, the choices of color pallets, designs and even text suggestions.

Cons

When I needed help I was initially sent to long menus of trouble-shooting instructions and videos. Eventually, after using live chat, I was given the chance to e-mail a live, human expert. Finally I got the help I needed.

### "Solid and continually progressing platform"

February 20, 2026

5.0

We've built sites in Squarespace for over 8 years. We've seen a lot of improvements in each iteration of the builder and have consistently been able to quickly create professional, clean websites. For some of our clients, the drag and drop builder is ideal for them to make their own updates (honestly, why are you paying someone else to change a photo?) There are limitations to what you can customize/change without CSS, which is also a good thing when it comes to clients accessing their sites, too. :) On the few times we've needed to connect to customer support, the team has been responsive and resolved matters quickly.

Pros

We love using Squarespace to build sites for clients who need an easy platform to navigate, with a very user friendly interface. The templated sections make building very fast and the sites are always clean with hardly any technical issues.

Cons

The level of CSS you need to know for customization can be an issue for some people, however, there are good online resources to teach you. The pricing is also sometimes an issue for clients who are lured by sales on WordPress sites.

### "Professional, Easy, Entry-Level"

May 6, 2026

4.0

Overall this is a great service and I'd highly recommend it. The pros far outweigh the cons and it is the best service out there for beginners or people needing a really professional but easy website.

Pros

Squarespace made it so easy to make a really professional looking website with no experience. That was invaluable to me. It's so easy to adjust layouts in a pretty wide variety of ways.

Cons

It's difficult to customize colors to work for every page. You can only choose from a certain number of palettes and while you can customize your palette colors, you can then change something on an individual page within a palette. Additonally, it can be really hard when you're trying to change something on the palette to figure out which options you're actually needing to change.

### "Simple, Professional Website Builder with Strong Design Features"

April 23, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Squarespace has been positive. It’s a reliable and easy-to-use platform for building and managing websites, especially for users who want a polished look without a lot of complexity

Pros

I like the clean, professional design options and how everything is built into one platform. It makes creating and managing a website simple without needing a lot of technical experience.

Cons

It can feel a bit restrictive when trying to fully customize certain elements, and pricing is slightly higher compared to some competitors.

### "Easy Ecommerce Site for Busy Entrepreneurs"

June 6, 2026

5.0

Overall I am very pleased! Not only was I able to help a friend in need, but I was also able to give them the confidence to roll with updates while still beong able to hop in and help as the changes take no time!

Pros

I like the ease of setting up your site. A friend of mine was having a hard time finding help building a site and Squarespace made it so easy to me to jump in and build the page quickly. It is so easy to navigate, make additional pages, and there are several templates to choose from. It is real easy to add/update products. Receiving and fulfilling orders is easy and even connects to shipping sites like Rollo. I am very impressed. Also a very, very good value. For quick, easy website builds, the price is so reasonable!

Cons

One thing i would change is customization. While there are many available templates, i did find myself sometimes wanting to change a color on a certain page and it was not as easy expected based on how the rest of the build went.

### "Easy to use and beautifully designed"

June 1, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Squarespace has been very positive. It is an intuitive and reliable platform that allows me to manage and update my website easily. The design looks professional, the tools are straightforward and it has been a very good solution for building an attractive website without complications.

Pros

Squarespace is very easy to use and makes it simple to create a professional-looking website without needing technical skills. I especially like the clean templates, the intuitive editor and how easy it is to update content and keep everything visually consistent.

Cons

Some customization options can feel a bit limited if you want to make very specific design changes, but for most needs it works very well and saves a lot of time.

### "A Clean, User‑Friendly Website Builder with Some Limits"

May 4, 2026

5.0

Overall, Squarespace delivers a streamlined, reliable platform for building and maintaining a visually consistent website. It works well for users who prioritize ease of use and aesthetic quality, though it may be less ideal for highly customized or complex site requirements. Day‑to‑day management is straightforward, and the platform performs well for small businesses, portfolios, and informational sites.

Pros

Squarespace provides a polished, intuitive site‑building experience with modern templates that require minimal configuration. The platform’s built‑in design tools, responsive layouts, and integrated analytics make it easy to launch a professional‑looking site without relying on external plugins or custom development.

Cons

Customization beyond the standard template options can feel limited, especially for users who want deeper control over layout or functionality. Some advanced features require workarounds, and the platform’s closed ecosystem restricts flexibility compared to more open CMS solutions.

### "Squarespace in the Right Hands of Creative Director "

Pros

I use Squarespace in more than four companies where I currently work. It allows me to seamlessly create and design websites and landing pages. In addition, I am able to host websites and emails as well as access c-panel from anywhere across any device.

Cons

Since 2018 when I started using Squarespace, I have never encountered an issue or bug that lasted for more than 24 hours without being resolved.

Overall experience is excellent. I have used their websites for almost 10 years now and find it works a lot better for me than a wordpress site.

### "Before you hire a professional website builder...."

March 22, 2025

5.0

I feel like I had a very positive experience with Squarespace and I'd definitely recommend this platform to others who are looking to get their website built out themselves. I know that I am happy with the site that I built and I think before you go hire a professional, you should first check out Squarespace!

Pros

I love how quick it is to learn and how easy it is to use. The system provides a great help and how to section but it really isn't needed too often. The options for creating a website that is unique to your brand is vast. I appreciate the 'non-code' version of website building because it made me feel confident doing the build myself. The AI features and the pre-designed pages are AMAZING. It took all the work and time consuming details out of the picture but still allowed your site to become unique.

Cons

My only con would be just having to do it myself. I know the site is designed for that purpose but everything else was pretty easy to figure out. I have had sites built out before so I do think the website builders that use coding are more complicated to use but they do offer more options and customization on the back end where the coding would be. For example I didn't care for the preset color designs but I was able to find one that I was happy with.

Alternatives considered

[Wix](https://www.capterra.com/p/169007/Wix/)

Reason for choosing Squarespace

I wanted to try something new. I used Wix prior to WordPress and I know what they could and couldn't do. I liked the 'done for you' part that Squarespace offers and how quickly the pages could be put together. I have been doing this a long time and I know what I like and Squarespace offered that right away instead of me having to envision in, build it, and then complete it myself or hire someone else to do it for me.

Switched from

[WordPress](https://www.capterra.com/p/131687/WordPress/)

Too complicated to use. I didn't know how to change photos, content, add banners, or even do really anything with the site. I was frustrated and hands off and it showed as the engagement on the site was really just lacking. I am hoping this change will be positive and allow me to really take back control of the site.

### "Great interface at a great price"

November 22, 2025

5.0

Overall, I love Squarespace because of the ease of use, lower price point and the customer service. They make updating DNS info and domain stuff pretty simple too.

Pros

easy to change layouts, update content and switch templates. I have had my site with them for a few years now. I especially like some of the options of plug-ins like the email signup form for landing page.

Cons

Some of the site templates appear a bit dated, and I kind of wish they would update the new offerings of them more often.

### "Squarespace: The simple professional platform"

January 28, 2026

4.0

Overally, I was impressed by the all-in-one solution that SquareSpace offered that enabled me to get a professional-looking website live much quicker.

Pros

I mostly liked the design flexibility, which was made possible by the professional-looking templates that are also mobile responsive.

Cons

I did not like that the more advanced features were only available on the more expensive plans which is different on other sites.

### "Worth the Investment"

March 16, 2026

4.0

Pros

I really enjoy how easy it is to use Squarespace. There are a variety of templates to chose from, so you can find something to fit your brand and needs, and I like that it's easier to add custom elements as well. I also think that it's pretty easy to add your domain to their website. Overall, it's a great value for your money and helps organizations of all sizes get their name out there.

Cons

One of the downsides to Squarespace is the payment feature. Although it is easy to collect payments through Squarespace's processor, it would be better for nonprofits if we could integrate with other payment processing servers. The other con is customer support can be confusing. In a day and age where companies are leaning into AI, it would be easier if we could have a person to talk to instead of endless FAQ page.

### "Approachable Site Builder with Design Limitations"

April 16, 2026

4.0

I've used Squarespace occasionally over the course of the past 10 years for clients whose sites are built on the platform, and I have to say that while the feature stack has improved, the flexibility in page design really hasn't. It still is a solid choice for tech-averse people though, as the backend UI is very simplistic.

Pros

Squarespace makes it really easy for anyone to build a website, regardless of technical or design ability. The interface is also very simple, which makes it feel more approachable for people who are a bit more tech-shy.

Cons

I really hate how limited layouts on pages are, since everything revolves around the "square" grid system. This often leads to awkward spacing between elements and the characteristic "Squarespace" look that all sites built on the platform seem to have. It's also impossible to make individual changes to fonts/colors/button design without completely modifying site-wide universal settings. If having more design and even functionality control is a high priority, this is not the site-builder for you.

Overall, as time passed I got use to the functionality of it but, it still wasn’t my best experience with developing my website.

Pros

What I liked most about square space was it had decent styles for templates and it allowed for me to learn pass the challenges at created my first website.

Cons

What I least enjoyed about square space was it was a bit limited in my opinion and not the easiest to navigate or learn.

### "Easy to Use Website Builder"

October 8, 2025

4.0

Very positive. For the price it is, it's an amazing way to design a slick, professional website that functions as you'd wish.

Pros

It's very easy to use and build a website. For those with no technical web development experience, they offer a variety of templates that make it simple and fast to design a nice looking website. It's fairly priced too. You can set your branding guidelines (colors, logo, etc.) and it incorporates it into the page layouts and templates seamlessly so it matches your brand.

Cons

Because it's easy to use and quite basic, it lacks more advanced customizations. For example, you can't make a page look completely different on mobile from desktop. They generally have to be the same designed page which doesn't always look best.
