### "Squarespace is the gold standard for web design"

February 13, 2024

5.0

Pros

Squarespace is the most intuitive, simple and easy to use web builder I've ever used. I recommend it to all my clients who aren't confident in their website management skills.

Cons

It's definitely on the pricier side of website design options but it's worth it for the ease of use and built in beautiful design. Almost impossible to get it wrong.

### "Squarespace"

February 14, 2019

5.0

Pros

As a web developer that used to make websites for people, Squarespace has completely eliminated the development aspect of making websites. It is super easy to use, the templates are all beautifully designed, it is integrated with a ton of other software programs, and the average person can use it to manage their site.

Cons

There are only a few things that bother me with squarespace. I wish you could actually customize code or add/create your own custom html pages with the given templates; however I understand that it probably goes against their whole ideology. Also, lately I have had trouble with dealing with spacing and moving of blocks, but I think that is something I just have to get used to dealing with.

### "LOVE LOVE LOVE!!"

January 13, 2024

5.0

Pros

I moved from WordPress to Squarespace and I am in heaven. So happy I am finally using this platform. Super easy to use and create incredibly beautiful, fast-loading, fun websites!! Everything in one place

Cons

Although it's a great feature, saving the segments of your website in order to create new pages, you only have a limit on how many segments you can save and I wasn't aware until I couldn't find the piece I needed! Would be FAB to have more segment storage space

### "Squarespace review"

August 24, 2018

4.0

Squarespace is easy to use and easy to connect DNS settings, It generally takes 24 hours for a site to go live after the DNS settings have been connected. The templates are beautiful, you can choose anyone and upgrade to either personal or business, I suggest business. The trial is 14 days but that is usually enough time to create a site since you are usually just replacing images and text.

Pros

Squarespace is amazing if you are not familiar with code, it has a drop-and-drag function and many visually appealing functions, You can also add additional things like promotional popups (which is your subscriber block that pops up when you open a site), Facebook pixel, google analytics, connect MailChimp to collect a database and ad words. With Squarespace your images won't be converted to low res, you can also add videos but these videos have to be connected via a third party such as youtube or a video service. The best thing about Squarespace is their customer service, their live chats. These experts help you with your issue and if they can't help you with the solution you were hoping for, they suggest alternative methods. SEO is amazing.

Cons

The business package is expensive and if you don't have a business package you can't use a mobile info bar, place a Facebook pixel on the backend of your site and you also can't use Mail chimp to collect a database or a subscriber list. The e-commerce site is not available in rands yet. You also can't have an except dropdown on a page, this is a problem is you have long text and want a "read more" option. You can use anchor points but only if you are paying for a business plan. You also can't have a video on a banner if you are viewing in on mobile.

Excellent experience overall, I had one little hiccup that was my own fault and the customer service team helped out so quick!

Pros

This site was extremely user friendly! I originally considered having someone build my website for me but I quickly changed my mind after exploring all of the options with Squarespace. It allowed me to first create a platform For free until I was ready to pay. I was able to do my entire website n the free version and once I had my funds together BOOM! A full site up and running! My greatest accomplishment this year, getting my website together!

Cons

There isn’t Anything bad I can say about this platform. It was so extremely user friendly! If I say anything bad I’d be lying.

### "Templates are Great "

March 6, 2019

5.0

It's a good platform for simple ecommerce (just a few products) and for showcasing a portfolio of work. Squarespace saves a lot of time by offering elegant and navicable features.

Pros

I like the simplicity of building a Squarespace site - I've built a couple SS sites in just a few minutes. The templates are very elegant and save a lot of time and thinking about layout. Blogs and ecommerce features are good. It's easy to set strikethrough pricing and have simple-enough products.

Cons

The Analytics section is good but there could be more insights. Google Analytics is good to use in conjunction with the out-of-the-box insights on Squarespace. With the ecommerce feature, if customers miskey in their shipping address, there is no easy way to edit the shipping address. Wish this capability could be added!

### "Best For Those With No Web Dev Experience"

October 14, 2019

5.0

Overall, if you have very little experience with web development, Squarespace is a great tool to create an eCommerce Website or regular website. If you know the team members that will be updating your website have very little experience, Squarespace will be easy for them to figure out. In our marketing business, we typically only work with Squarespace when a client has a pre-existing site on the platform that they do not want to move. We typically recommend Wordpress or Hubspot depending on budget and other needs, just due to the flexibility of each platform.

Pros

Squarespace is incredibly easy to use. With easy user interfaces and a "What You See Is What You Get" editor, they make it easy to create beautiful websites with little experience.

Cons

Because Squarespace is easy to use, it leaves some advanced features to desire. The templates are more restrictive and I find as an experienced web developer, I often get frustrated with what I cannot do in Squarespace that I can do in Wordpress. You'll also pay more for Squarespace than you would if you used Wordpress and your own hosting.

Reason for choosing Squarespace

Squarespace is better than Weebly all around in my experience and more user friendly than Wordpress, while also being cheaper than Hubspot. Squarespace is also more restrictive than Wordpress & Hubspot!

### "Best Website Platform"

September 10, 2019

5.0

Squarespace has helped me to grow my business without the hassle of endless hours of tweaking and customizing website designs.

Pros

Squarespace is very easy to setup, use and manage. I love that updates don’t require constant tending and managing like Wordpress does. The templates are clean and allow you to focus your attention on the content and clean design. The new Squarespace app is such a huge time saver and allows users to manage their websites and blog posts without having to be at a desktop.

Cons

The new Squarespace app is a bit buggy and occasionally says I don’t have internet connection, even when I do.

Wordpress required so much of my time. Plug-ins required manual updating and managing to ensure websites functioned seamlessly. I made the switch to Squarespace because the onboarding process in Squarespace was so much easier and more intuitive for my clients.

### "Customer complaints aren't concerning enough to change practices."

October 15, 2022

2.0

I'm using them while trying to find a better alternative, I'm rooting for them, but I feel like the company may have too many cards in their hand at once, and not enough focus on anything in particular, at least not enough focus to not waste the amount of potential that they have for greatness, while looking to be the next best thing.

Pros

The website design features, ease of use and affordability keeps me hanging on with this company but the most attractive thing about this company is their vast amount of partner integrations.

Cons

Customer service is a complete waste of time. The staff is not at all concerned with an issues that may arise, they cut you off during conversation and have even raised their voice at me.

### "Easy websites"

October 10, 2018

5.0

I'm a very satisfied user of the product. It helped our business launch a few brands quickly and with high quality output.

Pros

In my experience, this is the best website builder for junior level to mid-level graphic designers. But senior level designers shouldn't sleep on the Squarepsace either. It's very capable of handling custom designs which in turn help you build a fully branded website for personal or client work. And they continue to add more and more features to support the needs of these higher level designers.

Cons

Squarespace, in the end, still needs an internet connection to design your websites. Maybe an offline-mode would really help especially remote workers who could have spotty internet connection.

### "Solid Website Creator"

February 3, 2022

5.0

Overall, I recommend Squarespace over it's competitors because of the well-designed templates, ease of use, and performance tracking.

Pros

As someone who first started out with Wix and Wordpress, I have to say Squarespace is so much better. Not only are the templates better designed and more attractive, it's easier to find what I'm looking for. Not having a background in HTML, I would spend hours on Wordpress trying to customize the pre-made templates because the placement of things weren't the most user friendly. With Squarespace, I don't have to take that burden on myself. I have been able to find exactly what I need. It's also very easy to track performance which is great for someone who is starting with a low following.

Cons

The biggest con is not having an autosave function. When I'm working (productively), I can get a lot done in the span of even five minutes. There's been many a times where I've forgotten to save my work and exited the Editor view which caused me to lose what I was doing. An autosave feature seems like it's a must so would really appreciate that being implemented.

### "Squarespace - The Apple of Website Builders"

October 17, 2019

4.0

I believe Squarespace is the Apple of website builders. I love the experience and would not trade it for and easier to use site builder. the extra work is worth it for the quality outcome you get.

Pros

Squarespace is know to be The Apple of Website Builders to present. It may not be super easy to use but it is definitely clever and intuitive. Pages are built using content blocks which has many useful feature/elements available like photo galleries, forms, buttons, media player and many many more. To arrange the elements you simply drap and snap them into columns around your page in the order you want them. Squarespace makes working with images super flexible, allowing you to set a focal point to crop around rather than automatically cropping the image from the center. Another unique creation available is the Style editor which allows you to change the look and feel of your site as needs be. They are known to have some of the best templates on the market along with what I believe to be the best blogging experience which provides post tagging, drafts, comments, categories and customizable URLs. They also have a feature that is great when working in teams, which allows posts to have multiple authors, how cool is that! Something else to show off there greatness would be their full form builders with google drive and mial chimp integration and also you can make use of their lightbox mode. Did I mention that they also have one of the best eCommerce among general website builders? Yes, they do providing features like customizable receipts and much more.

Cons

It is not as easy to build with comparing to some general website builders, but definitely worth the work.

Reason for choosing Squarespace

It might be a bit more work but a better overall experience and outcome.

### "Best Business Decision I've Made"

June 10, 2019

5.0

Pros

My husband is a web designer. I have the ability to have a custom website made for me, but I also hated to ask him to fix things, and I hated going through all the code myself to update the site. I switched to Squarespace over five years ago, and it was the best decision I could have made for my business (and a great one for my marriage, too 😂). If you don't need a huge, elaborate website, but still want something clean, beautiful, and easy to maintain, I can't recommend Squarespace enough.

Cons

Every now and then, I run into limitations in a template that I wish I could change. Why certain blog styles aren't available in every template baffles me sometimes. I'll find a template I love but hate that it can't have a sidebar somewhere or that there's a blog overview rather than going straight to the blog itself.

### "Amazing Platform For Your Brand, Business or Organization!"

June 27, 2022

5.0

Overall I'm a huge fan of Squarespace! As a long time user I am a very satisfied customer! I own a small business in addition to running my own band, the latter of which I'm using Squarespace for. It's easy to design, update, and track everything all in one place, all for a cheap cost. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who wants a cheap and easy website creator!

Pros

I've been using Squarespace for years and I really love it as a website design platform. The interface couldn't be any easier and the vast array of templates is great for finding the perfect look for your website without needing to work too hard. Overall it's very user friendly.

Cons

As is the case with many template based website creators, if you're looking for very in depth features, you might not that find it here. For me it's not a big deal as I just need a simple website designer and not anything crazy, but that would be a drawback to this one if you needed something more complex.

Reason for choosing Squarespace

Mostly I chose Squarespace because of the cheap cost. It's tough to find something cheaper out there and I was super happy to find that it is also a great product on top of being inexpensive.

### "It's... okay"

February 25, 2021

5.0

I like it. It's easy to just setup and go. But there isn't enough customization opportunity without good code knowledge. And while there are great tutorials and videos to guide you along, I am a visual designer so it felt slow and clunky.

Pros

If you just want to load up and pick a template and replace the words and photos with your own content and be live within an hour or two it's great.

Cons

It's highly customizable, and you can use code to write in your own css to do things that you want. But, if you do not have good code understanding it can be a bit much. And every template is pretty much exactly the same, so your finished product looks fantastic, but it's very dull overall.

Switched from

I wanted more customization and the ability to inject code that worked better. Wix let's you but it is clunky, or opens in a new window.

### "Set up your own site with Squarespace"

October 18, 2022

5.0

Pros

It is a site that provides the opportunity to set up your own site for those who make small budgets. domain vs. they arrange everything themselves. All you have to do is choose the template you want and make the necessary customization. If you have your own site, that is, you bought a domain from a third party (see: godaddy) etc. then you can still get service from this site, but you will need to make the necessary settings and mapping, something like routing (I do not recommend it very much).

Cons

You have to do everything manually - okay, these are the things that should be - but even if you fill the whole site with metatags, tags on photos, etc., you will only appear on the 5th page of google results when you search for the keywords you entered, except for the words in your domain name. They should be able to fix this problem.

### "Squarespace is my saving grace for web design!"

April 7, 2018

5.0

I get a functioning, reliable, easy-to-use, beautiful website for my business that brings in new clients weekly.

Pros

I LOVE that Squarespace is so user-friendly, has beautiful templates that are super customizable, has a very visual user-interface, and is very reliable. I've never had any issues with Squarespace and I've been using them for years. Most importantly, Squarespace allows for beautiful websites to be easily made with a relatively low learning curve, while still allowing the ability to custom code sites to your liking.

Cons

I do wish there was even more customization, though they keep adding new features every year. Figuring out how to custom code in special features can be tricky.

### "Squarespace Web Development"

June 17, 2022

5.0

I've used it sparingly compared to wordpress and since I host my own websites with namecheap and GoDaddy that way I've not had to allocate more resources on monthly fees to have a website versus just having something I can upgrade as I go and build my company.

Pros

Squarespace is very easy to use for a dinner and also effective in SEO and branding your web project with not a lot of barriers to learning for the entry level designer.

Cons

The cost is similar to other do it for you hosting website builders; however, there's no beginner or personal tiers for the small non-established student or learning entrepreneur to get their feet wet. It's a straight B2B Target in each that helps more so larger businesses solve their technical issues.
